Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Steamcream
bleuciel 5/17/2013 10:33:00 AM
It's a lightweight lavender scented cream, that is suited for normal skin during winter time. IMO, for any other types of skin it simply is too heavy or not moisturizing enough. I have combination skin: dry to very dry cheeks and oily t-zone and this cream does nothing for any zone. It does not moisturize enough the dry patches on my cheeks and my t-zone is oily within hours. I've also applied it to my dry elbows and it did nothing. So I'm not sure what the deal is... What it is supposed to be for. I find it very expensive for its properties. Just because it's 'natural' does not justify the price as you could very easily smear some coconut or shea butter and have the same effect for a third of the price. Moreover, it has a 6-mo validity after opening the tin and because it comes in a larger quantity than usual (75 grams), it takes forever to finish. I'm currently working on it since February and I still have a lot to go!

Fragrances -Yves Rocher - So Elixir Purple
bleuciel 12/29/2012 9:52:00 PM
What a very nice scent Yves Rocher have come up with! Originally bought it on a whim because of a major sale Yves Rocher was having a few weeks ago. I have more than enough perfumes, but I just couldn't resist a good bargain. I had tested it beforehand with a 5 ml mini bottle received as gift with purchase so I was able to tell accurately whether I liked the fragrance or not. And I do. It's more sophisticated than their other fragrances, warm and floral. It reminds me a bit of Miss Dior Cherie (probably because of the patchouli). It has an expensive vibe around it and makes me feel more elegant when wearing it. Sillage: arm-length Longevity: 4-5 hours, maybe more.

Treatments -Yves Rocher - elixir 7.9 youth intensifier
bleuciel 12/29/2012 9:31:00 PM
I'm not sure what this product is supposed to do. What does 'youth intensifier' mean exactly and how does it work? On the blurb it says to apply daily underneath your usual moisturizer to help the skin benefit more from the moisturizer's ingredients. But we're never told how this is achieved. I received it as a gift with purchase and seeing how it's marketed and the normal price it goes for, I was more than curious. The packaging is foolproof, dark thick glass with a pump dispenser. Very hygienic and it helps you use just the right amount. The consistency is rather runny, watery-like, it glides easily on the skin and it is easily absorbed. The skin feels hydrated and refreshed right after, but in the morning my oily bits are still oily and my dry bits are still rather dehydrated. I use it whenever I can't be bothered to use my personal oil mix as this applies so easily, but really it doesn't do anything. Do not spend 20+ euros on it, it's really not worth it. I think it's more of a manufacturer gimmick than a real helpful product.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Kate Moss 05
bleuciel 12/29/2012 9:16:00 PM
Such a good lipstick. I love it, it's my favorite at the moment. I have it in 05, which is a satiny long-lasting pink creme, but also in 22 (red), 10 (darker red) and 09 (plum vampy red). Will re-purchase some other shades as well. They stay put, do not dry the lips and give such a beautiful and modern finish. The colour selection is great too. And the price is adequate. Rimmel did a great job with these lipsticks.

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
bleuciel 12/29/2012 9:09:00 PM
It's an average powder, more suited for setting foundation than for keeping sebum at bay. It's not cakey and if applied correctly, does not give a powdery look. However, in my case, I use pressed powder to keep my oily T-zone under control and it fails at this task. I have to re-apply every few hours. A HUGE MINUS is for the absolute crappy packaging. No sponge, the lid does not screw, no mirror, what is this???? How am I supposed to use this? Only at home and keep it safely tucked in my makeup bag??? This is preposterous, it's not that cheap in Europe. At 6-7 euros I'd say this is a medium-priced drugstore powder. Will not re-purchase and will stick to L'Oreal (though it too has some crappy packaging) or Bourjois.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
bleuciel 11/29/2012 6:26:00 AM
Wow, so many reviews! I got this blindly based on the many terrific reviews here and fragrantica. I can see the appeal, and I like it very much, but I do think it's a bit over-hyped. It smells VERY SWEET, I can see where the burnt note criticisms come from (to me it's not offensive though). Pretty linear. Sugar and nothing else. If you spray a little, just to keep it close to the skin and wear it in the cold season, it can become very comfy and warm. I was very ecstatic when I started wearing it about two months ago, but slowly I've come to realize that it's really just a simple non-sophisticated fragrance. Nowadays, I love to wear it at home, after I had a long hot bath and put on my favourite milk&honey body lotion. It enhances that sweetness. It's not appropriate for special occasions though or elegant/classy events or in the summer (you'd die of so much sweetness). And the price is way TOO HIGH for the smell, come on!

