Fragrances -Creed - Bois du Portugal

Amazingly upscale and formal. This one reeks of upscale "power." It does not stink at all, is not cloying and is so much LESS harsh than the reviews around this site. I expected an offensive "power" odor. Frankly, I don't see how anyone could not like this fragrance. It smells old-school, with a hint of modern day spice. It really is among the top fragrances I've ever smelled. It would be appropriate to wear to a movie, work, a restaurant. It's a mature cologne.. that's not to say people who dislike it are immature.. I am simply saying this fragrance is an upscale fragrance which seems "mature." I have smelled it before but not with so much cedar. The fragrance dries down to a cedar incense, with a small hint of pine and honey (I might be nuts). It's sweet, sexy, and upscale, business-like all at the same time.

Fragrances -Santa Maria Novella - Acqua di Cuba

This is more contemporary than I would have ever thought. I thought it was going to be overbearing pipe, leather, and tobacco. Instead it's a hint of leather, with sweet honey, but not at all cloying. It's very subtle and "gentlemanly." You can wear this for an evening event, or to work. I would not call this "sexy" at all, but rather "formal" or "elegant." It's certainly masculine, but not overbearing in the least. It's a very wearable, safe cologne and I have smelled this before in other scents. I would not consider this scent too unique, like Pot Pourri or SMN's Musk.. but it's still outstanding, high in quality, and changes throughout the day. Smells a bit like Guerlain's Vetiver, but with more tobacco and sweet spice. Very nice fragrance, but I was hoping for a more "masculine" smell.. it's appealing, but not as leathery as Peau de Espana.. (thankfully).

Fragrances -Santa Maria Novella - Potpourri
blah114 7/3/2007 1:01:00 PM
This does not appeal to everyone, but you must give this scent TIME. It changes throughout the day and becomes less like potpourri and more like incense mixed with some spice. It really is like stepping back in time. I have had numerous compliments while wearing this fragrance. At first it does not smell like anything except potpourii. You must let it dry down before judging this. This fragrance is timeless and I can FEEL the history when wearing this.. it's quite upscale, well-made, and really does in fact change, like a fine wine, throughout the day. Again, numerous people have complimented this fragrance, so it's not just me that likes it. It's overpriced a bit, but a small amount goes a long way. This fragrance is enchanting, even "haunting," because I can sense the history of others that have worn this.. meaning it's simply GREAT to wear something that has been around for so many, many years, two centuries ago! It smells, to me, "European..." Charming and elegant, yet a bit contemporary. Not everyone will appreciate wearing this, but I've yet to encounter someone who has not liked it on me.. including myself!

Fragrance -Yves Saint Laurent - Live Jazz

Not too unique, but this can be worn anywhere, anytime.. Smells, to me, like mustard and spice mixed with tangerines, oranges, and mint. The mint is pleasant especially during summer. It smells VERY synthetic instead of spicy.. it smells sort of cheaply made, of chemicals, but is still pleasant. I have smelled this scent and similar scents many, many times on others, which tells me it's not too unique or is worn by many people.

This is not for everyone. I simply do not at all like this scent. It stinks to me and lasts forever. Others love it, but it's not at all refined. It smells like nothing else I've ever smelled. It is VERY sweet and cloying, gives me headaches whenever I wear (wore) it. It smells so unique that I am having problems describing it. I would imagine it's meant for sex or intimacy. It smells like "love lotion" ala very very sweet, like spicy berries, but then has a hint of spice in it. I do not like this scent at all, but to each his/her own. I can only review this scent based on my opinions.

Fragrance -Thierry Mugler - Angel for Men
blah114 1/10/2006 8:20:00 AM
One of THE most unique men's scents ever. I cannot believe its originality, although I understand similar scents are out there.. they smell more like coffee than chocolate. This fragrance smells smoky, of Belgian dark chocolate, cocoa, and caramel.. but it's not sickenly sweet. Every female that has smelled this says she's never smelled anything like it. Every female I know that has smelled it wants to CONTINUE smelling it. With this scent, you can use small amounts: it lasts forever, and is VERY strong. I would say anything more than 2 sprays is unnecessary. It's upscale, casual, sophisticated. You could wear this to work, dinner, or on a date. It's among the best I've encountered thus far, and not everyone wears it (despite all the reviews).

I like this cologne.. it's green in color, and smells of lime to me. It's classy, classic, and well-done. I don't think anyone would DISlike this scent.

Fragrances -Santa Maria Novella - Vaniglia
blah114 12/27/2005 4:24:00 PM
This fragrance is feminine. It's straight-up vanilla, the way vanilla REALLY smells. It's got a hint of spice in it as well, so it's not EXACTLY like cooking vanilla. The fragrance is very high-quality, just like the other SMN fragrances. If SMN stooped as low as rolling out a "sweet" vanilla in its scent, the fragrance would be too cloying, sweet, and cheap. This fragrance is quite a pleasure to be around, and could be worn to a formal dinner or a workplace. I've yet to hear anyone that did not like this fragrance, but I would say this is for females vs males. It's great, lasts a long time, and is not overly sweet.. but it doesn't smell like cooking vanilla, either. It's simply elegant. But why would this be a surprise, considering Santa Maria Novella is a classy company. The nice thing about this scent, much less SMN, is you know very few people will have it. It's simply unique!! and great.

