Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder

This product was AWFUL!!! I really should have listened to all the negative reviews and not wasted my time and money on something that I have to return. I normally wear Mac's Studio Fix Foundation Powder and have been for years but I wanted to try something new and cheap. Bad idea! I decided to wear this powder today to a meeting at church. It went on nicely. I applied it with a flat top powder brush. The color seemed great. When I got into the car and my husband drove off and he looked at me kind of strangely. I looked in the mirror and my face had turned ORANGE!!! I told him that I wanted to go home and wash it off but we were already running late. He laughed at me a couple of times while I sat there horrified and tried to cover it up with blot powder. By the time I got to the meeting I was paranoid!! I hoped no one noticed but it seemed as though everyone was staring. Afterwards I asked a friend how my makeup looked and she said that the color was "all wrong". Thank God for her honesty. I also found the powder to be quite drying which is a plus because I have oily skin but it was a little too drying. I imagine that this powder would work in the summer if it didn't oxidize on my skin. If it's not broken don't fix it. I will stick with Mac.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Dans Cortibalm

I purchased this product after hearing about all of the rave reviews and after suffering from chronic chapped lips. My lips had began to peel, bleed and itch around the lip line and my lips were constantly dry. I am not sure what caused my condition but nothing else was working to heal them. I had tried all kinds of lip treatments and balms to no avail. Not being able to find the product anywhere, I ordered it through my local pharmacy. As soon as it arrived, I applied it. I was totally blown away by the immediate results. My lips were instantly hydrated and the peeling stopped. I left it on overnight and in the morning, my lips were totally healed! As one of the other reviewers stated, the healthy pink color of my lips returned. My lips are now soft, hydrated and SEXY looking. Ladies if you have problems with chapped dry lips, please give Cortibalm a try. It's worth every penny. With a money back guarantee, you can't beat it!
I purchased the CVS brand of MOM. Very cheap but effective. My skin gets very oily in the summer and I go through blotting papers like water. After some hesitation, I decided to try the MOM. I was almost blown away. I use powder foundation and usually my oily skin just fades it all away by the end of the day where it looks as though I applied no makeup at all but not with MOM. I apply a thin layer of MOM all over my face with a wedge, wait for it to dry and than apply my makeup. This stuff ROCKS!! By mid-day, I am still matte with a little bit of oil. With MOM, I only have to blot once a day as opposed to 3 - 4 times a day. I don't really use it in the winter because my skin isn't as oily than and it can be a little drying. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because nothing is foolproof. I do have to blot at least once a day BUT it's better than all of the other primers that I have tried. To all of the ladies out there: make sure that you purchase PLAIN UNFLAVORED MOM not the kind with the mint or orange flavor. I think it makes a difference on how well it works.
WOW!!!! I really couldn't be any happier with these tinted lip balms. Keep in mind that I am a person who has a very DIFFICULT time finding lipsticks and glosses that agree with me. What I mean by that is that I am not really a lipstick person but more of a gloss person. However, most colors don't suit me too well. Lipsticks are either too matte or have too much color and most lip glosses are either too sheer and come out looking clear on my lips no matter what. I simply ADORED Mac Lip Gelee in "Straight to the head" but unfortunately it was a limited edition and no longer available. With that said I have been searching and searching for the perfect color for my lips. After reading the great reviews regarding the Palladio tinted lip balms I was very leery. I have never worn a tinted lip balm in my life and I just assumed that they were very sheer colors that would be no different than a clear gloss. I headed out to my local Sally's today and purchased 3 colors: Golden Pink, Bronzy Pink and Cotton Candy. I held my breath when I applied them and hoped for the best. WOW!!! I was pleasantly surprised. The Golden Pink is my favorite color. It's looks just like the name. Pink with golden shimmer. I happen to be a person who LOVES shimmer so this wasn't a problem for me. I tried on the other 2 colors and they are nice too. These balms are not too sheer but pigmented just right. They are like a cross between a lipstick and a gloss. The texture is not thick, goopy or sticky but very moisturizing. A lot of ladies have been complaining about the staying power of these, but what I did first prior to applying them was apply one coat of "Sealed with a Kiss", lipstick sealant. This is an item that can also be purchased at Sally's. It gave these balms HOURS of staying power without being too dry. The colors really do agree with my skin tone which is a relief and I plan to purchase these again and again!! Kudos to PALLADIO!! They hit these out of the ballpark. :)
Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent

This is a nice sexy summer scent. It's quite expensive but worth it. I purchased my bottle last year and still have more than half left. It goes on light and airy but the scent lasts all day. I get many compliments on this fragrance and what's nice is that at the end of the day, I still smell great!! Although it's a limited edition fragrance that only comes out once a year (summer), the best time to purchase it is at the beginning of May. If you wait until June or July, it may be too late!
