Lipstick -NYX - Diamond Sparkle Lipsticks- Sparkling Flamingo
rated 4 of 5

I prefer lipstick over gloss. And this is like gloss in lipstick form. Its super sparkly and pink, glides on easily and looks exactly like a gloss on my lips. Its a pretty, bubble gum meets barbie pink with shimmery sparkles. I like the texture of it, and the sparkle is different from the usual lipsticks I use. I think this is a nice shade for spring/summer, and a nice effect overall. If you like how a gloss looks and how a lipstick wears, try this.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
rated 5 of 5

I was using a drugstore brand curler before, and when that became to flimsy to use it was time for a new one. Having read the raves on the internet about this, I had to check it out for myself, it took a few tries, most of the Sephora stores I went to were out. Once I tried this I was instantly impressed. This does not crimp lashes, at all! The curl is smooth and defined. I love the soft pad, it provides some resistance, which is why I think the lashes don't crimp. Curling eyelashes will make any mascara look good, and lashes will not only look nice and curled, they'll look longer too. What I like to do is curl, then apply mascara, then let the mascara dry THOROUGHLY and curl again. Because the mascara is dry, it doesn't stick to the curler and looks really dramatic, giving my eyes that sought after awake and alert look (so crucial in this sleep-deprived generation). So what if this cost around 20$? Its super durable, you'll have it forever, and the results are worth the price.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Striptease
rated 4 of 5

The perfect nude gloss. Over something like Mac Myth or Creme D'Nude its lovely. All those seeking a true nude lip, this delivers. It is sticky, but with my short hair it doesn't matter, and the staying power's not great. I find myself asking the question "did I really buy a 30$ lipgloss?" quite often, however, I prefer lipsticks over glosses, so I only need one good one, and this is it. The color, sleek packaging and the lack of sparkle in this is worth the drawbacks to me.

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
rated 5 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/7/2010 11:30:00 PM

I've been wanting a bronzer for a while, after seeing glowing photos of Sienna Miller, my beauty icon, looking sun kissed and radiant. I've considered Benefit, Cargo and Tarte as contenders, but ended up getting this because I've loved all products by Nars I've tried so far. I'm glad I chose this as my bronzier. As many have stated, this bronzer doesn't make you look orange, or too shimmery, or dirty. Its perfect! I like that the pan is large, so you can sweep your brush over it just once and its enough product, just enough, I don't think I'll ever run out of this, and I love that it comes with a large mirror that you can actually use to see your entire face. Overall this really warms up the face without looking like a fake tan. All Nars creations are heavenly, if overpriced. May this be the only bronzer you'll ever need or use, its that good.

Lipstick -NARS - Lipstick in Dolce Vita
rated 5 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 9:56:00 PM

After the recent addition of this lipstick to my collection, it has become my favourite lipstick. My lips are pink naturally, so this just deepens the color, making it an almost red, but a subtle, wearable everyday red. I use this with minimal eye makeup and my Nars Cactus Flower Creme Blush, and it looks super pretty. The quality of this lipstick, like all Nars products, is simply amazing. Although I don't mind paying the money for a product that's worth it, I'd rather buy MAC lipsticks which are better priced, without a compromise in quality and a wider color selection.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 8:24:00 PM

I really like this. Its one of the best concealers out there, very comparable to high end stuff like Benefit. There's a pretty good color selection, the texture's great, and this is easily blended and spread over larger problem areas as well as small blemishes. Its not great on dry patches of skin, but what concealer is? I have pimples pop up all the time, and this is a great help to cover them, if my skin tone's not too uneven, I can wear this alone, with not foundation or powder over it, its that blendable! This is a good happy medium between a stick concealer and a liquid. Good price, good packaging.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 8:17:00 PM

This stuff is amazing. Simply amazing. The new angled tip makes for easy application and the ability to reach more of the product in the curvy tube. The biggest benefit of this product, for me, has been the unbelievable color payoff I've gotten with my eyeshadow. As an experiment I've used this on my arm, using both a UD shadow and a physicians formula shadow, on skin with primer and without. The difference in pigmentation is incredible, on both high end and drugstore shadows. With this primer, shadows look rich, saturated and full of color. Using this primer also makes shadows last longer overall, as you'd need to either reapply without it or just use more to get the same depth of color. I'd use this just for the color payoff alone, not to mention the creasing elimination and long lasting. I also have this in Sin, a great shimmery base that can stand alone as a creamy shadow.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic in Carbon Black
rated 1 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 8:06:00 PM

