Bronzers -Too Faced - Too Faced Leopard Love Complexion Perfection Kit
rated 3 of 5
bsampson09 6/13/2012 11:12:00 PM

I LOVE Too Faced products, but out of all of them that I have bought over the years, this is probably my least favorite. The packaging of this is super cute, has a mirror and is nice and sleek. But the tiny tins of product make it very difficult to work with and would be more practical as large eyeshadows- It's hard to get a face brush in their without mixing the colors. I love the peach leopard bronzer, as I have it in the full size as well, but I know that it is a very picky product when it comes to what skin tones it works well with. Definitely best on pale complexions. The blush is cute, a nice color, but doesn't have the best pigmentation. The brightener (or highligher) is darker than the bronzer which is really strange, and is also super glittery. It looks cute, but this only works on my skin when i'm more tanned. (Strange how this is a kit lol) In all, it's not terrible, but I think it is only aimed for a small amount of people shade wise and is definitely not worth the price-- Luckily I got it on sale. I still continue to use it so I don't waste it, but I would not recommend it or repurchase.

Primer/ Corrector -Almay - Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer
rated 2 of 5
bsampson09 6/13/2012 10:18:00 PM

The packaging and look of this product is great, nice and sleek and comes with a pump to disburse. However- I really don't understand how this product is a primer? It feels just like a moisturizer! I have to wait a bit for it to dry and the colors (green and purple) do absolutely nothing for my skin at all. Throughout the day my skin looks extra oily using this and my makeup doesn't really stay in place. The smell is pretty awful too. Ummm.. yeah, definitely won't be repurchasing.

Eye Makeup Remover -Make Up For Ever - Sens Eyes
rated 2 of 5
bsampson09 4/19/2012 2:44:00 AM

I bought a sample size of this make-up remover a few weeks ago at Sephora. I was really excited to try it because I figured id finally find a product that didn't burn my eyes- boy was I wrong! And not only did it burn extremely bad, but it's so thick in consistency that it takes forever just to get in onto a cotton round (good to see the full size comes with a pump!) When it came to removing my make-up it did an average job, but it seemed to smear it aaaalllll over my eye area instead of picking it up onto the cotton pad like other make-up removers I've tried. I love the idea of this product, but it really just didn't work out for me. If you're looking for a great eye make-up remover that doesn't sting your eyes, try the Body Shop's chamomille eye makeup remover- best I've ever tried!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
rated 5 of 5
bsampson09 4/17/2012 1:03:00 PM

This moisturizer is by-far the best i have ever used!! Ligjtweight and fragrance free, it feels amazing and works great on my oily skin. It never feels sticky and seems to just soak into my skin, leaving it smooth, moisturized and soft. The packaging is great so far with the convenient pump, 1 pump covers my whole face so i dont waste product. The pump may be an issue when i get to the bottom, but so far this has lasted me forever! I would recommend this to anyone to with oily skin!!

Moisturizers -Mary Kay - Velocity Lightweight Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5

I'm not sure why- but no matter what moisturizers I decide to try out- I ALWAYS end up back at this product! I love the subtle floral scent and the lightweight feel of this moisturizer. It works well with my oily skin and doesn't make me overly oily like other products have used. It's something I can use all year round and would definitely recommend!

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/20/2012 12:34:00 PM

I really like this scrub. The exfoliating beads are nice and gentle so you don't feel like you're tearing your face, and the smell is very light and refreshing. I use this scrub daily and I HAVE noticed a difference in my acne. I am pleased with this product and will be buying this again for sure! (I also use a more harsh scrub every few days to really clean deep down, but for daily use, this one is great!)

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/20/2012 12:24:00 PM

As of right now, this is my go-to mascara. It's nothing spectacular, but out of the dozens of mascaras I've tried, this is the one that works best for my lashes. It leaves them looking bold and defined, but nothing extraordinary when it comes to length or curl. I guess I like this one because I have super light lashes and I want the noticeable black color, but I don't want my lashes to look fake or clumpy- Never an issue with this product. The one thing I really don't like about this, and all L'Oreal mascaras is that it takes forever to dry- and the wand can carry a lot of extra product at once. But in all, this is my favorite mascara when I'm looking for that natural, bold, black lash look.

