Eyeliner -NARS - Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner - Via Veneto

Color me impressed! I am really surprised these dont get more attention. Finding an eyeliner that really lasts and doesnt smudge all over after a few hours has been tricky. The best I've found so far is MAC fluidlines, but I prefer the convenience of a pencil, so Ive kept trying....UD 24/7 are too soft and very smudgey. MUFE Aqua Eyes which are better, but still smudge, and are therefore better if you want to do a smokey eye. These NARS are very close to performning like the MAC fluidlines and are probably the best pencil out there. The color is also fantastic - super pigmented black, this is the boldest black eyeliner short of liquid. I also love that I can get a very precise thin line with this. I hate when eyeliner pencils are too soft, and this one is the perfect consistency that doesnt melt as you're applying, but also doesnt tug your eyelid. The only thing I dont like is the twist up format - I feel like you get ripped off, there is less in a twist up than regular pencils the same size, making it an even more expensive eyeliner because you'll run out faster.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Aussie Perk Me Up
bubbleheart 12/18/2011 3:46:00 PM
This is not a product for beginners to makeup. I think to truly appreciate it, you need to understand how to best use it for your face and once you do, it is truly an amazing versatile product. Most obviously and easily you can use it as a highlighter...its very fine and has a great pearly sheen rather than the glitter or shimmer of many highlighters. This gives you a true glowy look instead of sparkly. To use it as a concealer, you need to use a very light hand and the right brush to get the benefits out of this. The pearlescence can diffuse light and brighten darkened shadows or blemishes on your face. After you apply your foundation, a fluffy brush with a few specks of this brushed under your eyes can make you look more awake and counteract dark circles. For acne scars, a teeny tiny brush and a dab of this can reduce the darker appearance - you just have to blend it in well. You can also use as a light eyeshadow, or mix a bit in with your foundation to give a more sheer glowy look if you're finding your regular makeup too matte! The possibilities are endless with this product!

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Sunlight Color Corrector
bubbleheart 12/15/2011 2:59:00 PM
This stuff is fantastic! If you have a warm skintone with yellow undertones, this will banish redness like nothing else. And unlike traditional concealers, you can use just a few specks of this, and its invisible on your skin - no cakiness, no color mismatch. Make sure you have a really good detail brush and use just a tiny bit on a red blemish spot, and blend it in - voila, magically no more redness! If you want to cover a red nose or red cheeks, just use a bit of this stuff with a fluffy brush and it'll reduce it greatly. This has been a treasure product for covering active pimples and the red marks they leave behind.

Lip Treatments -Everyday Minerals - Sumptuous Lip Polish

I actually didn't buy this for myself and I probably wouldn't have picked it on my own. I don't really find much use for lip scrubs as an exfoliating cloth works a lot better. And given that, I can't really rave about this or any lip scrub for actual exfoliation...if it does rub away any dry skin it is minimal. However I found myself really liking this anyway. It feels nice and massaging on the lips, it tastes great if you leave the remnants on your lips and most impressive there is something in the formula that is very moisturizing. After using this I don't need gloss for a few hours! So overall I'm happy I have this and its much cheaper than a lot of other companies lip scrubs.

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Hibiscus
bubbleheart 5/30/2011 2:36:00 PM
Similar to one of the first reviews, I had been craving this lipstick since the moment I first saw swatches. I dont own many red lipstick colors, but this is the one I'd been looking for - a summery one instead of all the fall/winter typical reds. Unfortunately I dont consider this coral at all...my eyes see very little pink and not even that much orange - even though its more of a orange undertone red, its mostly just red. I didnt buy this to use full strength (I dont like bright lipstick on me), so I dab it on lightly and it just brightens my naturally deep red/mauve lips. I wish it had a bit more sheen/coral to it but its still very pretty and I love the way you can just throw it on and it defines my lips and brightens my whole face. Also love the surf packaging!

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Like Lady Bird Lake
bubbleheart 5/27/2011 4:07:00 PM
I really like this blush. I wasnt sure at first, because it seemed dark in the jar but its actually very pretty on my skin. Its a mid toned coral with very pretty pinky sheen to it - it definitely lives up to its name because it looks very much like a summery color. Because of the heavy orange undertone I'd definitely say you probably need a warm skintone for this - or a tan! I didnt wear this much in winter, but now that its getting warmer I am loving it! I first got this mostly because of the gorgeous description of it on the website and Im very happy I bought it - its a beautiful color.

Tinted Moisturizer -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer spf15
bubbleheart 5/21/2011 12:12:00 PM
I am overall pretty impressed with this tinted moisturizer. I dont always like tinted moisturizers just because most companies seem to make them 99% lotion and 1% "tinted" which doesnt do anything to cover ANY redness or imperfections I want concealed. Im not looking for foundation, but a little coverage is nice. Having said that, I think Hard Candy is one of the best I've tried as far as coverage goes in a tinted moisturizer. I dont usually use or like drugstore products (I didnt like Cover Girls tinted moisturizer very much) but I prefer this $7 one over many of the brands that Sephora etc sell. The one complaint I have, is with the color selection. I chose fair, the lightest - and though I am very happy they have a yellow toned shade (unlike most companies which are too pink on me), even fair is just a bit too dark for my skin most of the year and Im NC20. So Im not sure how anyone paler than me could wear any of the Hard Candy tinted moisturizers! In summer however, when I have a tan, this matches me quite well. I havent noticed any separating mentioned in other reviews and I've had this for 10 months. I also like that it doesnt make my skin oily or greasy - big plus!