Gels/Soaps -Yves Rocher - Jardins Du Monde - All Shower Gels
bleuciel 11/29/2012 5:45:00 AM
They're really great. The only shower gels on the market that don't dry out my skin (in this price range). I buy 'in bulk' once a month or so for my mom and I and have been doing that for years. I've had all scents available, and while some smell better than others, the overall impression is very good. My mother would not use any other shower gel. She hates them all, except these ones. I think they're the same as Plaisir Nature range, only the smells are not so 'sophisticated'. But the cleansing part is identical. The packaging is annoying, but I've come not to notice it anymore. Just don't press the lid all the way down or you'll break a nail trying to open it :D

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - With Love by Hilary Duff
bleuciel 10/5/2012 3:36:00 AM
This is a spicy-woody scent, quite masculine. In the bottle also smells sweet, faintly of coconut. Unfortunately, when applied it loses that feminine come and hug me sweetness and the spices take over becoming even more masculine. I don't find it to be that long-lasting (which is a good thing in this case). The bottle looks nice, don't like the cap though, it's cheap plastic. I don't like it. My favourite fragrances are 'Fantasy' (Britney Spears), Lancome's Poeme and Burberry. All fruity-floral, warm and feminine.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Fantasy Twist EDP by Britney Spears
bleuciel 10/5/2012 3:30:00 AM
Great concept, would be very interested if Britney came up with a 'twist' for some of her other best-selling fragrances. I had the pink Fantasy, loved it!!! and wanted to try another of her perfumes. This fit the bill exactly. Unfortunately, I hate Midnight Fantasy, it's fruity bubblegum and nothing else. I had to scrub it off!!!! The bottle is so original and cute. Very nice.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears
bleuciel 10/5/2012 3:25:00 AM
This smells like fruity bubblegum. I can't smell any distinct fruits nor flowers, just something fruity aromatic. Linear, smells the same from beginning to end. Fruity and nothing else. A bit sour. Very much like a car refreshner. I don't get all the rave reviews. The original Fantasy (pink) is so much better made, at least it smells of perfume not air refreshner! Got it as part of the new Fantasy Twist, thank God I got the 2x25ml bottle! I wanted to try one of the Radiances or even both if I liked Midnight Fantasy, but now I'm not so sure... This is yet another blind buy that did not work out for me.

Eye Shadow -Sleek - i-Divine Palette - Oh So Special
bleuciel 9/24/2012 6:28:00 AM
This is my go-to palette. The colours are so pretty and suitable for everyday use. The range of pinks, neutrals and darks compliment my brown eyes and the possibilities of mixing for day/night, casual/elegant are large. I like the texture, how they're not uber creamy (less fall out), but go on smoothly on the lids. I use a primer (cheap ELF) and set it with powder and the eye shadow stays put all day. More than 10 hours, no fading. Very impressed.

Lipstick -Sleek - True colour lipstick
bleuciel 9/24/2012 6:24:00 AM
These are my favourite lipsticks on the market. I only have shades in sheen, I think the matte ones wouldn't look so great. But even the sheen ones are semi-matte, which I love. The colour pay-off is amazing and the colour stays put. It's so rich and vibrating - my favourite of them all is 'Candy Cane'. I also have 'Coral reef', which I gave to my mom as it's a bit too orange for my skin tone and have recently purchased 'Barely there'. I love the formulation, if you pat your lips before eating, you remain with a lip stain throughout the day. Would definitely re-purchase, I'm thinking another vibrant colour like 'cherry' or 'vixen' for autumn.

Blush -Sleek - blush - Rose Gold
bleuciel 9/24/2012 6:18:00 AM
Please use the tiniest amount as the colour pay-off is amazing!!!! It's a bit too shimmery for my taste, I would have preferred it to be more rose than gold, but it's pretty nonetheless. It's great during summer. It's 8 grams of product, you only need a little bit, so the product will probably last me a life time. I'd be willing to try the matte colours, I heard good things about them.

Lips -Sleek - Pout Paint - ALL
bleuciel 9/24/2012 6:14:00 AM
I have this in 'Pin Up'. To me it was quite drying. I applied it to clean lips, but it kept drying them during the day. It does not budge when applied, but if I apply lip balm to try and calm the dryness, then it starts transferring. My fingers were a mess! It needs a brush to be applied, so it cannot be carried and applied everywhere - a major minus. Plus I don't think 6 pounds is that cheap, really it's just a lip product! Will not re-purchase.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - jessica simpson FANCY LOVE 2009
bleuciel 9/24/2012 5:46:00 AM
I bought this as a blind buy because of all the rave reviews I read online and how everyone said it smells just like Burberry Classic, one of my all time favourite perfumes. It was cheaper than Burberry and I got the largest bottle. Unfortunately, to my nose, the scent is not that similar. They are somewhat alike, but I wouldn't call them dupes of each other. This one smells more artificial, sweeter and more cloying than Burberry. It smells cheaper. Sometimes it gives me a headache, even if it's not that strong. I've got plenty of compliments for it, the combination of sweet florals is appealing, but to my nose it's just so... average. I will no re-purchase as long as Burberry Classic is still in the making.
