Styling Products -TRESemme - 24 hour body finishing spray
blondetoadie 1/22/2012 2:02:00 AM
Great hairspray! This doesn't weigh down my fine hair and sprays in an even mist. It doesn't build up or get tacky. I find the scent pleasant and it holds my hair in place. I also use it as a root booster on 90% dry hair when I am blow drying it and the volume it gives my hair is fantastic! Love this product!

Powder -Stila - Illuminating Powder Foundation
blondetoadie 1/4/2012 11:11:00 PM
I wanted to love this based on the great reviews I have read but it just didn't work for me. The color made me look a bit jaundiced and a little washed out. I ended up getting 30 watts because ten and twenty were just too light for my liking. The finish was also a little weird, it pooled up in my laugh lines around my mouth, which are only there with this powder :/ and accentuated my pores. It wasn't terrible, but not what I wanted when I purchased this powder. I also don't like how you have to buy the compact and powder separately. I bought the powder first and waited to buy the compact until I knew I loved the makeup. back to Sephora it went.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Grace Eyeshadow
blondetoadie 1/4/2012 11:05:00 PM
This is a beautiful shade of shimmery taupe with a hint of light mauve undertones. I wear this when I am not in the mood to make myself completely up. It is a very pretty eyeshadow to compliment an (almost) bare face. Not too light and not too dark, this is also beautiful when layered over a darker brown eyeshadow for a softer smokey eye. Love it!

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
blondetoadie 1/4/2012 2:58:00 PM
I bought this in Victorian. The color, when applied with a light hand is beautiful! The staying power....not as impressive. It rubs off just as easily as a lipstick but seems to stay in my lip creases. It's not noticeable and it kind of looks like I just ate a sucker. Which isn't a bad look but for a product claiming to be a lip stain, it is a little misleading. It also seems to dry my lips out incredibly! Even with the balm on top, when it wears off, I find myself with really rough and dry lips just inside my lip line where I tend to apply it more liberally. I love the applicator, It makes lining the lips with a separate liner unnecessary. But I won't continue to use this because of the dryness.

Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version
blondetoadie 1/4/2012 2:52:00 PM
I purchased this in Sand beige which is the second lightest color. The lightest color was a bit too light and too pink for me. Sand beige seems to have more neutral undertones. I mix equal parts of this and my Makeup For Ever HD microperfecting primer in pink and apply it to me face with my fingers. I then use a damp makeup sponge and press the product into my skin. This leaves my skin looking FLAWLESS! My pores disappear, it covers up any redness I may have, and it dries to a semi matte, airbrushed finish. I then use my EL DW concealer in extra light (HG concealer!) I LIGHTLY dust Mac's prep and prime transparent finishing powder just under my eyes and end with a light dusting of benefit's Hello Flawless in neutral champagne to set the foundation. I prob don't need the powder but it lightens the color just a titch. This is my latest face routine and I absolutely love this foundation. The color is an exact match to EL DW light intensity 2 and the finish and lasting power seem to be similar as well. Overall, this is a fantastic foundation!

Concealers -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer
blondetoadie 1/2/2012 8:57:00 PM
Love Love Love this concealer! I am so excited they brought back the extra light shade. They discontinued the extra light shade about 7 years ago and the light shade was just to dark for under my eyes. I was on the Nordstrom website the other day and saw extra light as a shade available for purchase. After gaining my composure, I went to the Estee Lauder counter at Macy's. They were out. I then went to Dillards and picked up the last tube for sale. It's only twenty two bucks and lasts forever! This concealer is so fantastic! It has an SPF of 10 with titanium dioxide as the sunscreen ingredient. The consistency is so light and creamy. There is a slight yellow undertone which works for me even though my skin has pink undertones. It really counteracts the bluish/purple circles I inherited from my pops. The coverage is outstanding and this concealer really goes the distance. Never a crease is found under my eyes and it dries to a perfectly semi matte finish. I can't rave enough about this concealer or the shade. This is once again my HG concealer. Please Estee Lauder, don't break my heart again by discontinuing this gem.

