Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara
bombace 12/20/2012 1:08:00 PM
I really like this product. For me it separates and lengthens very well and I must say I do think my lashes have grown a little bit from using it. Maybe its because it doesn't have as many harsh chemicals. I think overall it's a good basic mascara to have in your make up bag but its not overly amazing in terms of adding length in volume but I'll keep repurchasing for everyday use.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
bombace 12/19/2012 1:49:00 PM
I didn't buy this brush for a long time because I hate spending $20 on one brush. I love Sam Chapman's Real Techniques brushes and used them for blending all the time. I finally broke down and I have to admit I love this brush. Its wonderful for blending and laying down color. I'll probably end up buying another one even though my budget will hate me. If you have some extra cash I would definitely splurge on this brush.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
bombace 12/19/2012 1:36:00 PM
I love this palette. It's $50 at Ulta and I could never bring myself to buy it but it was given to me as a gift. I love the colors and I love the quality of the colors. I use an eye primer before hand. I rotate between ELF eyelid primer and UD's primer potion, they seem to work the same for me. The colors wear good all day long and they blend together so nicely. If you have some extra $$ to spend I say go for this palette or put it on your wish list to Santa. I haven't tried the Naked 2 palette but I might get it one day, I'm sure the quality is just as good.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve
bombace 12/19/2012 1:31:00 PM
I looooove love love this product! Maybe it is just a fancy Vaseline but for me works way better. I've had horrible horrible chapped lips for one month straight. Even the skin around my mouth was red, dry and peeling. I tried lotions, carmex, aquaphor, vaseline, olive oil, argon oil, etc. . . nothing worked. Heard about this from a lady at work who had been using it for 30+ years. I bought it from Mast General store for $6. A little pricey for "chapstick" but I was desperate. It soothed my lips instantly! After about 3 full days of using it, my lips and the skin around my lips completely back to normal. I've even used it on zits and cuts and it heals those faster too! I'm a Smiths Rosebud Salve user for life!

Foundations -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full-Coverage Foundation SPF 15
bombace 12/19/2012 1:25:00 PM
I wanted to love this so badly. I have dry skin, especially during the winter. I always use moisturizer before my foundation. It says the amazonian clay will cater to your skins needs; hydrating the dry places and absorbing oil in other places. This didn't happen in my case, HOWEVER, the texture is wonderful! Light and blends fantastically! It really does feel like a second skin. It's also made with no harsh ingredients which is a plus. I tried several times but after applying, I rechecked my skin several hours later and it was clinging to the dry patches, so I returned it. For normal to oily skin gals, I think you would love it!

Liquid -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Smooth Absolute
bombace 12/19/2012 1:18:00 PM
I love love this foundation. I always try new products but keep coming back to this for my everyday foundation. I have dry skin, especially during the winter months. For me this foundation hydrates my skin, smooths everything out and doesn't settle into my smile lines around my mouth while giving medium coverage that I can build a little. I've gone through 2 or 3 bottles. At wal-mart the prices was $13 or $14 I think...a little pricey for drugstore. However, at Ulta, just recently it's been marked down to $3.79. And its stayed at the price for several weeks! If you have dry skin, give it a try, keep the receipt just in case. Highly recommended for dry skin.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
bombace 12/19/2012 1:11:00 PM
This palette is exactly what it's titled...Basic. The colors are staple colors without all that sparkle. Personally, for me it's a must have in my makeup collection. I have the matte palette from Too Faced that I enjoy as well. It has a greater range of matte colors but I really do prefer the quality of UD's eyeshadows. I bought the Basics palette at Ulta for $27 as a Christmas gift to myself. If you have some extra cash to splash I say go for it.

Sunscreen -Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 45 (Sephora exclusive)
bombace 4/30/2012 2:29:00 PM
Hello MUA reviewers!! I am obsessed with skincare and keeping my skin healthy. Sunscreen is a big factor in that. I love the idea of this suncreen. It's easy and portable and you can reapply it throughout the day if needed without messing up your make up. I have fair, dry skin and i am sensitive to sun. I agree with another reviewer who said the brush is scratchy, but I overlook it and I'm just more gentle with the application. I havent had any issues with the product not comin through the brush i think the design is genius. Also, they powder does look dark but i didn't have any issues with it making my face look darker. My bigges complaint would be the price. I splurged and paid $30 at Sephora. I'm hoping the product lasts me a while so i can justify the price. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush
bombace 4/30/2012 2:23:00 PM
Hello MUA reviewers! I love this blush. I have dry skin and cremes works so much better for me because they feel more hydrating and last longer. I bought NYX cream blush in Rouge. It's a SUPER bright pink with great pigmentation. I have fair skin, so for me a little goes a long way and i can build it up easily. I thought the price was good too, around $6. Another great quality product at a good price from NYX.

Cleansers -Merle Norman - Luxiva Clear Complexion Gel Cleanser
bombace 4/27/2012 3:59:00 PM
Hello MUA reviewers! I have battled moderate acne all of my teenage / young adult life. I'm 24 now and my skin type has changed several times from oily, to combo, to dry. Currently i have very dry skin but still get breakouts. I've never had horrible horrible acne like when must see a dermatologist, just minor redness and zits, but of course to me its "horrible". The reason I went to Merle Norman is because my mom has used them since she was in her mid twenties and she has great skin for 55yrs old. I liked the idea of having a store that i could "grow old" with and change the products as my face chages, with the help of a MN rep to guide me. After couple weeks of using the entire Clear Clomplexion line, i could tell a big difference in tone and texture. I still get the occasional breakout, but now feel like they go away much quicker and my skin doesn't suffer as much. Now, having used the product line for 4 mths i can say i am goin to stick with it as long as i need to. The down side is the initial cost is VERY pricy. BUT a little of each product goes a long way so they can last you a long time. I think the cost probably evens itself with how long the products last. Good luck!

Crème -Maybelline - Dream Smooth Mousse
bombace 4/27/2012 3:48:00 PM
Hello MUA reviewers!! I have VERY dry skin. For several years I used Bare Minerals b/c it was more natural and I thought I liked it plus I thought it was better for my skin. As time went on and I did more research on products and learned more about what I wanted from a makeup, I learned that liquids/creams would be a better fit for me. The liquids conceal my dry skin better and help with my overall complexion over time. This product is very mositurizing and for me lasts almost all day. I also think if you apply it in thin layers, it can be very buildable and give you good coverage. I wish they gave you more product but that wont stop me from buying it again. I really think this is my HG foundation. If you have dry skin i would highly recommend giving it a try. If you buy it a Walmart or someplace similar you can always return it with a receipt. Good Luck!!

Eye Primer -E.L.F. - Eyelid Primer
bombace 4/27/2012 3:39:00 PM
Hello MUA reviewers!! I've used several different eye primers as well as trying to use concealers or foundatons to take the place of an eye primer. I truely think this primer gives me some of the best results and it's SUPER cheap. If you want to make your eye shadow last longer and not crease I would highly recommend this. For $1 what do you have to lose? Good luck!
