I tried the first BB cream from Garnier and thought it was a great product, but I'm on the oily side and couldn't keep it. When I found out that it came out with a product for oily skin, I was really looking forward to it because I thought it would be the same product, but for people like me!
However, this BB cream really sucked! I gotta admit though that my skin is actually a little dry without proper moisture. So best of both worlds right -_-
Anyways, this formula at first application brought out the little details on my skin, such as those tiny dry patches and pores. That would NEVER happen when I put on normal moisturizer!
I'm just frustrated and disappointed at the same time. I was really looking forward to simplifying my beauty routine with a shine-free bb cream. So on I go to continue my hunt...
I ONLY use this at night because it's more than enough! Before, I used chapstick before I went to bed, but woke up with a desert on my mouth! But when I use Lip Therapy, I wake up with super soft lips. Additionally, I feel like it works pretty well throughout the day. I apply lip stick every now and then to add some moisture, because I hear lip balms actually peel your lips, but overall, my lips are no longer severely dry, just because I apply this baby at night.
Okay, there's a lot of reviews about using turmeric as a skincare product, but what about makeup? For people with YELLOW UNDERTONES? Correct me if there actually is a section about turmeric as makeup though...
Anyways, I googled relentlessly over fixing the color undertone of my foundation. You see, I absolutely love my foundation because the formula compliments my type of skin and it's drug store affordable. However, it was way too pink and growing tired of finding the "perfect shade," which would come in high end foundations or bad quality ones, I decided to use turmeric powder, which certain blogs and videos suggested.
As a result, it WORKED. My face matched with the rest of me. People think I don't wear foundation... It's great. Plus, the formula stayed the same!
The mixing part does get a little tricky though, gotta admit. A little goes a long way for this powder. I just SPRINKLE a bit onto a dollop of foundation and stir stir stir. Some people supposedly put the turmeric right into the foundation bottle, but I put a dollop of foundation and turmeric in a little jar. Another thing to watch out for is that the powder doesn't dissolve, so I pick up the foundation lightly with my brush, not scooping it all up. This may seem like a lot of work for certain people, but I think this is a fun discovery. I feel like Macgyver doing this ;)
Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush

Wow, just wow... I can't believe during my whole liquid-foundation-life, I used my fingers, sponges, and a flat brush. The results are just not the same... With my fingers, it's applied a little blotchy and uneven, with a sponge it's applied too lightly, and with my flat brush, it ends up streaky and takes more time. But with this brush, my foundation always looks like it's applied professionally! Of course it's called "Expert Face." I have pretty dry skin now because of this weather, but the brush makes sure my foundation goes on smooth :) The bristles are soft yet sturdy and it's easy to spot clean! I just spray alcohol onto a napkin and my brush is almost good as new! I can't get over how it acts like a luxury department store brand, but is affordable as a drugstore brand. AMAZING...
Pressed Powders -Revlon - ColorStay Pressed Powder

For someone with oily skin, I was not feeling this product... I've been using this for more than a week and let me say that it did not do the job when it came to oil control or even setting... I would reapply (and even blot with sheets!) every hour and in the end, I was left with the shiniest face and cakey patches... YUCK. I'm better off without any makeup on than with this :(
This might officially be my default daytime moisturizer! I've been through various types of moisturizers. Some broke me out, some showed off the dry patches of my skin (UGH), and some were soo greasy :( My skin is annoyingly hard to please! Then I found this moisturizer that fit all my standards!
Got this from Marshall's only because it was a good deal and a cute color. But after applying the nail polish, I admit I was infatuated ;) Even if the polish was being sold at full price, I would have definitely bought it anyway. I got compliments! I have a notion that it would look good on almost all skin tones. I'm tan and it looked good. Plus, I met a light-skinned blonde (saying blonde for the emphasis haha) who had the exact same color and it also looked good!
This stuff is like voodoo magic... I just put the TINIEST and I mean TINIEST amount on a spot on my face and it applies beautifully. The consistency is soo thick that it's a big bang for the little bucks you spend on it. I just put my foundation over it and the spot's gone! Of course the best part is that it doesn't break me out! :)
This foundation is great! I actually found a foundation that fits my shade! I'm tan, so it's sooo challenging for me to find a foundation with the right yellow pigments, and here it is! I also love that this stuff doesn't break me out! This foundation lasts long too. I've worn this on looong days, checked my face, and no new breakout in sight. Plus, I'm oily and this foundation doesn't make me look glossy or severe.
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Oh my gosh, there's sooo many reviews that could be essays. So I'll just keep it as short as I can. At first, I started using this as eye makeup remover. And it's GREAT! It might as well be free and it removes all the pigments in an INSTANT. Now, I also use this as a moisturizer at night. My skin is acne-prone, so when I use anti-aging products, I break out instantly. But with this EVOO, I just DON'T breakout. It does get a little messy though, so I make sure I have cotton balls, buds, etc. So it's great. Get it. Cheap for skin care and also, hair!
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Now, my lids are oily and the type that whenever I open my eyes, my eyeshadow doesn't show. So when I apply this gel liner, it immediately smudges, so I just stick to liquid eyeliner. However, I found this useful as a sort of stencil before applying liquid eyeliner, since this easily wipes off my skin. And recently, I tried applying this to my waterline and turns out it's GREAT! I almost always avoid putting liner on my waterline because it always ALWAYS fades off, smears, etc. For my type of eyes, this is solely for waterlines and stenciling cat eyes. Additionally, I also found out that my cousin has the same thing. However, it cooperates with her perfectly. Her skin type is dry and she has higher eyelids, so eyeshadow would show on her. If you have the same type of eyes as my cousin's I'd recommend this to you because the pigments are rich, the application is smooth and easy, and it looks good. But if you're like me, you'd have limits.
I didn't give it a perfect score, which I wish I could, but the ONLY BIG con I found in this is that I broke out from it :( I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a great coverage, oily, and such, except for those who are in of a skin clearing process. The finish is really smooth, the consistency is a bit thick and sticky, which I think is great for people that need a makeup that stays throughout the day. It just does NOT budge, so I BET it would stay when you're swimming and such. I loved this, but I want my skin to be as clear as can be, so I just stopped...
Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (color 001)

LOVE this primer... Not only is it totally affordable, but it works well too! Gasps. This applies sooo smoothly on my skin, even when I got flaky during the winter! I didn't break out at all wearing this! My makeup stays in place!
Moisturizers -Eucerin - Extra Protective Moisture Lotion SPF30
bunnygrl468 3/19/2012 7:35:00 PM
I originally got this because my dermatologist recommended it. Now, I wouldn't say it's this amazing and incredible miracle worker, but it does a great job as drugstore moisturizer. This is great for me over the summer, as I get extremely oily. Plus, my makeup always gets darker later in hot days, so the thin white film this moisturizer leaves makes a good balance. However, I get really dry over the winter, so I had to cast this moisturizer to the side, as it left flakes on my face. This is great for oily people or those looking for a faster and SLIGHT alternative to a face primer.
Eye Primer -NYX - HD High Definition Eyeshadow Base

Maybe it's because I have oily lids, so for dry people, there's a chance. As for me, this product creases wayyy too easily! I applied this primer, left it by itself for 10 seconds, then this thing gave me lines throughout my lids! I thought applying setting powder over the primer would help it crease less because I do in fact like the other features of this primer, like the fact that I don't break out and that eye shadow applies pretty well. However, I still creased a lot, as if I put grease on my lids. It's actually worse for me to apply this than to wear eyeshadow alone! I don't get the love on this product, sorry everyone!