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 7 Pink
blondetoadie 10/17/2011 11:01:00 PM
I love this primer! I am not a fan of primer in the first place, I see it as just another step that sucks up precious time in my makeup routine. However, while I was in Sephora, the pretty bottle and the claim that it brightens the complexion, suckered me in. When I applied this five minutes after my moisturizer with SPF (Cerave...which is my HG A.M. moisturizer) I immediately fell in love with how it felt on my skin. It had more of a lotion-y feel to it as opposed to a silicone-y feel. It absorbed immediately. There was no slimy film left on my face. In fact, it made my face perfectly matte but the moisturizing properties of this primer didn't dry up my face. It was supple yet matte. I couldn't see a pore and the slight pink tone did seem to make me look better. The pink isn't too rosy though, it seems to blend with my fair skin very well. My Colorstay foundation was applied and quickly set to a beautiful demi-matte finish. I use concealer under my eyes and this primer seemed to leave my eyes underneath the perfect concealer canvas. I set my concealer with the lightest touch of MAC's prep and prime transparent finishing powder and I set my face with a loose dusting of Covergirl's Simply Powder in Classic Ivory (I use a kabuki brush, not the sponge that comes with the foundation) My makeup lasts ALL day. I don't get oily, my makeup doesn't rub off. Most importantly, my concealer doesn't migrate and settle into fine lines. I feel as though my face looks brighter, although many people haven't seen a brightening effect. I'm wondering if they are confusing brightening with glitter. This primer has zero glitter, glimmer, sparkle, shine whatsoever. And I couldn't be happier about that. It brightens the complexion by counteracting sallow tones, not by giving an artificial disco ball sheen to your face. Overall, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this primer. I will never buy another primer. Period

Powder -Cover Girl - Simply Powder Foundation
blondetoadie 2/4/2011 5:07:00 PM
I use this in Classic Ivory for my NC20 skin tone. It couldn't be more perfect for me. It covers like a dream. The color is brilliant, not orange or yellow, but a very neutral color with just a hint of pink undertone. I NEVER get greasy when using this powder. I apply it with the sponge that is provided in the compact and press it over my face then buff it with a kabuki brush. Sometimes I wear it alone but most of the time I wear it over my Colorstay foundation for dry skin. It is flawless and mistake proof every time. The finish lasts all day. I wore this when i was giving birth to my second baby and I look fantastic in all my pictures :) I agree with a previous reviewer that I would like to have the sponge in a different compartment other than with the powder, but oh well. I highly recommend this powder.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Untitled Paint
blondetoadie 2/4/2011 4:59:00 PM
LOVE IT! I'm on my second tube of this and I can't remember when I bought it, it has been that long ago. This stuff lasts forever and is the best eye shadow base that does more than just prime. It is so beautiful by itself but far too pale for my liking. Paired with a darker shadow, it never creases, gets oily or dries out my eyes. LOVE IT!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Stilife Paint
blondetoadie 2/3/2011 12:05:00 PM
Best eyeshadow primer ever!!! I use this as a base before applying my smoky eye shadow and it is FLAWLESS. The shimmery champagne color is beautiful by itself but I personally like darker eyes. When using a darker brown on my lids, the color seems to be amplified and a subtle shimmer peeks through underneath. I have used this color for years and I don't plan on stopping.

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - Recreate Primer
blondetoadie 2/3/2011 1:06:00 AM
I am really loving this primer. I wasn't sold on the idea of a primer before buying this. However, Recreate doesn't give me that disgusting film that so many primers I have tried seem to love to do. (i.e. Smashbox. Yuck!) It really brightens up my complexion. It is moisturizing but not greasy. I don't get greasy throughout the day when I use this. It also helps my under eye concealer to apply easier and stay put longer. I love Tarte!

Mascara -L'Oreal - HIP High Drama Volumizing Mascara
blondetoadie 1/26/2011 5:32:00 PM
I'm not a fan of natural looking eye lashes. This mascara truly makes your lashes stand out and appear.....well....fake. But in a good way. It thickens like no other and the rich pigmented black is so dramatic and eye catching. I'll be pretty pissed if a previous poster was right and it turns out L'oreal discontinued this mascara. That always happens to me, I find a fabulous product and the company takes it away from me. >:(

Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
blondetoadie 1/26/2011 5:26:00 PM
I used to use this years ago and for some reason I quit. I am always on the lookout for the latest and greatest skin care product. After a HORRIBLE experience with Peter Thomas Roth retinol fusion, I decided I would go back to this to try and rectify the wrong that PTR did to me. I don't understand why I ever stopped using this product. Probably because I didn't think an inexpensive drugstore product could work better than the expensive brands. I couldn't have been more wrong. This has already started to clear up my skin ( thanks for the breakouts PTR ) and has added a glow to my parched complexion. ( thanks again PTR ) I use this under my Clinique Dramatically different moisturizing lotion and the results really are fantastic.
