I am really loving this bronzer. I was previously using NYC's-Sunny as my go-to cheap, but great bronzer until I took a chance on this one. I got it at CVS for about $4...yes, $4!! You really can't beat a bronzer for under $5, especially one that works really well. For reference, I'm normally around an NC30 and this does not look "dirty" or orange on me. Since i've changed over to this bronzer, I've been getting a lot of compliments on my makeup. I'm already planning on heading back to buy more (even though I haven't even made a dent in the one I have now). The compact is HUGE and will definitely last you a while. I've had mine for a month now, use it about 5 days a week and all over my face and you can still see the raised sun design on it...i've got a long way to go before this puppy even has a hint of showing pan. Packaging is also very nice, much better than NYC's. Travels well, i've thrown it in my makeup bag and have had it in my purse and taken it to school. still in perfect condition and has not accidentally opened and gotten everywhere (not something i can say for a lot of my makeup items)
Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720

As everyone else has said, this bronzer is DIRT CHEAP! I picked it up cause I've only heard great things. Here are my pros and cons: pros: 1. CHEAP. I got mine for $2(something) at Target. You really can't beat getting a bronzer for under $3. 2. Matte (i really hate shimmery bronzers) 3. Sheer/light. Some might put this in the "cons" column, but for me, I like that it's a bit sheer because it lets me build to the shade that I want. I've always had trouble using other bronzers and end up looking I just swiped a streak of dirt on my face, so I do like the sheerness. It's very buildable, HOWEVER (leads to my cons)... cons: 1. (on my NC30 skin) There is a point where if i build too much it starts to look orange 2. Packaging is really cheap and mine doesn't actually close all the way (but for less than $3 what do you expect?) that's honestly it for cons. I'm still looking for a bronzer I might look a little more, but for the price, I will more than likely always have one of these on hand.
I just recently received the full size version of no. 27 in a swap and holy cow. i had previously bought and tried no.23 but it was too gray (even after oxidizing) and pink on my skin. The 27 was perfection. It blended in perfectly and I used less than a full pump for my entire face. The whole day (christmas day) my family was complimenting me on how nice my skin looked, especially in pictures...that means...NO WHITE CAST! Even with it's high spf, i didn't get that ghostly whiteness in the countless photos that were taken that day. It does dry fairly quickly so might be difficult to blend for others, but i managed ok. i used this over my clinique moisturizer and mufe HD primer and it lasted all day without getting cakey or looking streaky. Towards the end of the night (about 9-10hours later) i started to look a little dewy (i do have oily skin), but it was a nice dewy look. I'm already looking to purchase another bottle just to have it on hand. **Oh and I applied with my fingers. I just dotted where I needed the most coverage and used my fingers to blend outward from there. Worked great.
Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 1 Green

As a primer, this works really well. I wore it under my makeup today and after hours in a hot kitchen, by a stove and just running around on a crazy day (christmas with family) my makeup stayed in place. As far a color correcting...I really can't say that it helped any with my redness. I am always red right around my nose and mouth and honestly, I didn't see any difference. Not even a slight diminish/fade in redness. So for that aspect it didn't do what it's suppose to. Maybe I need to wait a bit to let it settle before seeing any difference? I was in a bit of rush putting myself together this morning. I'll try it again and will change the rating if that is the case. For me, this primer is okay. If it did help with my redness I'd move it to the top, otherwise I much prefer my Hourglass veil primer
Powder -Sephora - Mineral Double Compact Foundation SPF 10
blu3 12/25/2012 2:47:00 AM
I actually love this compact. I normally use it over my liquid foundation as a setting powder but will also dust a light cover over naked skin on days where I want a really light and natural look. For most makeup, I ALWAYS toss the sponge/puff/applicator. For this compact I have actually written to Sephora and ask that they start selling the sponge that comes with it. It's dual sided, one side gives light coverage, the other side is a heavier coverage. And they really do just that. I normally always have two at a time (one i keep at home and one i keep in my purse). If it also did anything for shine control or had some sort of mattifying properties, this would be it for me.
If I hadn't gotten this as a gift, I'd be returning it. It sheds like crazy. I've noticed all my MAC brushes shed a lot more than my other brushes, but this one even more so. Most likely from the buffing of applying my blush. When using it on my cheeks, I normally have 1 or 2 hairs on my face and will see another 1 or 2 start to come loose. When I wash the brush I'll also notice a few shed. I'm still on the search for a good buffer brush.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
blu3 12/25/2012 2:39:00 AM
This is the only brush I use when applying liquid foundations. It really does give an airbrush finish and makes applying quick and easy. My only gripe (not with just this brush, but all MAC brushes) is that it sheds like crazy. Not so much during application with this one since you're stippling, but when I wash my brush, I normally see 2-3 bristles fall out each time. I know it's not in the method that I clean my brushes as I have other brand brushes that I clean at the same time without seeing any loose bristles.
Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Mascara Waterproof