Toners -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner
rated 3 of 5
bsampson09 3/20/2012 12:16:00 PM

I don't know. There's really nothing special about this toner. It doesn't smell terrible, but it doesn't smell good either- It didn't do wonders for my moderate acne, but it didn't make it worse. I like that it didn't dry out my skin (which is oily) and it didn't burn like some toners have. Since everyone's skin is different, I can say I had a good experience overall. I will probably try something different next time, only because this wasn't amazing.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/20/2012 11:51:00 AM

I LOVE these lip butters! The perfect sheer lipstick / lip balm hybrid! The color selection is great and there's no doubt a color (or 6) for everyone. The pigmentation of these vary but for the most part are very good. They glide on my lips really well like a lip balm to keep my lips moisturized and the depending on the color, the pigmentation shows up really well with just a few layers. Sometimes they can feel a bit thick on my lips, but because of that they seem to last for hours before I need to reapply. The lighter shades can sometimes show imperfections of the lips, especially if you're lips are dry- I don't suggest using those shades to moisturize because they just wont look good in the meantime. I wish they were a bit cheaper, but I just wait until the Revlon cosmetics go on a BOGO sale and I try to scrape up any colors that might be left for the taking! I definitely recommend these, especially if you've been researching color swatches to pick your best matches. My favorite colors are creme brulee (a sheer nude color), strawberry shortcake (a bright baby pink) and the amazingly pigmented Lollipop! (A hot pink/fuschia color)

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #252 Large Shader Brush
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/19/2012 3:34:00 AM

I really like this brush. It is relatively large for a typical eyeshadow brush, but I love how quickly I can apply paint pots and all-over lid color eye shadows. I even use this brush to apply my studio sculpt concealer, which helps blend it into my skin nicely and keep it from being too cakey. I clean this brush often because it's so versatile and I have several uses for it and the quality of it is still just as good as the day i bought it! I'm a huge fan of MAC brushes and this one is definitely no exception!

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/19/2012 3:19:00 AM

I really like this face mask!! I got it for $3 at Walgreens and it is more than worth it! The minty smell is a bit intense, but I actually like it. It is very thick, almost clay like, but very cooling and smooth to spread. I can feel it working on my face and sometimes it can sting a bit on my acne (I have moderate acne) but the very next day my skin is so much smoother, less red and my acne is definitely reduced! I'm not sure if I would buy this again right away without trying other face masks first, but I'm sure I will get it again in the future because the price is almost impossible to beat!

Bronzers -Too Faced - Peach Leopard
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/19/2012 3:00:00 AM

I am a HUGE fan of this bronzer! Definitely one for lighter skin shades, this cute leopard bronzer adds just the right amount of color and shimmer to my face. I love the tiny bit of glitter it has that isn't too overpowering like some of the bronzers I've used, and it gives me a very natural, sun-kissed look. The price is a bit steep but it lasts so long and the compact it comes in is great! The sturdy compact lets you take it anywhere and the large mirror helps with various makeup touch-ups throughout the day.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 5 of 5
bsampson09 3/19/2012 2:51:00 AM

I LOVE this product! I use this every single day and it definitely helps keep my shadow on for hours and prevents intense creasing. I use this for both shadows and pigments alike and I am happy with how it works with both! The packaging is great, good size and the squeeze tube lets you get every drop of it out, so no wasting product! The consistency is light and creamy and is light tinted but doesn't leave any color or residue on the lid like I have found with Urban Decay's Primer Potion. The only thing I dislike about this product is that it does tend to separate, so you have to shake it a little before you use. Definitely a must-have product that I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #130 Short Duo Fibre Brush
rated 4 of 5
bsampson09 3/19/2012 2:40:00 AM

The biggest problem I have with this brush is pretty much what I have seen with almost everyone else- the fall out! I've been using this brush for over a month and I still get little bristles on my face. I have heard that washing your brushes with baby shampoo BEFORE you start using them can help with fall out. I'll try that next time. As for the actual brush itself, I LOVE how it works! It applies just the right amount of product so I'm not wasting any (I use this for applying my foundation) and it gives me a more natural, almost airbrushed look, compared to using sponges or other brushes. The size of this brush is perfect! It does take a little longer to apply foundation than with the larger 187, but it allows you to get closer application around your nose and under the eyes. In all, I think this is a great brush, but I would also like to try another stippling brush with a smaller price-tag, and hopefully get less bristle fall-out!

Crème -MAC - Studio Tech
rated 2 of 5
bsampson09 3/19/2012 2:19:00 AM

I used to use Covergirl Aquasmooth foundation, so I figured this would be a great cream-to-powder alternative to try a more high-end product. In all, I HATE this foundation. My color options were either too yellow or too pink based and it definitely felt cakey on my skin. I applied it with the MAC 130 brush which actually made it look nice and air brushed on my skin, but because I have oily skin it never seemed to feel "powdery" on my face but rather sticky most of the day and I had to constantly reapply setting powder throughout the day. The packaging is nice, I like the compact with mirror aspect, regardless of the unhiegenic sponge applicator it comes with. This would probably be a great foundation for someone with dry skin, but if you have very oily, acne prone skin like me, stay away.
