Fragrance -L'Occitane - Lavender
blush223 7/31/2010 12:25:00 AM
I love L'Occitane's Lavender Harvest line, especially at bedtime. It's so relaxing and lovely. I use the foaming bath, soap and foot cream at night. I bought this fragrance thinking it would be the same heavenly scent as the others. Unfortunately, it is not. To me it has a raw, cheap incense smell to it. Not pleasant at all. It also fades quickly. If I can return it, I will. Very disappointing.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Zeno
blush223 5/26/2009 12:30:00 AM
I got the mini at Walmart yesterday on sale for only $20! I decided, why not! Tried it on a big pimple and some smaller ones. It left temporary red marks, which I expected, but nothing that didn't go away quickly. It didn't hurt badly. Got hot, but didn't burn. It's a bit tricky to use. I probably wasted a few zaps on practice tries. I'm use to it now, though, and it's easy. It really seems to have helped the big pimple -- speeded up the process from several days to overnight to get to the point where I could take care of it and start the healing. As many have said, not as effective on the smaller whitehead types, but I think it did still help move the process along. No miracles, but absolutely worth more than the price I paid. Just hoping Zeno keeps the cartridges available. The guy at Wmart said it was on sale because they were no longer going to carry Zeno products. I may go back and get the regular one if it's still on sale. Works well enough for me.

Bath Treatments -Fresh - Milk Line Bath Foam
blush223 5/8/2009 1:09:00 AM
I use this in Nectarine. It is a wonderful scent! Soft, not overwhelming of cloying, fresh, and the nectarine scent is a blend -- maybe with a touch of a floral, I don't know-- that gives it the most beautiful scent that's hard to describe. Definitely not too fruity or too floral. Not sweet, but not pungent. Very feminine and comforting. Great for spring and summer. I've actually started using this milk bath and lotion instead of Tocca Stella, which I still love, but have gotten a bit tired of, and am annoyed at the direction they took with the Stella EDP. I SOOO wish the Nectarine Milk line would be extended. I use the bath, lotion, and soap -- and buy extra soaps to use as sachets in my clothing drawers. It's that nice. If it's possible to blend this into an EDP, it really should be done! This would be an HG, everyday signature scent for me. I just hope they keep it true to scent if they try to do it, not create a completely difference fragrance as Tocca did. Milk Bath (all fragrances) is fairly expensive, but the scent is so perfect on me (although I wish I could layer more products to make it last longer -- powder, edp, please? I'm willing to splurge for this one an keep it on hand all the time. I rarely do this, but I even emailed Fresh and asked them to consider expanding the Nectarine Milk line. If you agree, please go to the Fresh site and send them an email as well. Maybe if they get enough, they'll do it! Who knows? Can;t hurt.

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
blush223 10/21/2008 7:35:00 AM
Oh my, MAC seems to have the worst foundations on the planet! Wow. I've never had luck with them, but got talked into trying this one (It's totally different! Really! right...). It does everything foundation is not suppose to do, no matter how I apply it. Streaks, doesn't cover, can't build coverage, looks odd after it sets. Then it wears horribly -- settles in every little line. If you don't have lines, don't worry -- this foundation will make fake ones for you when it starts to wear. It blotches up, wears off, you name it. To top it off, I was broken out at the end of the day. This foundation is absolutely the worst I've ever tried. I'm swearing off Mac foundations for good, no matter how much anyone tries to convince me. Nice lipstick and eye makeup, but truly lousy foundations.

Lip Liners -Rimmel - Exaggerate-063 Eastend Snob
blush223 10/1/2008 11:58:00 PM
Wow, thanks to the MUAer who recommended this to me! I've spent tons of time and money trying to find a natural lip pencil--natural for me. Most "natural" lippies are way too beige/brown or peach/orange or Barbie pink on me. This one actually IS my natural lip color. It's a muted shell pink. Not too brown, orange or blue. Matches my skin tone better than any other I've tried. Add to the fact that it has a great, creamy texture that lasts, plus it's an AUTOMATIC pencil (Yea!), and it's pure perfection at an incredible price! I'm getting multiples to stash around. Hope Rimmel keeps this one around for a long time! Update: I have to agree that this is on par in size with other lip liners, including Mac, if comparing apples to apples. Plus, automatics tend to last longer, IMO. It's certainly worth the price, even if it's jumped, considering the price of other brands.

Fragrances -Hermes - 24, Faubourg Eau Delicate
blush223 7/31/2008 7:55:00 PM
Must be a testament to the personal chemistry of fragrance. I had very high expectations for this one, so I ordered it before testing. It just sounded perfect. So, I spritz, wait for the drydown, and...lily, lily, LILY! That is all I smell. No complex or delicate infusion of scents. I don't even know if lily is an official note, but that's all I smell. Straight out strong and oh-so-sweet and cloying lily, which goes right into my sinuses and wreaks havoc. The bottle is so lovely, I don't mind that I bought it, but probably will never be able to wear it. I'm happy for those who love this, but I would test this one first.

Lotions/ Creams -Fresh - Nectarine Milk Body Lotion
blush223 7/24/2008 12:15:00 AM
i love this fragrance -- so wish Fresh would come out with an EDP version of this! Smells like nectarine, but not cloying, plus a clean scent I can't identify. It's lovely! I'd wear this all the time if it were an EDP. Lotion is light -- average. I think the Milk line is overpriced for the quality and the amount of product you get, but I'll continue to buy it because I'm hooked on this fragrance.

