Conditioner -Frederic Fekkai - Technician Color Care Conditioner

Not a good value coditioner. Very expensive for not great results. Just very mediocre. Doesnt rinse all that clean. But even so, doesnt provide a ton of moisture. Because its not rinsing clean away one would figure its at least imparting moisture but any evidence of that doesnt show in my hair. I still need to use a leave-in conditioner. Its not the greatest smell. It doesnt smell terrible but not great either. Its all just mediocre but for the price it should be much more impressive. Just blah. Wouldnt repurchase.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - Technician® Color Care Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
brunella 11/20/2010 3:23:00 AM

I liked this at first. Went through a couple of small bottles then broke out and got the big huge one. Now I'm not impressed. My scalp itches and my hair feels dryish. I'm not crazy about the smell. My hair is color treated and quite long. I dont wash it everyday. Sometimes it only gets washed every three or four days. I can only imagine how dry my hair would be if I washed it more. My color still fades. Not sure if its the shampoo or not, but its certainly not making it last longer. Its not horrible. Its not wrecking my hair, I just dont feel its worth the money. For the price I should be loving it and I'm just not.

Crème -Maybelline - Dream Smooth Mousse
rated 5 of 5

This is definitely the best product of the year....probably the decade. I am not a drugstore cosmetic person. But I was intrigued by all the hype and I am kind of a foundation junkie so I had to try it. LOVE!!! I think this is the best foundation I have EVER used. I'm not kidding. This goes on like nothing I have ever used. So easy to blend. So natural looking. Feels like silk. Amazing. I have super dry skin and this feels wonderful on me and leaves a dewy finish which I set with loose powder. If you are oily and pefer a matte finish you may not like the amount of "moisture" you will get with this but its perfect if you are dryish and can handle some dew. It comes with a sponge but I dont bother with this. Instead I use a duo fiber stippling brush and I cannot believe how easy it goes on with this method of application. If I were pressed to say something bad I would say that the container it comes in is really small. I feel like I'm going to use it up pretty quickly but I also note that it doesnt take much product to cover your face so I'll have to wait and see. Also, the color i purchased, Classic Ivory, might be a tiny bit too dark for me, but it blends so easily and looks so natural, I'm not minding this color. I've tried many many high end foundations which I've ended up hating. I cannot believe how much I'm loving this amazing Maybelline product.

Lipstick -Lancome - Chris & Tell
rated 5 of 5
brunella 6/19/2010 4:28:00 AM

Love it! I went wild this spring for the big color of the moment, "coral". I am not a huge Lancome fan so when this first came out I didnt seek it out, but that was a mistake. Some companies came out with peach or melon colors and called it coral, but true corals have quite a bit of pink. I would call Chris & Tell a true coral. I dont mind the fragrance. I find the formula quite moisturizing. Its soft and blendable. And this color is amazing. If you are a fan of pale, nude or sheer lipsticks this will not be for you. Its bright and bold and the opposite of subtle. You're defeating the purpose if you try to sheer it out. The closest dupe I have is MAC Costa Chic but IMO its a bit more wearable and less garish than Costa Chic. From my collection, its in my top 3 of around 15 "coral" lipsticks.

Mascara -Rimmel - Sexy Curves
rated 2 of 5

Not the effect I was looking for. I like feathery, fluffy lashes and this made them super stiff and spikey. This stuff dried to a hard finish. No fluff or separation at all. Was just not what I was going for. Definitely would not repurchase.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 5 of 5
brunella 2/16/2010 12:39:00 AM

Why pay more for a mascara when this one does a great job. If you buy it on sale (or at Costco where it comes in a 4 pack) its really inexpensive. I didnt love it at first - it took a few applications to "break it in" but then once it hit the sweet spot its just been awesome ever since. It works as well or better than the more expensive mascaras. It doesnt burn my eyes and it doesnt smudge and it creates gorgeous long lashes - not like Drew Barrymore but gorgeous enough for me to put this above any other mascara. And its cheap enough that if it starts getting clumpy I can throw it away and get a new one.

Sorry, this one doesnt work for me. I love Original UDPP but this one doesnt prevent creasing at all. I actually quite like the color but I didnt buy this for the color. I bought it to prevent creasing so me no likee.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 4 of 5
brunella 2/8/2010 10:08:00 PM

Oh how I wish they would change the packaging. This is the greatest eye primer - and believe me, I've tried them all, but I had to dock 1 star simply because I hate the tube. Yeah I know, I can depot it - and I will - but I wish I didnt have to. The Original Primer Potion does the best job of preventing creasing which is my major requirement of any eye primer. I havent tried the new one Eden but I have tried Sin and it doesnt work nearly as well.

