Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Shick Hydro-Silk
brittbrat118820 2/20/2013 9:22:00 AM
I received this product as part of a bzz agent campaign. I was previously using the shick quatro trim style. I have tried other brands (venus, bic, men's razors) and I have to say shick is by far my favorite. It provides the closest shave and makes my skin silky smooth. What I liked about the hydro silk razor was the size and the fact that it has 4 blades. It made shaving very easy and quick since it is a pretty big razor. I also liked the serum in the razor because it made my skin softer and reduced razor bumps around my bikini area. I still have to shave every day or every other day as with other razors but that's to be expected. I've been using it a couple weeks now and I really like it. I would definitely repurchase and recommend to anyone to try it out. I should note too that I shave with baby oil, not shaving cream, and I feel like the baby oil along with this razor makes my legs silky soft and smooth!

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Luster Premium White 1 Hour White
brittbrat118820 9/17/2012 11:01:00 AM
I received this kit as part of a buzzagent campaign. As a coffee drinker I'm always on the lookout for great teeth whitening products. I had tried whitestrips and whitening toothpaste before but never anything like this. It is more work than the whitestrips but it is definitely worth it. This is a 3 step product. First you rinse your mouth out, then you put the whitening gel on your teeth, then you put the blue light about an inch away from your face for 2 minutes. It recommends repeating this step 20 times for best results. I did a weekend treatment which was doing the 3 steps 5 times morning and night for 2 days. I have to say I am very impressed with the results. A teeth shade kit comes in the package and I went from about a shade 17 (eeekk) to about a shade 5. What I also liked about this product was I had zero tooth or gum irritation, which I experienced with other teeth whitening products. Overall this is a great professional quality teeth whitening system that I would highly recommend. It retails for about $32, which is a little more expensive than the whitestrips but you really get what you pay for.

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
brittbrat118820 8/13/2012 11:29:00 AM
I was really dissapointed with this. After seeing stellar reviews for it here and a 2.99 pricetag I had to try it. This does nothing for length and turned my lashes into a clumpy mess. I have naturally long lashes which tend to clump with most volumizing mascaras so maybe that's why this didn't work for me. Another con to this is my lashes feel so stiff and heavy. I prefer a more defined look without being spidery looking. Only pro to this is it is cheap so it might be worth a try but for me personally this was one of the worst I've ever used.

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Geller - Spackle primer/corrector in Bronze
brittbrat118820 12/1/2011 12:46:00 PM
I received a sample size of this in a birchbox and I've been using it for about a month now. I was afraid it would make me look orange becasue I'm very fair (nc20) but it doesn't at all. It adds a warmth to my complexion without being too bronzy or orange or changing the color of my foundation. This primer is very lightweight and doesn't feel sticky or heavy at all. I've experienced no breakouts from this either and I'm acne prone. It doesn't make my foundation last any longer than other primers I've tried though. Overall I really like the warmth it adds, especially when my skin is sallow in the winter from not being out in the sun. I would most likely repurchase this if I can find it in stores. It's a tad pricey but I don't mind investing in my face products if they work well.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
brittbrat118820 11/15/2011 1:44:00 PM
I received some of these as a bzz agent. I have cherry, peach, and pink punch. I couldn't be more pleasently suprised with these! I probably wouldn't have given these a chance had I not got them through bzz agent because of the ugly packaging and silly name. To me it seemed just like any regular tinted chapstick but I was wrong. It provides moisturization for my lips, which I so desperately need in winter, and also flattering colors. I am really not a fan of lipstick because I can never find colors that look good on me and they usually make my lips dry out but with these that problem is solved! I apply them every 2-3 hours just like with regular chapstick. I like them because they aren't too soft where the color slides off in a few minutes and they really do soften my lips. These also all smell great and you dont get an awful taste from them like with lipstick, just kind of waxy. My favorite of all ischerry. It looks like a bright red in the tube but on its a subtle natural pinkish red. I like the smell of it too, reminds me of cherry candy. Peach is a really nice nudish peach color. It smells really great too. I found this to be the most drying of all but I just remember to exfoliate before. Pink punch looks like a bright barbie pink color in the tube but on its just a nice cool pink color. This one sticks to any dryness on your lips but if you exfoliate before like with the peach one it works great. Overall I highly recommend these to anyone who hates lipstick but still wants some moisturization and color on their lips. I will repurchase again and again and can't wait to try the other colors/flavors.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Lots of Lashes
brittbrat118820 11/15/2011 1:32:00 PM
I am not a fan of the original great lash mascara. It smudged horribly on me. With that being said this is a great improvement to the original formula. I received this as a bzzz agent and was curious to try it after seeing the oddly shaped brush. I have this in the original formula in very black and it doesn't smudge at all. I really like the brush too, it has a full triangular shape that's perfect for getting all the little lashes in your inner and outer corners. It also provides good separation with no clumps, which is a huge must for me. I also liked that it doesn't have an odd smell like some maybelline mascaras do. This mascara does have a few downfalls. It didn't volumize or lengthen enough for my preference. I prefer a full false eyelash look even for every day. I also had to apply 2 coats to fully coat my light blonde lashes, which is too time consuming for me when I'm in a rush in the morning. I probably wouldn't repurchase for myself but I would definetly recommend this if you need a lot of separation and like a natural look.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
brittbrat118820 7/28/2011 12:31:00 PM
I have mixed feelings about this foundation so I'll just make a list of pros and cons. Pros: *Lightweight but buildable coverage * Doesn't feel heavy *Doesn't sink into pores/scars *Gives my skin a healthy, natural look *Great color selection (120 is about a perfect match for my NC20 skin) *Photographs very well Cons: *Very expensive *Lasting power isn't very good *Causes breakouts if I wear it daily Overall I do like it for when I know I'll be photographed or I want my skin to look natural, but its definetly not an everyday foundation for me. It does cover my redness and acne scars well without being too heavy. I will use what I have but I don't think I would repurchase. I need a more longwearing foundation and something that isn't so pricey.

