Top/Base Coats -Revlon - Multi-care base and top
rated 2 of 5

Again, not very impressed. The product itself isn't too bad. As a top ocat, it is actually pretty decent - nothing amazing, but it is fairly shiny. It doesn't make polish last incredibly long, a few days and you still get regular tipwear. As a base coat, it again wasn't too bad, however it's not very protective, well not any more than regular polish, and I like to use a protective, strengthening base coat. My real issue with this is the brush. Maybe it's because I'm and OPI junkie and am used to the wide brush, I found the brush to be so thin it's virtually ineffective. It is incredibly hard to pick up a decent amount of polish at a time, and I often find myself needing to actually hold the bottle upside down to even get any polish on the brush. I can never do more than one nail at a time before needing to dip back into the bottle, and sometimes I can't even finish one nail without needing to dip back into the bottle, like when I'm doing my big toenail. For the price that you pay (nearly $27 AUD!) I was expecting a far better product. Wouldn't recommend.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic
rated 5 of 5
bekahh101 2/10/2013 3:51:00 AM

I absolutely love this mascara. The plastic wand is very thin and has tiny little hard bristles coming off each corner of the square-shaped wand, and looks as though it will be very ineffective - that was my first impression. However, I was totally off. Somehow, the miniscule brush manages to deposit a lot of mascara in a single swipe, and manages to catch all the lashes you comb it over. It adds so much length, however it also gives a decent amount of volume - and it only gets clumpy if you apply ridiculous amounts. I use about 3 coats and get amazing length, good volume and minimal clumping. Because of the thin brush design it is also very easy to use on your bottom lashes. I usually can't use mascara without curling my lashes, however I tried this one day without the curler and found it still worked perfectly - in fact, I think it provided better length without the curler! It barely flakes, even after about 12 hours, and doesn't really smudge under my eyes unless I rub at it - and this is the non-waterproof version. At $26 AUD it is a little expensive, however I found my first tube lasted a long time before it started to dry out, and I have been using my second one for about 4 weeks and it still feels like a new mascara. I couldn't love this mascara any more if I tried, you simply must try it.

Foundations -The Body Shop - All-In-One Face Base
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 2/9/2013 6:33:00 AM

I really, really like this foundation, however I do have a few small issues with it. So let's start with the good: I've only ever used this as a pressed powder, dry with the Body Shop's mineral foundation brush, so I can't comment on how it performs when you use the damp sponge however as a powder it has a fantastic finish. It feels incredibly light on the skin, so light it doesn't feel like I'm wearing foundation. The coverage builds fairly quickly however it doesn't go orange or cakey, 045 is the perfect shade for me. It has a very natural looking finish however it does a really good job of covering my minor acne and redness. After using a tiny little bit of Natio liquid concealer over pimples and under-eye redness with this over the top, my skin looks virtually flawless. It lasts all day with pretty much no touch up required, and my oily skin experiences minimal shine. My only complaint is that I seemed to run through my first one terribly quickly. I probably used it about 3-4 times a week, maybe more some weeks, but I didn't use it every day. I hit pan after about 4 weeks of use, and after I hit the pan it started disappearing incredibly fast and only lasted about 1.5 more weeks. It also started to crack once I hit pan, and the whole thing ended up crumbling as though I had dropped it! (Which I hadn't.) Considering as I had paid $35 for it, this annoyed me, however the foundation is such good quality that I decided to repurchase anyway. Would recommend.

Polishes -OPI - Do You Lilac It?
rated 5 of 5
bekahh101 12/16/2012 2:37:00 AM

I absolutely LOVE this colour. I am a massive OPI fan, and I think this polish has the best formula I've ever seen, even for OPI standards. It applies like an absolute dream - no streaks at all and completely opaque on the first coat. It applies so smoothly and stays that way after it dries. As with all OPI, it doesn't chip for 5-7 days (with base and top cpat.) I adore this polish, purple is my favourite colour and this is a really beautiful shade of it. Everyone should try this at least once. The only downside for me is, as with all OPI, how expensive it is (20 AUD is the average price of OPI here in Australia) however it is well worth the price.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion
rated 5 of 5
bekahh101 12/11/2012 10:15:00 PM