Cleansers -Equate - 3-1 Facial Cleansing Towelettes
bunnyb 5/12/2012 10:39:00 PM
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been purchasing the Kirkland brand wipes from Costco for about 2 years now. Have been fairly satisfied with them but wanted to try something different. Went to Walmart today and purchased the Equate Facial Cleansing Wipes in a box of 60. Brought them home and decided to compare the ingredients to the Kirkland brand. The ingredients are EXACTLY the same word for word no kidding. I was really shocked. The difference between the 2 wipes are this: The Equate brand wipes are a little bit smaller and much DRIER! They are both quilted but I felt as though the Kirkland brand removes makeup a little bit better because of the moistness factor. As far as pricing is concerned you get 150 wipes from Costco for about $11 and 120 wipes for about $8 or $4 for 60 at Walmart. Do the math, I guess it just about evens out give or take a few dollars. What I like most about the Equate brand is the cute box and packaging where as the Kirkland brand doesn't come in a box only plastic packaging. I will probably stick to the Kirkland brand and keep the equate box for the Kirkland Wipes.
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
bunnyb 2/24/2012 7:04:00 AM
WOW!!! This product is great. I really wasn't expecting much even after reading all of the reviews. In looking at the ingredients and noticing that it contains 41% petroleum jelly (vaseline), I just figured that it would not work any better than 100% petroleum jelly. So why did I purchase it? Because I was desperate for something to heal my rough, dry, cracked, peeling and bleeding lips that somehow surfaced during this winter. My lips had NEVER been in this condition before in my life! I had used everything on them from blistex to chapstick to carmex to EVERYTHING!! I decided that I would make an appointment with my doctor after my purchase of aquaphor if it didn't work. I applied it to my lips and within minutes they felt better. I figured so what it's only temporary. I was wrong! By the end of the day, my lips were no longer peeling or sore. I applied it overnight and by the next morning my lips were COMPLETELY HEALED!!! So, to answer anyone who may have questions that it's just plain petroleum jelly and works the same, the answer is NO!!! This stuff, I believe with the added ingredients in it, work together to be effective. I have since used it on other parts of my body like my feet and hands and the back of my neck where I have Eczema. Almost totally cleared it up and my feet and hands are finally moisturized. SO glad I tried it!! Totally worth it!!
Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair (Serum)
bunnyb 10/29/2011 10:32:00 PM
Okay, so I purchased this product after using a sample of it for about 3 weeks. I didn't really expect this product to do anything for me, why I don't know but I just didn't. After hearing so many rave reviews, I thought that I would try a sample first rather than buy it to be disappointed. Seeing as how I have always had a problem with dry skin, especially in the winter, I never thought that I would find a product that would really help it. Although the rep at the counter didn't indicate anything about this product being hydrating, I was expecting some other result. Instead, I woke up to extra moisturized skin day after day after day. I had a small wrinkle next to my mouth that has vanished by about 70% since using this serum. My skin has never been more hydrated and my skin tone has evened out. I broke down and purchased the biggest bottle that they had and was able to get a free gift with purchase which included another sample of the night repair. There was no way that I was going to pass up a deal like that. Yes, it's pricey but it is worth every penny. Sometimes you get EXACTLY what you pay for and this one is a winner in my book!
Lip Treatments -C.O. Bigelow - My Favorite Lip Balm
bunnyb 10/4/2011 8:00:00 AM
This is a review for the C.O. Bigelow My favorite NIGHT BALM. Although this stuff is pretty expensive at about $7 for a very small tube, it's worth it. I have used other products such as the Rose Salve at night on my lips not to mention other balms and cocoa butters but nothing comes close to this stuff. It actually hydrates the lips and penetrates them, whereas the other products just kind of sit on top of the lips. The nice thing about this product is that you only need to use a little bit. You wake up in the morning with soft, hydrated, "come hither" lips! LOL!!
Skincare - Body -Sally Hansen - Airbrush Legs in Light Glow
bunnyb 6/8/2011 6:11:00 PM
Yes, I am African American and I wear this product with no problem at all. A lot of black women have complained that it doesn't work for them, however, for me, it works like a charm. I have a caramel complexion and I use the color TAN GLOW. It matches my legs PERFECTLY!!!! The trick to getting this to look right is to use the correct application. First of all, I DON'T use my hands, I use a 'skunk" foundation brush (two-toned part black part white). I spray the product onto the brush and simply buff it onto my legs OR I spray it on my legs and use the brush to buff it in. I prefer however, to spray the product onto the brush. I buff it on in circular motions and my legs end up looking airbrushed. I let the product set for a minute or two and than I SET it with the DERMABLEND SETTING POWDER. My legs stay BEAUTIFUL all day with no rub off, transfer or melt down. I use the product because I have AWFUL varicose veins on my legs as well as my feet. They are purpilish/black in color. This product does a pretty good job of covering them up. Thanks Sally Hansen!! I hope this helps someone!!
Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care
bunnyb 5/22/2011 7:47:00 PM
I had heard about this product on another forum as being a dupe for the mac lip prep & prime, which is why I was interested in purchasing it. So to be quite honest, I really wasn't expecting this to be any different from any other lip balm that I have used. I generally don't use lip primers and those that I have used in the past made ABSOLUTELY no difference in the way that my lipstick applied or looked afterwards. Just to give you a little background about my lips, they are usually quite dry and when I apply lipstick it either tends to leave a line of demarcation right at the center of the lips which look HORRIBLE or the colors are either too vibrant and it's difficult to tone them down. That is the main reason that I prefer to wear glosses. So anyway, I purchased the Nivea a kiss of smoothness, applied it to my lips, waited a few moments and applied my lipstick. WOW!!! Is all that I can say. My lips were smooth and HYDRATED but not overly glossy. My lipstick looked almost airbrushed and lasted for HOURS!! I also noticed that applying the balm prior to using a highly pigmented lipstick like red or orange, it didn't leave my lips stained with color after I removed it. This is definitely a plus for me. It also toned the color of my too harsh looking lipsticks way down to the point where I can actually wear them now. I think that this is a great product as a lipstick primer, even though it is not advertised as such. Another point to keep in mind: I wore this prior to applying my lip glosses too and they looked much better than just applied to plain lips with nothing at all. Give it a try!!!
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Nutra Nail 5 to 7 Day Growth Calcium Formula
bunnyb 5/12/2011 10:06:00 PM
This product really does work. After nearly 2 weeks of application my nails grew at least 50%!!! NO JOKE!!! This is coming from someone whose nails were thin, transparent, weak and just simply would not grow without splitting and breaking. I apply it about 2 - 3 times a day especially at night and the difference has been dramatic. Keep in mind that I also use this along with another product called Hard As Hoof nail strengthening cream. I believe that with these 2 products combined, I have found a winning combination.
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Hard As Hoof Nail Strengthening Cream
bunnyb 5/9/2011 9:54:00 PM
After hearing all of the great reviews regarding this product, I decided to try it. My nails have always been really thin, weak and easily broken. Therefore it has always been hard to grow and maintain nice long nails. After only a few days of using this product CONSISTENTLY (3 times a day or more), I must admit that I am now a believer! My nails are now hard for the first time ever WITHOUT the use of a topcoat or polish. It's almost unbelievable how great this product is. My nails are now starting to grow in leaps and bounds! I just simply can't say enough about it. I think the key to using this product is to apply it right before bed. It does a fantastic job of hardening the nails overnight. During the day just be sure to use it at least twice, preferably AFTER washing hands. For only a couple of bucks a jar, it is far worth the price and I can already tell that the product is going to last me for quite a while. I plan to stock up just in case the company decides to stop making it, which I hope they never do.
I first purchased this cloth when it was fairly new on the market and was very disappointed from the start. It was just okay for removing my makeup but the smell that this cloth gave off was horrible. I remember using it only twice and it smelled awful. Even though I washed it and rinsed it well, it smelled like 12 day old socks! I threw it in the garbage!
Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
bunnyb 3/17/2011 7:27:00 AM
I gotta say that I really like this product. Normally, I just use water to remove my eyeliner because I use a water based product. But recently, I switched to a waterproof eyeliner. I have used eye makeup removers in the past that just really irritated my eyes, hence the reason for using a water based eyeliner. After reading all of the positive reviews, I decided to jump on the band wagon with this one. First of all the packaging is not great because the top is really hard to get off, it's designed the way medicine bottles are. Once you get past opening it, it's smooth sailing after that. I knew that I was in love with this after I used it for the first time. It removed my waterproof eyeliner with no stinging, burning or irritation! That's a plus for me because I have sensitive eyes and I wear contacts. YAY!! For those of you have said that the product is a little too oily, just make sure that you are rinsing the product off with cool water as the directions state. As for contact lens wearers, I would suggest that you remove the contacts PRIOR to removing your eye makeup if at all possible. Take the day off is EXPENSIVE but I think that one bottle will last a long time.
