Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
rated 1 of 5

I hate to be the first bad review, but I did not like this mascara at all. I purchased the Very Black Waterproof version. I'm a big fan of the Colossal Volume Waterproof mascara and was hoping this would lend even more volume to my lashes. However, no matter how many coats I apply, this mascara doesn't seem to show up. It looks super wimpy, for lack of a better word. The brush is thick and fluffy, which I like, but the formula just won't build. It is less than a natural look - it's nearly invisible. I wouldn't recommend at all or repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - 100% Natural Lip Gloss - 7-Layer Cake
rated 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this gloss. Yes, $15 is expensive, but this is worth it. It's the perfect milky-pink - not too glittery/shimmery, not too white, pink or nude. It's a gorgeous, Kim Kardashian pink on my pale lips and looks great on people with more pigmented lips as well. It's SO moisturizing that I can use it without a ChapStick base. Plus, it smells like vanilla cake and isn't sticky, gritty or gooey. I will definitely repurchase and plan to try other 100% Natural glosses.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch
rated 2 of 5

I am not a fan of MAC's eyeshadows. This has little color pay off, isn't quite matte or sheer, and doesn't work well as a base under my eyeshadows. For the price, I'd expect better quality, not sheer chalk. I love my Urban Decay Naked Palette and will stick with that from now on.

Shampoo -John Frieda - Sheer Blonde Color Renew Tone-Restoring Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

I have highlighted and lowlighted honey blonde hair and have hard water where I live, so I want to make sure my hair doesn't get brassy. I haven't been using it long enough to tell whether it keeps the brassiness away, but this is moisturizing, smells nice, makes my hair smooth and is affordable. I'll be able to tell better after I get my hair highlighted next, but I am so far impressed with this product.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - master drama eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
bstorm 8/9/2011 7:11:00 PM

When it comes to eyeliners, I must say that I really like Maybelline's. I own the Master Drama eyeliner in both Sapphire Strength and Vibrant Violet. Both apply easily, last all day and don't irritate my eyes (which has been an issue for me with purple eyeliners). However, the purple shade is much less intense and really requires several layers before the pigment shows up well. The blue on the other hand is a seriously gorgeous ocean blue that looks amazing on my dark brown eyes. It's quite dramatic, but I can pull off a thin line on my lower lashes for daytime. I'd like to try Coal Commander next. Very nice product!

Mascara -Maybelline - The Falsies Flared Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
bstorm 8/9/2011 7:07:00 PM

I'm a L'Oreal girl when it comes to mascara, but I was pleasantly surprised by this. I bought it on a whim because I liked the "flared" idea. To be honest, this lived up to its claims. It makes my lashes long, volumized, curled and is waterproof. It lasts all day and I really like that the brush has both long and short bristles. It's still not HG, but if I really take my time when applying this, I get a good result. I should note that I've tried the regular waterproof Falsies before (not Flared) and half the brush was missing bristles, so that must have been why I hated it. With Flared, I'm impressed!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes - waterproof
rated 2 of 5
bstorm 8/9/2011 7:03:00 PM

This isn't a bad mascara - but I would repurchase. Let me first say that I'm a huge fan of most L'Oreal mascara - they really produce excellent products. However, this was very dry and make my lashes look spidery and stubby. It applied well, but I don't think I'm a fan of plastic-y bristle mascara brushes. I want length more than volume, but even Voluminous (the regular waterproof version) does a better job than this. It was very hard to remove too, which is fine if you're swimming, but too tough on my eyes.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 4 of 5
bstorm 8/9/2011 7:01:00 PM

I really like this blush, but would give it a 4 instead of a 5 because I've fallen in love with Benefit's Coralista. I'm fair with blonde hair and this looks great on my skin, but Coralista is IT for me. This is pinkier than Coralista and more shimmery, but still pretty. It lasts most of the day and makes me look glowy. Not my HG, but I still plan to use it, especially since was so expensive.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Coralista
rated 5 of 5

This may be expensive, but it's for a reason. I have fallen in love with this blush. I have fair skin, blonde hair and dark brown eyes and this complements my complexion perfectly. It's a gorgeous coral-pink that goes on sheer and is very buildable. I'd rather have to build my blush than have it be too dark right away. It's a beautiful color that makes my skin glow and look so healthy. It doesn't have much shimmer, smells amazing, doesn't make me break out and comes in the cutest packaging. Ironically, I got this as a free sample from Sephora when I purchased NARS Orgasm. I do like the NARS blush, but this blows it out of the water in my opinion. When I use up the sample size, I will certainly repurchase. I imagine that this would look lovely on all skin tones.

Conditioner -Organix - Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
bstorm 8/9/2011 6:56:00 PM

I wanted so badly to like this product. The only thing I'm happy about is that I bought it in a sample size. It smells amazing and the scent does linger in my hair, but it makes my hair staticky, dry and dull. I do not recommend at all.

Eyeliner -NYX - Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in 917 Purple
rated 1 of 5
bstorm 5/21/2011 2:50:00 PM

I completely agree with the other reviewers. This was my first NYX eyeliner and it might be my last. It had the worst color payoff I've ever seen. It looked great in the stick, but after repeatedly applying, you STILL couldn't see it. So not worth the money. I don't recommend this.

Polishes -OPI - Sweet Heart
rated 4 of 5
bstorm 4/2/2011 11:19:00 AM

Okay, I love the color of this. And I normally love OPI formula, but do recognize that they tend to be thicker. This is a gorgeous opaque white-pink and looks fabulous with my fair skin. However, since the formula is thick and opaque, it's hard to work with and looks streaky. It took three coats to get it right, but even then, it was streaky. I love the color though, so I'm torn. If anyone has a shade dupe in a better formula, definitely let me know!

Shampoo -John Frieda - Anytime Volume Refresher
rated 1 of 5
bstorm 4/2/2011 11:17:00 AM

Update: SO disappointed in this product. Smells great, but does NOT improve my hair - makes it look greasier, actually. It doesn't remotely do what it promises - no volume, my hair looks dirtier, etc. I don't recommend at all and won't repurchase.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Sweet Dreams
rated 3 of 5
bstorm 4/2/2011 11:14:00 AM

I'm torn with this lip gloss. I swiped it on my hand at Sephora and it was a shimmery nude-pink. It was gorgeous and I always wanted to try a NARS product. However, when I tried it on, it is a glittery tan-nude color, with a little bit of gold to it. I get compliments on it, but I'm more used to wearing a mauvey-pink (Chanel Glossimer in Wild Rose is a HG shade for me). I think this might look amazing on someone with tan skin. I'm fair and blonde, so I feel like this looks too gold on me. I feel like it makes my teeth look yellow-ish, which they're not, so that's a big downside. I also don't like the scent (smells exactly like Clinique lip glosses) and it is VERY sticky and goopy. This means it stays on for awhile, which is a plus, but I don't like the formula. I don't plan to repurchase this or any other NARS lip gloss.
