Cleansers -Nivea - Gentle Cleansing Cream
blooiejagwa 5/25/2013 8:31:00 AM
This was in newest reviews which reminded me: I have to rave about this! Takes off makeup like many cleansing creams, with a warm microfibre cloth. Takes about 2 goes to get thoroughly clean skin. Cost me about 5.99 canadian. Never broke me out. I have sensitive skin that is also dry. Never irritates my skin. I do a honey mask afterwards and that's it... Skin ready for moisturizer/serum. Gentle, effective, perfect. The 'exfoliating beads' do nothing to exfoliate, dunno what some of the reviews here are on about. They dissolve so quickly at a slight touch. I believe that they contain some kind of mild moisturizer.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Elta Melting Cream
blooiejagwa 5/25/2013 6:17:00 AM
I believe this is the same thing as Elta MD intense, which is highly recommended on the skincare forum here. First of all, Canadians, this is at Shoppers in the pharmacy section. They had to look it up in their computer system to locate it, it was not in the usual skincare section. Second, this would be a great product to put on top of your winter moisturizer, in case you were going skiing or snow shoveling, etc. I like it as a lip balm! I've been using this for about 2 weeks now, and found it broke me out badly if used on top of wet or damp skin. I got pretty painful pimples. I tried it with plain water, rosewater, and a facial mist. It felt greasy and disgusting too, though I use the smallest dab. That was for the first couple of days. Then I began using this to 'top up' my moisturiser. So: serum, facial mist, moisturizer, Elta melting cream. That has been working well (no breakouts). Still, I don't see enough of a difference to warrant adding this in my routine. I have dry skin, and have found this makes a mediocre hand, foot, or neck cream, but for the face, it is just so-so. It's not a necessity, I didn't find it to moisturize at all, facial oils do a better job, and have the added benefit of not clogging my pores. Three stars; may work for others, it may come in useful in future, I will keep it on hand, but will NOT use on a daily basis, as I have been so far.

Mascara -Guerlain - Le 2 de Guerlain
blooiejagwa 5/24/2013 11:50:00 AM
I really like the look that this mascara gives. It is very black. You don't need a curler with it as it has some kind of adhesive in the formula that apparently curls the lashes for you, just hold the brush in place for a few seconds. It gives a beautiful thick, full look, and is 2 mascaras in one. The bigger side smudges badly, you have to be quite wary and possible prop a piece of card to shield your lid from possible smudges. It does give a nice look, similar to Chanel Inimitable. The smaller side gives major clumping. Le2 won't last through tears, yet lasts reasonably well without flaking. I would give it 2-3 stars if it weren't for the nightmarish reaction I had to it! The reason for the one star is that this mascara burns, irritates, and hurts my eyes like nothing else. The first week I was fine. It was afterwards that it became awful! i mentioned this on the makeup board here and other forum members who have tried it said they had the same experience! . I persisted using this (had not realized my eye irritation was caused by it then) and then over the days my eyes got a major swelling with little red bumps and my left eye was swollen in the most awful way, disfigured, horrible, it is still recovering. It hurt to blink, took 3 days for the swelling to go down (i went almost a week not using any eye makeup to help it), today it is finally okay. I will try to return it, but if they don't take it back, into the trash can and never again! Have not had a reaction like this in my life and I have used loads of mascaras. It gives a nice look but honestly I have gotten the same look from several drugstore mascaras.

Eye Shadow -Pupa - Luminys Silk #401
blooiejagwa 5/21/2013 11:27:00 PM
I disagree with previous reviewer- this is a taupe with lots of sparkle, warm as compared to 400, but not brown. Wet or dry, works well, looks great as an accent or on its own, i love it. My fave way to wear it is with a black liner used in outer v and to line, as a base, and smudged out, then this eyeshadow patted on and blended at edges. Packaging looks nice buteasy to nick the productas it is puffed out rather than fully enclosed. Mine crumbled after i dropped it (while it was open) on the ground- my fault i suppose but i managed to salvage it as it shut close so the eyeshadow didn't get contaminated. Highly recommend.

Lip Liners -Essence - Lip Liner
blooiejagwa 5/19/2013 11:16:00 PM
I intend to buy backups of this. The only other lipliners that I have tried are Annabelle's, Rimmel's, Dior's, Chanel's... From all those this is my fave. Creamy, smooth, honey bun makes a beautiful neutral look, pigmented, fades better than even my Dior ones (cuz they look waxy and uneven as they wear off whereas this seems softer and a more natural, less drying texture). V good no need to get expensive ones when Annabelle's and Essence's are so fab n with a big range of colours b/w them.