I really, really wanted to like this, because as far as I can remember, I liked the original telescopic, and what can be better than clean, long and defined lashes? Unfortunately I couldn't even go out with it on once. This mascara clumped my lashes into teams, making it look like I had about five really fat lashes. And to top it off, the wet formula of this completely flattened the curl I put into my lashes using my Shu Umeura curler. I know a lot of people liked this, but this is just my honest experience with this mascara, on my average lashes.

Mascara -Urban Decay - Big Fatty Mascara
rated 2 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:59:00 PM

Some girls at school were raving about this, and it was one of the first expensive mascaras i bought, and I even bought a second tube. This just doesn't live up to its claims, so don't bother with this. And don't let the psychedelic tube brainwash you into getting it! Something like BadGal would be a much more worthwhile mascara.

Mascara -Fresh - Firebird Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:51:00 PM

This was my second foray into the world of expensive mascaras (back when I was young and naive, and thought that the more the stuff cost, the better it was) after being disappointed with two tubes of UD Big Fatty, I picked this up because I was intrigued by this mascara's claims to make lashes look "feathery"--that just sounds dreamy. While I liked how soft this made my lashes, and the fanned out look my fringe got, I ultimately didn't find this to be worth the money, and it flaked more than any other mascara I've ever used before or since -- a huge problem. My lashes looked nice, but the flaking wasn't cool. I've never considered buying this again. But that packaging, GORGEOUS!

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Mascara Duo
rated 4 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:42:00 PM

Colored mascara's can be interesting, but unfortunately most don't have great color payoff, this is a different story. It offers the best of both worlds, a color you can actually see on you lashes, and the subtlety to pull it off without looking ridiculous. The brush is pretty much the same as their Organic Wear brush, but on the black side its thicker. I just wish the formula was a bit more dry, so i'd be easier to hold the curl. The great thing though, is that you're not just buying a coloful mascara, you're also getting a black with it, this makes it more of a useful item and gives you the ability to control the amount of color you apply. I got this in purple, its great, I might be interested in trying other colors, and the packaging is the most beautiful I've seen on a drugstore tube.

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara
rated 4 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:32:00 PM

I really like this mascara, the brush is great, and it defines, adds volume and length beautifully, all the while being a natural product. My only problem with this is the formula, its pretty wet, so it can get on your lids, but washes off easily and looks great. While its not a popular drugstore tube, its worth a try. Not sure how I feel about the packaging though...

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - buxom lash
rated 5 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:29:00 PM

HG all the way! This is one of the few mascaras i'd buy again instead of moving on to something new. I really love this. I have so many mascaras in my collection, which is always growing and changing, from high end to low end and I reach for this more often than any other tube. The brush is genius, the bristles are great, the formula is super buildable, no clumps, none, ever! To get the look of fab lashes, I put this on curled lashes, wait for it to dry throughly so they don't stick to my curler and curl them again, and apply another light coat, even over dry lashes with at coat on already, this looks great! As close to falsies as I've been able to get.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
rated 4 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:25:00 PM

This is a very nice product, it feel good on my lashes, and doesn't make them feel stiff or crunchy, its not the best for length, but it does a great job at volume, and makes the base of the lashes really full and thick, and holds curl nicely. Also, I die for the packaging! This is not HG, but pretty darn good! I wouldn't buy again simply because the mascara world is too vast for me to be stuck on one thing if it doesn't totally blow me away.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Nourishing Mascara Triple Effect
rated 5 of 5
bootsonbarelegs 4/6/2010 7:20:00 PM

This is my favourite drug store mascara! I've tried a LOT of them, at least a dozen from the drugstore alone, so that's really saying something. I love this. It gives great length, thickness and black color, it doesn't mess with the curl i put into my lashes, and stays on. The brush is pretty smart, with a longer side and a shorter side used one after the other to achieve both length and thickness, although I don't find the short side to be all that helpful, its still one of the best mascaras out there. It deserves more attention.