I use to swear by this mascara, but after a while I came to the realization...for the price you pay, it should do a lot more. For 1/10th the price, I get a drugstore mascara that pretty much does the same thing. Don't get me wrong, it definitely added some (not a whole lot) of length to my lashes and it did add some volume (again not a whole lot) without too much clumping. However, like most mascaras I have tried, it wouldn't hold a curl and it did start to smudge on me. For me, this mascara is just okay. It's definitely not terrible, but also nothing I feel is worth it's price tag.
For me, this mascara just clumped way too much. I really wanted to like it as the only thing i care about in mascara's in volume (length is just a bonus). It leaves little clumps on my lashes and clumps together my already sparse lashes so in the end i look like i have 4 lashes. When I go through with a lash comb to separate my lashes, I lose the product which diminishes the whole volumizing property.
I swear by seche vite when you want that nice gloss and somewhat of a gel look. If i have the slightest imperfection with my nail polish application, seche vite over will smooth everything out and leave it looking flawless. I actually keep a bottle in my purse. I'm the type to have nail polish chip off within a day or two (oily nail beds), but I have noticed that if i do TWO coats of seche vite (instead of a usual one), I can get my polish to last close to a week without a chip. This honestly will get any nail color to look like a gel (shellac) finish.
Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
blu3 12/25/2012 2:04:00 AM
I absolutely love this mascara, dare I say even more so than my DiorShow mascara. For me this actually holds a curl (a problem I have with many mascaras). My lashes are incredibly thin/sparse and stick straight, as for length, I think they're decent. I care most about volume and boy does this mascara give you volume without that disgusting spidery clumpy mess other mascara's give. I use this after applying a coat of CoverGirl's Lash Exact mascara and I swear it is pure perfection.
I love this mascara. It does exactly what it says it will do. Define each lash. If you want volume, if you want length, this is not your mascara. I love this because I use it in combination with another mascara. I will apply this first which separates my lashes. Then I will apply another mascara for volume and won't get that clumping that I ALWAYS get with volumizing mascaras. Sometimes I wear this on it's own just to define my lashes a little (on days where I want a very natural look). I have never noticed any smudging. It is indeed waterproof (pretty hard to take off). I have to soak a cotton pad with my eye makeup remover and just hold it on my eye to kind of melt away the mascara and take it off. that's how well it stays on! I've recommended this to several of my friends who either don't need volume or length...or like me, have clumping problems.

I got the mini set from Sephora for my birthday. To me, the smell is pretty appealing and is what makes me keep going back to it (to me, it smells like lemon bars). I have a tendency to get dry and flaky/chapped lips (and sometimes cracked), i throw this or the original one on and in a day or two, i have nice soft lips. I carry this with me in my purse and plan on buying another to keep at home. I wish they actually sold the mini size cause I swear its absolutely perfect for carrying around in your purse
Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15

I got the mini set from Sephora for my birthday. This one does give me a slight red/pink tint on my lips so a lot of times this is all I wear. To me, the smell is pretty appealing and is what makes me keep going back to it (to me, it smells like lemon bars). I have a tendency to get dry and flaky/chapped lips (and sometimes cracked), i throw this or the original one on and in a day or two, i have nice soft lips. will definitely repurchase but i want to try the other colors
I absolutely love this conditioner. 1.) it smells amazing 2.) i don't know if it helped magnify the color of my hair, but it definitely prevented it from turning brassy (a problem i have when i dye my hair red...and sometimes light brown) 3.) it does condition my hair. no knots/tangles, no greasiness. I plan on picking up another bottle even though the red has faded out of my hair.
