Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
rated 3 of 5

Pros: Great portable size, lovely packaging, smooth formula, nice effort to be "green," interesting shades Cons: Oxidizes on me after a few hours, gets too oily, breaks me out (must be the talc). I would recommend this for people with dry, relatively clear, fair/rosy-based complexions who do not have sensitivities to talc. It is a dream to blend and a pleasure to wear if you don't suffer from oily skin. For everyone else looking for an easily-blendable drugstore foundation, I would recommend one of the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundations instead. Dream Matte in particular does not contain talc (contains bismuth oxychloride instead) and is very smooth and easy to blend.

Highlighters -Milani - Illuminating Face Powder
rated 5 of 5

Beauty's Touch (the pink/coral one) is a true satin highlighter/blush. I have to use a very dense brush (not a regular blush brush - a kabuki here) to get enough color BUT the result is a very refined, natural looking tint appropriate for work or play. I used to never wear blush and this is a nice compromise between no blush and too much. This is what I wanted Diorblush to be - a hint of color on my cheeks but nothing too distracting. It doesn't accentuate my pores or make me break out, and the embossing and different colors are wonderful. I love this one so much that I'm tempted to buy the others, even though I don't need any more peach/bronze colors.

Lotions/ Creams -Desert Essence - Fragrance Free Hand and Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
bluenote 4/25/2012 2:14:00 AM

After applying this lotion generously to my hands, they seem more prone to cuts and bruises (too soft?). I also hate that SD alcohol is one of the first five ingredients. But I love the natural, light honeysuckle fragrance and, tired of tender hands, I apply it to my hair as a leave-in conditioner and it works fantasticlly. No frizz, softer & shinier hair, and it's not heavy or sticky in the least. Trying to use up the whole tube before it goes bad can be a bit tricky. Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Crystal Duo - Charming

Lots of fallout, but if you love super glittery white/silvers and are not afraid of the fallout (a good example would be kitchsmas). you'll love this. to me, the white/silver is very much like the white side of Nars' pandora... it's a just very OTT, but there's a time and place for that, too. Just pack it on with a wet brush, clean up the fallout, and you have a glitter explosion on your eyelid.

Palettes -Smashbox - Glambox Vol 4
rated 3 of 5
bluenote 11/7/2010 6:09:00 PM

This was a nice intro to Smashbox, albeit a pricey one that didn't really live up to their standard product line. This set came with a set of cream eyeliners with a WONDERFUL angled eyeliner brush. The cream eyeliners were sparkly charcoal, blue, copper, and black. They were great but the pop-up lids weren't very secure, so they dried out quickly. The cheek palette in close-up looked SO pretty online, with shades of nude rose, candy pink, and a darkened rose... but the formula was supbar. The powder felt scratchy and it didn't apply very smoothly. The eyeshadow palette was also not up to Smashbox single standards, but came with six shades ranging from sparkling champagne and silver to smokey navy and charcoal - a very useful palette and the reason I bought it. The lipglosses were pretty - a nude pink and darker raspberry combo joined together somewhat like mark hookups. the formula is non-sticky and smells like vanilla. It was a fair value for the eyeliner brush, eyeshadow palette, and lipgloss (which I used) but honestly I would not buy another glambox after this. The quality was not what I expected. I would just save my money for some shadow singles or trios.

Cleansers -Borghese - Gentle Foaming Face Wash
rated 5 of 5
bluenote 11/7/2010 6:01:00 PM

This face wash comes with a revitalizing mask (which I haven't tried yet) in a set sold by Costco. First, this comes in a very pretty, functional squeeze tube. Second. the formula feels nice and rich (and smells a little like vanilla) and rinses off very cleanly. It gets rid of makeup well; basically it does what a good face wash should. My face feels pretty darn happy afterwards. I would definitely repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Tapestry Taupe
rated 4 of 5
bluenote 11/7/2010 5:55:00 PM

Cheap and beautiful. The sparkle reminds me of BB's shimmer shadows for a fraction of the price. I don't even need a primer to make the color shine through - though haven't tried out the wear time in extreme conditions. The shimmer makes my eyes itch after a full day though. :/

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Wet n Wild Eye Expressions Pop Art palette

I am so sad that this is discontinued. Although these didn't have fantastic lasting power, I loved the clear packaging (you could always see the colors easily) and the creamy formula.

Cleansers -St. Ives - Apricot Radiance Deep Cleaning Cream Cleanser - oily and acne-prone skin
rated 3 of 5
bluenote 4/13/2010 3:05:00 AM

I am blessed with decent skin and this makes me break out. I think it's actually a bit too rich for oily skin and the inclusion of so much stearic acid is a no-no for me. However, it does condition my eyebrows and it smells nice.

Wish it came in a more sanitary pump. Regardless, this cream is moisturizing, sinks in, seems to calm my skin. Perfect for nighttime, daytime, anytime my skin is looking dull.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel

This frosty pink is flirty and very girly. However, the frost formula can be pretty drying, so a good balm underneath is essential.

Lipstick -MAC - speed dial cremesheen
rated 3 of 5

This is nice and creamy and covers well but it's nothing to write home about. It's a flat blue-pink color. There are better MAC lippies out there.

If you like peachy corals, this is for you. So summer-appropriate. Sadly, this clashed with my olive skintone. Oh well.
