Polishes -Chanel - Kabuki
carolinelovesbunnies 3/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
This is likely my most favourite polish of all time. It is gorgeous. Deep, colourful, rich, cremey, it really is perfect. The application is flawless and the finish is beautiful and glossy. I am sad as I am coming to the end of my bottle and I cannot find this shade any longer. A pretty good dupe is Big Spender by Essie.

Masks -Freeman - Dead Sea Minerals Facial Anti-Stress Mask
carolinelovesbunnies 2/23/2013 7:53:00 PM
This mask is a decent product. It contaIns some sort of massive dose of colorant/dye, which is I could do without, to be honest. Apart from that, it's a good, cheap, basic mud mask. You apply it to dry skin, wait until it dries and then rinse it away. The texture is thick but also a bit slippery. It doesn't irritate the skin. It does take a while to dry, maybe about 20-30 minutes. It is a bit difficult to rinse off, but I always remove it in the shower. It does absorb excess oil from my clogged or enlarged pores, particularly on my nose. I don't find it does much more than that... But I think that's ok for an inexpensive mud mask to use when needed. I would suggest applying this mask to your problem areas about 10 minutes prior to everywhere else.

Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced - Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer
carolinelovesbunnies 2/22/2013 10:13:00 PM
I received this in a gift set as a deluxe sample size. I thought I would like this primer as I do like a good primer and I love Too Faced products. Sadly, this did nor work for me. I tried it for 2 weeks to give it a true try, and with different makeups, but still no luck. It is thicker/heavier feeling than I like, feeling like a dry yet smooth wax. It does immediately make pores appear smaller, but this effect lass only about an hour. It also makes flaky skin stand out terribly. It did not help my makeup wear at all. It is tinted, and darker than my fair (but not super fair) skin tone. I could see the tinting of is to bother some with super fair skins, those who don't want to appear darker, or those whose very yellow-based skin tones do not match with this. I think it is tinted to give the illusion of calming skin irritation, blemishes, etc.... But don't be fooled... It's merely an illusion. It did not provide any of these benefits. Above all, it broke me out terribly.... Continually and terribly! I am still battling the aftermath. It gave me dry flaky parches, spots and did not help my makeup wear any better or longer. I would not recommend this primer at all. I would highly recommend the Hourglass oil-free primer to anyone interested in a cruelty-free primer. For an effective yet cheaper primer, i would suggest the Rimmel primer.

Mascara -Stila - Stay All Day Waterproof Mascara
carolinelovesbunnies 2/20/2013 9:46:00 PM
This is a terrible mascara. It is super dry and heavy and waxy, yet unbelievably clumpy. It gives instant clumped together lashes, that one couldn't even comb through to improvement. It also feels heavy on the lashes and weighs them down. The tube itself is poorly designed as it accumulates a ring of cackey clumpy mascara around where the cap and the tube meet, every single time I close it. To boot, the mascara flakes onto my cheeks and undereye area within 5 hours.

Treatments -Organix - Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum
carolinelovesbunnies 2/18/2013 5:57:00 PM
This is a nice serum at a nice price-point. It smells nicely if coconut. It works well to protect hair and add shine. It is inexpensive and so a nice way to solve severe dry hair. I have used better serums (Aphogee, for ex.), but this one is more readily available. I would like to try the vanilla version of this serum as well. I wouldn't use this in hot/humid weather again, as I find it leaves my hair too sticky feeling. In more humid weather, it doesn't apply as well (spread) either.

Shampoo -Organix - Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shampoo
carolinelovesbunnies 2/18/2013 5:12:00 PM
This is a terribly harsh shampoo. I wanted to like it as I prefer to use more natural products when possible, but no, this was a failure. It is super drying, to my hair, scalp and skin. It left my scalp super irritated and with a dry skin issue. I don't typically have a manageability problem with my hair, but this caused a dry and frizzy mess. I have a lot of long fine straight hair, not dry nor oily (I wash every 2-3 days), for what it's worth. I don't find this shampoo even cleanses well. The texture of the shampoo is a thick gummy gel, which was rather unpleasant. The scent was kind of fake smoke-ish, too strong and unpleasant as well.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Reviving Cleanser
carolinelovesbunnies 2/18/2013 11:37:00 AM
Good basic cleanser, similar to the yellow bottle version (which I prefer to this one). It smells nice and cleanses well. I would only use a tiny pea-sized amount with my Clarisonic. It doesn't irritate my skin, but maybe it is a tad bit drying... Then again it is winter and dry here.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Hydrating cleanser (Pineapple)
carolinelovesbunnies 2/18/2013 11:34:00 AM
This is a pretty good basic cleanser. It smells fun and doesn't irritate my skin. I use only a tiny amount along with my Clarisonic. I wouldn't say it is hydrating, but it is not drying either. Good product if you're looking for an inexpensive basic cleanser that smells nice. I also liked the red bottle version of this, though I prefer this (yellow) one.

