Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
boo_hiss 3/26/2011 2:28:00 AM
This is the only liquid eyeliner I will buy and use. I have it in black and black/brown, and I've repurchased both many times. It's easy to apply and stays until you take it off, with no smudging at all. I think it's a bargain at twice the price. Love it.

Eyeliner -New York Color - Liquid Eyeliner
boo_hiss 12/12/2009 6:21:00 AM
I bought this eyeliner based off a Youtube review and I don't really like it. I've been using Revlon Colorstay liquid liner, which I LOVE, but I thought this one is so cheap, why not try it too. I definitely prefer the Colorstay felt tip style to this flimsy paintbrush style. I like thin eyeliner brushes for gel liners but not liquid. This also does not seem to be as deep of a black as Revlon. I might keep the brush, just to use it for my gel liners but I wasn't blown away by this formula. It just made me like Revlon more.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
boo_hiss 12/11/2009 7:21:00 AM
Wow, Angel isn't up here yet? Anyway, I know tons of people love this lipstick but it was very MEH on me. Fairly drying, like I find all MAC lipsticks to be, regardless of finish. The color is a very pretty bubblegum pink, with a lustre finish, IIRC. It doesn't last very long once on and it's nothing really spectacular to me. I swapped mine and I found that Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon was more to my tastes. I wouldn't buy Angel again, or B2M for it.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
boo_hiss 12/8/2009 11:24:00 AM
I think this is the best drugstore foundation there is. I first started using it almost exactly a year ago and I loved it, but I'm a junkie so I had to start trying other things. Now I have come full circle and I am using Colorstay again and this time I mean it! It looks natural, it stays all day, it isn't expensive, and Ivory matches my skin exactly. I personally like the oily version better only because it seems to have a more matte finish, which I prefer. If you're hesitant about trying it, remember that the things some people hate about it are what other people love: it says on your skin and it's heavy/full coverage. If you don't need a long wearing, full coverage foundation then don't buy this at all.

Clothes -Victoria's Secret - General Opinion
boo_hiss 12/5/2009 12:19:00 PM
Not a fan! When I was getting ready for my wedding in 2008, I went into VS to pick up a bustier to wear with my strapless dress. I wear a 38C which I don't think falls out of the common range. The associate told me they don't make bustiers "that big" and she gave me a 36B to try on. Needless to say, it didn't fit. I went to JC Penney and immediately found a bustier in the right size. Other than that experience, I think all VS fragrances smell tacky and cheap. Like, sickeningly sweet or cloying and foody. The men's are okay, but you can do much better; same with their makeup. The whole store, to me, is a joke, and everything is so overpriced.

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen
boo_hiss 11/25/2009 11:50:00 AM
I really liked this liner at first, but I've tried it two or three times and every time it transfers up onto my browbone. Ugly! Totally not waterproof. It's convenient to use but since it doesn't stay where I apply it I'm not keeping it or buying it again. Unfortunately with ELF I find that you more often than not get what you pay for.

Primer/ Corrector -Lancome - La Base Pro
boo_hiss 11/25/2009 8:49:00 AM
Wow, this is the primer I have been looking for! This is definitely the end of the line for me as far as primers go. I've tried Smashbox PFP, Shiseido (which I like for a more creamy, moisturizing primer but not for long wear), Revlon, Bee Luscious (or whatever brand sells it, it's private label), and a few others which I'm surely forgetting. This Lancome one is the FIRST to actually show a difference in wear of my foundation. It makes my skin feel super smooth and the foundation goes on like a dream. I also notice a drastic difference in the shininess of my face throughout the day. Instead of powdering 2-3 times I'm just powdering once. This is very different than Smashbox Photo Finish so if you disliked PF then don't be afraid that La Base Pro is the same. PF felt greasy and oily on my face, and it was unusable for me under my eyes but Lancome feels completely different on the skin. I almost didn't buy this because it looks like Smashbox and I thought, "oh another silicone primer, whatever." I am hooked on this stuff and my primer search has ended.

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Koala
boo_hiss 11/22/2009 5:10:00 AM
I got this eyeshadow as a free sample with my order and it's lovely. It's a cool, satiny purple, and on the skin it doesn't look as dark as it does in the jar. I just want to mention that on my eyes it's almost identical to MAC Circa Plum pigment. If you missed out on Circa Plum then try this. It's a little less frosty but that is easy enough to fix. Awesome texture and very blendable. If you like purples you need to own this! (I know this does not look purple on the site picture or in the description, but it does appear purple to me in the jar as well as on my skin.)

Concealers -E.L.F. - Studio Line Concealer Pencil & Brush
boo_hiss 11/20/2009 6:57:00 AM
This pencil is fabulous! It is one thing I always carry with me in my purse. It covers well when set with powder. I've used it on giant, angry zits and while it doesn't make the blemish look invisible it makes it look a LOT less noticeable. Unless you actually twist the cap when you put it on, it's not going to nick your concealer. I like that it has the sharpener there so I don't have to carry another one. My only complaint is I wish it came in one lighter color. But when set with powder it looks okay. Try it!

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Studio Single Eyeshadow Mystic Moss
boo_hiss 11/19/2009 10:07:00 PM
Great product for the price. I can see MAC making a shade like this. It has a very smooth texture and stays on well. On my eye it looks more grayish than green but it has enough green so that it doesn't look dirty or flat. Overall a great product.

Loose Powders -Avon - Ideal Shade Loose Powder
boo_hiss 11/19/2009 7:11:00 AM
I have no complaints about this powder! It's inexpensive and it works. I use a little sometimes on my finger to set my undereye concealer and it doesn't get cakey there like some can. The container has a screw top lid so it closes securely. Overall nothing wrong with this, it works perfectly.

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Mascara Base [DISCONTINUED]
boo_hiss 11/19/2009 7:09:00 AM
This is a very good mascara base. It's easy to tell a difference between using it and not using it. I like it because it holds a curl well, and because it seems to make my mascara a tad water-resistant. It makes mascara last a very long time. I work graveyard shifts and I wear this base with my mascara and it looks good through my shift at work, and my nap at home before school in the afternoon. I gave it a 4 because it's expensive and because I don't feel it's totally necessary - I don't use it daily. But I said I would repurchase it because I do like it.

Eye Makeup Remover -L'Oreal - Refreshing Eye Make Up Remover
boo_hiss 11/15/2009 10:13:00 AM
Terrible! It doesn't remove anything. Other reviewers have said it all already. I prefer cream type removers but for liquid my HG is Mary Kay. Do not buy this! Buy anything other than this. It is a total waste of money.

Cleansers -Lancome - Huile Douceur
boo_hiss 11/14/2009 2:32:00 PM
This is the first cleansing oil I've used but I really love it. It smells wonderful and light and I love how it emulsifies with water. This oil is more convenient for me to buy than any other brand so I'll probably stick with it. The bottle is big and it looks classy, and the pump doesn't leak, which is something I was worried about. It feels luxurious to use and it's nice when I'm tired of plain ol' Noxzema. I would repurchase this and I don't feel an urge to try another brand.

Blush -Smashbox - Blush Rush in Bare
boo_hiss 11/7/2009 11:53:00 AM
Unfortunately, I have to ruin the raves for this blush. I'm NW15 and it did not show up on me at all! Granted, I do have rosy cheeks, which I try with varying degrees of success to cover with foundation, but I thought this blush would at least give a shimmery glow. No color or shimmer at all shows up on my cheeks. This might possibly work for you if your cheeks are very pale but if you have any color at all to your face you should probably skip this.
