Liquid -Bourjois - En toute légèreté Le Fond de Teint Sensation Peau Nue (In all lightness, makeup foundation, bare ski

Wonderfully light, makes skin glow like polished porcelain, but one drawback is the very minimal coverage. I love the finish and my skin is improving, so I use this as the weather warms for a very natural look. Packaging is hygenic but the stuff is very runny, so be careful not to squirt out too much in one go! I wish it came in a bigger size, too.

I use #24, but I think it's sheer enough to be flexible. As I tan I might move to #25...

Edit: still loving it, but reading the review above, I think one of the important things is not to use too much - it's very runny, so it's tempting to use more to build up coverage, but this is not a good foundation to "build" with. It does get very chalky and artificial if you use too much - I usually use about 1/3 the size of a penny's worth at a time. The tube is tiny but it'll last forever!

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes in Sun Bronze
rated 5 of 5

Love this colour! Dark in tube, and can be layered dark bronze-brown on lips too, but spread thinly it's such a lovely glossy warm red tint that goes beautifully with a no-makeup face. Somedays I just swipe this on and go. And my bf reports that it tastes quite alright too - always a plus!

Blush -NARS - The Multiple in Mustique
rated 5 of 5

Oh god, I love this so much. It's my first multiple, and how did I live without it?

I am *always* running late and so this is a godsend - I just swipe it on my cheeks, put a small dab on my nose and chin, and voila! All set. I hardly need to blend. It's a fresh, bright coral-peach shade that makes me look young(er) and dewy flush. Funnily enough, this is the first blush that actually looks decent on the apples of my cheek only (I have a very round face). Doesn't show up much on my lips but then again I have highly pigmented lips and I don't usually use much lipstick ordinarily.

I have fair-medium Asian complexion, GA LSF 5.5, Becca Cashew.

Only got a sample of this so can't comment on long term, but the scent is gorgeous! My hair dried kinda frizzy, which it doesn't usually, but I'll give it another shot or two.

Blush -NARS - Passion [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

This came with my Erotica Palette also, and I have to confess I love it dearly. It is well-pigmented and gives me a lovely warm flush on my fairish Asian skin. I don't have to be as careful with this as I do with Crazed - whereas Crazed gives me a winter faint windburn look (which I love!), Passion gives me a toasty-warm indoors-by-the-fire glow. A keeper!

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Healing Cream
rated 5 of 5
carokoo 2/15/2004 2:46:00 PM

Ah! I think this is my HG! (I have a different one every fortnight, but wait for edits...)

I have a horribly acne-prone forehead and a very clear, normal face everywhere else. I had a really bad breakout last month and freaked - lumps and bumps and redness everywhere on my forehead. Almost had me in tears every morning. So then I decided to whittle down products dramatically, and I've stuck with this regimen ever since:

fresh Umbrian Clay bar in the morning, just as a cleanser. Mario Badescu Corrective Complex Emulsion, MB healing cream. Night time is the same, but before cleansing I scrub with a microdermabrasion cloth. I also add a layer of MB Herbal Hydrating Serum after my moisturiser.

no acne treatments, no nothing. That was it for 2-3 weeks, and today I have clear skin with, surprise, only one tiny blemish next to my nose, which is odd, but acceptable. My acne scars have faded heaps, my forehead is smooth, and my cheeks/chin have remained soft and smooth and even-toned. I am so psyched; will try and phase in some products that will give me a better "glow", but in the meantime this is better skin than I've had for years! Huge rave for the Healing Cream - it is a lovely soft silky-matte texture that makes the skin feel perfect, if not dewy.

Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk

Love this thing - turns my thick, wiry, stubborn this-is-where-I-want-to-be-wavy-so-back-off hair into silky submissiveness! I don't even bother blowdrying anymore because this baby will iron out any kinks pronto: 10 minutes for my thick head of looooong hair. Makes my ends look new-cut and I got a lot of compliments the first time I tried it - "did you do something different to your hair?" Only complaint is that if it makes your hair super-hot, so if you're not careful you can scald your fingers and/or face *with your hair*. Pretty neat, but still, not fun.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Corrective Complex Emulsion

A milky serum used to lessen acne scars and hyperpigmentation, basically even out skintone. I use it sporadically (when I remember) after cleansing and before moisturising, and I have to say that I have noticed a definite improvement in my skintone - it's more even and bright. I like the squeeze bottle, too - hygenic - but I can foresee some difficulties squeezing the product out when it runs low! $30 for a tiny bottle.

Moisturizers -Carley's Clear & Smooth - Skin Treatment Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
carokoo 1/25/2004 3:10:00 PM

I love this stuff - huge rave! It's creamy and easy to spread, but sinks in like no other moisturiser I've ever used (and man, I've used a LOT). I've tried stuff from jojoba oil up to CDLM and a million things in between, but I feel like this might be it.

I only use it on my cheeks - my T-zone is very acne-prone and so I'm breaking this in - but even just after 4 days of using this the skin on my cheeks has become more translucent, finer, silky smooth and firm. Milia is getting rid of itself and I'm now tempted to try it on my oilier zones, just to see how it goes. Will update.

Only gripe is the somewhat odd smell, but it isn't offensive, and I've smelt much worse. Disappears right after application.

EDIT: my skin was going crazy after a while, and I don't know whether this has anything to do with it. Have reverted to a regimen of microdermabrasion, Mario Badescu healing cream and Glycolic cleansing lotion, and my skin has hever looked better. I have been using this on my body instead...but might try phasing it back in because it certainly is good value!

Treatments -The Body Shop - Almond Oil Nail & Cuticle Cream
rated 5 of 5
carokoo 1/20/2004 1:02:00 AM

Great sweet almond scent, and amazing moisturising properties. I had the worst, hang-naily, ragged cuticles and chipped nails you could imagine (I dropped a drawer on my hand - don't ask) but a smear of this stuff haphazardly over my nails transformed them so that the cuticle almost disappears onto the surface of my nail! Amazing. A boon for dry, windy winter hands - my nails now look manicure-beautiful.

Comes in a tiny jar and is a hard, yet greasy-ish balm. Would probably last forever but if it runs out, I'm running out too to buy a new jar! At $8 it's a tiny bit steep, but to me, worth it.

Hair -Revlon - Outrageous Shampoo & Conditioner
rated 2 of 5

It left my hair stripped, dry and sad - I tried the fine hair type and perhaps I should've gone for something more moisturising? A lippie goes on for the great scent and for the price, but I can't bring myself to try this on my hair again.

Hmm, I used to love this, but I think it's frying my hair - split ends are starting to come up and I only had it cut 3 weeks ago! Boo.... Sadness. Trying Bumble & Bumble next before I go back to Redken...

Fragrances -Nina Ricci - Les Belles du Ricci, yellow version "Delices d'Epices"
rated 5 of 5
carokoo 1/15/2004 12:37:00 PM

Really? This is my favourite perfume! I love it so much and it gets me compliments no end. I'm surprised to learn there is no pineapple in it, because that's the note that jumps out at me - sugary, fresh yet warm, and a lovely sunny disposition that makes me feel summery all year round. Perhaps it's a body chemistry thing...

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes in Mangue
rated 3 of 5
carokoo 1/15/2004 12:29:00 PM

An odd colour that does not seem to work for me - leaves my lips looking slightly ashen grey? It's a bit too orange and a bit too bright to work with my Asian complexion. :(
