BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream

I'm not a fan of heavy makeup and prefer either a sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer, so I picked this up. I liked the fact that it was oil free and had spf 30. It made my skin feel really smooth and hydrated. However, I found that it was a little dark for me (I got the lightest shade) and was too warm, making my skin look yellow. Maybe in the summer I can use it, so I'll save it for now. It also made me look really shiny and I needed quite a bit of powder to fix it. If it weren't for those two aspects I would love this product.
I was trying to dye my coloured light brown hair with the Light Intense Auburn shade. This has worked for me in the past with Garnier Nutrisse when I wanted to change my colour. The result of this new dye was an absolute disaster. Let me explain my experience: The developer and the coloring cream are separate from the dispenser bottle. The dispenser bottle is much wider than regular developer bottles, causing me to drop the coloring cream tube in the developer causing a huge mess. The product stains the skin much worse than traditional hair colours and I'm not sure how long I'm going to have orange/pink skin. After several minutes of rinsing, the water did not run clear and felt as if I stayed in the shower for hours, the water would still be pink. The conditioner was okay, nothing special. Now that my hair is drying, the colour is faded in several spots and my scalp is really stained. Now I have to go to the beauty supply store when it opens to get hair colour remover and dye to go back to brown. This was the worst hair colour product I have ever used and I will be writing to Garnier about my experience. Please don't buy this.
Treatments -TRESemme - Split Remedy Leave-In Conditioning Spray

I bought this to use as a detangler, and it claims to do so on the bottle. It detangled okay, but not as well as designated detanglers. I think this was meant more as a leave in conditioner than to detangle. I found that it clumped my hair near the roots, making it feel unclean. However, I notice that I have fewer split ends than before I started using this (although that may be because I haven't been torturing my hair much lately). I don't think I would repurchase this because I have other products I prefer as a leave-in and this is not the best detangler. Unfortunately, since TRESemme products are usually in large quantities, I still have 3/4 of the bottle left and I feel like it's a waste to toss it right now.
I think Rimmel just re-released this product with new colours and perhaps a new formulation. The bottles are a bit smaller and the brush is wider. I purchased this in "Blue Eyed Girl", which is a lovely colour and is about $3 from wal-mart. I really liked the new brush, it covers the nails quickly and is not flimsy like the thinner ones, leaving less of a mess. The formula was thick enough that only one coat was needed, and it did dry fast. The only issue I had was that it began to chip very fast. I've had it on for just over a day, and the tips are very chipped. I only wear nail enamel on weekends because my profession does not permit nail polish and therefore I do not bother with a top coat. If you were to purchase this, I would recommend you use a top coat. Other than the chipping, I think this is a great product.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil Free Moisture - SPF 15

