Lipstick -MAC - Cherish Lipstick

I really love this lipstick, it's a great nude. It's a wonderful everyday or dramatic eye lipstick. I think this might be a bit too dark for fair people but I'm fair/medium tone with pigmented lips and this looks great on me (about N25ish). It's a brown based nude, not pink and I certainty don't see any orange in it. It's a satin but acts more like a matte finish. As others have said, give this lipstick about a minute or two to set with your lips and it will look it's best. It last me about 4 hours of eating, talking, and drinking for me to need to reapply it but, it fades evenly and doesn't leave a weird ring around the lips. This is also a great lipstick to mix in with others, I love cherish on it's own but I like mixing angel with it too. I'm sure a pale pink or peachy gloss would look good with this as well (i'm just not a gloss fan personally). Overall I'm very happy with it and will probably be going through this quickly (I will repurchase). The only con is that it can be a little drying, but as long as you wear a light balm underneath it'll be fine.

Blush -Laura Mercier - Second Skin Satin Cheek Colour - Lush Nectarine

I was very hesitant to buy this blush at first. It looks so tiny for such a price tag and, the fact it looked like there was shimmer in it made me apprehensive (big matte fan). After caving in and buying it I found it to be everything I was hoping for! I'm around N25 for reference... I looked high and low for a true peach blush and I couldn't and, nothing compared to this one, I kept coming back. It looks bright in the pan but applies very natural looking and can be built up but, I would advise going light handed at first since you can go overboard with this. It's a beautiful pure peach! nothing too pink or brown about it, I adore this blush so much. When applied you can't tell there is shimmer in it at all, it gives you such a natural and youthful glow. Also a little goes a long way and the little pan no longer seems like a ripoff to me, it will last a long time. This is definitely a staple for me.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Daphne
candyrivera 8/11/2010 2:19:00 AM
I am so in love with this shadow!!! It's a gorgeous deep and vivid violet purple. I know some people said they had a tough time swatching this on their arm and/or hand but, it's truly different on your eyes. It's build-able but not sheer at all. It's just so gorgeous, all purple shadow lovers must get this. I was on the hunt for a purple that wasn't so blue based and this one isn't. I have grey eyes but it brings out so much green in them, so green eyed girls will look amazing in this. The pigmentation and color pay off was great and doesn't stain the lids (I know some purples do this), it was also easy to blend in my opinion. The first day I wore this I had strangers telling me how pretty my eyes looked. It's very hard to find good purple shadows that have good pigmentation and even harder to find matte ones! I hope they make this a permanent edition to the shadows. I'm very happy with my daphne shadow!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Crazy Cool
candyrivera 8/11/2010 12:15:00 AM
This shadow really sucked. Actually quite a few of the "dare to wear" shadows suck. It took A LOT of packing over a eyeshadow base to even show up. The pigmentation is really bad and isn't easy to blend. I would suggest buying beautiful iris than this since the only difference is that this shadow isn't very pigmented and beautiful iris is, crazy cool has silver duo-chrome and beautiful iris has blue and is a little bit darker but not by much. This just wasn't worth it to me. I took it back out of my disappointment. Save your money and buy a better lilac shadow than this one. It's beautiful in the pan but it takes so much packing to get the same color on your lids. Not worth your money.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Frost Eye Shadow - Swish
candyrivera 8/11/2010 12:08:00 AM
This is such a pretty shadow, I don't think I've really seen I pink like this one. In the pot it looks sort of raspberry but it goes on a little lighter and more of a lilac pink. It goes on very smooth but does need some packing on to get a opaque coat of color. It can be a little tough to get the shadow out of the pan but with a good brush shouldn't be a problem. It's a very unique color that would look good on many skin tones.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bronze Eyeshadow
candyrivera 8/10/2010 11:59:00 PM
This shadow is so buttery smooth and blend-able. It's such a gorgeous color and really makes my grey eyes shine. What you see in the pan is what you get. This makes great smokey and sexy eyes. The pigmentation and color pay off is great! This shadow is easily paired with other color so you options aren't too limited when working with this color. Definitely repurchase worthy.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Eye Shadow in Quarry
