Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Strawberry Tinted Lipcare SPF 4

This is a great tinted lip balm! I like it a lot better than the Cherry flavored one. It is pretty moisturizing and feels smooth on my lips. The sheer red tint really flatters my skin tone (and I think it would look good on a lot of different skin tones). I will definitely be repurchasing this!
Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer spf15
bmk4343 9/27/2010 1:55:00 PM
I've been using this product several weeks now, and I believe it will be my new HG daily moisturizer. I switched from Aveeno Ultra Calming. To start, I have really weird, sensitive, combination skin. Certain products (Aveda, Eucerin, Oil of Olay), have something in them that I am very sensitive to and literally gives me hives. Aveeno products have never caused me a problem. I decided to try the Positively Radiant (even though I've been very happy with the Ultra-Calming) because I have some age spots and was hoping it would help. The product went on smooth and really did seem to improve the tone of my skin. It does a good job balancing out my combination skin. There is definitely glitter, but I actually liked it. It was hardly noticeable on my unless I got really close to the mirror and I like the soft, dewy look it gave me. I think it would be more noticeable on certain complexions, but I like it on me. It is pricey, but still cheaper than the department store brands that I liked just as much. One bottle used every mornings lasts me over 6 months.
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Shimmering Sands
bmk4343 8/12/2010 5:41:00 PM
I really like this trio. I own TONS of eyeshadow and I find myself using this one the most. The colors have just the right amount of shimmer to brighten up my eyes, but I like that they are very neutral. And even though they are very simple, I can create a lot of different looks with it. Not the best pigmentation I've seen, but for a super cheap drugstore makeup, it's great. I also agree with other reviewers that the first color is too much to use as a highlight under the brow.
I bought this after using the Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo - I was looking for a cheaper alternative. So I'm comparing it to a higher end product - but I don't like it at all. I tried using it a few different ways and I just didn't think it made my hair feel that clean. And it only kept the oil away for a few hours. And it did nothing to help add volume which is what I like about dry shampoos. It was okay at freshening up my hair a bit, but there are much better alternatives out there. I'll be sticking to my Oscar Blandi.
This is the best dry shampoo I have found. I've been using this about 6 months. I've always washed my hair everyday until I found this. Now I wash every other day, sometimes even every three days. And I actually like my hair better on day two. It leaves my fine hair texturized and volumized at the roots and best of all - my hair feels and looks clean and fresh! And it continues to absorb oil all day - so it doesn't get ratty looking by the evening. I have dark brown hair and have had no problem with powdery residue. You don't need that much - I think if you have powder residue left you are using too much - you just need enough to absorb any oil. I also am careful not to get it right up against my scalp because it can be harder to get off - but if you do, just use a boar bristle brush. Overall, great product and the smaller bottle has lasted me 6 months.
I really like Lash Blast Fusion mascara. It goes on smooth and doesn't clump. I think this is a bit more dramatic than the regular Lash Blast, which is my favorite mascara. It just gives me a little more volume and length than the original. And I love that is holds a curl all day when I use my eyelash curler. I think I'll purchase this on my own (I received as a BzzAgent).
I also have this in Champagne and I really like it. I use it for my easy, everyday eye look. I just use this alone on my lid (it's very glittery, so I don't like to use too much) and some eyeliner and it really brightens up my eyes. When used with a primer, it lasts all day on me. I'm very happy with the quality - it is soft and well pigmented. Overall a great buy - I'm hoping to get this in a few more colors too! I just wish Jesse's Girl was available somewhere besides Rite Aid because I there isn't one anywhere near where I live and I don't like ordering cosmetics online.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Latte
bmk4343 6/24/2010 3:25:00 PM
This is my go-to neutral eyeshadow for an everyday look. The colors are so versatile and I've come up with several ways to mix and match the colors to create different looks. Like others said, the copper crease color is the least pigmented - it's a sheer shimmery glitter color, but I still really like it - it makes the quad more fun! I like to use that color on my lower lash line - it really brightens up my eyes. The rest of the colors are smooth and well pigmented - especially the darkest color. I have NW25 skin with blue/gray eyes and these colors are just perfect for bringing out the blue in my eyes.
Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Curlformers-Hair Flair Ltd.
bmk4343 6/22/2010 11:22:00 AM
I've only used these a few times and I love them! I agree, they are probably not best for people with a lot of hair - they'd just take too long to put in. I used about 18 for my entire head of hair - I have a lot of very fine shoulder length hair and the long wide worked well. They take about 10-15 minutes to put in after I got through the learning curve. I started with dry hair and just spritzed it lightly and kept them in for 1 hour while I got ready for work. I know they would work better if I used them right after a shower, but I like to wash my hair every other day and blow it straight on day one and use curlers on day two. When I take them out I have soft, silky, natural looking spiral curls. With a few sprays of hairspray, they stay in pretty well all day. These create the most even and consistent curl of any heat free product I've tried. Love them!
Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Smooth Operator Smoothing Lustre Lotion
bmk4343 6/15/2010 11:18:00 AM
This is overall a great product, although not perfect for my hair type. Even though I have thick hair, it is very fine and I've found if I use too much or too frequently, it builds up in my hair. It does leave my hair very soft and shiny without flyaways. The packaging is adorable and very girly and I love the sweet, fruity scent. I recommended this to a friend with very thick, coarse, wavy hair and she is in love with it.
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Jelly Balm [DISCONTINUED]
bmk4343 5/19/2010 4:28:00 PM
These are so great!! I've had Plush for a few months and I just ran out, so I bought another Plush and picked up Delectable as well. Plush is the a very pretty pale pink. Delectable is a nice sheer red. I love them both so much. I think that both colors would work on almost any skintone. For a sheer balm they are very pigmented and go on super smooth. Delectable definitely gives me more color - on me it is a sheer reddish pink. They have decent (but not great) lasting power and they smell delicious! My only complaint is the price - pretty high for a drugstore product in such a small tub. But I like them enough that I would repurchase.
I adore this perfume. I tried to avoid buying it for years, just spraying it on myself at department stores and deciding it was nice, but not great. I finally bought it last month with a gift card I had and I've worn it pretty much every single day. I love this scent because it simple, pretty and girly and makes me smell like a...princess! On me, I smell a lot of vanilla with hints of fruit and floral. Nothing stands out as overpowering - I think it is very easy to wear and appropriate for all ages. I'll stick to my Calvin Klein Euphoria for a sexier nighttime fragrance, but this is my go to for every day. I will definitely keep buying because I love how it makes me feel pretty and girly.
As far as lasting power, I can smell it on myself for about 6 hours - so it is decent, but not great. My next purchase I may get the little rollerball too so I can do touchups during the day. I also might try the lotion as I've heard that helps prolong the smell. 2-3 sprays are plenty to make it last but not be obnoxious to others in class or the office.
Treatments -Clinique - Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
bmk4343 4/28/2010 1:42:00 PM
I got this as a sample last summer and was able to try it for four weeks. It really worked for me - I have some sun spots on my chin and some light discoloration all over and it really lightened all the up. I just purchased a full sized bottle and it has already helped calm my red and sensitive skin a bit. I know I need to use it longer to see a change in discoloration. My only complaint (and my Clinique rep warned me of this) is the discoloration will come back when you discontinue use. However, this is the only product I've found that really works for me, so I'll just keep using it.
On it's own this polish is mediocre at best. I agree with the other reviewers - too sheer but just not the right color or consistency to work as a sheer polish. But I this is my FAVORITE polish to layer with over other polishes. Right now I have it over ChG Oxygen - a milky white with just a touch of pink. It is a gorgeous, shimmery and sparkly pale pink with flashes of purple and multicolored multiglitter. I've also put it over Orly Bon Bon - a dusty lilac - it looks amazing and gives a more lavender sparkle effect. Over a brighter pink it just gives it more depth and pretty brighter sparkle. I want to try it next over a very dark color like a dark dark plum color!
Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Pearl Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15
bmk4343 1/3/2010 12:06:00 PM
This stuff did not work for me at all and I ended up throwing it away. It made my lips frosty and white. I love most Softlips, but I don't think this would work for anyone unless you are very fair and have naturally light pink lips. I am pretty fair, but my lips are more of a berry/plum colored. I have since found Nivea Kiss of Shimmer which makes my lips a pretty soft pearly pink - much better!
