Hair Color -Garnier - Herbashine

I admit, my hair was probably a bit too light to use the color I used, Medium Golden Brown. I have naturally medium blond hair, and when I used this, had some grown-out lowlights and highlights. Anyway, I used this on December 24, 2010, and left it in for about 8 minutes. It made my hair a deep, deep auburn. Looked extremely dark in low lighting and looked light a horrid orange-y red-y color in brighter lighting. A month later, it faded to a tolerable dark brown with orange undertones. Two months after that, it faded to an orange-y dark blond/light brown. I actually like that color, the color I got THREE MONTHS LATER, but I've grown bored with it and want my blond hair back. I've been using peroxide to lighten it gradually since apparently, this crap is not ever going to budge. I've had permanent hair color done that faded more quickly than this. So yeah, medium golden brown=dark auburn.

What they said. Wish I'd read these reviews before I wasted 10 bucks.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pink Freeze
rated 5 of 5

This is the light pink I've been looking for. Yes, it's lighter on the skin than it is in the pan, and yes, it comes off a little silvery/whitish, but that's what I wanted--a very light pink that would work as a lid color with my purples in the crease, but that didn't make me look as if I had pink eye. Love this.

Eye Shadow -Shiseido - Hydro Powder Eyeshadow in Glistening Sand H9
rated 4 of 5

Okay, it's not that this stuff is bad. It's not. And these might be awesome in other colors. I bought it after testing a few on my hand, and wanting something versatile, I bought the Glistening Sands shade. It's pretty, but very similar to UD Sin, which is 16 bucks. It would be good under matte shadows if you wanted to make them look shimmery, but for that I have Clinique's Touch Tint in Nude Sparkle (or something along those lines), which is ten bucks cheaper and better suited to use as a base. So this is nice, I but wouldn't buy this color again.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Couleur Eyeshadow - Stylish Move 970

I agree completely with HeatherT's review; it's like you want this to be something that it just isn't. I don't know that it's chalky, necessarily, but the colors are pretty sheered out. That dark purple is gorgeous, but I can't see spending more than 50 bucks for one pretty shade, especially when you really have to work at making it look good. I read all the reviews about how these didn't show up well or blend too easily, but I got it anyway. Don't do it! Or if you must, at least go and try it out on your eyes. The way the colors show up when you swatch them on your hand can really fool you. Mine's up for swap.

Self Tanners -SUN Laboratories - Dark Sunsation Lotion
rated 3 of 5
berrysyrup 6/28/2008 5:11:00 AM

This thing's tint is amazing. I put it on and was like, yes, oh YES! It looked like I had spent four solid days lying out in the sun. Then, 7 hours later, I washed it off. There my tan went, down the drain. Those of you who are getting a "nut-brown" tan...how? Tell me how! What kind of nut are we talking here? A pale, pale nut? Anyway, it's just okay for me. It's probably not possible to find a self tanner that would tan someone a week's-worth-of-sun dark.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Graphology [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I like this a lot for the outer v and for use as a liner. I add it to pretty much every pink or purple look I do. Texture and pigmentation are awesome, and a little bit goes a very long way.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe
rated 5 of 5

This is possibly the only shadow that I've bought based on rave reviews here that actually does work for me. I really like browns but they tend to make me look tired, so this is a nice compromise that works well with a lot of different shadow colors. I'll definitely repurchase when I run out.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Cranberry eye shadow

Eh. I've seen this look amazing on a lot of people, but it doesn't really work for me. On my eyes, it's too light for use alone in the crease, and it makes me look like I have conjunctivitis if I put it on the lid. I've only managed one decent look with it, and that certainly wasn't enough to justify keeping it, so I swapped it away.

Treatments -Earth Therapeutics - Clari-T Acne Serum

Oooooohhhhhhhhhh, thank you thank you THANK YOU MUA!!! I'll be 25 in a few months and I've been dealing with acne since I was 13. I have never, EVER had a face as clear as I do now, and I've only had this product for about 5 days now. I'm sensitive to benzoyl peroxide (in 7th grade, after using a zit cream with bp in it on my cheeks, I broke out into a rash which had me and my mother at the doctor's with the doctor wanting to test me for lupus...ay ay ay...but I digress) but this really was no bother. It does turn my skin little red when I apply it at night, and when I shower the next day, something about the bp and hot water makes red patches appear, but by the time I've applied my makeup, the red's gone and I look better than I ever have. I only pray that it doesn't stop working for me like it has for other reviewers. I'll update down the line if there are any changes, but so far, this has changed my skin like I thought nothing ever could.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion

I got this in The Best of Benefit set and I hate it. I can't believe I didn't try this in Sephora before I bought it. It doesn't show up unless I cake it on and when I do I look like a doll. And not in a good way. Never again.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Euphoria

My dad once made some concoction for acne that consisted of alcohol, smashed-up aspirin tablets, and the remains of some old, cheap Ralph Lauren cologne. In both effects and scent, it was not for the faint of heart. This stuff smells exactly like my father's zit solution. Really. It's all I could smell all day and it smells like a cheap man with zits.

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Alba Hawaiian Kukui Nut Body Butter
rated 4 of 5

The store in which I work sells this, and when it first came in, it smelled fantastic. I didn't buy it until it had sat on the shelf for quite some time, though, and by then the lotion smelled kind of plasticky, like the container. I still really like this for my hands since I wash them obsessively, and think this would be good for people with dry skin.

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-Color Trio for Blues

This looked like a circus on my eyelids. Now, sometimes I'm down for a good circus on my eyelids. This was not a good circus. It was an awful circus. This may be a combination of shadows best left to insanely gorgeous supermodels married to rock stars.

Smells fresh and clean and moisturizes without being heavy. Love this for days when I don't want to smell too flowery.
