Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Fresh Vanilla
rated 5 of 5

My search for a vanilla scent is over. This is it! Very mild and milky, not too sweet. I love it. This was on sale for 75% off and I had to go back the next day to buy off all the body cream left-all 5 of them, bought 2 the previous day. Very nice to use as a hand cream too. I paid around $2.60 for each 8 oz tube. Great deal!

I love this scent, very sophisticated. Edited to add: I don't use this scent anymore, seem too heavy.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Falling in Love

I LOVE this scent!!! This is my favorite. When I first got this, I felt it was sickly sweet, but then it turns into this wonderful scent that is just delicious. A bit pricey considering you need a few sprays to last. But I recently found a cheaper version. I also got the shower gel, lotion, talc and sugar scrub. Scrumptious!

Mascara -Prescriptives - False Eyelashes Plush Mascara
rated 4 of 5
carol72 11/9/2005 4:09:00 PM

I am Asian and have very short, fine, straight lashes that is almost non-existent. Any mascara that is not waterproof gives me raccoon eyes. I'll curl my lashes and it will just stick straight down after applying mascara, doesn't matter if it's a curling mascara. Prescriptives False Eyelashes doesn't give me a much longer or thicker lashes, but I was so surprised at how it didn't smudge at all, NO RACCOON eyes at the end of the day. And it's very easy to remove just by washing my face with cleanser. After trying it a few more times, I noticed that sometimes it makes my lashes longer than it's ever been. I'm thinking there is probably an application trick that I will just have to get used to. Unless I find a cheaper non waterproof mascara that will not give me raccoon eyes, I will repurchase. I use a heated lash curler to recurl after I apply mascara.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
rated 5 of 5
carol72 9/23/2005 10:55:00 PM

I love the Philosophy Microdelivery Peel but it is very expensive $65. So I search for something similar at Walmart and found this for only $25. Box says the same thing, and even the jar and bottle look exactly like Philosophy. This box will probably last you 3 or 4 months depending on how often you use it. I used it for the first time tonight, and it made my skin feel really smooth and it's gentle on your face, you won't feel it stinging. So if you like Philosophy's The Great One, here's the cheaper version and delivers the same result.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Strawberry Milkshake 3 in 1
rated 5 of 5

I was very surprised at the reviews on this one. My first experience with Philosophy's 3 in 1 is the Sugar Cookie which I didn't like the scent so swapped it. Then I bought this thru QVC not because I really wanted it but because they were generous enough in the Hurricane relief donation. I bought 4 bottles of this thinking one will be a teacher's gift. Opened the bottle, sniffed it and didn't really like how it smelled. But once I started using it, I find myself addicted to it. I use it as a shampoo mainly, which I also thought odd at first, but once I tried it on my hair, I'm hooked. I have long, fine, straight Asian hair and this shampoo gives it more volume. I use only a little bit, make sure you add some more water after you apply it in your hair then the lather is just glorious. I even look forward to giving my kids a bath so I can use it on my older daughter. The teacher will probably have to get a different present. Did I say I LOVE IT?

Primer/ Corrector -Philosophy - The Present Clear Makeup
rated 3 of 5
carol72 9/20/2005 12:57:00 PM

I received a sample of this from Sephora. Used it 2x, still have quite a bit left. You only need to use this product sparingly. I really loved how this made my skin look and feel. I cleanse my face, use moisturizers, let dry a couple of minutes, then apply The Present. Wait a few minutes after application and you would see a big difference, then I proceed to use my BE foundation, don't have a problem with applying M/U whatsoever. Ok, I really wanted to buy a full size of this until my face broke out. I haven't had a break out since June when I started using Philosophy skin care system, on the other hand, I started using Ponds Purely Polished microdermabrasion product 2 weeks ago. So I'm not so sure if The Present caused the breakout or a delayed reaction from the Ponds product. Overall, if this doesn't cause irritation on your skin, it is an awesome product.

