Makeup Brushes -MAC - #228 Mini Shader Brush
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/11/2009 1:23:00 AM

I love this brush. I have small eyes, so this brush is PERFECT for defining my outer v. I also love it to smudge shadows along my bottom lash line, AND to hilight my inner corner. It's just an all around perfect brush for my small eyes, and definitely aids in my shadow application to make them bigger. I love it. Plus, I got it at my CCO for like $12. So, definitely nice and cheap if you can find it there- CCO is where I buy 97% of my MAC products!

Eye Shadow -MAC - pigment in Mauvement
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/7/2009 12:08:00 AM

I thought Milk was my favorite pigment, but after I tried Mauvement, forgetttt about it. Mauvement is the perfect color for anything- whether it's worn as a wash on the lid for an everyday look or smoked out for a night time sexy look. I haven't tried it foiled yet, but I am SURE it looks gorgeous. It compliments my pale skin and light brown eyes perfectly. This color is amazing. But, don't try to press it into a pan- disaster strikes :-/ I voted it a 2 for the price, because come on- it will last you a LIFETIME for only $20. Any MAC pigments are a good value for the price.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Naked Lunch
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 5:27:00 PM

This is my favorite MAC eyeshadow ever. And, I just hit pan. :-( It's a beautiful pinky/brown shimmery color, great for everyday wear, which is what I use it for. Especially since I'm so pale, I cannot use it as a highlighter like a lot of other girls do. I will definitely repurchase, I'm actually in the process of that right now. I wish my CCO carried it- it would be a little easier on my wallet, but that's ok, since it's such a beautiful color I don't mind spending the $14 for this one.

Eyeliner -MAC - Greenplay liquidlast liner
rated 4 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 5:23:00 PM

This was my first liquidlast liner, and won't be my last- I LOVE IT! My ONLY complaint about it is that it gets goopy and is hard to apply sometimes, especially if I am in a hurry. Other than that, this stuff REALLY lasts. I have SUCH oily eyelids and this stuff doesn't budge. It's a gorgeous golden green color and I love to wear it when I'm feeling "bold" I'm trying to make it last so I don't wear it too often, so I am concerned it will separate or turn even MORE goopy with age, but so far so good. :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Cult of Cherry Tempting Quad
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 5:16:00 PM

I. Love. This. Quad. SO MUCH! My best friend got this for me for my birthday this past year- and I adore it. Green is my favorite color, so of course I appreciate any green eye shadow/eye liner out there. I love that sharp is edgy and different, and the rest of the colors, especially the shimmery brown tempting, are so pretty as well. They compliment each other nicely and when I wear all of them at once, I get a different look that I love. Usually, I'll use sharp all over the lid, tempting in the crease, the darker brown on the outer v (i forget the name) and then the nearly naked (or something similar, I forget the name as well) as the highlight. Other days, I wear tempting all over the lid, and apply a white pearly shadow on the ball of my eye, and smoke it out on the outer V with the dark brown. It's just such a great palette I can't stop raving about it. My CCO still has it, and when I get my christmas money I'll probably buy a backup and the shadowy lady quad as well. I'm afraid to use this quad often because I am afraid to use it up! So, if I have a backup I won't be as worried. :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pink Freeze
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 5:12:00 PM

This was my first MAC eyeshadow. I got it YEARS ago as a christmas present from my aunt, who worked there at the time. I don't usually do pink eye shadows, which explains why I've had it for so long, but when I DO use it, I love it. I like it for spring and also for the winter, due to the frosty color of it. It's such a pretty pink- I wish that I wore pink/colors that matched pink more often so that I can wear this more often! And, I barely have to use any for it to show up on my lids, which is a definite plus.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Warm Chill
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 5:09:00 PM

Again, so sad that this is LE. I got it at my CCO (part of a haul that I did a few days ago) for $5! :) Doesn't get any better than that- $5 for a MAC shadow? yes please. It was the only one left, so I figured it was selling pretty well. I didn't read reviews before I purchased. I guess I'm glad I didn't because so many people dislike this product! I am surprised! The color wasn't too sheer for me at ALL! I have very pale skin, so maybe that's why- but I applied it over Bobbi Brown's shimmer stick in a pearly white color (I forget the name and am too lazy to dig it out haha) and it went on very pigmented. It's a beautiful minty green shimmer. The only reason I had to apply so much is because when I apply anything that isn't a pigment over the bobbi brown, it doesn't blend very well so I have to pack it on instead of smudging it out (it clumps if I do that) I like to wear it by itself, but I also sometimes pat a pearly white shadow on the inner corners of my eyes near the tear duct, and blend it 1/3 of the way out into the warm chill and it's a perfect everyday look for the winter. I hope they get more of these in so that I can re-purchase, I'd like a backup.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 4:52:00 PM

