Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel

I have been using this washing towel most of my life. You don't realize how good it is and how much you miss it until you are living somewhere where it's not sold. I hate hate hate using a regular wash cloth - it's limp and doesn't hold suds and absolutely cannot compare to the Salux. Apart from the exfoliating benefit, you just need a little soap or bath gel and it goes a loooong way. Plus, the long length of the towel makes it so easy to clean every nook and cranny and hard to reach area of your body. DO NOT use this on your face, however, as it is too rough. And, it will last forever. It's very sanitary and really doesn't need washing, but you can if want. However, they are so cheap that they're also economical to replace whenever you wish. I use the same one for months, though, before replacing it. It's one of the greatest creations ever, I do believe! And it comes in cute colors, too, especially the pink. What's not to love?

Wow! I, too, am surprised by the poor reviews of this product. I love it!! I'm sure hair type makes a big difference in what product will work for a particular person, so fyi, I have fine brunette hair that I've been coloring at home for oh, around four years now. I have a lot of hair, though, and a little bit of natural wave. Since I've started coloring, my hair tends to be on the dry side, but with an oily scalp. I think the smell is wonderful, and I really like that it does, indeed, hang around for most of the day. I use the conditioner also. I love the clean smell, and I've actually had people comment about how good I smell - I don't wear perfume, and I know they were talking about my hair. After just the first use, I noticed immediately how much softer and more manageable my hair was. The blow drying process was so much easier. My hair just looks so healthy, and styling is a breeze. It helps keep flyaways down, and smooths out split ends. My hair looks like shiny glass, I just love it. I agree with another poster that the bottle is hard to squeeze after the first few uses. It's definitely more expensive than a drugstore product but I purchase this at Nordstrom Rack for about $10. I can get by with using a lot less than, say, Pantene or Garnier Fructis, so it lasts a while. I think I even would go so far to say as this is an HG product for me!

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover
rated 4 of 5

I've been using this product for about three years now. I pay around $6.50 per bottle at my local Walmart. I wear waterproof mascara regularly, and need something strong yet gentle to remove each night. This product is very light - a little greasy, but I wash my face immediately following eye makeup removal so it's not a problem. I used to use baby oil to remove my mascara, which works really well, but I couldn't stand the oily residue that would stay in my eyes for a couple of hours after. I don't have that oily residue problem with this. I don't do the "swiping" thing that a lot of people seem to favor. That just gets the mascara all over my skin. I put the product on a cotton ball, then place the cotton ball over my closed eyelid and let the product settle in for a few seconds before gently wiggling the cotton ball. I use a clean but saturated section of the cotton ball to then do the same on the underside of my upper lashes with my eyes open, then clean up the mascara from my bottom lashes. OK, I guess I do swipe a couple times at this point, but just a couple of times. I worry about being too rough around the eye area - I'm 42 and the wrinkles are starting to get noticeable! I then usually have to go once more over my upper lashes to get any final remnants of mascara off. I use one cotton ball per eye. It may sound time consuming but actually it goes pretty quickly, and my eyes don't get irritated at all from the product. One bottle will usually last about 4 - 6 weeks depending on my daily mascara wear. I don't see lost eyelashes from this product. Between that, it's low price and the effectiveness in removing hard-to-remove waterproof mascara, this product is great.

Moisturizers -Olay - Definity Color Recapture Anti-Aging UV Moisturizer + Sheer Illuminating Coverage - Fair/Light
rated 4 of 5
binkygirl2000 10/25/2009 9:09:00 PM

As someone pointed out, Olay products are getting to be pricey. However, I bought this at Costco, two for $30, so I think that was a good deal. Plus, it's gonna last a long time - it will be months before I have to break out the second bottle, so even though it's expensive for a drugstore product, it is a good value overall. One pump is all I need...I pump it across two fingertips, rub together with my other hand, and spread all across my face, even my eyelids, blending well at the jawline and hairline. I have the light/medium, which works when I've got a little color but is too dark when I'm my naturally pale self. The product DOES go on greasy, so I can't use it by itself - not just because of the greasiness, but because the color isn't a good match for my skin. However, under my Alima mineral makeup, it works wonders. I love Alima and the way it looks on me, but the Olay adds a little "oomph" to my skin that I like. It helps to even out my skin tone, adds a nice glow, gives it a dewy appearance, and provides a really good base for the mineral makeup to cling to, and helps the makeup to last longer throughout the day. The packaging is really nice. The bottle is well made and the pump works beautifully with no mess, and of course, being a pump, is sanitary. Obviously from the reviews it's not for everyone, but it works great for me as a makeup base. I am 42 and have oily skin, but I'm not prone to breakouts. I plan on continuing use of this product.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
rated 4 of 5
binkygirl2000 10/25/2009 8:56:00 AM