Concealers -Neutrogena - Skin Soothing Undereye Corrector
rated 4 of 5
carol72 9/18/2005 9:16:00 PM

I have bags and dark circles and I didn't notice any depuffing although it does highlight the area somewhat. If you're looking for a concealer, don't buy this. I like this because it is light, doesn't get chalky like other concealers do. I put this on and my foundation primer, didn't feel anything, waited for my primer to dry, then about a minute or so later, the cooling sensation kicked in. Very soothing, no tingling or irritation, just plain cooling effect, like I have placed cold cucumbers on my eyes. I continued to feel the coolness for about 10 minutes even after I have applied my BE foundation. Do I still see the bags and the dark circles? sure, but I do feel darn good and unless I find something better, will most likely repurchase.

Eyes -Bare Escentuals - Weather Everything Liner Sealer
rated 5 of 5
carol72 9/4/2005 9:53:00 AM

This really makes my eyeliner stay. The packaging, though not too pretty, is functional and sanitary. It is like eyedrops and one drop is all you need. I don't use this very much as it does take quite some time to put on. But if you are going out on a rainy day or even swimming, this will stay on. My only problem is removing it is very hard, I even tried waterproof eye make up remover and it is still difficult to remove, any suggestions? Would I buy this again? I would if I run out but since you only use so little, I doubt I will ever need to buy another bottle.

Lip Gloss -Models Prefer - Aqua LipLights Lip Gloss Trio
rated 5 of 5
carol72 8/11/2005 4:01:00 PM

I ordered the lip gloss H2GO from QVC, not the liplights. It comes in a silver case with 6 mini lip glosses, 1 lipliner, 1 liquid lipstick. I was disappointed at first, the packaging in person looks and feels cheap. But once I put on the gloss, I think I found my HG lipgloss. I don't like flavored glosses but these are just very subtle. Very moisturizing but feels very light on your lips not waxy. I would definitely but them once they come out in regular sizes. There is also enough pigment to make YLBB.

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - LipGloss *general*
rated 4 of 5
carol72 8/11/2005 3:55:00 PM

First impression, LOVE the packaging--very cute and the texture of the bottle is so nice. The lip gloss feels very good on my lips, keeps them moisturized. Love how I can just throw the minis in my pocket. They are very sheer, so sometimes, I layer it with lipstick. Now I'm hooked on lip gloss in general and I find myself obsessing on finding a lip gloss better than smashbox.

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid Lipstick - Jenn
rated 4 of 5
carol72 8/11/2005 3:51:00 PM

I bought this today from Walmart. I've been wanting to try Stila lipglaze but don't want to pay the price. The packaging on this is just like Stila except I only paid less than $4 for it! Very pretty light mauve color, I'm satisfied. I would buy again in other colors.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Volume Boost Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
carol72 8/11/2005 3:49:00 PM

I bought this in Bossy, pretty red/orangy color. It's very thick and creamy, applicator is brush type-nice. Feels minty on your lips and stayed on after I ate. I think I like it! Not sure if the color is flattering on me, it's a new shade so maybe I just need to get used to it. Very moisturizing.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Smashing Cream Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
carol72 6/28/2005 10:01:00 AM

I first tried this creme eyeliner in the proof palette. I instantly fell in love with it. The push brush is easy to use. The packaging is just beautiful. I love the colors, they all look flattering. You get a full palette of colors to choose from whether you want to go natural or more drama. I think it's easier to use than liquid liners. The only negative I could say about this product is it doesn't stay as long as they say, it smudges a little, but this is the best eyeliner that I could find that smudges the least, revlon colorstay was really bad on me. Colorstay liquid liner has the best staying power on me but I could not apply it on my bottom lash line and rarely can I do a perfect application on the top. I can't wait to try image, and maybe MAC.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
rated 1 of 5
carol72 6/28/2005 9:54:00 AM

I purchased this eyeliner in hopes that it would work for me. They colorstay liquid liner works great and does not smudge. I was disappointed, used it a few times and always after an hour or two, it migrates down and gives me raccoon eyes. I'm throwing this out. Maybelline great wear works better, but now I'm just hooked with smashbox creme eyeliner, contemplating trying MAC.
