Nails -Zoya - Remove +
rated 5 of 5

Great polish remover! Thorough and efficient are words I'd use to describe this product. The packaging is brilliant, it's almost impossible to spill, dispenses the perfect amount of product, and keeps acetone fumes from leaking out and giving me a headache while I'm taking off my polish. The smell is even vaguely pleasant as far as nail polish removers go. One word of advice: remember to lock the dispenser closed before snapping the lid shut or you'll squirt it all over your hand. I did say it was ALMOST impossible to spill.

Polishes -Zoya - Julieanne
rated 5 of 5

I love the way Zoya polishes go on, really smooth. Two coats of this are necessary and the result is a great intense cool purple that flashes gold at certain angles. Indoors it's really dark except where it sparkles purple and gold in the light. Some colors that are this deep can be mistaken for black in poor lighting, but not this one. I think it maintains its purple-osity well even indoors. It might not dry super fast, but the color and staying power is worth it.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
rated 3 of 5

I've used this for a month and the outlook is bleak. It actually seems to give me more breakouts than just plain old soap and water would, so that sucks. It does feel really nice to use though, and doesn't leave me dry or irritated. Just doesn't help in the blemish control department as well as it should.

Conditioner -Suave - Professionals Humectant Conditioner

This made my hair feel gross. My hair is pretty dry and this conditioner/shampoo combo just made it more prone to tangling and breakage. At least it was cheap.

Conditioner -Giovanni - Smooth As Silk Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
breakfasting 7/21/2010 4:22:00 PM

It didn't make my hair itself worse, but didn't do anything special for it either. The real problem was that about midway through the bottle I started to develop some wicked dandruff. I can't say what exactly in the ingredients caused it, but better steer clear if you have a sensitive scalp.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Bag Balm
rated 5 of 5

Best lip balm I've ever used. I love to try different lip balms but to be honest they mostly tend to make my lips more chapped. This is one of the only balms I've ever used that doesn't end up making my lips feel worse in the long run. I apply this stuff once a day and I'm good even after it soaks in and rubs off. As far as texture goes it's really comfy, not too sticky and not too greasy. On top of that, one of the mini tubs lasts me at least a year so there's really no down side.

Skincare - Face -Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads
rated 4 of 5
breakfasting 12/30/2008 5:38:00 PM

My skin tends naturally toward the dry side, so it was no surprise when this product with tea tree oil and alcohol dried my skin slightly. The upside it that it seems to be working so well in clearing and toning my skin that I only need to use it every other day, also, since I moisturize regularly it hasn't been a problem. Other reasons I like these are: They come in pad form so they're really easy to use, the package contains 50 pads so I feel like I'm never going to run out, and I prefer the tub-o-pads to the individually sealed pads al-a "Stridex Power Pads". So what if they smell bad, suck it up and hold your breath.

Cleansers -Desert Essence - Thoroughly Clean Face Wash with Organic Tea Tree Oil and Awapuhi
rated 3 of 5
breakfasting 12/30/2008 5:20:00 PM

I love this product so much more than I expected to. I had never tried anything with tea tree oil before, but it seems to be a miracle ingredient for my skin. I bought this a month ago and after a week of use my acne was virtually gone, I haven't had a breakout since. Also, this does such a good job that I cut out the toner in my skin care routine and my face still looks better than ever. Most days now I just wash my face, put on some sunscreen, and I'm good to go. Okay, the stuff is watery, so much so that I bought a 2 dollar bottle of foaming hand soap just to empty out so I could use that bottle instead. I would encourage anyone else to do the same because it wastes less and makes application easier. Edit: I had to stop using this because it was drying out my skin too much. It really keeps the blemishes at bay but my skin was getting so flaky that it wasn't worth it. I guess the final verdict is that if you tend to be on the dry side, this stuff probably isn't for you.

Treatments -Stridex - Benzoyl Peroxide - Power Pads
rated 3 of 5
breakfasting 12/17/2008 2:17:00 AM

I'm so very conflicted about this product. I do find that my skin clears dramatically without irritation when I use it twice a day, it's just that I don't want to twice a day. I'm lazy - so sue me. If I do forget and skip a usage, it's like I'm back to square one, and I break out all over again. The pads are huge, way to big for one face, they're practically wash cloths, so I cut them in half like many other people have admitted to doing. Using half in the morning and half before bed stretches my supply to last about a month. But that just gets in the way of my laziness. It's a whole other step in the morning that I could skip if they were smaller, I don't want to waste two minutes cutting them in half and then storing the unused portion back in the old wrapper so it doesn't dry up. Another thing, maybe it's just an anomaly, but in my last box, two or three of the wrappers were faulty, the pads inside were all dry and crispy, unusable. I don't hate it, but I'd really just as soon ditch it.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
rated 4 of 5
breakfasting 12/17/2008 1:54:00 AM

I like this because it is so lightweight, and it has SPF, Hurrah! I kind of like the smell, but I know that's objective. It's lasting me a good long time. The one downside, and the reason it doesn't get five lippies, is that it makes my skin shiny afterwords. This isn't even a big deterrent because it sinks in almost completely in about an hour, leaving the skin supple all day.

Skincare - Face -Clearasil - Daily Cleansing Pads
rated 2 of 5
breakfasting 12/17/2008 1:07:00 AM

This product didn't work for me, my skin didn't get clearer, it just felt sticky. The only reason this doesn't get a rating of 1 from me is because salicylic acid treatments never have worked for me, I don't know what I was expecting.

Toners -Zia - Sea Tonic Rosewater & Aloe Toner
rated 4 of 5
breakfasting 9/9/2008 12:24:00 AM

I decided I needed a toner in my skin care regime about a month ago after struggling with variations on the - cleanse, treat, moisturize - routine. I decided on Zia because it was available at the store and contains natural ingredients, no alcohol or parabens. It was only one added step, but, boy, did it make a difference. The look and texture of my skin have dramatically improved since I started using this product. It smells great, feels great, and comes in a spray bottle, which I love - it makes application so quick and easy. I didn't have any trouble with irritation and it makes taking off dirt and oil a breeze.

Treatments -Neutrogena - On the Spot Acne Treatment Vanishing Formula
rated 3 of 5
breakfasting 8/20/2008 3:10:00 PM

This stuff works well for me. I have dry skin and have found that the 2.5% concentration doesn't make my skin peel or itch the way stronger stuff does. I always use a moisturizing sunblock after using benzoyl peroxide and it seems to do the trick. This is the most lightweight acne spot treatment cream that I have encountered, so it gets props on that account. I still have periodic breakouts so I'm going to keep looking, but I'll continue to buy this until something better comes along.

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Persagel 10
rated 2 of 5
breakfasting 8/20/2008 2:49:00 PM

While this product did effectively treat my tough acne problem, even when I applied it sparingly, my skin became dry and flaky as all hell after about a week of use. If your skin, like mine, tends to be on the dry side, then I would advise against this harsh cream. I switched to a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide formula by neutrogena and got the same great acne fighting results with far less irritation.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Protective Moisture Lotion SPF 25
rated 3 of 5
breakfasting 8/20/2008 5:00:00 AM

I bought this product about a year ago and was pleased overall. It moisturizes my skin without making it breakout and doesn't feel heavy or look shiny after application. I stopped using it after a couple of months because I found that it gave my skin a sticky texture and leaves behind a white residue that doesn't soak in or disappear with time. However, due to it's high SPF, I continue to use it on days when i expect to spend a lot of time in the sun.