candyrivera 8/10/2010 11:53:00 PM
I would have never picked this up if I wasn't recommended this color. I was oddly drawn to it for some reason even though my first impression was "dull". When on, it's not dull at all, it a very pretty plummy taupe, and I usually do not like taupes. I'm neutral/warm toned and this looks great on me, I just couldn't wear it alone on my lids, other than that I think warm toned ladies could pull this off with proper application. It blends nicely and is smooth going on. I surprisingly like this one a lot.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shock-A-Holic (Dare to Wear)
candyrivera 8/10/2010 11:33:00 PM
This was the worst eyeshadow ever! I felt so ripped off after purchasing this. It's absolutely ridiculous that they even released this with the horrible pigmentation that it has or should I say doesn't have. Yes you can build this up but honestly you could find a drugstore shadow that is equivalent if not better than this shadow. After building it up to what I could, my eyes were sore from all the layering and blending I had to do with this shadow. I have very soft brushes and I've never had to layer something until the skin on my eyes were tender. The end result does bring out the green in eyes and the color in the pan is gorgeous but it doesn't show up like it does in the pan. I wouldn't waste your money on this shadow since you can find better for your moneys worth. If you want a "dare to wear" purple or a great vivid purple I'd recommend Make Up Forever shadow "92". This is a matte shadow but in the pan there is pink flecks but doesn't show on the skin but then again neither does the shadow it's self really. I expect more from mac. I understand you could spend extra time and work with this but for the price I don't think you should have to. Spare yourself the disappointment and spend a few more dallors on MUFE 92 or Nars Daphne.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Carbon
candyrivera 8/10/2010 11:15:00 PM
This shadow isn't for those who are looking for the blackest black shadow, as someone else mention nyx has an amazing pitch black shadow that is inky black. It can be tough to blend and difficult to work with at times. I found it hard to make a clean opaque coat without having to layer it over a few times. It's great for lining over gel liner to set and deepen the black. It's also good for lining by it's self as well. I love to use this to darken other shadow colors and to darken my outer corner without it being too obvious. When using carbon over other shadows it can become very dark so do use a light hand until you have a feel for how this color will work for you. Over all I do like having this shadow and I do use it whenever I line my eyes. It's a good staple.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Eyeshadow in Mystery
candyrivera 8/10/2010 11:02:00 PM
This is a great dark brown. It's a neutral maybe slightly cool toned brown. It's a satin finish but more matte when applied than satin in my opinion. I use this as my brow filler and it looks very natural (black brow powder can sometimes be too much) with my jet black hair. This shadow is also great for a dark smokey eye without being too much or too intense like black can be. I also use it as a liner on more natural days. It doesn't look to exciting in the pan but I've found this to be a good basic and essential shadow that I do use everyday. I'll defiantly buy again when I run out.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Blanc Type - Matte2
candyrivera 8/10/2010 9:11:00 PM
This shadow is incredibly smooth and a blending dream! This shadow is perfect for blending out harsh lines, for a base, a highlight, and for a lid color. This is one of the best shadows I have ever bought. It's great for erasing little mistakes made with shadow as well. This shadow is a bit on the light side so it can be overdone sometimes, but is great for mixing with other colors as well, so if it looks a little too light I lightly apply a light brown or taupe shadow over it. I use this everyday now. This was a great investment!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soft Brown
candyrivera 8/10/2010 9:02:00 PM
I ADORE this shadow! It's such a lovely warm peachy brown that has many uses. I'm N25 for reference and neutral, slightly warm skin tone. I use this in my everyday look in the crease and with more smokey looks on my lids. I do not think this would suit very many cool toned ladies because, when on is a very warm slightly orangey brown. I love how warm this shadow is, it really gives me a bright and clean look. I didn't think this would look good on me since it was so very warm but I'm so glad I bought this, I use it all the time. This shadow is also very smooth and blends very easily. It's a must have! I will always repurchase!