Bath Treatments -Laura Mercier - Creme Brulee Honey Bath
blush223 10/10/2007 5:53:00 AM
Major disappointment. Thought this would be a relaxing stress reliever, so I splurged. Im really sorry I did. Smells nice in the jar, but the scent goes away the minute it goes in the bath! Some bubbles, but nothing lavish. Didn't sense that it did anything for my skin or make my bath water silky, nothing like that. For this price??? Grrrr! Which was the whole point of splurging on this, to relax and take away the feeling of "Grrr!" Remember BBW Tutti Dolci line? I'm not generally a BBW fan, but i did really like Tutti Dulci Creme Brulee Honey Bath. I thought that LM's would be a better, higher-end version of sorts. It's actually like a cheaper version. BBW would scent my whole bathroom,, would fill the tub with bubbles, really made for a luxurious bath. LM does none of these things. Not happy at all with this product. If BBW did it for @ $20, LM should be able to give me a wonderfully luxurious bath for @ $50! Jar also is smaller, less product. Won't last long.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Lemonade 3 in 1
blush223 8/2/2007 2:53:00 PM
Love this - It's so refreshing in summer! Not too sweet, not Lemon Pledgey, just a true tart lemonade scent. I use 3-in-1's as a bath soap only, so can't say how it works as a shampoo or bubble bath (but the Lemonade Bubble Bath is WONDERFUL). I love using this along with the scrub, bubble bath and body butter. HG time!

Scrubs -Philosophy - Lemonade Salt Scrub
blush223 8/2/2007 2:37:00 PM
I almost didn't get this because I didn't like the consistency of Amazing Grace scrub at all. This is MUCH better, IMO. It's moisturizing, but not oily, and is a wonderful exfoliant. The scent is tart lemon, almost like lemon zest, which I love. Not Lemon Pledgey, not like lemon candy. Not like Lemon Sugar -- don't expect that. Like real lemonade that's not overly sweet. Very refreshing. I'll be buying this again.

Other -A Zaftig Woman - Soy Tarts
blush223 3/21/2007 12:06:00 AM
Wow, I hate to ruin the 100% rating, but I bought a bunch of these because of the reviews, and I'm pretty disappointed so far. I tried creme brulee first. Maybe I just got a bad batch or some old ones, but there is a very waxy, crayon smell that completely overpowers the scent. I used the proper warmer and tried it several times before I just tossed it. I tried chocolate toasted marshmallow (I think that's it). It was better, but still smelled very waxy. I'm a candle/tart lover, and have never experienced this strong of a wax overpowering scent smell. I'll try the others I bought, but won't buy again. I like the bath melts and the company, just not the soy tarts.

Fragrances -Tocca - Stella EDP
blush223 11/13/2006 10:59:00 PM
Aw, what a disappointment. After waiting for this for several years because i LOVE Stella as a lotion, candle, etc., I was so excited to see this coming out. It resembles the true Stella scent for about 3 minutes. Just the topnotes, then morphs into a very generic floral. Fairly nice floral, but there are tons of similar florals out there. This is absolutely nothing like Tocca's Stella as we've known it before. It's just an average floral. Definitely try it before you buy. I'm really unhappy with it.

Fragrances -Frederic Malle - Musc Ravageur
blush223 9/5/2006 6:31:00 PM
Imagine my surprise when I spritzed this and smelled...Campho-Phenique! I'm serious - I'd swear there's camphor in the top notes if I didn't know better. Fortunately, it left on drydown and did leave a nicer musky, smoky scent. I like it, but won't wear it often. Very heavy, masculine scent. On the masculine side of unisex. Nice, though. I'd love to smell this on a man.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue
blush223 9/1/2006 4:36:00 PM
OOH does this reek on me! Because of all the raves and Chandler Burr's review (that's twice he's gotten me to buy something that smells really off on me), I bought it without testing. Sounded wonderful. HOWEVER...on me I don't detect any clean freshness of apple or citrus, any unique, exquisite, ethereal blend of floral scents, none of it. From the moment I spritzed it on my wrist, it soured and smelled very, very sharp. It's a "needle through the head" fragrance on me. Must be a chemistry thing. Kind of reminds me, for some wierd reason, of heavy, fad scents like Giorgio or Angel. Different notes, but the same reaction and sharpness. I left it on to dry down and settle as long as I could, but it gave me such a headache, I had to scrub it off. It's still hanging around my sinuses, driving me nuts. I agree with the reviewer to said it was like a strong Comet or Ajax cleanser scent. Not trying to insult anyone who loves this. It's probably much different on those with the right chemistry for it. I'd just suggest trying it for a few hours before buying. It seems like one of those scents that will either be lovely on you or will be absolutely dreadful.

Fragrances -Fresh - Sake
blush223 8/31/2006 7:54:00 PM
Lovely on other women, but dries down to a very green scent on me. I don't catch the peach or spice notes when I wear it, just a grassy, sharp scent. Set my allergies off. But, I think it's just my chemistry. Nice scent, just not for me.