Blush -Stila - Convertible Color Lillium
brittbrat118820 5/20/2011 5:50:00 PM
I really like the convertable cheeck colors. I have this one and peony but I prefer this one. It looks odd mauve color in the pan but It gives a nice pink flush of color to my cheeks. I just need a tiny bit amount on a flat top brush and it blends very easily. On my lips its a nudey/pink, which I love. I don't find it greasy at all for my cheeks but it is a tad drying for my lips so I usually wear gloss over it. I took one lippie off for lasting power. Even when I set it with powder it only lasts a few hours, but to be honest I have never found a long lasting blush for my skin. I think the packaging is really cute too and its slim so it fits easily in your purse and it even has a mirror. I got this in a set at costco for $10 with 2 eyeshadows and 2 lipliners so it was a steal. I know they usually retail for about $24 and honestly I would not pay that much for this. If you can get it on sale definetly check it out. It takes the guess work out of wondering if your lipstick and blush go well together.

Hair Removal -Nair - 15-Second Microwave Wax
brittbrat118820 5/5/2011 11:48:00 PM
Total waste of money. The wax took about a minute to heat up (not 15 seconds like it claims) and didn't grip my hair well enough to remove it from my legs. The wax smells good but it is messy! Also I went over the same area a few times to see if that would get out all of the hair so I ran out of strips before I even finished one leg. To be honest I'm pretty new to waxing but if this is the genral experience of it I'll just stick to shaving.

Self Tanners -Unlisted Brand - mystic tan
brittbrat118820 4/27/2011 5:26:00 PM
I got a mystic HD tan about a week ago for a vacation. The whole experience was very plesant. You must shower and exfoliate before your mystic for an even color. Then you can pick your level of color ( 4 choices) from glow to dark depending on how much color you want. I chose light becuase I am fair and I didn't want to look orange. You also pick which scent you would like and you can get a tan extender or an bronzing instant color for an extra charge. When you get the mystic you first you apply a barrier cream to your hands and feet so they don't get too dark. Then when you step into the booth it has feet plates with numbers on them so it tells you where to put your feet and how to turn for a total of 4 full body sprays. In between sprays it has a warming/drying feature. I didnt wear a nose plug and I was able to breathe just fine and it wasn't too noisy either. Afterwards they tell you not to shower for at least 4 hours so the tan can develop. It has a fake tanner smell to it but honestly it wasn't that bad. The color was perfect: not orange or streaky but gave me a nice sun kissed look. It lasted about a week with normal showering and shaving. It lasts less time if you go swimming so beware. It was very expensive too, $35 for one session and an extra $5 for the tan extender. Overall the color was great but it is pricey so I only see myself getting one for special occasions. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good sunless tan. If you can get the unlimited monthly package in your area it would definetly be worth it.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin
brittbrat118820 4/4/2011 5:21:00 PM
I've had very mixed feelings about this foundation. However I've used it a lot and experimented with different ways to make it work so I feel I can finally give my honest opinion about it. First of all the color selection isn't very good if you have yellow or neutral undertones. Most of the foundations tend to run a bit too pink or orange for my skin, but as long as I make sure to blend down my neck it doesn't look noticable. The packaging is also terrible, I have no idea why they haven't made a pump for this yet. This foundation can oxidize without a primer, but I use one with all of my foundations to help with this. I find the best method for applying this is using a damp sponge and patting it onto your skin. I start with a light layer then go over any areas that need extra coverage. The coverage is unbeatable for a drugstore foundtion. Its medium to full depending on how much you use and how much you layer it. The finish is pretty matte, which I like becuase I have large pores and acne scars so dewy foundations tend to emphasize my bad skin. This is also the only foundation I've tried that lasts on me pretty much all day. Just make sure you throughly remove it at night. It can give off a whitish cast in photos so I usually set with a darker powder if I know I'm going to have my pictures taken with flash photography and I skip a moisturizer with spf if I'm going out at night and there will be pics taken. Overall I think this is truly one of the best drugstore finds if you need a full coverage long lasting foundation. I would probably repurchase this but I'm interested in trying more high end brands of foundation becuase I don't think this is my HG and I've tried dozens of drugstore ones.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Biotin (All brands)
brittbrat118820 3/21/2011 2:22:00 PM
So I have been taking biotin for about 4 months now and I've seen some great improvements in my hair and my nails. My hair has grown about 3-4 inches in 3 months, which is a lot for me. Usually it maybe grows 1/2 inch a month. It's not thicker or anything it just grows faster. The downside to this is hair everywhere grows quicker so I have to shave more often. My nails are also very brittle and they have gotten a lot stronger. They break a lot less and don't have as many ridges in them. I've been taking the 1000mcg about 2-3 times a day after a meal. I also have acne prone skin and have never had a problem. I don't think you need high doses of this stuff to see results. I think most of the people who get acne from this are probably taking too much. Your body only absorbs so much of it at a time anyways and the rest is released through your urine. I recommend trying this out for anyone looking to grow their hair faster and make their nails stronger.