Deodorants -Tom's of Maine - Natural Long-Lasting Deodorant Lemongrass
carolinelovesbunnies 2/18/2013 11:26:00 AM
The first day I used this, I was impressed with the scent, much like lemongrass, very fresh/sweet. It glided on well, but felt wet for a few minutes (longer than expected), & I felt like it travelled down my arms, which I found odd. Once it dried, I didn't notice it really. I would like to mention that it is winter/cold, I am not a sweaty or odorous person and I did not work out on this day. By evening time, my shirt smelled sour. I never felt wet, but it did not prevent odor, and I would say that this product made me smell more than if I had used nothing at all. Terrible. The next day, I tried it again, thinking maybe something was off the previous day. I applied it and within 2 minutes, I had a very painful burning rash. I had to immediately wash it off to relieve the pain. The rash took a day to disappear. I am shocked. I always thought of this brand as quality natural products. This was NOT a quality product. It was ineffective, unpleasant, and problem-causing. I would suggest to avoid altogether. Terrible!

Scrubs -Aveeno - Aveeno Active Naturals Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub
carolinelovesbunnies 2/17/2013 10:16:00 PM
This product is terrible. I found it to be entirely ineffective. My skin was not rendered smoother or fresher. It does not exfoliate at all, it does not brighten, it does not detoxify. It is not gentle enough to use daily, contrary to its name. It stings the skin. It causes breakouts. It is heavily fragranced, and to boot, the strong scent smells awful and synthetic. I even tried it as a body scrub, but it did not apart from causing me to have dry skin. Not worth even trying, in my opinion. I was surprised at the poor quality of this product, as I have liked every other Aveeno product I have tried. I actually really like their daily face scrub in the green tube.

Lip Liners -NARS - Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina
carolinelovesbunnies 2/17/2013 5:46:00 PM
I really wanted to like this shade, but unfortunately, it did not work for my fair skin tone. It looked like the type of light, neutral shade that I can typically pull off, but once on the lips, it looked different. it appears darker and more muddy than expected. I ended up looking lifeless. It was too dark for the light neutral it is presumed to be. I could see this being really nice as a natural look on someone with a medium complexion. This lip product definitely has its pros and cons. On the pros: lightweight, velvety finish, smooth, flattering matte. Cons: the cap bounces off all of the time on its own (even without bumping against anything), formula is a bit drying, product gets used up very quickly (so, you have to bring a sharpener around with you in order to reapply). I also didn't like how there's a layer of clear film that peels off of the packaging (similar to some other NARS products). Overall, not a bad product, but the shade is rather odd in general. I would not recommend as I find it too pricey for such a basic item that will be used up too rapidly, and just to give a look of your own nude lips.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup (new - 2011 version)
carolinelovesbunnies 2/17/2013 8:12:00 AM
I love this foundation and use it as my regular everyday makeup. I love that it does not irritate my skin (surprisingly, despite the noticeable fragrance, which I do find lovely). It goes on very smoothly, dries quickly (while allowing just enough time to blend it - apply to one area at a time), covers all sorts of blemishes, wears well (almost an entire work day - I set with powder) and provides a beautiful finish. The look is more of a doll-faced appearance, as it is medium to full coverage, closer to the full end of the spectrum. It is a natural look in the finish, in that it is a bit mattifying, but has a subtle glow as well. It is very pretty. I am always told that I have nice skin when wearing this foundation, when actually I have blemishes and freckles (which, I know, some may love). It applies well on its own or over my Hourglass primer, and blush/powder apply well over it too. It does not cause me breakouts, and I think it may actually help my skin also. This has been my favourite foundation for years.

Gels/Soaps -Softsoap - Mega Moisture Body Wash - Heavenly Vanilla
carolinelovesbunnies 2/17/2013 12:51:00 AM
I purchased this as it was on sale and am very glad that I did. In one use alone it helped soothe my very dry winter skin. It felt less itchy and appeared less dry to the naked eye. The bottle says it is a body butter cleanser and I now understand why, since it is thicker than any other bath gel I have used. Its creamy texture works well on the pouffe and is soft on the skin. The scent is a typical warm vanilla scent, not high-end or true vanilla, but also not the overly candied/sugary vanilla of some on the market. It's not my favourite vanilla scent, but it is nice. It does linger in the washroom air for quite some time post-shower. I do wish the bottle was a squeeze-tube format. I am very happy that I have tried this bath gel and I would definitely repurchase in the future, if only for its body butter-like texture.

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Gold Label
carolinelovesbunnies 2/17/2013 12:13:00 AM
I really liked this BB creme, I am sad that I have used up my entire bottle (which lasted a long time). It had great moisturising properties, applied smoothly & had a nice thick texture. I felt it protected my skin during the entire day quite well. It definitely sped up healing of any blemishes and dry patches. The colour out of the tube had a classic greyish tone, which changes upon application to the skin. It imparts a dewy finish, though not greasy. Highly recommend for a thick, veritable BB creme.

Moisturizers -Biotherm - Biosensitive Soothing Protecting Nurturing Moisturizer
carolinelovesbunnies 2/16/2013 6:35:00 PM
This is a very sensitive skin friendly, very hydrating and soothing moisturiser in the form of a true creme. I bought this one by accident when I meant to purchase the gel-creme version. I have nonetheless had good results with it. It is too heavy for my combination skin, but I have found the right use for it with my skin. I only use it in the winter when my skin is drier, and specifically it is my go-to creme for sensitive or sore parts of my face (i.e. around my nose when I have a cold, etc). It will not sting irritated skin and it will replenish the moisture lost. It soothes rapidly and helps restore delicate skin to its natural balance. My husband will also use it for the same purposes and likes it as well. I could see this being ideal for someone with very dry skin. For combination skin, this is certainly too thick/heavy for regular daytime use... Maybe better for certain aas at nighttime.