Polishes -OPI - Do You Lilac It?
bubbleheart 5/12/2011 10:37:00 PM
Wow, Im surprised how popular this shade is! Unfortunately, this color was a huge disappointment for me. I was lemming a light purple shade, and in the store this looked pretty and given the 'lilac' in the name I thought it'd definitely be a nice spring/summer flower petal color. But when I did my mani, I was shocked how dark it is! It goes on darker than it even looks in the bottle and it was one of the most boring flat blah purples I've ever seen on my nails. Maybe its just my skintone, and partly my disappointment because I was wanting a more pastel leaning color but I did not like this at all. I was MUCH happier to find Rumples Wiggin.

Lip Gloss -Perfumeria Gal - Strawberry Lip Balm
bubbleheart 4/19/2011 9:23:00 PM
Ive reviewed a few of these...and I love the texture and everything - they're great lip balms. Soft, silky, long lasting and great smelling! I am really impressed with this strawberry scent as well. I usually dont have high hopes for strawberry scented cosmetics - they usually smell very fake and/or overly sweet like candy. This one is actually very nice....not the most authentic strawberry necessarily, but it smells a lot like strawberry iced tea! So, its super delicious smelling and summery, but not artificial or too sweet.

Lip Treatments -Perfumeria Gal - Violet Lip Balm
bubbleheart 4/7/2011 4:15:00 PM
I loooove the smell of this! It certainly wasnt what I was expecting though, I thought it would be very perfumey and floral. But instead its like a sweet candied violet. The violet actually really makes it smell pretty instead of sickening sweet the way lots of fruity glosses smell. I agree with the reviewers who say it has a bit of a blueberry or wildberry tone to it....I can smell a bit of that. Its definitely not grandma-ish or medicinal to my nose. And gorgeous soft non sticky texture...in a really cute tin. I think this is my favourite of the perfumeria glosses so far!

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Daydream
bubbleheart 3/7/2011 5:38:00 PM
I was given this product - which tells you that I would never have chosen it on my own. Dusty pink meets brown...yawn...boring. But when I tried it on I was really surprised. Its probably one of the most natural looking blushes I've ever worn, it matches my natural flush color perfectly so you really cant tell if its blush at all (well unless you really pile it on!) I still dont think its a very exciting color, and I probably wont wear it everyday but for times when you really want to look natural or do your makeup quickly this is the ticket.

Lip Gloss -Perfumeria Gal - Fragranced lip balm
bubbleheart 3/2/2011 4:05:00 PM
I really like these! I only have two right now, but I will definitely buy more. The texture is absolutely perfect for a lipbalm....medium smooth thickness - not too thin and watery but not gooey and tacky. The price is right....about $5-6 dollars, but OMG hard to find. I have peach and I think it smells a bit more like apricot meets fuzzy peaches candy...I wish it didnt have any of the candy scent - why cant lipgloss makers make authentic fruit scents instead of sugary sweet ones? I also have tropical which should be named coconut because thats all I smell, its nice, but tropical also has SPF and you can taste it which kinda ruins the whole gloss. I dont agree with the reviews that say its 'just vaseline' because if you have used vaseline on your lips you know how greasy, melty and goopy it is and this gloss is a lot different than that. Overall, really good lipbalm if you can get a flavour that you really like!

Fragrances -Fresh - Strawberry Flowers
bubbleheart 2/23/2011 10:10:00 PM
I dont usually go for a lot of Fresh's fragrances because Im not big into lemon or sweet sugary scents, but this one was so cute and summery sounding I was immediately attracted to it. However, if you're expecting strawberry fruit scent, you'll be disappointed - it is most definitely not a ripe berry scent, though I would still be impressed if ever there was a fragrance that could actually replicate the authentic strawberry. I do disagree with the other reviewers though that say it does not smell anything like its name. This does really smell like the strawberry plant, leaves and has the tartness (and slight citrusy scent) of unripe strawberries. If you have ever spent time around fields of strawberries you will recognize the similarities. Its a more mature strawberry scent, but at least its authentic! Its very summery and is a more sophisticated (but still fresh and youthful) option in my fragrance collection since I usually go for very young fruity scents.

Loose Powders -MAC - Magically Cool Liquid Powder - Cajun
bubbleheart 1/29/2011 7:53:00 PM
I like this, but I am not bowled over by it. Its a fun novelty type of makeup item but its sooo not worth the price. I wear it as a bronzer, and its a great color for that. I was so worried about how it would apply because when you swatch it, it goes on very streaky - but with the right fluffy brush it goes on your face a lot nicer. It does feel cool for about a second when you brush it on - probably a nice sensation in the summertime! Im not a huge fan of the container - its just sooo big and the product quickly settles and even seems to evaporate a bit (makes sense since its main ingredient is water - but it makes you wonder how much product you're really getting). Overall, a good bronzer and a good quality product but nothing that I'd rebuy over and over even if it was permanent - its just too expensive for what it is.

Lip Treatments -DuWop - IcedTeas Translucent Lip Treatment
bubbleheart 1/18/2011 3:44:00 PM
I really like these! What a fantastic product - just looking at it screams 'summer' with the solid translucent colored jelly lipstick. They also smell amazing - peach, passionfruit, strawberry kiwi or blackcurrent (I think). When you smell them in the tube they smell nice and fruity but when you wear them you get more of the 'iced tea' bit....on my lips they do smell like fruit flavoured tea. They are average in moisturizing - they could be better, but certainly arent the worst....they are very similar to those white colored lipsticks that some brands sell as 'conditioning lip treatments' - essentially lip gloss for those who prefer lipstick format. The only huge downside is the price....these are very expensive for what they are. I dont know if I'll buy this again at full price, but I just love the look and smell of these so much!