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray
brittbrat118820 3/21/2011 1:19:00 PM
This is just ok. It does an alright job of soaking up oil and refreshing my hair. I hate the smell because to me it smells like furniture polish. It doesn't linger in your hair for long however. After my local sallys was out of batisse I thought I'd give this a shot. It is cheap but I have to use twice as much of this as i do with batisse to get the full benefit of soaking up oil on days I don't wash my hair. Not worth it to me. I'll stick with batisse.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
brittbrat118820 3/4/2011 4:06:00 PM
Edit- I'm so bummed that this ended up causing breakouts for me. I switched back to my old faithful drugstore foundation, colorstay, and my skin cleared up. I am sensitive to 'cones and jojoba oil so that's probably why. I only took one lippie off though because its still a great foudation. Just beware if you have acne prone skin like I do. I'm very suprised at how much I love this foundation because I usually hate covergirl makeup. I received this as a free sample in the shades 320 and 340. I thought 320 would be too dark for my NC 15/20 skin but to my delight its an excellent match! Again I was suprised because covergirl foundations tend to be too pink or orange for my skintone. I've been using it for a few weeks now so though I would give a very detailed review. The coverage of this is medium. I definetly wouldn't recommend this if you like a lot of coverage but for me this is perfect. It covers up slight redness and acne scars that I have and it literally lasts all day on me. It doesn't control oil though so I do have to blot during the day and I set with a mattifying powder. It has a very pleasant scent to it, but nothing offensive like the noxema smell their other products have. I found the best way to apply this is with my fingers. The finish of this is definetly what sold me on this. Its very natual looking without being too dewy. Its somewhat thick but it feels very lightweight and you only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face. I love the sqeeze tube packaging of this too, I can't stand pour bottle type foundations. I'm slightly oily and acne prone and this foundation hasn't broken me out at all and I find myself wearing it daily now. I can't say enough good things about this and I highly recommend it. After trying so many drug store foundations and not being happy I think I've finally found one that works for me!

Powder -Palladio - Wet/Dry foundation
brittbrat118820 2/16/2011 4:40:00 PM
The coverage from this is amazing without being cakey. Its probably medium coverage applied dry and applied wet its medium/full. I've pretty much given up on liquid foundations and this is by far the best powder one I've tried. I apply it with my SK flat top brush and it blends beautifully and provides good coverage. If I want a bit more coverage I spray the brush with fix+ and apply it that way. No breakouts or irritation either. However this does have a few cons. First the color selection sucks. All of the shades seem to be very pink or beige. I bought 401 laurel nude and its a bit too pink for my NC15 skin, but it looks ok as long as I blend it really well down my neck. Second it doesn't last all day on me, but then again nothing really does. It is convienent to carry around for touch ups though. Third there isn't a lot of product. I've been using it about 3 weeks and I've already hit pan on it. Overall I do like it and will repurchase. You can find it at Sallys or Ulta for around $9.
