Tabac Blond is a perfume you may want to wear when feel all grown up. It is not for the fainthearted but then most Caron's are not weak/soft and pretty things - they are full of character like Piaf's songs. This extrait is just gorgeous. It is spicy and simply addictive. Please test this and do try my other favourite Serge Luten's Cuir Mauresque a gorgeous medley with orange blossom notes.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - cedre

I am delighted that Chris Sheldrake and Serge Lutens have created another masterpiece. This is a woody floral fragrance where the tuberose kickstarts the glorgeous (glorious and gorgeous) blend of floweres, woods and spices. Within half an hour the spices, cedar and amber start to emerge and lend a gentle powderiness to the skin - it is simply delightful. I get tuberose, cedar, musk, amber and spices like cinnamon. The lasting power is good and it stays rather sensually close to the skin. Do test this even if you cannot stand either tuberose or cedar! A friend commented that it reminds her of V. Weswood's Boudoir but a much better version.

Fragrances -Balenciaga - Le Dix

I revisted this after years in Harrods recently and fell in love with it. I get a lot of flowers and a great compliment from my DH - that it smells very much like me - so I take this will be the closest to a HG for me as many others but honestly worth testing if you love flowers and woods. It is gentle yet such a pretty classic. I could not agree more with janebirken blow!

Fragrances -Montale - Intense Tiare

I love floral perfumes - quite proud of my blatant love and admiration for them. I tried Intense Tiare by Montale - his latest creation and I had to buy a bottle. I rarely buy on the spot. This is the second time I did this - first was Gardenia by Chanel parfum a couple of years ago. Frankly the price for 100 ml is 70 Euros for a rather concentrated bottle of EDP I consider this quite an excellent deal. The prolific perfumer waved his want to create another wearable perfume. This has just been released. It is true to Tiare oil I once tried at a friend's place. Lasting power is like all Montales - excellent....

Fragrances -Ormonde Jayne - Ta'if

This is a very pretty rose fragrance and has a sparkling quality described below. The orange blossom and broom are predominant along with the rose. I like it very much as it is not an overpowering rose - I am not a rose fan. The only comment is that it did not last on me that long unlike all of Linda's other fragrances I use. It is worth a try if you like Ormonde Jayne. I was lucky enough to sample this months before the actual launch and am pleased that it has not changed at all.

Fragrances -Hermes - Hermes Doblis

Well if you can get past the name Doblis - Hermes have relaunched this 1955 classic - a wonderful soft and classic smelling fragrance in perfume form with jasmine, rose, sandalwood and vetiver. It is gorgeous except the super gorgeous price tag of 350 Euros. I tested this a few times at 24 Faubourg St. Honore boutique but I guess that will be it. Unless I get it as a gift I cannot see myself forking out this much - even though this is goegeous, classy and so timeless....4 lippies because of the super expensive price tag. So test this!

Fragrances -Montale - Crystal Flowers

Crystal Flowers is a very beautiful blend of while flowers, rose from grasse and cedar. It is a gorgeous fragrance that is sparkling and wonderfully easy to wear anytime. If you love some of the Rosines - do try this. The lasting power like any other Montale creation is just amazing.

I totally agree with Mayra and Lucia here - this perfume is truly wonderful and feminine and the lasting power is superior to many other boutique perfumes. Tested in again recently at Fortnums in London and bought it. Guess it liked me too.

Montale Parfums are an interesting range of new perfumes created by Mr. Montale and it has a flagship store in Paris. I have tried almost all of their fragrances but my favourites are Sweet Dream Oriental - honey in the purest form, Chypre Fruite has mango, bergamot, rose, jasmine, patchouli and oak moss, White Musk is a subtle blend of violet leaves and ylangylang with high quality white musk and Ginger Musk has sparkling ginger, red fruits and musk. Then there is one called Sandflowers that takes you to a beach - smells of sandalwood and oak moss. It is very unique and wonderful for summer but not one of my favourites. Montale is also famous for an Aoud range where there are six different Aoud variations. These are worth a try if you like Oriental fragrances. These come in EDPs and parfums and in interesting aluminium bottles to keep the fragrances protected from heat and light. They are priced at 50 ml = 45 euros and 100 ml = 70 euros. Fragrances -Ormonde Jayne - Sampaquita

The newest addition to Linda's collection. This is a lovely summer fragrance which is easy to wear and like. Top notes: Lychee, grass oil, bergamot and magnolia. heart: Sampaquita absolute, freesia, muguet, rose and water lilies. Base: Musk, vetiver, moss and ambrette seed. I bought a bottle when I was in London on the day it was launched and can see using it a lot this summer. Do try all Ormonde Jayne fragrances - they are so wonderful and unique. I love almost all in her range.

I tried this again today and found this to be very beautiful - the drydown is amazing - some of my favourite notes jasmin, sandalwood and vanilla really do the trick. If you like these notes - do try it - you never know how fantastic it may smell on you! :)

Fragrances -Les Parfums de Rosine - Ecume de Rose

I tried it today and I loved it. It is like the all the other Rosine creations I have tried - not being a rose lover - these are the only rose perfumes I truly love. I do smell some vetiver and musk - it is very soft and incrredibly unobtrusive. Please do try if you can.

I am undecided on this one - yes it is a beautiful heady white floral fragrance - yet I think there are other perfumes similar to this one - I mean it is certainly not as unique as I was hoping for.

This is the least favourite of all the JAR perfumes I have tried. I guess it is the heaviness from amber and musk. The lasting power is something I must say is unique compared to any other boutique perfumes.
