Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:58:00 AM
I used the lotion for more than three months on my stretchmarks, with no visible results... I was kind of disappointed because it gets raves on here like crazy, but it just didn't work with my skin. I wasn't crazy for the smell either- it was very synthetic smelling to me. I am currently trying Bio Oil, and will write a review after three months time!

Blush -Lily Lolo - Blush in Doll Face
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:51:00 AM
I received a sample of this along with the foundation samples I ordered, and I must say I am not impressed with it. It is supposed to be good for fairer skin tones, but I am whiter than a ghost and it did not show up on me AT ALL! it just wasn't there! It's loaded with sparkles and I couldn't even see those on my cheeks.. I have never experienced this with a product before so I am at a loss, I guess it just doesn't work for me!

Powder -Lily Lolo - Mineral Cosmetics Porcelain Foundation
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:48:00 AM
I really like this MMU company.. even though the conversion rate is almost double for me (I am in Canada). I have tried EDM, BE, Alima, and a couple others with no luck- and I must say, I am impressed with how pale the porcelain really is. Having said this, it could stand to be a tad paler (was just a little too dark for me and too warm toned). It doesn't settle into pores which i liked, and it made my pores kind of disappear which was a big bonus. It really did provide heavy coverage and covered most of my blemishes and problem areas. I like how it also contains titanium dioxide (sunscreen). I think I may purchase the full size despite the colour being a tad off (I can always mix it with a white powder) in the future, but right now I still have a couple other companies to try.

Lipstick -MAC - Strawbaby
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:44:00 AM
I adore this shade, and that says a lot considering my lipstick stash only consists of dark blood reds! I wanted to try a sheerer candy coloured shade for the spring and summer, for my off days when I don't wear my red lips, and this is perfect! On me, the glitter isn't noticeable at all, and it gives my lips that perfect "i just ate strawberry jam" look to them. It's definitely a great candy/jam sheer pinkish red, and the formula is lustre so I definitely love that about it! It lasts pretty long on my lips, through coffees and foods! I would like to say i'd repurchase, but I guess I won't because of MAC's damn LEs!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused Frosted Lemon Cookie
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:40:00 AM
I bought this scent in a body mist, along with the rice krispie treats, and this one blew me away! I wanted to get something citrusy yet cakey for my hair in the summer (these body mists are amazing for the hair without weighing them down!) and this is the perfect concoction! The site says: Lemony and cakey with just a touch of powdered sugar, and this is highly accurate. I never thought in a million years I would have ordered anything citrusy, because I love gourmand fragrances that revolve around cake, cookies, etc... but there is something about lemon mixed in that truly lifts my spirits! The lasting power is fairly good for a body mist, but I don't mind spraying it a lot during the day just to refresh. It will be perfect for summer in my hair, and I will definitely be repurchasing this in the EDP form!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused - Rice Krispie Treats
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:35:00 AM
Just a huge WOW on this rendition of one of my favorite childhood (and now!) treats :) I ordered from b&i without reading any reviews, but I am so glad I did. I ordered this in the body mist (also for my hair) and I am pleased with how accurate it is! It smells identical to warm vanilla krispies mixed with melted marshmallows, even right down to the salt from the butter. The lasting power is fairly decent- but I am ok with spraying it a lot due to it being a body mist. My DH gets so mad because these scents make him hungry, but he indeed loves the foody scents. I am so pleased with b&i, and I think i will order this in the EDP next time :)

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:30:00 AM
What a crappy product- this totally falls into "you get what you pay for". I bought this because L'oreal's lineur intense just doesn't do it for me anymore, and I wanted a quick fix until I could afford to buy MAC's. First off, the applicator is totally harsh and i am almost sure it could have cut open my eyelid skin! (LOL ! OK, not that harsh but harsh enough!). Second, the formula= complete sh*t. It was not consistent with going on the brush, so i would end up with half a line, and then nothing, and when i dipped into it to grab more, it would do the same... Oh, and don't think about fixing your goofs with this liner- because it's like trying to get paint off with water... I had to rub and tug on my eyes with an eye makeup remover for over 10 minutes... and by then my eyes were so red and angry that i didn't even want to try again. The formula just wasn't good- either they didn't fill up the bottle, or it was too thick to latch onto the brush- or it literally is paint.. haha! you judge! Ingredients: C8-9 Isoparaffin, C11-12 Isoparaffin, Polysilicone-6, Isododecane, Trihydroxystearin, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben. May contain: Black 2, Chromium Hydroxide green, Iron oxides, Titanium dioxide, Ultramarines.

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:12:00 AM
For starters, I used this with the shampoo for a full month and my hair has never been this greasy in my entire life. I currently have super long, thick and coloured hair- which is prone to breakage and frizzies... and let me tell you- this might as well be grease in a bottle. I sat in the shower and rinsed this out for what seemed like 5 minutes, and still my hair dried greasy. I soooo wanted this to work for me, but unfortunately, it doesn't! I am currently now using this as a shaving cream! Ingredients: Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl, Dimethylamine, Raspberry Juice, Hydrolized Silk, Glutamic Acid, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, EDTA, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Red 33

