Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin

I bought this with the UD Optical Blurring Brush and they work wonderfully together. The color matches my incredibly pale skin perfectly, and it's very lightweight -- it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup, which is a big factor in whether or not I like a product. It has good coverage for what I use it for (mainly redness on my cheeks), but I still have to use a concealer (I use the UD 24/7 concealer) under my eyes. It is expensive, but it is the only foundation that I have used that I like. It hasn't broken me out, it has good coverage, and I don't feel like I'm wearing a mask when I have it on... so for me, it was worth the $38 I spent on it. Packaging is great -- I love the hygienic and easy to use pump container. I did drop it on my tile bathroom floor and the whole thing broke into its component pieces, but it all snapped back together easily and is as good as new now.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Complexion Perfection

I'm completely pale with hardly any blemishes. I cover under-eye circles and any spots I have with Maybelline Dream Mousse concealer in the lightest shade, then go over my whole face with this. I don't use foundation, I just use this over moisturizer and concealer to even everything out and make myself look more put together. It absorbs the oil on my nose and disguises the pores there, too. It offers hardly any coverage, and it's very pale, which suits me and is actually exactly what I was looking for- for $3!!

Eye Shadow -Sonia Kashuk - Enhance Eye Color-Burnished

Bought this as a complete impulse buy from the Target clearance bin for $2. It is such a beautiful color on me that I will definitely buy it again if I ever run out, even at its regular price. It's blendable with rich color, and just the right amount of shimmer without giant glitter chunks. So pretty!

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey

I love this stuff. I've gone through 2 of them already! Like everyone else says, it looks natural at first, but you can build it up if you want to. I usually wear it every day under another lip balm for a "stain" type effect, and it seems to last for a long time, and this way, my lips don't get too chapped. All of my friends steal it from me all the time, and they are consistently amazed with how good it looks on a range of skin tones.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
caroleeena 4/1/2009 12:58:00 PM
I didn't want to like this stuff. The packaging is not well thought out, it smells funny, AND it's expensive. But it did so much good for my skin! I have really severe combination skin (my nose gets shiny with oil within like 30 minutes of putting makeup on, and my cheeks get dry and flaky, all at the same time), but it evened out everything wonderfully. I haven't had a bad breakout since I've been using it (about a month and a half now). The only reason I tried it is because it was one of the deluxe samples at Sephora, and I wanted to give it a chance, despite its bad reviews. I will buy it again if I can afford it, but I can't see myself running out anytime soon.

Skincare - Body -Dr. Bronner's - Lavender Liquid Soap
caroleeena 3/2/2009 9:44:00 PM
After using this stuff, I can't go back to other soaps and body washes. I just don't feel quite as clean when I use anything else. I love the REAL lavender smell, and the fact that it doesn't have a huge list of chemicals that I'm putting on my skin. I react easily to artificial colors and fragrances, and this stuff doesn't have them, so there's nothing to fear there. My only complaint is that it dries me out a little bit, but that's fine with me, because using lotion is better than feeling greasy after a shower.

Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Stick

This stuff is AWESOME. I've got two of them: one for my lips, and one for everything else. I love that it has vitamin E, because it helped heal some scars I've got on my knees and elbows. It keeps my face from getting chapped from cold wind in the winter without breaking me out... and of course it's great to heal severely chapped lips. The smell is great, too!

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pot in Black
caroleeena 3/2/2009 9:39:00 PM
This stuff stays put until I take it off, which is what I was looking for. I never really got the hang of smudging it, though- because it dries so fast. I mostly use it for doing everyday simple eyeliner or more dramatic cat eyes. I use an angled eyeliner brush to apply it, and it's actually easier for me to apply than pencil eyeliner (somehow... maybe because I've been using it for so long). I haven't yet had the issue of it drying out in the pot, which I was worried about upon first buying it. Favorite eyeliner!

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Un-petroleum Multi-Purpose Jelly
caroleeena 1/7/2009 4:12:00 PM
Love this stuff. I hate putting chemicals on/in my skin, but I used to use Vaseline (with many doubts) all the time. I found this stuff at a local health food store and bought it, and I haven't turned back since! Like everybody else, I use it on lips, elbows, and anywhere else that needs extra help. It's also great for taking off stubborn eye makeup!

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara
caroleeena 7/22/2008 6:23:00 PM
I used Clinique's High Impact Mascara for about a year, and recently ran out. I couldn't really afford to keep buying it, so I looked around for similar products for a while- and this one really stands out. It has a better brush than the High Impact mascara, and achieves the same effect, even with less flaking than the Clinique mascara. I'll definitely buy it again, it's a great product for the price.

Blush -Ulta - Afterglow
caroleeena 7/22/2008 5:47:00 PM
This is my favorite blush. I'm extremely fair, and have tried a lot of blushes and bronzers- most of them make me look like I either just got done running a marathon, or like I smeared my face with dirt. The colors are usually too heavy, and that is not a good look. This gives me a nice peachy-pink glow, extremely similar to the color that I usually blush. It has a very light shimmer, which just adds more of a glowing quality, which I see as a good thing. It is in no way shiny, though. The packaging is nothing special, and this is my only complaint. The amount you get is minimal, and my blush brush is bigger than the pan! The price is decent, especially when you can buy one get one free with the other products.
