Toners -DDF - Glycolic Toner 5%
bronco_frogs56 8/21/2005 5:36:00 PM
I bought this at a local spa that carries many products from the DDF line. Now, I had been getting a treatment, at this particular spa, for acne and the beautician who carrys out the facial recommended this product, saying "this is simply great for acne". So, I tried it. The smell is no problem for me, I've smelled worse, and I didn't notice any excessive stinging or drying (which is saying alot, I have very sensitive skin). A week passed by, and I noticed I was getting tons of very large "underground" pimples, not to mention many random breakouts. I went back to the spa and told the beautician that I had a suspicion that this was breaking me out. She said it was "simply my imagination" and that "glycolic acid doesn't have the capacity to break people out". So I kept using it, and my skin kept breaking out, and also the breakouts weren't healing. So I stopped using it, and my skin began clearing up again. I definitely won't be buying this again.

Liquid -Jane - Stay Calm Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
bronco_frogs56 8/15/2005 5:29:00 PM
I bought the lightest color, Fair Enough, and it is still too dark for my skin, atleast 3 shades darker. It's also too yellow. It doesn't blend well, even if I mix moisturizer with it. The only good thing I found about this was that it wasn't tested on animals.

Concealers -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Oil-Free Concealer
bronco_frogs56 8/15/2005 5:27:00 PM
This concealer did nothing for my acne, nor hide them. It simply balled up on my face, emphasizing the breakouts. Also, while Neutrogena doesn't test on animals (or as we are told), their parent company, Johnson & Johnson does, so I would prefer not to repurchase this product on the basis of that.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser Cream

Just didn't work for me, at all. Smells nice though, and makes my face feel clean, but simply did nothing for acne.

Mascara -Max Factor - Stretch & Separate Mascara
bronco_frogs56 8/15/2005 5:24:00 PM
This is a good lasting mascara for me, at the end of the day there are no flakes under my eyes, which is good. This color is nice, and really helps to define my lashes. I would repurchase this in the future. UPDATE: I recently began studying up on animal testing, and I found out that Max Factor tests on animals, so I will not be repurchasing ever again.

Powders -Jane - Loose powder in Colorless
bronco_frogs56 8/11/2005 11:53:00 AM
I bought this about a year ago, and kind of strayed away from it after awhile, and tried other powders. But I always found myself coming back to this stuff. It really helps to set concealer/foundation and makes skin look nearly flawless. Absorbs oil good too. I actually like the packaging, I don't find it hard to get the powder out or anything like that. No complaints here!

Cleansers -Aveeno - Clear Complexion Cleansing Bar
bronco_frogs56 8/10/2005 11:00:00 AM
I would rate this as Zero, but apparently thats not an option. I bought this based on all the good reviews I've read here. I have mild/moderate hereditary teenage acne. For the first few days of using this product, my skin definitely looked clearer, and more even-toned, but after a week, my skin got severly dry from using this, and extremely red. I tried putting on lots of moisturizer, but I've had this experience before, where I use something and it drys me out, then makes me sensitive to EVERYTHING. So, the moisturizer stung like fire on steroids- a moisturizer that is usually very gentle on my face. I also had these wrinkle-like things on my face, I looked like I was 30 instead of 14. Might I say, in the first few days my face was clearing up, but when this whole fiasco started, it broke out terribly again. My skin is completely ruined, and I'm still trying to put moisture back into it, but nothing seems to be working. I'll never use another Aveeno product again. Note: I already knew that Aveeno was owned my Johnson & Johnson, who kills animals in cruel lab tests, but after reading the reviews here, I felt I might compromise my morals for the chance of clear skin. Well, obviously, I won't be doing that anymore- I'm sticking to cruelty-free products.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
bronco_frogs56 8/7/2005 6:19:00 PM
All moisturizers sting my skin really bad. I had heard of Cetaphil as an execellent line for people with sensitive skin, so I tried this product. What do ya know- it stings me. I wasn't suprised, everything stings my face. Some pros though, it smells good, has Spf, and comes in a nice bottle. But I wouldn't repurchase.

Pressed Powders -Neutrogena - Healthy defense SPF 30 [DISCONTINUED]
bronco_frogs56 8/7/2005 6:10:00 PM
The color "fair" is a good match for my pink undertones, I find it's not too yellow. I can apply it with the puff without it getting cakey or masky looking. Provides sun protection, which is the most important thing. However, I have to make sure that I apply the powder evenly and all over my face, or else I end up with random sunburned spots. I really have no complaints with it. UPDATE: After using this for about a week, I find that this powder is too dark for my skin, and I look masky with it on (I'm a very fair redhead, and I usually can never find a light enough foundation). If they made a shade like "Super-fair" then I'd buy again lol. But I think i'll keep using it until I can find a sunscreen that's just as good as this.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shiny-licious- Melon-Ball
bronco_frogs56 8/7/2005 4:19:00 PM
I was hoping to get a peach color from this, but on me it's just a clear/pink shade. It's very shiny on lips, and it has a good smell to it, concidently like melons. Lasts alot longer than some other lip glosses, too. I guess I'm gonna have to look for something else, because this really didn't give a peachy color to my lips. I wouldn't repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Morbid Makeup - Bloody Mary Rebel- Red
bronco_frogs56 8/5/2005 11:12:00 AM
The color is cool- I agree with another viewer when they said it is like the color on a Geisha. I have such oily lids so this doesn't last as long on me as it could. Whenever I wear this color with black eyeshadow, people ask me if I got in a fistfight, which is cool i guess lol. I would repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Whipped Silk Body Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
bronco_frogs56 7/24/2005 4:13:00 PM
I bought this in the scented kind, the Soft Petal Breeze scent. It goes on extremely smooth, and I simply love the smell. However, after it sinks into my skin, the scent turns into a plastic-like smell, also my skin takes on a plasticky feel. If I apply it after a shower on wet skin, then it tends to not feel so much like plastic. I would repurchase just for the smell though........it's really cool.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Glued [water-resistant] Spiking Glue
bronco_frogs56 7/24/2005 4:05:00 PM
I used to have very short hair, like an inch long, that I always spiked up. This is the most heavy-duty styling product I have ever seen, it kept my hair spiked all day (by the way, I have very fine hair). I didn't really think it was hard to wash out, or that I needed a harsh shampoo, I just used a regular shampoo and it came right out. It smells great, also, kind of a grapefruit smell. It's also very thick, so you don't really need much, and it's very easy to get out of the tube. Now that my hair is grown out, I still use this, and it's simply perfect.

Other -Tom's of Maine - Spearmint toothpaste
bronco_frogs56 7/24/2005 3:44:00 PM
I used to live in Maine, and (no suprise here) in virtually every store there was Tom's of Maine products. I love spearmint, so I decided to try this flavor. I love it, it freshens breath, and had flouride. Also, it's not tested on animals, and appears to be vegan, but I'm not entirely sure. I would definitely repurchase.

Shampoo -Got 2 Be - Squeaky Clean Shampoo
bronco_frogs56 7/22/2005 7:56:00 PM
Wow, great shampoo. For my very oily hair, it's perfect. Not moisturizing, but who cares, my hair has enough natural oils. Smells very nice, comes in a cool container, and rinses clean. No complaints!