Eye Shadow -MAC - parfait amour shadow
candyrivera 8/10/2010 8:50:00 PM
I really like this color, although I don't use it very often. When I first bought it I kind of regretful. It's a very blue based violet and didn't think I'd ever wear it but, when ever I do purple looks a usually pick this up, it's nice for mixing with other colors and the pigmentation of this shadow is nice. It goes on very smooth, has great color pay off, and it easy to blend. It's a cool toned shadow and I think it looks very pretty on it's own but, since I'm a little warm I have to mix it with some other warmer shadows to pull it off. I do enjoy this color even though it's not always used, I'm glad I have it around when I need it.

Eye Primer -NARS - Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
candyrivera 8/7/2010 11:47:00 PM
I hate to bring down the good reviews but this was a big disappointment for me. I was running out of my beloved Too Faced Shadow Insurance and thought I'd give this a go. I do not have oily or dry skin for reference (I'm in between)... The packaging first off was a little annoying, you don't have too much control over how much product you get out of it, I'm not too sure how you're going to get the rest of the product out when you're running low (I hate the thought of throwing away a product that could last for two months or more). I also noticed that the the doe foot applicator pushes a lot of air in the tube as well, which makes me a little nervous of it drying out too quickly or going bad. The texture of the primer itself was nice. It wasn't too oily or heavy, it dries completely clear (comes out a little whitish) and almost instantly. The primer didn't irritate my eyes at all either. My big problem with this primer is that it didn't make blending easy and also didn't do my shadows any justice in color vibrancy. It made made my shadows apply blotchy and had to layer my shadow over and over in order to get the proper pigmentation out of my shadows. My eyes became a little sore from my very soft brushes from trying to blend and layer over and over in order to get the same look and effect that my TFSI gave me. I just thought this primer was overrated and didn't preform any better (but worst) than my TFSI which is cheaper ($18 - 0.35 oz ) and contains more in the tube then this primer ($23 - 0.26 oz ). I even did a series of swatches on my arms with my regular base and the Nars one. I could tell a difference in how even the shadow was and how vibrant the shadows looked. My regular base won the test. I also asked my husband which ones he thought looked better, his answer were the ones that had the TFSI (he didn't know which were which). This primer didn't seem to last any longer than my current primer either. I know people with oily skin doesn't mesh well with TFSI so maybe this would work better for someone with more oily lids than me but, I wasn't impressed at all with this primer. I'd much rather use a painterly paint pot base (which are nice for oily lids too) or stay with my current primer over this one.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Pink About It [DISCONTINUED]
candyrivera 6/29/2010 3:41:00 PM
This is such a great color! It's a bright coral pink, I'd say it was a warm tone lipstick as well. Whenever I wear this my grey eyes really pop for some reason. This makes my lips look so kissable and really brighten ups my face. I'm a N25 and it looks perfect. I think very fair and tanner tones would look great in this as well. I just think that this wouldn't really flatter cooler tones. The color pay off is good, I went about 3 hours after needing to reapply, that's with running errands and talking a lot. The down side I found it that you need to have conditioned lips before you apply this or it can emphasize lines and dryness. Also I would highly recommend wearing foundation/concealer or a lip insurance, because I found that this lipstick can be hard to "stick" onto lips, but no longer had this problem after applying foundation to my lips first. Also if you're hesitant or prefer something other than a red lip, this is a beautiful alternative. It gives you the same classic and classy effect. It think this is a great elegant and summer color. I would repurchase! Also this is extremely close to Nars Niagara lipstick. Nars seems a bit more red and darker, in my opinion, and the finish is a little different as well. I actually prefer this over Nars though.