Tinted Moisturizer -LUSH - Colour Supplement
blooiejagwa 5/11/2013 3:29:00 PM
This is amazing!! This with my dior powder gives perfect non-fake soft, smooth looking skin. The perfect replacement for my $$$$$$ Omorovicza tinted moisturizer which admittedly clogs my pores and looks patchy on skin-in addition to having zero coverage unless u build it up. . This feels awesome on my dry/combo skin, and i got a perfect colour match- best i've ever had for any kind of base makeup. I am dark yellow in this and it is such an exact match. I really like this, doesn't look fake at all, love it to bits. Obviously it will never be able to compete with very extravagantly priced foundations with the best technology incorporated into them, nanoparticles and microscopic light reflective powders, etc-- but i prefer this to my other foundations right now, with a powder on top. I use vichy dermablend corrective foundation t conceal in some areas.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Lady Gaga - Fame

No offense to 'fans' slash worshippers, but everything Lady Gaga is pathetic, contrived with no substance, and lame, including this fragrance. Monotonous fruity waste of money.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Rosewater
blooiejagwa 4/15/2013 6:24:00 AM
A use for rosewater that hasn't been mentioned here: eye drops. There is a v good quality brand my mom uncle and other ppl in my fam use based on doctor's recommendation- i think arq e gulab by marhaba? Anyway i use it all the time- it stings for a second but it cools and refreshes my eyes v well esp in hotter countries. Also v good as toner. I find it better than the much pricier facial mists and toners that I have tried . Helps moisturizer but on its own too it really soothes and it seems to help retain moisture. i agree with the reviewer who says using this, she woke up to happy glowing skin- same case with me. I wasn't expecting anything either.. As soon as I get a spray bottle I plan to put a lot of it into it as a body mist for summer

Eye Shadow -Lise Watier - Lise Watier Quatuor Eyeshadow Quartet "Les Cuivres"
blooiejagwa 4/3/2013 4:22:00 PM
Very expensive for what it is, but since I have been using it almost every other day, And the thought of misplacing it makes me break into a cold sweat and hyperventilate, I would probably repurchase. The quality of these e/s is so-so-- by that I mean they all seem to blend together into one basic colour-- also there is fallout with the darkest shade--but they really do look so sexy on my brown eyes, sultry and not overdone... I just love them! Esp with Lise Watier's eyeliner in Cognac used as a base or to line the lower lash line... Or MAC teddy or Guerlain loose kohl in waterline for night. Caveat: you need a good base or primer-- you need to be very careful in your placement because the yummy gold shade easily blends into the others, and gets lost amongst the darker 2, so use a wet brush if you want it to show up properly... I like makeup that's not overdone, but it's hard for me to achieve--this quad makes it very quick and easy.

Lipstick -Elizabeth Arden - Color Intrigu Effects Lipstick - 22 Bronze Berry Pearl
blooiejagwa 3/23/2013 6:16:00 PM
Omg. I knew I loced the formula of the Colour Intrigue lipsticks, moreso than any other lipstick I've used. But this colour is amazing. It's got bronze/rose/MLbB hue with the perfect gleam of shimmer that does not read as frost at all. Super flattering. The formula is perfect, the colour is elegant, perfect.

Skincare - Face -Vichy - Thermal Water
blooiejagwa 3/23/2013 5:27:00 AM
It makes my skin kinda irritated/feel hot if I put on any moisturizer, even a simple oil, on top to seal it in. Like, every time. Like I've put a warm compress on, and my skin also itches. My cheeks especially itch. Even if I don't use any skincare on top, my skin does feel irritated for a couple of minutes, but then I'm guessing it evaporates or something? No repurchase because my skin ALWAYS feels a irritated when I use this. Also, apparently my tap water is connected to purified spring water, like most people in my (rural-ish) area, and it supposedly contains lots of minerals! So I'll just use plain water lol

Foundations -Vichy - Dermablend Corrective Foundation
blooiejagwa 3/20/2013 8:25:00 AM
Edit- still loving this. My foundations from make up for ever, dior, l'oreal, bobbi brown, bourjois, have all taken a back seat to this. it is the best. EDIT: tried this with tinted moisturizer and a drop of high beam all over face. looked awesome and natural, great coverage still. . AMAZING! It has a kind of dewy/illuminated finish that i can't describe, if i use it alone. This covered up a scar that NOTHING else was, not my other concealers/correctors/foundations in various combos. AMAZING. And it's not cakey, just perfect. I love this. You just need a smidgen, much more economical than drugstore foundations/concealers that one goes through very quickly due to having to build em up. HIGHLY recommend. I mix this with my No 7 Beauty balm to make it more illuminating for the rest of my face, and to dilute it. To be honest I preferred it just as a concealer You can use this in these ways, or in combo with a foundation you already like, as a concealer. One thing, my primer makes this hard to use. Just on plain, well-moisturized skin is better.

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Veet Ready to Use Wax Strips for Face and Bikini

I'm an idiot. These give me scars every time, and on my mom too, I guess we have sensitive skin, but I often forget and use these nevertheless. Sporting a ridiculous facial burn right now thanks to these pathetic things. And yes, i follow the instructions to the letter.

Blush -Lise Watier - Pink Power Blush
blooiejagwa 3/14/2013 12:43:00 PM
I am actually buying a backup of this today. It's that good, and i'm not a blush person. It looks really natural, the sparkles on the pale flowers come off to reveal a fine shimmer highlight underneath, and when you swirl it together, it lends this pretty healthy glow that is lovely. i love the packaging, of course. I love EVERYTHING by Lise Watier that I own. Love this brand to pieces.

I have this in Fauve and it's a beautiful shimmery lavender taupe. It is so beautiful. As usual, Lise Watier makes the best eye pencils in the history of ever. Another smashing hit :)
