After I started using Megatek (a hair growth product) on my scalp, the strong protein caused my hair to shed. I have been using this product for 1 month and my shedding has reduced greatly. There is not a strong, pungent garlic scent from this product. You can only smell a faint garlic scent if you hold the product close to your nose. When you rinse the conditioner out of your hair, there is no garlic scent. I purchased the product for about $3.99 at the local BSS.

The product received rave reviews on various AA natural hair blogs. The product was on clearance at a local store for $2.99, so I gave it a try. It has a great scent and assists with making my hair soft and managable. If it was priced lower, I would purchase it again. I would not purchase it at the regular price.

Conditioner -Suave - Professionals Humectant Conditioner

I have been using this product for about 2 years. The product has a thick, creamy consistency. I have been wearing my hair natural (4a/4b) hair for a couple of years. I use this conditioner for co-washing. My hair is soft and managable. Prior to using this product, I had to use Sta-Soft Fro conditioner spray to comb-out my natural hair. I no longer have to use the spray. I find that this product has worked well for me. Affordable price is another benefit.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Perfect Peel Solutions 30% Lactic Acid Peel

I purchased this product after experimenting with Glycolic Acid peels. I found Glycolic to be too harsh for my skin and it caused additional breakouts. I have used Lactic Acid without any problems. I use the peel, 2-3 layers, 2 times per week. After usage, it has my skin feeling smooth, like a baby's bottom. It has also helped in reducing the appearance of large pores. The product has helped with fading dark spots. I usually use aloe vera on my skin after I perform the chemical peel. There is minor redness on my face, but it usually fades after a couple of hours. Great product.

Concealers -Dermablend - Cover Creme - Cream

This is a great product, but I found it to be priced high. It is a great foundation cover creme for blemishes. It has a smooth, creamy texture. I also like the shade selection that Dermablend offers. Great product.

I really love this product. I find the product to be just as nice as Dermablend. The nice thing about this product is that it is much more affordable than Dermablend. It has a creamy texture and goes on very smooth. It is great for covering dark eye circles and dark spots. It would be nice if there was a greater variety of shades, but as a woman of African descent, I am used to the limited shade selection. A great product, especially for the price.

I like this product, but the scent is a little strong. It has a thick, creamy texture and lathers well. It is okay, but I elected to purchase a product with a less, intense scent.

I use this product on my synthetic wigs. The product helps prevent tangling of wavy and curly styles. It has a nice scent, but I find it to be too strong and overpowering. I usually have to use it on my wigs the night before wearing them to let the scent fade. I am on the fence about purchasing it again. I have found another product with a less intense scent.

I can't believe that I bought this for only $1.00. I purchased it from Family Dollar. If a good eyeshadow base or jumbo eye pencil (used as base) is used, it gives a nice, long-lasting color. It is a good value for the money and I have used the palette on a regular basis.

I came across this color in my local beauty supply. I purchased the lip color for $1.00 and it is one of the best colors I have purchased. I am a medium-complexioned African-American and it has a subtle, lavender color. I love it. I have received compliments on it from strangers, which is nice. The lipstick has a smooth, creamy texture and is long lasting. It is a great buy for only one smackroo!

This is a nice all-purpose eye pencil. I use it as a base on my eyelids, under eyeshadow to make the colors more intense and long-lasting. I also use it as a highlight color for my browbone. It has a smooth, creamy texture and for $2.99, you can't beat it. Great product, great price.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Likas Papaya Soap

This is a great product. No fancy packaging or gimmicks. It is an herbal exfoliator soap with a light fragrance. I use it 2 times per day on my face. It has helped, along with Ambi, to fade dark spots on my chin area. I usually make a lather on my face and let it sit for 3-4 minutes while I shower/bathe. It has improved the texture of my skin. It is a product that is well, worth it. I also use a lactic acid peel. If you use chemical peels, you must refrain from using an exfoliator product like Likas Papaya Soap for at least 24 hours. If you don't, you run the risk of burning your skin during the chemical peel process. Great product and affordable too.

I got a Jordana Jumbo Eye Pencil in Vivid Lillies as a impulse/purchase. The price was cheap and I figured that I would eventually use it. After a couple of months, I had not opened the package. When I eventually used it, I could not believe how fabulous it was. The deep, violet color was highly pigmented and had a creamy texture. The color did not fade. I am very impressed with this product, especially at such a low price.

I love this product. For the price (of about $4.99), it is very good quality. It does not smudge and glides on smoothly. I usually use black or blue. I usually line the top edge of my eyes, but will line the entire eye for a dramatic evening look. I wear contact lenses and it does not burn my eyes or irritate my lenses. Great product, especially for the price.

I am a huge fan of Iman's eyeshadows. She is the queen of the smokey eye and her darker eyeshadow colors do the job. I usually don't wear her eyeshadow during the daytime, but they are great for a dramatic evening look. The eyeshadow glides on smooth and is long lasting, until you remove it. A great product for the price.