First of all, I do believe that if you use these pore strips, you shouldn't use them that often. I use them maybe once every 6 - 8 weeks. Also, I don't leave the strip on as long as the recommended time it says to. Once the strip is hard and firm, it's ready to pull, and for me, that takes maybe 5 minutes, 7 at most. I've never had any issues with it pulling skin off or being painful to remove - my guess is that happens if you leave it on too long. You just grab a corner of the strip and pull it off in a slow and steady motion. Wella - clean nose with minimal cost and effort.

Treatments -Moroccanoil - Morrocan Oil Treatment
rated 5 of 5

I was a huge fan of Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum. Thought I couldn't live without it. Well, serum, b'bye! Moroccan Oil Treatment is my new best friend! I can't believe how beautiful my hair looks using this product. I can tell the difference as soon as I start blow-drying; even as it's drying, I can see the shine and softness coming through. I now really, really enjoy the blow-drying process, which used to be just such a chore. I color my hair myself every 5-6 weeks. Even though I do only the roots and just a few chunky strands to freshen up the all over color and add some depth, my hair still gets dried out. No more!! My hair not only looks the best it has ever looked, it feels the best, too, even better than my pre-coloring days. Split ends just melt away, and my hair has an amazing luster that I thought could only be achieved in shampoo commercials with special lighting and filming angles. I am really, really blown away. I've seen complaints about the packaging, but I have no problem with it. I just put the bottle flat against my palm and tilt the bottle quickly and back, and do it once more. These two dime-sized tiny little bits of fluid on my palm are enough for my thick, shoulder length hair. I rub my palms together and smooth through my hair. Blow drying is fast and easy. What I love the most is that I hate hate hate spending time on my hair - any time I have to spend more than five minutes on it, I get grouchy. Therefore, I flat iron maybe four times a year. With Moroccan Oil, my hair kinda looks like it's been flat-ironed when I blow dry with a paddle brush. I love that. The reason my hair dresser recommended this product is because she hated how the sides of my hair would poof out and look frizzy and fluffy - said it made her look like a crappy hair dresser! She gave me a tiny sample bottle. I've been using it for two weeks now and I've barely made a dent. I will definitely buy a full sized bottle when I need to, but this stuff lasts forever because I need such a small amount. I think the sample bottle will last me at least two months. I really can't express how great my hair looks. Flyaways are gone, hair is shiny no matter what kind of lighting I'm in, and it's so soft - yet still holds the style of my haircut, it doesn't get so soft that it's limp. As a matter of fact, I have a good deal of body and bounce, but I don't have the "fat" hair that so annoyed my hair dresser. And the biggest advantage over the Super Skinny Serum is that, while the Super Skinny left my hair feeling like it had product in it, the Moroccan Oil is absolutely weightless. My hair feels like - well, like plain ol' clean hair! No residue whatsoever. It's good to be living in 2009 where hair products make my life so much better! :)

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
rated 5 of 5
binkygirl2000 11/25/2007 8:18:00 PM

I love this product. It works great for me. I put it on at night and I wake up in the morning with smooth, glowing skin. It really helps to keep the blackheads at bay. I wish it came perhaps in a pump form, as the liquid is so light and thin...I don't use a cotton ball because that would use too much product, so I shake some onto my fingers and apply; It doesn't irritate my skin at all; I can even use it around the eyes and it doesn't irritate me eyes, either. Skin feels smooth as glass, makeup goes on flawlessly, and I think I look five years younger! I think the cost is very reasonable, especially as you don't need to use a lot of product (especially if you don't use a cotton ball), and one bottle will last several months. Will use forever.