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:10:00 AM
I really really wanted to like this shampoo- I have been on the hunt for an HG status 'poo and conditioner, however this isn't it. I gave up buying high end after trying B&b and coming out with hay hair, so when i saw this on the shelves, I thought I would give it a try. I have now tried it for a full month and my hair hasn't been greasier. I even had to change my nice massaging water pik showerhead to the old crazy "strip my skin off" pressure one, and still, greasy greasy mess! I used it in conjunction with the conditioner and my hair would dry greasy (Ew, i know!) And here is the worst part: I have severely dry, chemically coloured hair, which is way past my shoulders... I never ever thought I would be complaining about too much moisture, but alas, here i am! And this does not smell anything like raspberries to me.. the clairols team must have been suffering from bad congestion that week! I will not repurchase, and still my hunt continues! Ingredients: Water, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium chloride, Glycol Distearate, Dimethicone, Ammonium Xylenesulfonate, Citric acid, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Juice, Hydrolyzed silk, Cetyl Alcohol, Cocamide mea, Fragrance/Parfum, Polyquaternium-10, Sodium citrate, Hydrogenated polydecene, Sodium benzonate, Disodium EDTA, PEG-7M, Trimethylolpropane Tricapyrlate/Tricaprate, Propylene Glycol, Methyl-Chloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Red 33.

Moisturizers -Kiss My Face - Peaches and Creme moisturizer with AHA
buechmn 4/2/2008 12:04:00 AM
YIKES! i was so excited when i found this at my local SDM for $4.99, that I bought it without even thinking twice- but bad choice! I am currently on differin cream 0.1%, and still don't moisturize because nothing seems to do anything for my face in the way of moisturizing (i have tried tons of moisturizers with no good results), but stupid me! I applied this over my differin and I screamed like a mofo! OUCH! I have a high pain tolerance but this was horrifying... I must have looked like edvard munch's painting "the scream" or moreso, mcauley culkin in home alone when he applies the aftershave- this is how i definitely felt. And the scent- well at first I loved it, and found it very pleasant.. but it didn't fade! It lingered and lingered, and lingered.. through sleep and through the next day! And I must agree with most other reviewers below me, it started to smell like male cat urine! (EWWWW!) I am returning this despite how well it may work for everyone else- I find the scent to be the most obtrusive part- as it clashes with my perfumes!

Lips -My Lip Stuff - Marshmallow Krispies
buechmn 3/26/2008 10:37:00 PM
This was my first mylipstuff purchase, and I think this will be my HG! it smells like the real deal- vanilla rice krispies mixed with melting marshmallows and the slight salt from the butter. Her formula is really nice and doesn't dry out my lips too! I can't wait to try more of her stuff!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Habanera Duo
buechmn 3/26/2008 10:36:00 PM
I received this hot member in the sweetest RAOK ever! I lemmed it forever and when i got it, I sat and stared at how pretty it really is! First off, the minty sea-foam green colour is gorgeous in the pan, but it's even better on the skin! It makes my golden brown eyes POP (more than purple does FYI) and I haven't seen a colour close to it before in any brand. The second shade is a browny-burgandy-plum, with sparkles the colour of the minty-green, which is really cool IMO that they tied the two together. As with most other NARS e/s, the quality is amazing and they go on smooth and not chalky as some may suggest. I like to wear the green as the lid colour, and the plum colour in the crease- makes for a nice daytime look that can also carry into an evening look. I really hope they make this duo forever- This is my favorite e/s duo ATM!

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Amour de Cacao
buechmn 3/26/2008 10:32:00 PM
First off- I will start by saying I just recently fell in love with chocolate fragrances (But have always worn gourmand scents). Having said this, I received a sample of Serendiptious and fell hard for it. It had the perfect comfort zone for me, and invited my DH to snuggle closely with me... However, it was lacking staying power and intensity (Even though "I" enjoyed the subtley of it, I got annoyed when my DH said "i can barely smell it!) I almost bought a bottle until I bought a sample of Amour de cacao- and holy crap! This is EXACTLY what I wanted Serendiptious to be on me, and more! The lasting power is phenomenal on me, and my DH goes ga-ga for it! I find the orange is only present at first- and not overbearingly so, just a little bit.. then it fades to a milky chocolate, of which some say smells like cocoa puffs.. and truly it does!!! But I love it!!!! This is definitely my new HG fragrance... I love it for my skin and hair!

Fragrances -Laura Mercier - Creme Brulee Eau Gourmande
buechmn 3/26/2008 10:27:00 PM
I am not a hardcore cook, but I do like to make creme brulees (and any other french dessert) and I thought, because I like gourmand fragrances so much- that I would give this a try. Thank goodness I ordered a sample first because this is by far, THEE worst perfume I have ever smelt (topping even Chanel, Dior, etc for me... this says A LOT!) For one, it's overbearing, and not in a sweet foody way.. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's not a nice smell. It smells nothing like the dessert I often make, and in my opinion, it doesn't smell at all foody. I found it to be quite obtrusive to my nose- and reminded me of very old ladies who bathe in their stale and cheap perfumes and think they smell wonderful. I am sooooooooooo thankful i didn't order the body souffle either!!! phewf!!! What a disappointment :(

Moisturizers -Nivea - Visage Sensitive Balance day care for sensitive skin [DISCONTINUED]
buechmn 3/5/2008 12:52:00 PM
I really wanted to love this... I searched reviews one day for moisturizers and came across the high rating on this- I read the ingredients, and they seemed ok for my skin... So i bought this little tub for $9 and was horrified at how thick and greasy it was. I have been using it for a week now and I have greasy little cysts all over my face now... I am sooooooooooooooo not impressed! I am guessing it's from all the additives and the glycerin- which i am not having any luck with on my face. Into the bin this goes!