I'm very sad this is LE. By a stroke of luck, I got this at my CCO. It was the ONLY one they got in. I got it for $10 -not telling how ;-) - Mine has a LOT of rasp. veining. And I mean like 80% of the surface is raspberry shimmer LOL. When I first applied it today, I used a blush brush (probably a bad idea, picks up too much product) and it was VERY scary on my pale skin. I'll probably use a skunk brush next time. But I buffed it out with my kabuki (which I need a new one of, because this thing HURTS my face) and it softened up and looked amazing. I'm wearing it as a blush, currently, although I think since it has so much raspberry color it would look nice as an eyeshadow. So we shall see. I wish they got more in, I'd buy 3 more so I never run out. I guess once I do, I'll have to resort to ebay's $40-60 ones. I'd definitely pay that price for an authentic one, though, again. It's amazing. My first MSF and I'm not disappointed.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Pink Fish Tinted Lip Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
broadwaybaby897 12/3/2009 1:47:00 PM

I got this from my CCO yesterday. Maybe it isn't sufficient enough time to write a review yet on this product, but I have been WAITING for this for so long. I thought all hope was lost after the stores ran out and only Ebay was selling them at ridiculous prices. But then, CCO got ONE in for $10.25- so of course I got it. I don't like pot lip glosses/balms/products, I think they are unsanitary to use if you are bringing it with you in your makeup bag and the only option you have is your finger- so I gave it a 3 for the packaging quality. The packaging is BEYOND adorable, though. I now have a makeshift covered lip brush I carry with me (my mac 316 with tinfoil wrapped around the tip LOL) but have one coming in a swap from Sephora, so that's not too big of an issue anymore- but for others who don't have lip brushes at all, I can see how the lip conditioner could easily get contaminated by dirty fingers. I also kind of expected the formula to be thicker. It's a nice surprise because all of macs lip glosses and things are pretty thick. Even the tendertones are.. And I don't necessarily like that all the time, but I thought in this case since it's a balm and it's meant to protect and moisturize, it should be a little thicker. Pigmentation isn't very bold but I like that because given the color I don't know if at 20 years old I want to have a thick, opaque barbie pink all over the lips. I would repurchase this again if I ever find one again!! I do really like it so far- maybe I'll edit after a few weeks of use.

Skincare - Body -Burt's Bees - Burt's Bees Hand Salve
rated 4 of 5
broadwaybaby897 11/12/2009 12:12:00 PM

The positives of this product DEFINITELY outweigh the negatives. The only things that I find wrong are the packaging (I have a lip balm in the same type of tin, and I can't get it open anymore. My boyfriend had to bang at it with a small hammer to get the lid off). I fear that the same situation will end up happening to this one. Also, if you get the full sized tin for $9 it's a bit pricey for what you are getting, although I have the 3oz (or .3oz?) mini size, and I can tell it's going to last me through the winter. Anyway, I work in a coffee shop so I am constantly washing my hands, not to mention BURNING them on hot water and coffee (at least 3 times a week). They get dried out and hurt SO bad. But every night I rub this into my knuckles, around my nail beds, and in the "L" shape in between my thumb and index finger (for some reason, that spot gets SO dry) and then rub my hands together and cover with socks before bed. When I wake up, my hands are SO soft. They stay that way throughout the day until I can come home and repeat treatment. I love this stuff, and I'll definitely get it again!

Bronzers -Jane - Shimmering Bronzer - Tahiti
rated 2 of 5
broadwaybaby897 11/9/2009 11:53:00 AM

First of all, has anyone else ever noticed the weird SMELL that this product has? It smells like chemicals... I don't know if it's just mine since it's a couple years old or WHAT, but that bothers me enough. Also, I kind of think that bronzers should be on the MILDLY shimmery side, if at all. I prefer matte ones, I feel they give a more natural look for what you are going for. I wouldn't mind a bit of shimmer, but this thing is PACKED. It makes me look EXTRA shiny when I swipe it on. The color part, though, aside from the shimmer, is perfect for my skin tone. Just wish they didn't put so much mica or whatever in it.

Primer/ Corrector -Boots - Mattifying Make-up Base
rated 4 of 5
broadwaybaby897 11/2/2009 11:30:00 PM

I don't use this much for my face... Though this is why I originally bought it, because my skin is TERRIBLY oily, and my makeup by the end of the day seems to be floating on top of a layer of oil. If I were to rate this product overall as what it is intended for, I'd give it a 2 or a 3, probably, because it's very sticky/chalky, and actually hurts, like scratchy feeling when I pull it across my face with my fingers. HOWEVER I needed an eyeshadow primer desperately and had no funds to get a good one like UDPP or shadow insurance. SO, since I had this laying around and it was a primer after all, I patted a thin layer over each eyelid (not swiping or rubbing in, because this gives the scratchy feel again and also balls up and streaks into a chalky mess) and it worked great! Shadow glides easily over it and blends well. I use it every day and creasing is not a problem... fading is not a problem.. it's wonderful! The key is just to use your ring finger with a tiny bit of product, and pat a thin layer all over the lid. I'll be purchasing again, just because it's still cheaper than everything else, I work at a Target (where I bought it) so it's easily accessible for me, and it always worked.
