Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Mascara Waterproof

I am Asian with short straight lashes. I am always on the look for a mascara that Can add length and volume. This Diorshow mascara is good for people that are looking to lengthen their lashes more than anything else. It has a nice intense black color which gives it more definition. I would say that in volumizing it doesn't do much. I couple it with my shu uemura eyelash curler and it holds the curl quite well throughout the day.The effect that it has is: a long, more defined and natural looking lashes so if you are looking for really dramatic lashes I would suggest to try a different mascara. The downside of this mascara aside from the expensive price is that it smudges on the under eye part after 2-3 hours. Overall I would say it does a good job, I am not sure I will repurchase as I am always in the lookout for "THE" mascara but I am quite pleased with the results. I gave it 3 out of 5 lippie for the price and slight smudging.
I am an asian girl with fair complexion (Dior-Forever030). I fell in love with this semi-matte red with orange undertone from NARS. The color is bright and it has more red than MAC's lady danger which was exactly what I was looking for. The staying power is wonderful, it lasts long, doesn't smear and the color is consistent. If you would like to have more moisture with this lipstick you can always add a layer of lipbalm before using it, wait for a little bit then put this lipstick on, you just have to put on a bit more than if you put it on directly, because the balm has a tendency to soften the color a little. I really love this red-orange lipstick, sexy and complements my fair skin with excellent staying power. will definitely repurchase.
I am asian with fair skin- I use number 030 in dior forever foundation- It's a really great hot pink color that brightens up the face, and though it's hot pink, the color is not neon-crazy which keeps it on the classy side instead of the trashy ;). It's a very chic pink color for those who are daring. really good to spice up the look. It lasts quite well and not drying. definitely a good color to wear about town ;)
I was really dissapointed by the performance of this eyeliner from Chanel. the positive point of this eyeliner is that he color was actually a nice intense black and the texture glides easily and the sharpener that comes with it. BUT It doesn't stay on and it also runs off my water line leaving me with dark circles. Applied on the eyelid, it quickly dissappears leaving my attempt of a sexy cat eye to well... nothing. If you are a fan of pencil liner, I would recommend urban decay pencil liner- zero. I have it as an addition to my gel liner (mac fluidline blacktrack). I find both (Urban decay & MAC) to be more resistant and long lasting. will not buy this chanel eyeliner ever again and not recommending it to anyone. you can find better performing eyeliner with better price than this one.
Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Sublime Red 150

First off, I would like to say that I am not usually a wearer of red lipstick because I find it hard to find a red on me that looks classy instead of trashy or making me look like I'm trying to be a geisha. But this red is PERFECT. It is light and sexy at the same time and it lit up my complexion with a classic touch of red. I am now a fan :D. I could wear it straight or combine it with a kiehl's lip balm (the red tinted one) for a glossier look. I have gotten many compliments with this red and I will definitely repurchase.
I bought the waterproof version of this mascara. LENGTHEN is the word for this mascara. It does exactly that and Only that. This mascara really adds length to the lashes. It has staying power and it looks very natural. It smudges a little (but very little) after long hours. For those who wants volume, this may not be the right mascara, but for those who wants length, this is fabulous! I very much reccomend it! I have been using it for 4 months and it hasn't dried out. :) I always curl my eyelashes beforehand with shu uemura's eyecurler, both works really well together. It doesn't cause any fall out for the lashes, I love the packaging. The only downside is that it's quite pricey. Nonetheless it is a very good buy and I'd definitely repurchase.
Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Vitamin Enriched Face Base
caoscalmo 12/6/2009 1:48:00 PM
This is actually my first ever make up base. I bought it because I was looking for a face base and the make up artist told me that it can also be used as night cream. I've only been using it as a base, so for the impact of the vitamin-enriched contents I can't really say about the effect. It moisturises really well and it makes the foundation glides smoothly on skin. It didn't irritate my skin at all. I agree with the previous comment that it smelled so lemony. I'm not crazy about the smell. I think the packaging looks pretty but not practical and not hygienic, u have to use an applicator to get the product or using your hands. It is quite pricey, as for repurchasing, I will contemplate about it, until the jar is finished (it's quite a lot so I'm sure it will last me for a long time.)- will update again ^_^
Crème -Bobbi Brown - Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation
caoscalmo 12/6/2009 1:27:00 PM
I have been using this product for awhile, and I must say I am impressed on how natural it looks on the skin. The color blends really well (I use Beige #3) I have acne-prone, combination, asian skin. I was hesitant in buying it at first because I was afraid it will be quite drying, but I found out that if u use the bobby brown make up base to go along with it, it doesn't dry out the skin ( without it- for me the texture is drying on my skin). It doesn't clog pores and has pretty good staying power. It's better to use it with the brush because it falls so naturally and doesn't exhaust as much product compared with using the sponge that comes with the package. The only downside is that it's very pricey, nevertheless the product is quite practical and the coverage is very lovely so I will probably repurchase :)
Treatments -Avene - Diacneal Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
caoscalmo 11/18/2009 3:05:00 PM
I have been using half of the diacneal tube by now. I must say that it did a great job in controlling acne breakouts. It also helps dries out the pimples and eliminating it. It is however very drying. so now I wear it in combination (ex: Monday diacneal, Tuesday- Moisturizer) but on the days when I have break out I use it every night, then put on moisturizer and sunscreen during the day. what I DON'T reccomend is to use it under your eyes. I did use it for my under eyes after reading several reviews from here, but it actually made the little lines under my eyes seem more obvious and deeper because it's very drying for the under eye area. for skin information: I am asian, I have combination-acne prone skin. The packaging is also very convenient as it is in a tube so it keeps it hygienic. All and all great product and I will repurchase :) <3
I LOVE this product! I tried it after reading the reviews on here and I have to say that it really does wonders :) It gives me clear looking skin and People often compliment on my skin when I wear it ;) Even on the days when I have acne breakouts (I have small red-ones usually allover the face esp. nearing that time of the month) when I slather this on, it evens out the tone of my skin and gives an illusion of clear radiant skin! I put it with a foundation brush or using my fingers, I don't have to use a lot because it already has such great coverage.my bottle last me for a long time. I don't use any powder on top of it because I like it the way it is (unless for party purposes that needs heavier looking make up). It has staying power as advertised ^_^ I have combination skin and prone to acne. I didn't experience any breakouts or irritation due to the usage of this product. I Definitely will repurchase again and it's now my ultimate foundation, I reccomend it to everyone- my sis is now hooked on it as well ;)
I love this eyelash curler, I always carry it everywhere with me! I bought the smaller version (the one that's featured on the picture here is the normal size one). I like the smaller one because it can reach to the difficult corners. I instantly noticed a difference as my not-so-long eyelashes curls up instantly everytime and open my eyes! my lashes are definitely more prominent even before applying a mascara. I agree that it is expensive for an eyelash curler, but it lasts so long, I bought it 2 years ago and I don't even have to replace the black sponge yet with the spare that comes in the package. I would definitely repurchase!
Treatments (Eye) -L'Occitane - Immortelle Eye Balm
caoscalmo 5/11/2009 3:04:00 PM
I would NOT reccommend this product to anyone! The price is Very Expensive , It took so long to absorb. The morning after using, I always woke up with flakey particles on my eye. I soldiered on 'till half the jar (because of the price and it's unrefundable, and I was still hopeful it'll do smthn) I didn't see any change. needless to say it's a waste of money, a dissapointment and I will not purchase it again. Every interest I have on this line of l'Occitanne product has died along with it.
Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - Repairwear- Intensive Eye Cream
caoscalmo 5/11/2009 2:44:00 PM
I used this product everyday 2 times a day, and mine is almost finished. Soo.. after trying a jar of this, I can say that I like the creamy and soft texture,It absorbs well with no residue but I can feel the moisture even after several hours. It also lightens up a bit the dark circles area (though fortunately mine is not really severe). What I was hoping when I tried this was to soften the little lines that I have under my eyes, but I see no change in that, Nevertheless it's great as a base, and It really helps to moisturise and erase smudges from eyeliner (a tip from an estee's make up artist: use a bit of eye cream to get rid the smudges of eyeliner up so your eyes stay hydrated and u get rid of the unwanted smudge) anyways I am still in search of the best eye cream and hope to find it :)
Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O
caoscalmo 5/11/2009 1:11:00 PM
This is my staple Make up cleansing product. I am Asian, fair-combination skin. I used to have bad acne problems, and after finishing the treatment i had with the dermatologist. I wanted to find a cleansing product that is not aggressive to the skin. Thanks to a friend recommendation, I started using the cleansing oil from Shu, and now it has been 6 years and I have to say it's the best one for me. My definite staple product. No more breakouts and it easily washes off make up even the most resistant eyeliners and mascara. Though it's on the pricey side, you only need a little to clean the whole face and neck area, it actually lasts for quite sometime, a big bottle for me can last from 6-8 months so I consider it as a good investment. I use the green one because I like the texture and smell and my skin feels good and even slightly moisturised afterwards. I have tried the white, pink and purple, but found myself coming back to this one. how I use it: -wash my hand with soap and dry it -put a little shu uemura oil on my palm (one pump usually suffice) -spread it on my face and neck area -spray a bit of water on my palm then massage my face and neck -spray water to face and neck then clean with towel. I use facial spray (water spray) just for extra precautions for my skin, you can also do this with regular water of course :) for heavy eye make up it helps to have a bit more oil than the regular one pump and massage it in the eye area then emulsify and finally rinse it off completely. I hope this helps, I find it to be an excellent product and will continue using it. I recommend it to all my friends.
