Eye Makeup Remover -Simple - Kind To Eyes Eye Make-up Remover
bexidaisy 5/16/2013 4:50:00 PM
This is my ultimate holy grail eye makeup remover. I'm on my 10+ bottle! It removes ALL of my eye makeup: waterproof mascara, eyelash glue reside etc. I don't know why some people have difficulty with it removing waterproof products - it's the ONLY thing that I've found (short of baby oil, which stings like a b****) that removes all of my eye makeup, and I cake it on A LOT. It doesn't break me out at all because it is completely oil free, and it has no scent. I refuse to use anything else on my eyes! I use 2 'squirts' onto a cotton pad, and one cotton pad for each eye. Bonus, it's SUPER CHEAP. A 4 for packaging, because I wish it had a pump.

Mascara -TheBalm - Cheater

I love this product as a daytime mascara, or as a 'base' for a much heavier one to be applied too. This doesn't clump at all, and in two coats it looks very nice with a natural eye for work or school or shopping. It isn't dramatic enough for me to wear at night time, however, because it doesn't clump at all, it is the perfect base for my heavier mascaras, like diorshow, lights camera lashes and YSL shocking. It really helps them with clumping issues and makes them last longer. The packaging is okay, but the paper sticker is peeling off which is irritating. Overall, I would buy this again, and I plan on repurchasing this when I next see it.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
bexidaisy 1/1/2013 8:24:00 PM
I'm sure this works for some, but it just doesn't cut it for me unfortunately. This actually slides off of my eyelids (which aren't oily, I use a primer to stop mild creasing and to increase the colour payoff of my shadows.) On top of that, when I squeeze it out of the tube, there was always a drop of oil EVERY TIME, even if I shook it. So I took to putting a large dot on the back of my hand to combat this, which wasted the product. This never really set on my eyelids either, like UDPP does, so my eyeshadows turned into an oily mess! Maybe I just had a bad tube, but from my experience, I cannot recommend this and wouldn't buy it again. It's a shame, because I love everything else from Too Faced!

Liquid -Bourjois - Healthy Mix Foundation
bexidaisy 8/15/2012 7:29:00 AM
I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION. I bought this on a whim and I'm so glad that I did! I'm a HE foundation girl all the way, but this has truly taken HG status in my book. The coverage is medium-buildable but it's amazing - I have a face full of freckles, and this pretty much covers them without looking mask-like at all. It makes me look very glowy and natural, like I have perfect, blemish free skin. I use the matching concealer with it which is great too. The finish is glowy, without looking greasy or too unnatural. The price is great, for what it is - I think it's about £10-11. Pixiwoo (n/a) state that this is a great dupe for the now discontinued Chanel Pro Lumiere. The packaging is AMAZING. It comes with a pump, and has a system whereby the more you pump, the foundation is pushed up FROM THE BOTTOM - leaving nothing left in the bottle when you've finished it, You really can use all of the product. I'd def buy this again - infact - I already have! P.s. Only downfall (that doesn't affect me) is the shade selection. If you have skin darker than tan, you won't find a shade for you :(

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector

I really like this product. I'm NW15 and I use the light Peach shade to cancel out my HORRIFIC purple circles under my eyes. It does the job really well, and a little goes a long way. I've given it a 4 as sometimes it does crease (but only if you put a little too much on.) I apply it with my ring finger in a tapping motion and it seems to do the trick! The packaging is nice and classy, however I don't like the 'compact' style - I've broken a nail trying to open it one day when it was being stubborn. Overall - it is an expensive product but I'm already planning on buying a backup, as nothing else has worked for my dark circles!

Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

I've just purchased a back-up of this product and I'm only 1/3 of the way through my first one! It's a must-have item for nights out - it saves on space in a makeup bag, and the mirror is a great size. I gave it a 4, because unlike other reviewers I find that this only lasts around 3 hours on me. It's not a deal-breaker, just mildly irritating. But hey - for $3 I can cope!

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

I really love love love this product, and I agree with all of the great reviews, but I do want to draw your attention to a packaging flaw (or something like that!) I have gone through 3 of these tubs in 2 years, and each of them has had the same issue. About 2/3 of the way in, the tub suddenly gets really oily. Not the product, but the tub. As if the product around the edge of where you've used has melted (as it does in your hands). It's not an issue, except it leaves a big, greasy mark on anywhere you put the tub. I've tried wiping the tub all over and it STILL happens - as of yet I haven't found a cure haha! It's only a minor issue, but still - DO NOT put the tub on any fabric, or leave it on a nice wooden surface - in the bathroom it's fine :)

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
bexidaisy 4/24/2012 11:59:00 AM
I love MAC Blot Powder! On a night out this is a STAPLE in my handbag. It's the only HE product I risk taking out with me, becaise I just can't live without it. The only thing I find weird is the shade selection. I'm very fair and I'm medium dark in this - which is odd! I blot it all over my face to get rid of excess oil, and it evens out my foundation where the oil has tampered with the coverage. I'm def going to buy this again when I run out! xoxo

