Liquid -NYX - The Make-Up

I had high hopes for this product, but it was horrible. Thick, cakey and chalky, with a horrible orange sugar stench. The colour and packaging are great but the formula is such a let down. Back into the drawer it goes!

Foundations -Almay - TLC Truly Lasting Color
breaseygirl 5/28/2009 11:48:00 AM
I honestly do not see how this product could work for girls with dry skin. My skin is normal - dry, and this looked terrible. It just 'sat' on top of my skin and was horrible to blend. The texture is stange too.. def one of the weirdest I've ever come across. Its a gluey-ish paste. The coverage was good and I could tell this would be a long lasting foundation, just not for my skin type. The colour and packaging were good too. It's hard to find a match for my super pale skin but Ivory 120 was fairly close. I can see this working for girls with oily skin, but if you have even remotely dry skin I would avoid this one.

Tinted Moisturizer -DuWop - Revolotion Face
breaseygirl 5/28/2009 6:05:00 AM
This was one of my first tinted moisturisers. I have it in Nanci which is a pretty good match for my very pale skin. It is a touch yellow but loose powder fixes this. The coverage is sheer, but just enough to even the skintone slighty and provide a little glow. I prefer more coverage however. It didn't accentuate flakies and has fairly good staying power. Overall this is a fairly standard TM. You HAVE to shake it though as the oil does seperate, which is pretty annoying! Swatch has been uploaded (:

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
breaseygirl 3/17/2009 12:36:00 PM
Gorgeous colour, perfect for my very fair skin. Much nicer than benetint. It lasts all day and looks very natural IF APPLIED PROPERLY. It took a while to get use to applying this and a lotttt of bad applications. I reccommend using a foundation brush to apply this otherwise I find it looks splotchy and very fake. I selected 'No' to buying again because this cost AU$58 and I prefer more effortless blushes. Overall, a great product though.

Liquid -Bourjois - Repulpant Reboosting Collagen Foundation
breaseygirl 3/17/2009 12:28:00 PM
I first bought this foundation a few months ago, tried it once and the colour match wasn't right. I did love the texture/finish/coverage but it just wasn't pale enough and I had already purchased the lightest shade, #61 Abricote Clair. I thought to myself, great more $$ wasted on a product that isn't even my shade! The coverage is light/medium, leaning mostly towards light. This did not accentuate any flakies or sink into lines. Also no caking and lasted a good 5 hours (: However I recently started running out of Chanel Vitalumiere (which also isn't pale enough for me, but I mix it with Laura Mercier Porcelian Ivory Moisturising and get a perfect colour) and didn't really want to fork out the AU$100+ for it. That's where this one comes in - mixed with my regular Laura Mercier foundation I get the exact same finish, colour, coverage etc that I get when I mix it with Vitalumiere! Whilst this is a little thicker than Vitalumiere it also feels more moisturising. So girls, if you're looking to try vitalumiere give this one a try first for a fraction of the price. I bought mine for AU$31.95 at Target. Not HG, but I will repurchase. Swatch picture uploaded.

Really disapointed with this product. I don't find this to be at all moisturzing and the colour pay off is pathetic. Much prefer Keihls #1.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
breaseygirl 1/26/2008 12:25:00 AM
After trying a multitude of low and high end foundations, I decided to try this baby. I was super suprised with this one! It doesn't highlight my dry, flaky spots around my nose (which EVERY foundation does!), is ultra buildable, and has a light - medium amount of coverage. I have the lightest colour but it is slightly too dark for me in winter, so I mix it with a little Laura Mercier Moisturizng foundation. I set this with Nars Loose Powder in Snow as sometimes I find it looks a little too dewy, and it lasts all day. This doesn't make my combo skin look greasy and suprisingly doesn't break me out either. I live in a extremely hot and humid city and Vitalumiere manages to withstand the conditions! An all around winner, well worth the price. Swatch picture uploaded. ETA: I've noticed this really just slips off. Since I have to mix this foundation with another to get my colour it really isn't worth the AU$100+ pricetag. I've found Bourjois Repulpant to be just as good! Taken off a lippy.

Highlighters -Chanel - Joes Contraste Powder blush 49 Luna
breaseygirl 1/26/2008 12:19:00 AM
This product is an amazing highlighter. I had trouble finding a highlighter for my PPP skin that didn't leave me looking like a disco ball. This one is perfect! The brush that comes with it is rather useless, but that was expected. The light rose scent is divine - I feel so girly whenever I use it. I actually hate the smell of rose too! Great for contouring, cheekbones, brow bones - anywhere really. I would not recomend this if you already have a highlighter you like, as it isn't anything amazing. I said no to purchasing again, because I can imagine this product lasting a long time - even though I've actually bought a backup haha.

Loose Powders -NARS - Loose Powder
breaseygirl 11/22/2007 3:38:00 AM
Um, wow. This product is a miracle. Firstly, I was so suprised that 'Snow' matched my fair skin. Secondly, the quality of this product is AMAZING. The coverage is so adjustable. Blurs my imperfections, without ever being cakey (unlike every other loose powder I've ever used!). Perfect for night time when I need something light to set my foundation, or for day time AS my foundation. That's right, I don't even need foundation anymore and this is coming from someone who likes full coverage! Feels so light on my skin, and yet looks flawless. I will repurchase again and again. Well worth the price, it has eliminated a whole step in my makeup routine and the container is huge. Thanks MUA, I wouldn't have tried this product if it hadn't of been for the reviews!

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Sheer Moisturizing Makeup [DISCONTINUED]
breaseygirl 11/3/2007 10:01:00 AM
Every foundation I had in the cupboard was starting to look cakey on my combo/dry skin. And so, the search began for a tinted moisturiser with sheer - light coverage. I bought this on a whim when target had buy one, get one for one cent. I have this in fair - light, which is suprisingly a good match for my very fair, cool skin (although it would suit warm aswell). The moment I put it on, I was in love. All I needed was this and a bit of concealer and voila! All for just $15, too! My face looked flawless and dewy. So, why the poor rating? This stuff has next to no staying power. Lasted about an hour or two on my skin before looking like i had virtually nothing on. I will try it with nars loose powder, when i get it in the mail, and hopefully that shall help. I will update then too. I would not purchase again, for that reason.

Polishes -Rimmel - 60 seconds vinyl shine - Sunny side
breaseygirl 11/3/2007 9:53:00 AM
Wow, I'm so surprised this has such good reviews! Sunnyside is bright apricot coral, perfect for summer. Looks fantastic on the my very fair, cool skin. I love the colour, but the consistency of this nailpolish is disgusting. Clumpy, chunky goo. Will never buy again.

I bought these because of the reviews and because I lost my tweezermans on holiday. Well, I won't be repurchasing the ones I lost! These are fantastic. So precise and I love how they look. The price? $2.95AUD. Why wouldn't you try it for that little!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Blush Brush
breaseygirl 1/31/2007 3:06:00 AM
This review is actually for the Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush. This is a fantastic brush, and for a $1 why not try it? You never know, this could just be hg ;] Mine has started to feel a little itchy though, after about.. 3-4 months so maybe it is time for another. Must have, even if you just use it for emergencies!. UPDATE: Since trying MAC and The Body Shop brushes, there really is no comparison. This would be as a starter brush and for someone just looking to test out brushes for the first time, but not something I would keep in my kit. Taken off two lippies.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Essential Eye Widener
breaseygirl 1/31/2007 3:01:00 AM
Elf's professional eye widener is hard to apply. It didn't go on as smoothly as I hoped. Black eyeliner is too much of a clash for my pale skin and I was hoping this would be a little better, but no cookie.