Note: I have the SPF 30 version of this moisturizer, so I'm not sure if it is exactly the same formula with higher SPF or not. I was happy to find a moisturizer that was both oil free and had a higher SPF than 15, so I was excited to try this. I did not like the sunblock smell of the product, which was the first thing I noticed. It did have a light, milky formula that moisturized without looking shiny or greasy; perfect for combination skin like mine. However, I don't find that this moisturizes enough in the winter months when skin is very dry. I personally need a product formulated for dry skin during that time of year. I do really like this product for spring/summer/fall and will repurchase for its consistency and sun protection.
Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV Lotion SPF 15
belle666 1/26/2013 11:12:00 PM
I purchased this in hopes that it would be more moisturizing than my Neutrogena SPF 30 moisturizer that I use in the warmer months. The price was right and I liked that it was oil free and still had some UV protection. The lotion smelled very nice and made my skin feel soft and smooth. I was hoping it would be a little bit thicker and moisturizing for my dry, winter skin. However, I believe if it were, it might cause me to break out, which this lotion did not. Overall, this is a very good product for the price if you are looking for a light, non greasy moisturizer that is oil free.
I had originally purchased this in a violet shade and was disappointed in the lack of pigment. I bought this shade because I have trouble finding liquid liner in brown and it was only about $5. I was skeptical, but I was impressed. The pigment was dark enough for only one coat (compared to the violet) and the brush allowed me to produce thin lines and cat tails with ease. This liner is also long lasting and does not crack or flake like other liquid liners. I will definitely repurchase!
After I purchased this, I found out it is the exact same formulation as the CG Smoothers Tinted Moisurizer, and they just simply added "BB Cream" to the name. First off, like many other products named in North America, this is not a true BB cream! Actual BB cream has a much thicker consistency (like a balm) and is supposed to contain lightening ingredients to improve skin tone. Most products marketed in North America as a "BB cream" are simply tinted moisturizers or light foundations. If you want a true BB, make sure you buy it from Asia. I had to take off a lipstick just for the false advertisement. Now about the product itself, it does not give much coverage because it is more of a tinted moisturizer than a foundation. If a person does not have many skin problems and uses concealer, this is just fine. The extra moisture is good for the winter months. It works well with my concealer and powder because it looks less cakey compared to using foundation. Overall, this is a pretty good product and I will buy again.
I purchased this product because it was on sale and I do not like the scents of other St. Ives lotions. The fragrance was very sweet and it went on smoothly, absorbing without being greasy or sticky. It did not fully moisturize my dry winter skin, however, it is not an extra strong lotion and it is to be expected. The biggest problem I have with this product is the pump. The one I purchased was defective and I have to use the pump stick to dispense the lotion. Overall, this is a good product for the price and it is probably best suited for spring and fall.
Treatments -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
belle666 1/26/2013 10:21:00 PM
I would give this three stars if it was a regular acne treatment that did not make the claims that this product did. I find any acne treatment is effective if you catch the blemish in its early stages (in the first couple hours, tiny bump, not red yet) and this treatment is included. However, this does nothing once a pimple has any redness whatsoever. The product did not visibly improve my acne in four hours, but took several days to see any improvement (I couldn't tell if it was the product or natural healing). It did not work for me personally, and I might as well pay half the price for the basic Clearasil treatment instead.
I have tried this in the chocolate-strawberry and really liked it, but since I have combination/acne prone skin and it was Summer I thought I would try this. The smell is very pleasant and it was really cool seeing all the oil/dirt/who knows absorbed from the pores on my nose when this dries. After rinsing, my skin looks brighter and feels softer and smoother. I wouldn't say this makes my pores smaller (I haven't found anything that has yet) and is difficult to rinse off. This is a great buy for $4 CDN, it comes in a large tube that will take a very long time to use up. I will definitely try the other masks by this brand.
I purchased the light brown shade on sale for $5.99 in Canada. This is one of the least expensive hair colours on the market here along with Garnier Belle Color. The kit was just like any home haircolour kit, except the developer bottle was opague, making it difficult to know when the product was mixed thoroughly. There was also less product than most kits, I barely had enough to cover my shoulder-length hair (Those with hair any longer will need two boxes). The formula had a strong alcohol smell which made me worry that I was really drying out my hair. I did like the conditioner which had a lovely scent and made my hair feel smooth after rinsing. My hair was in better condition than after most hair colourings, I'm assuming that this is thanks to the ammonia-free formula. However, the colour went a little too dark (as many brands do) but doesn't seem to be fading much after over a week of washing. If I can get this to fade enough, I will try a shade slightly lighter than this if available. I really want to like this product because it was gentle on my hair and did not leave brassy tones.
I think there are only a couple brands that carry clear mascara/brow gel on its own in Canadian drugstores, Maybelline and now Essence. For $3, you can't go wrong. For brows, only a small amount of product is needed and this does not dispense too much on the brush. It did a very good job at grooming my brows without diluting my penciling and left my brows very soft. Another Essence product that is now a staple in my cosmetics.
This is absolutely the best mascara that I have tried from Avon and certainly one of the best of any brand. I am very disappointed that I haven't seen this in any Avon brochures recently, I'm worried that they discontinued this product. I have pretty short, straight lashes and not just any mascara can fix my problem. This is about as close to a miracle worker a mascara can be. It gave me great length and curl (even more than others that I have used an actual eyelash curler with) with many compliments. And this is the mascara that would often be on sale in a brochure for $2.99! I really hope Avon brings this back without any changes because this has to be one of the best mascaras on the market.
I was quite skeptical when I first got this, thinking it may be a fragrance that is better suited to an older person. That is the gamble with Avon, the scent in the brochure and on the sample never gives you a full preview of what it will be like when you get the real thing. My mother and I have made that mistake, thinking by the description or the sample that we would really like it, then ending up with a full set that we detest. Upon receiving Imari Seduction, it did not smell like the sample, but I still liked it, even though it seemed a little mature for me. I like it, but men LOVE it. Anyone I had a date with or males in general say I smell really good, and that is ultimately the reason why I wear it so often and will repurchase. Another plus is that Avon fragrances are inexpensive (especially when on sale, which is very often), so purchasing the eau de toilette, body lotion, shower gel, powder, etc to layer is very affordable.
