Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Infiniti Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron 1
boarddumb 11/18/2011 12:40:00 AM
This one's a definite winner! I stood in the aisle at the CVS for a good ten minutes deciding between this model or a 3-pack of metal curling irons of different sizes for $5 less. I'm glad I chose quality over quantity in this case because I am so happy with this iron. I chose it because it's made of tourmaline ceramic instead of metal, has a pretty high temperature, and it also came with a heat protecting sleeve. When I got it out of its packaging I was also happy to find that it has a swivel cord and perfect tension in the clamp. I have thick, dense, wavyish, fairly difficult hair. This curling iron was so smooth it glided over my hair but didn't lose its grip at the ends. The curls themselves are smooth and gorgeous and manageable. I use the lower settings for loose, casual curls and the higher settings for when I want my hair to have a lot of volume. I'm giving 5 lippies despite that annoying button issue and that damned tapered end that causes me to burn my fingertips sometimes because, really, you're not going to find another iron of this quality at such a low price. Amazing iron, really.

This smells like baby powder and Dr. Pepper. Oddly, though, it works. B-
Berry Vanilla is a nice scent, and I'm sorry to see it go. It doesn't exactly smell like the name implies, but I like it better for that reason. To me, it smells like strawberry lemonade. The lemon never quite fades on my skin, and the vanilla is actually very shy as compared to the other scents in the Vanillas collection. It's a fresh, inoffensive scent perfect for young girls (preteen to high school). It's so yummy when I spray it in my hair, because when I toss my head the scent diffuses around me and I feel so pretty. Good solid light summery scent, but not anything super special.
I bought this scent originally because it reminded me of my preschool teacher. I loved the way she smelled and it brought back so many good memories that I had to have it. This smells like sour grapes, (which I don't think is a bad thing), spices, and vetiver. It isn't very sweet, but that's what I like about it. It's a night time scent to wear when you want to feel sexy or mysterious. I do think it may be a little mature for me at 22 years old, but I'll save it for semi-formal events here and there.

I love to layer this scent with the whole ritual--shower gel, body lotion, and body spray. It has such a rich, bold, yet feminine and powdery scent. When I first put it on, I get a blast of musk, cherry, and incense. Within an hour, it dries down to a very powdery floral that makes me feel mature and pretty. When I wear it, my friends say that I smell like I just got out of the shower. This is my boyfriend's favourite scent. It's not mine, but I can definitely see why it's such a big seller.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Summer Vanillas - Apricot Vanilla mist

This is a scent which changes markedly depending on which product you are using. In the body cream, I didn't like it much because it smelled too generic and simple: just straight sweetness with almost no hint of fruit; unremarkable. The spray has much more of a kick of apricot. The shower gel is mellow, but creamy and pleasant. The lotion is my favourite form of this scent, as it smells familiar and soft; a dessert-like fragrance as I think the Summer Vanillas were sort of intended to be. It isn't my favourite scent in the Vanillas collection, but I would buy it over Coconut or Berry Vanilla any day. Smells a bit like a convenience store to me. I know that sounds weird, but it must be that "candy" smell. Still, pretty good. Wouldn't repurchase, but I don't regret getting it in the first place.
This scent is a throwback to Bath & Body Works' older, more one-note fruity scents. It's not sophisticated, but it wasn't meant to be. It's a sweet, candy-like scent that lifts me up when I smell it. Even though I like it, it does have a sort of harsh chemical smell at first whiff and it actually burns my nose a bit. That fades after about a minute or so and it settles into a dessert mango aroma. Doesn't last long, however. I have to keep reapplying every hour or so. Within this collection, I prefer the Fiji Passionfruit, but bought this because my boyfriend likes it a lot...drives him crazy.
This used to be my signature scent, though I have moved on since last year. I do still love PSILY and still spritz it on from time to time, but it really isn't a good summer scent. It does have a very strong rose note, and I can definitely see why some people don't like this scent because of the deep patchouli and sandalwood notes. As some have already said, it's VERY easy to overdo it on this scent. However, when applied with a careful hand this scent is very mature, feminine, and sexy. I get compliments literally every time I wear it--from my boyfriend to family members to complete strangers. It's definitely a keeper!
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Moonlight Path Body Splash

The thing about Moonlight path is that I absolutely LOVE how it smells in the bottle--soft, feminine, sensual, sophisticated. I bought the body cream, EDT, body spray, and shower gel in this scent without first trying it on me...big mistake. Once I got it home and put it on, it smelled like a combination of sunblock and old woman. I don't smell any of the lavender or violet notes...just musk. I exchanged the body spray and shower gel for Japanese Cherry Blossom, and I plan to exchange the body cream and the EDT for Sensual Amber. MP is a good scent on its own, but just didn't cut it for me.
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Summer Vanillas Lemon

The only Summer Vanilla I would buy, I can't get enough of this scent! It's just so yummy and delicious. It's a great summer scent, perfect for having a nice day out with your friends or just lounging around at home. It's just the perfect balance of lemon and vanilla: it's not a sharp household cleaner-like citrus with a vanilla afterthought like Victoria's Secret's Lemon Paradise, and it's not overly sweet and cloying like Warm Vanilla Sugar. It smells like lemon tea cookies at first application, but dries down to a more mellow, sweet vanilla. What I also like about this scent is that it's young and fresh, but it's not a fruit punch teenybopper kind of scent. Perfect for my age group. My only complaint is that the packaging is kind of...well...ugly. But that's okay; I can camouflage it by placing it with all of the rest of my B&BW products. I want to stock up before B&BW discontinues the scent. Hopefully it makes another reappearance next summer, or better yet--it gets reincarnated into a Signature Scent. LOVE it.

If you want to go for a booze-and-cough-syrup smell, this one's for you! It smells disgusting even in the bottle. This is the only B&BW scent that makes me gag. Any time someone is wearing it, I look around to see who has been drinking too much wine/downed a bottle of Robitussin.