I switched from the Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream to this a few months ago, and I must say I'm still very impressed. I was originally going to buy this instead of the seaweed one however the SA talked me into trying the seaweed one as it tends to be a bit less drying than tea tree, however I found it not quite oil-controlling enough. I changed to this one and found it very light, cooling and refreshing as soon as you apply it. It absorbs very easily and does not leave a visible residue, nor can you feel a residue. My skin still feels very clean after applying this. I don't find it very drying, however I occasionally (a.k.a. almost never) get very small dry patches near my nose, and I find that if I apply just a little bit more than usual of this near my nose they go away within a day or two, so whilst it does an excellent job of oil control it is also a good moisturiser. No problems with the packaging, I like the flip-top squeeze tube, however I would like to see a larger size become available. The price is decent considering it is a Body Shop product, however like all their products I would like to see it a little lower. Overall, I am very happy with the job this moisturiser does for my oily skin and have already repurchased more than once.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Neroli Jasmine EdT
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 5/13/2012 4:32:00 AM

I really love this scent. The Body Shop perfumes are one of my real weaknesses, I own more than I care to admit. This one is not a particularly extravagant scent, however it is a beautiful one for the daytime. It has a fresh, floral and feminine fragrance, and it not overpowering in the slightest. This is a gorgeous scent for office hours and daytime events, however probably not a real party scent.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
rated 2 of 5
bekahh101 5/13/2012 4:28:00 AM

I do like this product, however it is not perfect. I have fairly oily skin, and I felt that my skin was becoming dry beneath the oiliness. So I went to the Body Shop in search of an oily-skin friendly moisturiser. As my skin care products all come from the Body Shop's Tea Tree range, I went straight for a tea tree moisturiser. However, the sales assistant advised I try this one instead, as it would have more of a balance between moisturising and oil control, whereas tea tree would be more focused on oil eradication and may become slightly drying. I have found that this product has lived up to the moisturing claim, however I am not totally sold on the oil control side of things. It has not made my skin any oilier, but it could be a bit more mattifying. Having said all that, it is a nice product, a pump bottle would be more convenient than a tub, and as with most Body Shop products, feels a touch overpriced. however I will repurchase. EDIT: I decided this product was not doing a good enough job of oil control, despite it being a good moisturiser, and changed to the Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion which does a better job of oil control, is more affordable and has better packaging. Original rating of 4 going down to 2, however bear in mind I do have quite oily skin and I still think this would be a good product for those with less oily skin. .

Eye Makeup Remover -Simple - Conditioning Eye Make-Up Remover
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 6/12/2011 5:42:00 AM

My bottle doesn't actually say 'conditioning' on it, but everything else seems exactly the same so I'm sure its the same product. Overall, it does a pretty good job. I use non-waterproof mascara and pencil eyeliner, and it removes most of it. I use it before I shower, and it gets rid of just about all my makeup. It does leave very faint marks under my eyes, but because I shower right after using it my eyes look perfectly normal afterwards. It does sting a bit if you get into your eyes, however as long as you keep your eye closed until you take the cotton bud/pad off, you won't get it in your eye. I use this stuff most days, and hardly ever get it in my eye. If you do, it's very easy to rinse out with cool water. Probably not the very best one out there, but it definitely does what it claims (not sure about waterproof mascaras, haven't tried that) and it is very affordable. Recommend.

Treatments -The Body Shop - Almond Oil Nail and Cuticle Treatment (click pen)
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 6/8/2011 10:17:00 PM

Before I start reviewing this product, I will just saw that I have some of the worst fingernails in the world. I used to bite them when I was younger, and they still have trouble growing, so they are still quite short and rather weak. I was using hand an nail cream to moisturise my hands and strengthen my nails, but I wasn't really seeing much improvement in my nails so when I saw this in the Body Shop I thought I would try it, and I ended up really liking it! It has the same delicious sweet, nutty smell as the almond oil hand cream. The packaging is really good, very easy to apply the oil and twisting the pen to get more is also very easy. You just have to be careful not to use too much on one nail because it feels a bit yuck if you have too much on. If you control it well though, it will cover the whole nail and cuticle and leaves both feeling moisturised. As with most Body Shop products, price could be a little lower, but the product is still good enough that it'[s worth it. Recommended :)

