Moisturizers -La Mer - The Moisturizing Soft Cream
bettyblue38 12/22/2012 8:25:00 AM
I received a sample with a recent purchase. I kind of refused to try La Mer because of the high price tag and the whole "hype" around it. Or in other words the whole story around. The price tag was more of a turn off and the policy of the counters (where I have been to so far) not to give out one single sample. I tried it in real colder temps recently during day time. At that time it was not enough. I then combined it with Arganoil and it worked perfect. Now with milder temperatures it is just great. My skin has a bit of a glowing touch and it looks as if my skin is really well hydrated when I wear the cream only. The sample lasted me two weeks with a daily use in the morning. I purchased another sample and will use that. I am really at the point where I will buy this as a full size once I used up the other sample. The price is expensive, I gave it a 4. I know there are products out there which are more expensive. The overall rating is a 5 for me. So far it is the best product that I had on my skin.

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate
bettyblue38 2/4/2011 4:31:00 AM
I am going through the 3rd dispenser of this product. As much as I like the other products of the Exigence line, this one does nothing for me. Well it does not do anything good or bad. I could probably use Nivea cream for the eye area with the same effect. No improvement whatsoever. The price is ridiculous given the , for me individually, no result. DHC concentrated eye cream works for me with visible results. The downside is I can not get DHC in Germany without looking for a CP overseas. However I will not buy it for the 4th time to give it a chance. The few mm's of hard cream, just like a worm, that come out every 2 or 3 days once you pump this product should not build up at all. I never had this with other products in dispensers. Not even with the Exigence serum. Not sure if this is based on the texture of the eye cream or not. I gave it a 4 for the packaging cuz I like dispensers. I think Clarins should have their creams in dispensers or tubes rather than in these heavy glass jars.

Treatments -MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel

Lucky me that I received 2 sample sachets when I purchased a niche perfume. The perfumery does have high end skincare products in their range. The SA explained the use to me and at home the same nite I tried them for the first time.Wow wow and another wow was all I could say after the first application. Instantly my pores looked smaller, my skin in general did appear like a baby butt. Soft and the appearance like a wrinkle free baby butt cheek. I was stunned. The price here in Germany is more than stunning as well. I did order a package of sachets over the bay from the UK or the US , cant remember and then after that a full size package 60 day supply via the bay again in the UK. Much better price than the retail price here. I use them every 3rd day at nite. My skin is very sensitive but does not react with rashes or outbreaks during or after the applicatin at all. I can feel the tingly sensation on the skin but that's it. for sure I will repurchase them as this product for my skin is clearly worth the money. Tried Avon Anew before which is a good product. but this one does show better results. Probably due to higher concentration and based on the two steps? I apply Aloe Vera Cream after the treatment and it works fine for me.

Lipstick -Shiseido - The Makeup Shimmering Lipstick SL13
bettyblue38 7/17/2009 3:58:00 PM
I can only join in. I bought this yesterday at the Duty Free Shop here in Germany. Online I did oogle at SL 16 and 17. When I browsed the duty free yesterday and came to the Shiseido display I noticed this one. Very nice ylbb color on my lips. I did not try it on and just blind purchased it. I like the texture, the color is great on my lips and the shimmer is just right. It does not last all day long but I did not expect it. It has a good portion of moisture in it and it does not dry out my lips. The price at the duty free is 20 Euros. Retails for 24 Euros in the store. They handed out a 2 Euro voucher yesterday so it came down to 18 Euros. The packaging is very nice as well. Best lipstick I did purchase so far and even for the retail price well worth the money.

Fragrances -Amouage - Lyric Woman
bettyblue38 10/26/2008 4:45:00 AM
Nice, very nice rop a shy rose that develops out of a bed of cardamom and a hint of ginger. Slowly it seems the rose arises. At least on my skin. The balance between the cardamom and the ginger is very nice. I dont care much for ginger but this amount is okay with me. Initially I did not smell the rose. It took her a while to show up. Along, I think, I smell a hint of iris? Could that be? No incense or frankincense so far. A nice oriental fragrance but not an oriental fragrance, to me, that arrives onto your skin with the hasta la vista mentality of Terminator. I use this as an analogy since I dont know how to describe what I would say in German into English. It is not an overwhelming or overpowering oriental scent, more on the sublime side. It is there but not with the full force of some other fragrances out of the same family. would I buy it again? Yes. No, if something will be launched that I personally like better. The packaging is very nice. Dark red velvet interior with a dark red bottle. Simple but in a way elegant. The price is expensive, as with a few other perfumes from other lines. 185 Euros for a 50 ml bottle.

Liquid -Revlon - Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup SPF 15
bettyblue38 8/31/2008 1:34:00 AM
I happened to see this last weekend when I was in the US and purchased it. In previous years I did use Revlon Colorstay Lipsticks. Since I wanted a Make Up that is not high end in price I thought I give this a try. Plus it is the first skin matching make up I tried. I bought the lightest color. Am a 2.5 with BB MU which did not work for me. The texture of this MU is nice. I can apply it with my fingers without any problem. No bad smell. It does not provide a lot of coverage. The color really matches my natural skin color and makes my face look even. I dont need much coverage in general since my skin is more on the dry side and I have a very minor T-zone which does not have any breakouts or else. My skin does not react funny at all.I like the product. Seems it is a cross over between a light make up and a TM. Usually I apply Dianne Brill fresh water pearl foundation. This one from Revlon is nice too and it is the "cheaper" option. I think the price is a bargain. Might be because the exchange rate for our Euro is so good. But then I did not find a drugstore MU here in Germany that would come close to the quality of this Revlon product. And not close to the price either. Paid 13.99 $ plus tax at CVS and am a happy camper Would buy again unless Revlon rolls out something better

Lip Gloss -Hourglass - Extreme sheen
bettyblue38 12/26/2007 1:43:00 AM
I was fortunate to have a good friend sending me an Hourglass Extreme Shine in Imagine. The price is really high end. In comparison to the price for EL and Chanel I would say it is in the same range if I convert it to Euro. Armani is for sure more expensive. Back to the Hourglass. Nice packaging. The brush is great. Not a cheap one like other brands (e.g. BB where the brush spreads wide after a certain time) The texture is superb!!! I really really liked MAC gloss and glass. But this, IMHO, is much better. Not sticky like the MAC. It is a great gloss and shine effect and it lasts very long. The smell is really nice. To me like Vanilla. The brush has the right amount of gloss on it once you pull it out. Nothing remains on the winding (not sure if this is the right word). Even though the price can give me a short "toothache" I would definetly buy it again and a different color. Imagine is a pink-nude color. Not really nude nude and not pinky pink. Just the right combination of both colors to look perfect on almost every skintone. My opinion.

Fragrances -Sage Machado - Carnelian
bettyblue38 1/2/2007 12:12:00 PM
I did try the Carnelian as a sample since there was a big rave about the similarity to Citrus Dream by Jalaine. First of all I dont see it less expensive as the Jalaine. Probably only by a fraction. Second the smell is horrible to me. I do adore the Citrus Dream and it is a soft citrus scent with a creamy touch on my skin. The Carnelian has (this is my personal view on it) no similarity in the least whatsoever with Jalaine. I dont smell any citrus, orange or else. It is a flat scent that does not do any for me.I am glad I got the sample rather than ordering it blind in full size. In 2006 this was the worst fragrance I did smell. Not sure if that is my body chemistry that the Carnelian and I dont get along. Overall this fragrance cant replace CD. I rather "bath" less in Jalaine then.
