Liquid -MAC - Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I really love the way this foundation looks when I first put it on, but after a few hours I am incredibly oily and it slides right off my face. I am an NC20/NC25 (with self tanner which I'm usually always wearing) and I got the color 2.0 and it matched my skin PERFECTLY. Even if I forgot to put self tanner on for a few days, this foundation still adjusted and settled into my skin color (and bc of the self tanner, I am always having difficulty finding a good foundation shade) When first applied, it is very similar to studio fix fluid-only it doesn't look as heavy (but still buildable coverage). After about an hour or two my face becomes incredibly oily and I need to blot right then..and after about 4 or 5 hours it is completely gone (it's unfortunate bc my skin is not that oily to begin with). The matchmaster also comes with a pump which is fantastic and the bottle is a bit taller than the pro longwear bottle...For now I will stick with MAC pro longwear foundation, which I love because it doesnt wear off during my long days. .

Eye Shadow -MAC - Texture

I received this in a swap to make up for a mishap that had happened and when I saw it I truly thought I wouldn't be able to make it work. There is a fine line I walk when I wear warmer eyeshadow colors and the effect of disease ridden eyeballs it tends to give me.. but I absolutely LOVE this eyeshadow! The color looks a bit orange-ier than soft brown with a small amount of glitter-but not chunky glitter. More like light shimmer. I have cool, fair skin with blonde hair and blue eyes and I love how natural this eyeshadow looks on me. I usually pair it with brule all over the lid, this in the crease, sometimes mixed with soft brown in the crease, and espresso on the outer corner (maybe grain or naked lunch or brule as a highlight). The way it blends together looks completely natural and perfect for day time wear. This just goes to show you that you shouldn't knock it til you try it! :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Folie

I'm a little disappointed in this eyeshadow because it comes off too red on me. I know it is described as a reddish brown by MAC, but this looks a little purpley on my cool fair skin. It almost looks as though I have a black eye or I didn't get enough sleep. :( Oh well, off to find a truer, dark warm brown!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 5 of 5
busterbrown16 8/2/2011 10:13:00 PM

Absolutely my HG summer foundation! I love love love this foundation because it is mattifying so I don't need powder over it (which I hate wearing in the summer). I am a mix of 30 and 40 and while it is very expensive, I received both of mine in a swap :) I put one little blob of #30 on my finger and one little blob of #40 on top of it, tap them together to mix them and dot it on my face to rub in with my fingers and then I just dab/rub it with my wet beauty blender and no joke it gives me the most flawless finish! You cannot even tell I have makeup on and I hardly need much more makeup after that. Gorgeous. In the winter, my skin is more dry so I switch to the HD foundation which I also love (mix of #120 & #127). Makeup forever is the best, go to sephora and get a sample of either of them!

Moisturizers -Origins - VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-boosting moisturizer with Mangosteen
rated 1 of 5
busterbrown16 5/19/2011 9:49:00 PM

I was disappointed in this product because I had heard so many wonderful things about it. I thought the concept was great that it could be used as a tinted moisturizer, but unfortunately it made me break out (I have sensitive skin, but it is sensitive to redness, not pimples). It also made my face extremely greasy after a couple of hours from the time I would put it on and turned orange! Very sad bc I am a big fan of Origins!

Misc Beauty Tools -Olay - Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
rated 5 of 5
busterbrown16 1/24/2011 2:08:00 PM

I absolutely LOVE this face brush! I bought it at CVS for $30 and it does an amazing job at removing all of the makeup/dirt on my face. It comes with a small size face wash, which is nice, but I use my regular face wash with it. After a few weeks of use, I can tell my face is looking much better because my skin can absorb my moisturizer more efficiently. I haven't had any breakouts since I started using it and it is even that time of the month to get them. Definitely worth a try if you're thinking about spending all the money on the clarisonic brush which is priced outrageously.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 1 of 5
busterbrown16 11/24/2010 9:48:00 PM

I was really looking forward to loving this palette, and while I do love the range of colors- the quality of the eyeshadows do not compare to my MAC eyeshadows. I absolutely LOVE MAC bc their products blend nicely and last forever..but when I used these eyeshadows, my eyelids get shiny and you can't tell what I did to my eyes except that they are a little darker and It is NOT flattering. It was not worth $50 and the colors are most definitely dupe-able. Mines up for swap

Eyes -Unlisted Brand - Careprost~Generic Brand Latisse
rated 5 of 5
busterbrown16 10/24/2010 4:05:00 PM

