Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
blissta 6/28/2012 11:02:00 PM
I love this liner! Applies absolute black, no grey sheen. Doesn't stay on my lid so much, but that's only because I tend to rub my eyes. The amount you get lasts forever! I've had mine for 1+ years and even put some into a compact and it still hasn't dried out. Don't bother with the brush it comes with; I apply it with a flat liner brush or a bent liner brush. I wouldn't recommend this for the waterline if you wear contacts; this smudges allover my lens for mine, so I'll see foggy all day (annoying).

Eyeliner -Milani - Liquif'eye Metallic eye liner pencil -black
blissta 6/28/2012 10:54:00 PM
Nice, true-black, non-shimmery but with a sheen. It stays and stays, but when I apply it to my top lid too thickly, it smudges onto my lower lid. When I apply this to my waterline when I wear contacts, this doesn't fare well for me; it smudges onto my contacts. I do like how it applies very softly/creamy (no tugging!). My favorite way to apply it is to rub a flat liner brush on the tip and onto my lashline. It lasts all day.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Milk & Honey Body Lotion

I'm guessing I had the one bad bottle? I found this thin and runny, and smelling like cherry cough syrup. My skin neither itch nor burned, but I couldn't stand the smell.

This stuff just burns my eczematous skin. Avoid using this on abraded skin as much as possible!

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Oatmeal and Shea butter
blissta 4/19/2011 1:35:00 AM
I like this lotion; it goes perfectly with my Dial Yogurt Vanilla Honey body wash. The smell is a more sophisticated, grown-up Vanilla (not plastic-y and juvenile like Play-Doh). The texture is light and non-greasey, though it requires re-application for my desperately parched skin,, which I don't mind, because I love the smell and the texture feels good. Price is cheap, and readily available at any drugstore. I dropped the bottle, so unfortunate for me, the pump is missing the top.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme
blissta 4/19/2011 12:49:00 AM
I LOVE this stuff! The smell is so subtle yet fresh and clean. The texture is the BEST! It is fluffy/airy and light (true to name, like applying cream!); it feels so good to rub in. Dirt cheap, but because I like to apply it, and I have severely dry skin, I run out within a month. Most of all, it does NOT burn my abraded skin, and my skin feels soft after application. I wish they had a perfect vanilla-scented version! (The Shea Cashmere body cream from Bath and Body Works feels similar, but it's so expensive for my student budget!) I can never get tired of this lotion.

Lotions/ Creams -Cerave - Moisturizing Cream
blissta 4/19/2011 12:43:00 AM
Expensive for a drugstore product, although it comes with more product than I want to use. It's runny and thin in texture, yet it feels greasy and takes awhile to absorb. (I prefer the CeraVe lotion, it absorbs much better!) It doesn't itch after application, nor does it burn when applied over cuts. The smell is barely detectable. I don't like how it feels on my skin.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme
blissta 4/19/2011 12:36:00 AM
I love this stuff! It doesn't irritate, burn on cuts/abrasions, or smell fishy (like another certain Nivea lotion). It is sticky, a little greasy (but not as greasy as vaseline/Aquaphor). It smells like typical lotion, fresh and clean. A little goes a long way, so the small tub lasts me atleast a couple of months. My skin feels soft an hour after application. Effective, cheap and non-irritating.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Body Butter Shea
blissta 4/19/2011 12:30:00 AM
I love the smell of this product--it's sweet, with a hint of floral. I also love the thick, lightly-greasy-yet-easily-absorbed texture (my skin doesn't feel the slightest bit moisturized), as well, but I can't use it, because my skin itches within a couple of minutes of application :(

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning lotion
blissta 4/19/2011 12:28:00 AM
Smells plastic-y, my skin itches after application, and if I have the slightest, smallest cut, my skin would sting. Dirt cheap for a large amount, but for my sensitive, extremely dry skin, not worth it.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
blissta 4/19/2011 12:24:00 AM
This smells like straight-up instant hot cocoa! It didn't really do anything for my scars, and I don't have any stretch marks, so I couldn't fix it. It was easily-absorbed, and it didn't get my skin to itch. I wouldn't describe it as moisturizing (it didn't soften my skin). My problem with it was, the smell is so strong. I can't imagine how pregnant women with their sensitive sense of smell deal! I'm not even pregnant, and I find it intoxicating. The price is so cheap, but it's a small amount.

I like the smell, but it's a bit plastic-y. The texture is light and quickly-absorbed. Unfortunately, my skin itches :(

Brows -Maybelline - Ultra Brow Brush On Color
blissta 11/25/2009 11:09:00 PM
This product wasn't bad, as it did last long. My complaint is, "Dark Brown" has a bit of a red base, which does not work for my sparse, grey-looking brows. I would re-purchase this if the dark brown did not have any red undertones.

Bronzers -NARS - Orgasm-Laguna Blush-Bronzer Duo
blissta 3/22/2009 4:53:00 PM
OMG, I LOVE this product! I tried it (see one of my profile pictures), wearing just concealer and that product alone (no foundation) and I'm amazed! I saw the abundance of shimmer in both the blush (Orgasm) and the bronzer (Laguna) in the compact, which scared me, but the MA at Sephora applied it in a way that both warmed winter-dull my skin tone (I have medium-dark, MAC NC43/BE Medium Tan skin, though it looks like it can flatter a wide range of skin tones), and made my skin look smooth. My only caveat is that, for five minutes upon application, my skin felt itchy. The itch disappeared within the half-hour mark. I dislike the price, as it is not friendly with my student budget, but for the amount of product you get, it may be worth it. I have the E.L.F. Studio version, which also initially scared me for its glitter in the compact, but the application and color is just about the exact same, minus the itchies.

Concealers -Jane Iredale - Active Light Under Eye Concealer
blissta 3/2/2009 2:13:00 AM
I like how this product is thin, so as to not settle severely into fine lines, and I love the lip-gloss packaging (bacteria can be in the brush, but can't enter into the rest of the color). It didn't irritate my sensitive skin, nor did it dry it out either. I do not like how this product isn't thick enough to cover my under-eye circles, and, however light the formula, still manages to settle into my fine lines! I had shade #5, which is waaaay too light for me, while shade #6 was too orange. Also, within two months in my makeup bag, the cap will clip on, but it won't stay on! I'd like to atleast appreciate packaging, and I couldn't even do that. I desperately tried to make this product work (primer, applying foundation first, mixing my foundation, setting it with mineral powder, setting it with translucent powder), but I couldn't get my $25 worth. If you're looking for a less-expensive version of YSL's Touche Eclat, this is NOT the one! Save your money, this thing is useless!