Masks -Kinerase - Pro + Therapy Ultra Hydrating Repair
rated 1 of 5
brunella 2/3/2010 12:11:00 AM

Oh how it pains me when I think how much I paid for this. This is the worst "hydrating" mask I've ever used. Like many Kinerase creams, its very thick, but just sits there, doesnt sink in, and not hydrating at all. Dior hydrating mask is much more emollient and hydrating and about 1/3 the cost.

Treatments (Eye) -Kinerase - Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream
rated 1 of 5
brunella 2/2/2010 11:53:00 PM

This is called "Intensive" so I was expecting some intense moisture and that is not what I got. This product is thick, but not very emollient. It doesnt sink in.....just kind of sits there. Didnt really provide any moisture at all and I saw no difference in some not very deep wrinkles I have around my eyes. I wasnt expecting miracles in the wrinkle department but I was expecting moisture and its just not there. This is the third kinerase product that I've tried promising hydration and its a big fat lie. Not moisturizing at all IMO. Totally overpriced for no results.

Tinted Moisturizer -Smashbox - Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
brunella 1/10/2010 11:40:00 PM

This is what Laura Mercier wishes it was, but isnt. I bought this a while ago and forgot about it. Pulled it out again and remembered how much I liked it. Its not a full coverage, but thats not the point with tinted moisturizer. Its so blendable when it goes on. My skin is so dry I almost always have problems with foundations going on easily but this goes right on quickly, blends well, and is not totally matte, (which I hate). I dont have to spend alot of time working with it to get it right. Great tinted moisturiizer. But if you are looking for something with more cover you might not like this.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Milk
rated 2 of 5
brunella 1/3/2010 1:45:00 AM

Searched high and low for the jumbo eye pencil in milk and wow what a disappointment when I finally got it. I really dont get the hype. These pencils crease like crazy and have no staying power. I find it curious that people say they use it as a base but admit that it creases. Why would you use a product as a base if you knew it creased? By the time I finally found this I had already had purchased a few other white pencils and the one I like best is Korres. I can get the same effect with more desired results. There is nothing special about the jumbo eye pencil. Yes they are inexpensive but you get what you pay for IMO.

Treatments (Eye) -Promaxyl - Eyelash Renewal serum Rapidlash
rated 3 of 5
brunella 1/3/2010 1:28:00 AM

I held off reviewing this product until I'd used it long enough to give it a fair chance. I've been using it for 2 1/2 months. After about 4-6 weeks I noticed that my lashes were definitely longer, but I didnt notice they were any thicker. Well that was then. Now they are thicker than they've ever been and they are very long - all the way up to my eyebrow. This product works. Its much cheaper than Latisse or Lilash so I will keep using it. This product (and all the lash enhance products) have some side effects. In my case my already dry eyes are considerably drier and I've noticed some reddening of my eye lid. This is not enough to cause me to discontinue use though. Ah vanity. UPDATE: I've been using this since October and now it is the end of March. I've stopped using the product. Although it does work, I've decided that I can no longer tolerate the red eyelids which have gotten worse over time. In addition to the redness, I've begun to notice my eyelids feel irritated - this may be because I rub them all the time -- or maybe I rub them all the time because they feel irritated. Whatever! They bother me and I hate the red. I've heard that even if you stop using it, your eyelids might stay red or take a very long time to go back to normal. I hope this is not the case. Its really too bad because it did work and I was very happy with the results for a time. Would I repurchase? That is a tough one. Perhaps if I had a very special event coming up and I had 2 month lead time to work on my lashes (temporarily) - maybe. But otherwise probably not.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Quadra Eye Shadow - 15 Bird of Paradise
rated 3 of 5
brunella 1/3/2010 1:18:00 AM

I bought several things from the holiday 2009 collection but this was a tad disappointing. I loved the Murano quad from the Fall 2009 collection but I thought this one paled. The colors were unusual for a holiday collection but I very much liked that--unique, not the same old thing. The shadows just didnt seem to be very pigmented and I found it hard to get any intensity of color (low payoff). For nightime looks, I wanted more intense color. I might pick this up again in the spring when lighter colors will be more appropriate.

Highlighters -Chanel - Empreinte de Chanel
rated 5 of 5
brunella 1/3/2010 12:57:00 AM

I raced to the department store as soon as they had it. I admit I'm kind of a Chanel junkie but this is amazing. So gorgeous. I guess you can use it as a blush but I put it on over the top of blush and it gives a nice shimmer but not too disco ball. The packaging is equally beautiful and comes in its own pouch, like all chanel compacts. This one comes with a nice little angle brush that appears to be natural fibre which I probably wont use but its cute anyway. The price is high but as all lovers of Chanel will tell you its totally worth it. This is part of their Spring 2010 collection but I cant wait until then. I'm sure it will look better then, but I'm wearing it now.
