Styling Products -L'Oreal - Smooth Intense Anti-Frizz Serum
cardigan 2/26/2007 6:14:00 AM
I have tried a lot of serums in an attempt to make my fine, wavy/curly hair frizz-free and not loaded down with gloop. This is definitely the best serum I have ever used. It's a really light, almost runny texture which is nowhere near as heavy or gloopy as other serums. I use 3 pumps on my towel-dried hair and then add more to my hair when it's dry, if needed. My waves are left tamed, non-frizzy and look better than with any other product I know. I haven't tried the Kerastase version of this product yet, although I find it hard to believe that it will be so much better than this product, which costs half the price.
I tried this product based on a recommendation and I have to say that it is the best undereye concealer I have ever used. The coverage is great - my congenital dark circles disappear more than I thought possible, and the colour is perfect (I use shade 02). I deducted one point as I thought it did not mask fine lines as well I'd hoped, although it doesn't emphasise them either - it just isn't as moisturising as I'd like. That said, I will definitely repurchase this product.
I had wanted this nail varnish for ages and finally found a Chanel counter that had it in stock (it's obviously very popular!). I tend to wear just one coat of it to get the dark red/brown colour. I usually don't wear dark or bright colours on my nails, but this is fabulous! Will definitely repurchase!
I really like this mascara. I've been using it for 2 months and have yet to see any evidence of "drying-out" as described below. It's a really nice mascara - gives a natural-looking amount of volume and length. It doesn't clump either, although no mascara does if you roll the wand on tissue before applying to get rid of the excess. I'll probably buy it again to use as a daytime mascara - but will invest in something more dramatic for nights out.
Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Daywear Plus Sheer Tint [DISCONTINUED]
cardigan 8/11/2006 6:01:00 AM
I have recently started using this product and have to say that it is the best tinted moisturiser I've tried. I have normal/slightly combination skin and use it over my dermalogica Active Moist (after leaving plenty of time for the Active moist to sink in) and it gives a lovely even and dewy look to my skin. The trick is to not overload your skin with it - just build it up slowly until you get the result you want. It lasts all day as well - especially if I dust a small amount of Estee Lauder Aeromatte translucent powder on top. I'll definitely buy it again.
This is definitely my HG in terms of lip glosses. The colour is perfect. I have brunette hair, light olive complexion and brown eyes and it looks really natural on me. The sparkles are not too obvious either - just give a lovely sheen to the lips. The lasting power is also better than most other glosses I've tried. I definitely recommend this product.
I love using this product - it's definitely the best cleanser I have found so far (and I've tried a lot - including ones 5 times more expensive!) I use it by massaging it into my face and wiping off with a warm, damp face-cloth. It's definitely worth a try and I will certainly re-purchase.
Masks -Dermalogica - MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque
cardigan 6/19/2006 8:12:00 AM
I love this mask. I have normal/combination skin and this mask makes my skin much smoother and clearer. I apply it twice a week after using Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant and leave it on all night. I haven't noticed an orange colour on my skin when I put it on - only faint traces of orange around my eyebrows. My skin is so smooth and clear in the morning - and the effects last for a few days as well. I will definitely repurchase this product as I feel it really makes a difference to my skin.
Treatments (Eye) -Dermalogica - Multivitamin power firm for eye and liparea
cardigan 6/13/2006 4:29:00 AM
I use this product around my eyes and have noticed the difference it makes. Upon application fine lines are visibly reduced - and stay like that throughout the day. It is excellent for fine lines, but at 28 I don't have too many anyway so it doesn't have that much work to do. I'd like it to target puffiness as well, although it does such a great job with the fine lines that this is not that big a deal. Anyway, I believe that puffiness only goes away with drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep. It's expensive but does a great job on fine lines. Will probably repurchase.
Lotions/ Creams -Clarins - Moisture-Rich Body Lotion
cardigan 6/8/2006 7:21:00 AM
This is the only body moisturiser I've ever used that has been able to turn my calves from dry and scaly into moisturised and silky-soft. It's so pleasant to use and the smell is lovely. I'm using it every day and using the Clarins Body Scrub twice a week and my skin has never been better.
I started using this product about 2 months ago and my skin has never been clearer. My skin has improved a great deal since I started using Dermalogica products - no dryness, flakiness or spots. My skin is not particularly oily - it's normal/combination - and this cleanser does not dry it out at all. I'm currently using it along with other Dermalogica products: Active Moist, Gentle Cream Exfoliant and Skin Hydrating Mask. This cleanser is one of the best products that I have ever used and I will definitely contine to use it.
Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Intensive Moisture Balance
cardigan 1/12/2006 4:20:00 AM
I'll defintely be using this as my regular winter moisturiser. I am prone to almost clinical dryness around my nose and this moisturiser sorted it out perfectly. I am using it in conjunction with the Dermalogica Essential Cleansing Solution and the two products are ideally suited for dealing with dried-out winter skin. I don't think I'll use it during spring/summer though as it will be too rich for my t-zone at that time of the year. But I will definitely repurchase next winter.
I love this product. It's a really gentle exfoliator which feels like it is doing your skin good. It may not appeal to those who prefer scrubs/products that are quicker to use but I'll definitely be re-purchasing.
Cleansers -Dermalogica - Essential Cleansing Solution
cardigan 1/12/2006 4:08:00 AM
I am almost finished a travel size bottle of this product and will definitely be buying the full-size bottle straight away. It is the first cleanser I've ever used which does not make my skin feel tight and dry after using it. I don't use it to remove my make-up (I use Pond's Cold Cream and a damp face cloth for that) but I do use it after the Cold Cream to rinse away any residue. It has a lovely smooth consistency - which may not appeal to people who prefer their cleansers to foam - but I find it very pleasant to use. As for the packaging - it's hygienic and easy to use. I can't understand how some people thought it difficult to deal with. I highly recommend this product and will definitely be purchasing again.
Mascara -Chanel - Cils a Cils Lash Building Mascara
cardigan 12/6/2005 7:10:00 AM
I really like this mascara. I usually have to wipe nearly all the mascara off the wand before applying it, but this mascara went on perfectly without doing this. I really lengthened my lashes, after just one coat. The packaging is also really good - nice and chunky! I'm dropping a mark from it because it doesn't volumise quite as much as I'd like - although perhaps it would if I applied more coats of it. I'll definitely buy it again.