This stuff is great and it truly worked on me. The main reason I love it is because it is $10 (I also got it at ADC dot com) so if I couldn't buy it there, I don't know that I would buy the actual latisse brand because I am just a poor college student.. but either way this is a review of careprost. I have been using it since June (it is now October) and my eyelashes are definitely LONGER! I did take pictures in the beginning, but even if I hadn't I would have noticed a difference. I don't use as much mascara anymore nor do I curl them with an eyelash curler as much(which used to be my makeup staple). My eyelashes are not that much thicker and they aren't darker either, however, I have half black/half blonde eyelashes so I personally think that makes a difference in just how pigmented this stuff can change your eyelashes. My eyelashes are still long and gorg, so two thumbs up!

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Girl Meets Pearl
rated 5 of 5
busterbrown16 10/24/2010 3:58:00 PM

I absolutely LOVE this product! It has the cutest packaging (as all benefits products do) and the bottom clicks for the product to disperse through the holes at the top and it's just the littlest amount. The actual product is more of a champagne/light bronze color (I'm very fair so that's how it looks on me). At first, when you first blend it, it looks more metallic but then when it dries it's shimmery. I use it as a highlighter because I personally don't like to have shimmer ALL over my face, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look good on other people! It makes my cheeks glowy looking and just absolutely gorgeous in all lighting.

Primer/ Corrector -Clinique - Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector
rated 1 of 5
busterbrown16 10/16/2010 7:54:00 PM

Is it just me or does this stuff MAXIMIZE your pores! I just want to say, I didn't buy this to minimize anything, I bought it because I read it was a good makeup primer. It IS good at mattifying skin, but my pores were HUGE a few hours later. I didn't even know what my pores looked like before this stuff. Perhaps for oily skin MUA's this may work because it's good at giving a matte look (I'm 23 so I like the look of a dewy face better), however, I wouldn't recommend this for anything else.

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
rated 2 of 5
busterbrown16 8/10/2010 1:58:00 PM

I used to like this stuff because it is not glittery or shimmery..it's just "shine-y" Then I moved into my apartment that has better lighting and I realized this puts a pinkish/whiteish cast on my face. I'm very fair as it is and then stuff makes me look ridiculous. I like the shine of it because it looks dewy, but there's got to be something else out there that does the same thing without the ghastly color it gives.

Blush -MAC - Blushcreme - Lilicent ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
busterbrown16 4/16/2010 12:49:00 AM

I don't this is blush suits me. I like the texture and how long it lasts, but I am an NW15-20 and I feel like this makes me look somewhat clownish. It is too dark, I think I'll put it up for swap.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Soft Coeur Massage Bar (The Honeymooner)
rated 4 of 5
busterbrown16 4/4/2010 12:31:00 AM

This smells absolutely amazing! It is a sweet honey, chocolatey smell and I just want to eat it. I LOVE LUSH massage bars and my boyfriend even liked this one because it wasn't too overpowering. A few things I didn't like about it was the fact that it was the same price as the other bars and considerably smaller. Also, pieces of the brown chocolate part of the bar rub off on your skin which isn't very fun when you're giving a massage ;) It can easily be rubbed away, but it feels a bit grainy when that happens. Overall, I would probably repurchase this because it is so yummy smelling.

Skincare - Face -MAC - Fix+
rated 5 of 5
busterbrown16 3/22/2010 11:52:00 PM

I would bathe in this stuff if I could. I.seriously.love.it. I have very sensitive skin that is acne prone and turns red very easily (rosacea) and this stuff doesn't affect it at all. I like to spray it on a brush after I apply my face makeup and buff it on to get rid of that powdery look and it gives me a nice dewy glow, but not greasy at all bc its like water. Its great to put in the fridge too. It has a twist cap to close too which is nice when I travel. love love love.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
busterbrown16 3/12/2010 3:04:00 PM

FINALLY my HG foundation! I have been looking long and hard for this. I received this in a swap (nw15) it is absolutely perfect. I have been using Revlon Colorstay for YEARS and always felt pretty good about it, but it just wasn't QUITE right for some reason. Now I know it is because it wasn't the right color for me like my new MAC fluid is and it never sunk into skin like this does too. It blends so much easier than Revlon and the color of it and the satin finish literally makes it look like my own skin (only flawless). I definitely recommend trying to get it in a swap to try it out since it is a bit pricey.