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Almond Oil Daily Hand & Nail Cream
rated 5 of 5
bekahh101 6/2/2011 4:47:00 AM

I love this hand cream :) It smells so nice for starters, like a really nice sweet nutty smell :) It's not the thickest hand cream around, so if you have extremely dry hands it might not be the best product for you (if that's you, I can recommend Hemp hand protector by the Body Shop as well.) Even though it's not super thick, it still does a good job of keeping my hands soft. I use it once or twice a day, before bed and sometimes in the morning. My hands are pretty soft anyway, but if I don't use hand cream for a few days they start feeling a bit dry so this is really good for maintaining smooth hands. The price isn't actually too bad for the Body Shop, so it's worth the money ($18 Australian.) Highly recommend!

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop - Love Gloss
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 6/1/2011 5:28:00 AM

I really like this lip gloss. I have the Raspberry colour. I hate the feeling of sticky lip gloss, so I usually stick to lip balms because they feel nicer. However this one doesn't feel sticky at all, nor does it rub off soon after application like a lot of others! I usually wear it over a lip balm because I love looking after my lips and I'm used to not being able to wear lip gloss without balm underneath, but this one can actually be used on its own! It smells nice, and also doesn't taste too bad (for a lip gloss!) A tad pricey as the tube isn't huge, however it is well worth the money and is superior to most other products in its category.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Vicks- VapoRub
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 6/1/2011 4:39:00 AM

This is one of those products I have used since before I can remember, literally. My parents used to make me use it if I had a cold when I was little haha, but I hated the smell. I still use it these days when I have a cold, I can tolerate the smell now, in fact I actually kind of like it! Just rub a tiny little bit into the skin under your nose to clear it, after a night or two it will go completely back to normal. I don't use it for anything else, but I'm sure you could use it on little bites or scratches or something. Clears blocked noses perfectly!

Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Lip Butter
rated 4 of 5
bekahh101 5/31/2011 6:07:00 AM

I actually own this in the Dark Chocolate and Cherry flavour, but this is the only one I could find, however a friend of mine owns this chocolate/peppermint one and it smells really good. The chocolate/cherry smells amazing as well, it smells just like a Cherry Ripe haha, so good! It is very moisturising, leaves your lips feeling really good. The packaging is fine, and it's so cheap. Love it!

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment
rated 5 of 5
bekahh101 5/31/2011 6:02:00 AM

Oh my god, what a little miracle worker! Most people assume this is only a lip balm, which is what I use it for mostly, but its definitely more than that. If you chafing, burns, or those annoying little blister things on the very back of your heels that I get after playing netball lol, this stuff will moisturise the area, and make it feel much nicer. Little burns and things will heal much quicker if you use this. As a lip balm, it moisturises so well and keeps your lips feeling nice for an incredibly long time after application. Smells very nice but not very strong. I use the tube style for a lip balm, and have the pot style one for everything else. Dirt cheap, I feel like I should be paying more for something of this quality! 110% recommend.

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Foundation brush
rated 5 of 5
bekahh101 5/21/2011 9:27:00 AM

I LOVE THIS BRUSH! I bought this not long after buying the Body Shop oil free foundation because I though using a brush would give me a nicer finish. I was not wrong! When I very first used I was worried because I could see the streaks from the brush, however I brushed over them and they disappeared. I tried putting the foundation on the back of my hand, but I found most of it was staying on my hand and I was wasting it, so I just squeezed it straight onto the brush and it works fine. When I finish using it, I have an even coverage without any streaks. The actual quality of the brush is fantastic, the bristles are so strong but still so soft on the skin! I, like nearly everyone else on here, have not seen a single hair fall. It is a little expensive for a brush, but it's so worth it, it will last me such a long time because it's such good quality! I clean it after use because the foundation stays in there, just use a tiny bit of tea tree shampoo because it is antibacterial and will clean it properly, rinse in cool water, stand up to dry (the base of the brush in completely flat!) and the next day it looks as good as new again. Love this brush, if for some reason I need to repurchase which I highly doubt I most definitely will! No complaints!