Fragrances -Creed - Neroli Sauvage
blah114 12/27/2005 8:55:00 AM
This is my favourite Creed thus far. It's fresh, clean, and very modern, with a classic appeal. I find the scent masculine. At first it smells of Lemon Pledge oven cleaner. 20 seconds later, however, it's drying into a musk that is predominantly citrus. The fragrance is highly addictive and once again, I've gotten loads of compliments on this fragrance, people saying how pleasant, fresh, even "sexy" this is. I highly, highly recommend this fragrance. I bought it in a small sample (1/2 oz), but do not think I can afford a giant bottle of this. This is easily my favourite Creed thus far. It's appropriate for a date or workplace. It's similar to Selection Verte, but "sexier," so everyone says!

Fragrance -Chanel - Allure Pour Homme

This smells exactly like Huge Boss' Number 6, but without the sweetness. It's great, but unoriginal and uninspiring. It's a very safe fragrance to wear to work. I was amazed at the striking similarities between Boss and this--my guess is Hugo Boss copied it, or maybe it's sheer coincidence both fragrances are clones of one another.

Fragrances -Creed - Green Irish Tweed
blah114 12/19/2005 1:11:00 PM
Bought this from scentiments.com and I am very happy. It's everything Cool Water claims to be, but much much more. It's got a hint of smokey Irish soap in it.. but above all, this is a man's scent that can be worn daily to work or on a date. It's a very refreshing scent, but it is unassuming. I have received many compliments on it while wearing it. You can tell the ingredients are high in quality as the scent lasts for 8+ hours.. it smells soft and unassuming, like a freshly showered scent. It smells a tad sweet, but bitter, sort of like Cool Water, but without the cloying annoyance of synthetic smells throughout the day. I would say Creed hit a home-run with this scent as it's the "safest" Creed out there. I cannot imagine anyone not liking this scent. It's not overly sexy, but can be worn on any date as well as workplaces. It's great. Also, again, why Creed has to talk about their A-list clientelle only cheapens their products.. and I hardly believe nor care that Cary Grant wore this fragrance..... even if he did, who cares. What's next? Having J-Lo autograph their bottles???? It's just ridiculous for the House of Creed to think people care about Kevin Costner wearing Bois du Portugal.. or JLO wearing Silver Mountain.. or Grant wearing Green Irish Tweed.. anyway, great scent nonetheless.

Fragrances -Creed - Acier Aluminium
blah114 12/17/2005 1:39:00 PM
Creed. How to do they do it? This fragrance is elegant, erotic, and classy all simultaneously. It makes Gucci's Envy look mild by comparison. Above all, the scent is simply pleasant. I can smell vanilla sometimes.. other times, I smell a sweet fruity smell mixed with elegant men's cologne in between. The cologne is truly sexy, but classy. It's one of the best Creeds out there, but it's expensive, in my opinion. It's not an everyday cologne like Boss Bottled or Creed's GIT, because it's so upscale, so elegant, and so pricey. Highly recommended. Best Creed scent, to me, yet.

Fragrances -Hugo Boss - Boss #6
blah114 12/15/2005 11:43:00 AM
This fragrance is very casual, and.. "edible.." It actually smells tasty for some weird reason. It smells sweet, and yet, upscale. I was very surprised at the high class of this scent coming from a company like I view as Abercrombie and Fitch.. or Banana Republic. This cologne is very unique and is so pleasant, refreshing, you could wear to an office everyday. It really smells great. The packaging looks great, but it's really cheaply done.. when I turn the bottle upside-down.. little droplets of fragrance leak. Very cheap bottle, but the price is cheap. This cologne is suitable for a date or for work.. and it's got a hint, to me, of a bakery smell, that is really pleasing. It's very sexy cologne, that is not as decadent as Gucci's Envy for Men. I highly recommend this, as you can grab a tester off scentiments.com for very low price. This fragrance is suitable for all occassions.. but it's quite common ,as I've smelled this 100 times on other people. That does not make it bad.. just not unique anymore.

Fragrances -Creed - Green Irish Tweed
blah114 12/15/2005 11:37:00 AM
Class in a bottle. This is a "safe" Creed.. Cool Water tried to rip off this fragrance, but Creed's smells much, much better, fuller. This fragrance smells casual for an office, or proper for a dinner party. Very safe, nice, clean scent. It smells sweet, bitter, and elegant all at once.. but it's not "busy," either. The scent is so original, that the comparisons to Cool Water are unfair.. Cool Water smells so one-noted compared to Green IRish Tweed. This is a gentleman's cologne, but a guy could easily wear this to a movie or a casual businessplace. I have yet to find someone that does NOT like this fragrance. It's not as unique as the other Creeds, but it's certainly great. Creed keeps topping themselves for me. I still love Silver Mountain the most, but I would say 99% of the people that have smelled this have asked, "That smells great.. what exactly is it? It smells Irish.." Perhaps it smells a bit like Irish Spring, who knows. But it also has a smoky, spicy hint to it. I highly recommend this fragrance. The more I smell it, the more I love it.

Fragrances -Creed - Tabarome Millesime
blah114 12/13/2005 9:36:00 AM
This cologne, to me, has a smell of lemons and citrus. I smell a hint of tobacco, but this fragrance reeks of formality. I would wear this to a formal dinner or a formal business meeting. The fragrance is subtle, yet you can smell it. It's very elegant. I like Silver Mountain better, but would NOT wear Silver Mountain to a wedding or event; I would wear Tabarome. I am simply amazed at Creed's high quality. The scent lasts forever and smells quite distinguished. If you want a formal, gentleman's fragrance, that does NOT smell stuffy or stale (Old Spice)... buy this. It's modern, classic, and appropriate all at the same time. I picture dinner jackets and martinis when wearing this cologne, but I also picture a night out at a nice restaurant, where casual attire is adorned. Great fragrance! I think Creed can do no wrong.
