An every day wearable neutral (light-med brown) that looks good on its own all over the lid or as an outer crease colour.
Smells terrible but helps remove any dirt/oil/makeup residue I missed from washing my face with a cleanser. Not sure if it's the sole cause of keeping my acne at bay but it does get rid of any residue that can clog my (sometimes) dilated pores. I use a cosmetic cotton pad and swipe the lotion all over my face and neck. Tingly feeling is nice and refreshing.
Great for touch-ups throughout the day, whenever my skin starts to look oily (with or without makeup). I also use it to set/mattify my liquid foundation if looks too dewy.
Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack

Smooth, long lasting, soft finish, smudge proof! This is my first gel-type liner and I have to admit I'm hooked and I doubt I'll be going back to any type of pencil eyeliner any time soon. I use the 263 brush to apply this along my lashline. This is a very small angle brush that gives great precision for however I want to wear my eyeliner. I dip my brush into the pot and very lightly, in a dabbing motion pick up small amount onto the brush and then apply a thin line to the middle of my lashline and work my way inwards, then outwards building up more liner at my outer lashline. This makes my eyes look wider and my lashline appear fuller. Great product, reasonable price. Will buy again.
Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Angled Eyeliner Brush

I use this everyday to fill in my light eyebrows and it works great; it's easy to handle, bristles are compacted and sturdy enough to deliver the right amount of colour/fill you need. I've tried using it to apply MAC's blacktrack fluid line and it works ok, not great. I use the MAC's 263 brush for precise eye-lining and creating wings.
This does softens and de-tangles my long hair but it's a mess to use - it chunks off easily and it feels too heavy as a conditioner - I end up washing my hair all over again because it makes my hair feel heavy and greasy...I honestly don't like the smell of it either and regret buying so much of it.
This is going to take me forever to use up! I use NC30 for under eyes and to cover blemishes/scars on my face and it's a perfect match for me. I love how liquidized this concealer is - it makes it easy to blend and work with. Great medium-full coverage. For scars, I first apply a blob on wherever I need to conceal, wait a little (let it dry slightly) and then go over it with MAC mineralize skinfinish natural (in medium) to blend away the harsh edges with a tapered/fluffy brush until it seamlessly settles evenly with the rest of my face. Works wonders this way for me. I use my fingers to blend the under eye area, and a concealer brush for the blemishes.
Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium

I absolutely LOVE this!!! I like to keep my makeup light, quick and simple and I like to use this alone as my makeup base. I use Select Cover-up concealer (NC30 for reference) blemishes/scars and use this to buff/blend the concealer until it settles seamlessly onto my skin. It works amazingly this way and I honestly don't know how I went so long without it in my makeup arsenal/routine. I use ecotools powder brush (so nice and soft!! but doesn't pick up too much which is ok with me) to apply this all over my face and it makes my face look flawless every time.
I picked this up for $13 CAD along with Topeka blush at sephora (because they are discontinuing the line and selling all products for 50% off). I'm an NC30 and this is the most gorgeous matte blush I've ever tried. The closest to a colour description I can think of for this one is...romantic pinkish mauve. It looks a little bland in the tin but when you apply it, the natural pink makes your whole complexion look soft and fresh. Great pigmentation, texture is velvety soft to the touch, a little goes a long way, coverage is buildable. Definitely a winner in my blush collection and will buy again even at full price if and when I run out of this which may take a long while - Cargo packs these tins with a very generous amount :)
I used to use this as a face cleanser but found it to be too harsh if used everyday or every other day; now I only use it once a week or so to cleanse around my nose area to prevent blackheads. I also use it as a body exfoliate in the shower especially around my neck, back and shoulders - it really vacuums up the dead skin cells and makes those areas feel clean and very smooth. I follow up with body lotion and I've noticed a gradual sheen to my shoulders which used to look very dull.
Lipstick -BeneFit Cosmetics - full-finish lipstick lady's choice
bohochic 1/8/2010 11:32:00 PM
One of the best lipsticks I have ever bought - it's creamy, smooth, hydrating, long lasting, and the colour payoff is phenomenal. It's the perfect shade that suits my moderately pigmented lips making them look natural and not obvious i'm wearing a different shade from my actual nude lips. This is my everyday lipstick when I don't opt for a tinted lip butter. Love it and will definitely pick up another when I'm done.
Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - Infallible Never Fail Powder
bohochic 1/8/2010 11:12:00 PM
This used to work great with my skin but lately I've realized that this 'never fail' powder was the source of my face breaking out . The pressed powder itself can't be discredited here; it's really soft, and it goes on velvety smooth with a powder brush - a little goes a long way. Great for evening out skin tone and it covers some imperfections pretty well. Good coverage and results just bad after effects and crappy packaging.
My skin complexion is quite fair (hovering between NC20/30) and my lips are naturally pigmented, muted pink. I'm a minimalist when it comes to makeup so powder, eyeliner and blush is all I really use so when I add this lip butter to the mix, it brightens up my whole look. It goes on very smooth, it's moisturizing and my lips look soft, rosey and healthy. Only downfall is that it doesn't last long and I have to reapply which gets annoying.
Moisturizers -Vichy - Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
bohochic 1/7/2010 6:27:00 PM
I have oily-combination skin and this moisturizer has helped me get my occasional cystic pimples under control. I've been using this for about 4 weeks and each time I use it, I can visibly see the inflammation and size of my pimple(s) reduced the next day. It's very lightweight and helps control sebum production and is great for mattifying my face. I use this every morning under my sunscreen because its not very 'hydrating' when used on it own. It has gradually helped improve the texture and tone of my skin, I'll definitely repurchase.
Toners -Clinique - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion
bohochic 1/7/2010 6:00:00 PM
I hesitated to try this at first because of my horrible experience with the regular clarifying lotion 3 a few months back in the summer, but I figured I'd give their acne solutions line a chance since I started to breakout pretty badly and needed a toner with salicylic acid, and I like this so much better and it doesn't dry out my skin as much! I get the occasional cystic pimple here and there but I find that when I pair this toner with an anti-imperfection moisturizer the inflammation calms down, the size is reduced, and the pimple disappears after a few days. I've been using this for about 3 weeks everyday, morning and night and I've noticed my skin gradually becoming clearer. I don't use the acne solutions 3-Step cleanser or the moisturizer because I feel I have comparable products that work just as well. It's very easy to use, and I find that having to shake it every time makes the toning process a bit more interesting so I don't mind. I would highly recommend this for those who can't stand their face breaking out for another day and really want their clear skin back!!