Mascara -Max Factor - False lash effect
bexidaisy 4/15/2012 9:43:00 AM
This is my HG mascara. I really can't explain how much I love it! I flit between this and L'Oreal's Volume Millions and buy whichever is on sale at the time. It's not clumpy, it's hard to smudge and it really separates my lashes. I normally don't like this type of rubber wand, but it's an amazing product and something that everyone should try :)

This product looks chalky on the face but it feels really greasy. I wore it for 2hours and then I had to take it off. I'm giving it 2/5 though because the colour 'light' was a perfect match for me. I don't reccomend this and won't be buying it again.

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Prime Time Oil Control
bexidaisy 3/26/2012 7:58:00 AM
I have combo/oily skin. I purchased this product only to put on my oily t-zone, as the rest of my skin doesn't get oily, and seems to keep foundation on quite well. Withing 30 seconds of putting this on, my skin dried out, flaked and even cracked in places. It was horrendous. It wasn't an allergeic reaction, it literally took ALL of the moisture out of my skin. So I guess if you have INCREDIBLY oily skin, this may be for you. But for me, with slightly above average levels of oil, it was just really not worth it. I have a sample of their normal prime time to try, but for now, my HG primer is Cargo's Blu-ray primer.

Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
bexidaisy 3/26/2012 7:45:00 AM
This is my HG concealer. I've tried so many over the years, and this really is a hidden gem. It doesn't irritate my breakouts AT ALL. (like MAC and Collection 2000 did to me). It covers all of my redness, and my awful skin around my nose - again, without irritating it. The coverage is amazing! For the first time ever, I will walk out of my door wearing only concealer. It really gives me so much confidence. The only downfall is that it's not particularly hygenic to put the wand back in the tube after dabbing it on your blemishes, but this hasn't given me any trouble. I blend it in with a Jemma Kidd stippling foundation brush, which works a treat. Does anyone know if Maybelline are slowly phasing this out? It's getting much harder to find in stores...

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
bexidaisy 2/5/2012 2:31:00 PM
First things first; I have a love/hate relationship with this product, but that is simply my own fault, not the foundation's. I suffer from combo skin and localized breakouts and some weeks this will aggitate them, and some weeks it won't - however, when my skin is doing well this foundation is VERY hard to beat. It makes my face glow without looking shiny, gives a nice medium/full coverage and I ALWAYS get compliments on my face whenever I wear it. Yes - It does need a very light dusting of powder to set (I use the MUF HD powder), but then I find it lasts all day for me. It doesn't cling to my dry spots, or accentuate my breakouts (although sometimes I do have to use a small amount of concealer over the top). Overall, if applied with a big rounded buffing brush (such as Louise Young's) the resulting look is amazing. Yes, it takes some TLC to get the desired look, but it's totally worth it. If you spend the time buffing this foundation on, and set it correctly, it will look incredible! The only reason I did not rate this 5/5 is because of the traditional Chanel heavy glass packaging. Yes, the pump is brilliant, but the bottle weighs a ton!

Foundations -BeneFit Cosmetics - Play Sticks
bexidaisy 2/5/2012 8:52:00 AM
Okay - I just wanted to clear a few things up with this foundation since it seems to be getting really mixed reviews. I first bought this foundation on a Christmas trip to NYC, where the Benefit MUA in Sephora was doing makeovers. At the time, my current foundation was looking cakey and the MUA basically dragged me over to put this on my face! I loved it! It was my HG foundation for 18 months and honestly I can't remember why I stopped using it. I think I started using a tinted moisturiser over the summer and simply forgot I had the Playstick. There are 2 basic rules when applying this foundation, and I think that it's the failure to follow these steps that creates the ambiguity around it. 1. ALWAYS APPLY A MOISTURISER FIRST. This is a basic step that should be followed with any foundation, yet so many people seem to skip it. With the Playstick, this enables the product to glide on and blend so easily without compromising the overall coverage. The MUA I had used the Benefit You Rebel Lite, mixed with their That Gal shimmery primer. (On it's own that combo looks awesome in the summer). 2. APPLY THE PLAYSTICK WITH A SPONGE. Simply swipe the sponge over the stick and start blending it onto your face. This means you use a minimal amount of product, and the moisturiser helps the sponge to glide over your face. You're left with a really flawless finish. The Playsticks lasted me a good 6 months each, and I really like full coverage. The only con I found with this foundation was that you really do need to set it - something like MAC's blot powder would be good - patted onto the skin with the powder puff provided. This will hopefully stop so much transfer, and I would also recomend setting it with a fixing spray to make it last longer. Touch-ups are so easy however, since you just pop the stick and a sponge in your bag!
