Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Oil Cleansing Method OCM
bigpore 11/18/2012 9:21:00 AM
I've been using the OCM for three weeks now. My oily but dehydrated, acne-prone skin is now less oily, and almost blemish and blackhead -free. I use cold-pressed sweet almond oil only, even though I've read a lot of comments that castor oil is the most important part of OCM. It was not intentional, it's just impossible finding castor oil here in Singapore. But sweet almond oil has worked so well for me, plus I've noted bad reactions to the OCM almost always involves castor oil. (I add about 10 drops of clary sage eo and 10 drops of rosemary eo to 100ml of sweet almond oil, the eos help "balance" my skin.) I massage about a tablespoonful of the oil into my dry, still made-up face for about 2-3 minutes. I use a muslin cloth soaked in water that just came off the boil, hold it up for excess water to drip out (this cools the cloth down a little) then rest it on my face for about 10 sec before wiping the oil off. I apply the cloth quite firmly, to get some exfoliating action in. I do this 3 times, followed by a cold water rinse. My face doesn't feel oily at all after this, just supple and satiny soft.

Foundations -Josie Maran Cosmetics - Matchmaker
bigpore 10/8/2012 8:10:00 AM
This is my first review on MUA and I've been moved to write this by what is perhaps the best foundation ever (mild exaggeration only). I have NC25 olive skin that is oily, yet dehydrated. Most moisturising foundations leave me with a sheen like cling wrap by noon, while foundations made for oily skin tend to break me out. Josie Maran's matchmaker foundation (in light-medium) goes on smooth but feels light as air. My skin feels velvety soft and I can go without blotting all day. Although the colour is not an exact match - on me, it looks more pink than orange when first applied - within minutes it settles into the colour of my-skin-but-brighter. One pump is enough for sheer coverage that is buildable, but it won't cover darker marks like fresh acne scars. It stays on well but is a cinch to wash off with my Eucerin Dermatoclean cleansing gel. Perhaps the best part is that the argan oil has treated my skin all day leaving it baby soft immediately after cleansing. It lets me forgo moisturising at night without fear of waking up with dehydration-related spots. The only reason why it doesn't get a perfect grade is that it hasn't got SPF, and since I hate layering this means I won't use it more often than a couple of times a week and definitely not when I'm outdoors.
