Shampoo -Matrix - Biolage - normalizing shampoo

I have really oily hair and this shampoo is one of two of the better shampoos I've used to help the oiliness. It doesn't weigh my hair down and leaves a nice subtle smell as well.

Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - MASCARA SINGULIER
beesknees 7/6/2011 7:02:00 AM
This mascara was really disappointing. Considering the high price tag, I was expecting a lot more. Even with 4 coats, it didn't do as good a job as my usual mascara and after 6 or so hours, it would flake and smudge under my eyes. The only positive is that it gave a slight curl to my lashes.

Treatments -L'Oreal - Professionnel Serie Expert Absolut repair
beesknees 4/25/2011 1:07:00 AM
I've been using this treatment on and off for the last 10 years. You don't need to use a lot of product as it's very thick and concentrated. It leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny and I will probably re-purchase again at times in the future. I buy the huge tubs of this as it works out cheaper.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Knight Divine
beesknees 4/25/2011 1:02:00 AM
Nice colour, but it's hard to blend and a bit chalky. Due to it's texture, this shadow isn't one where you can just apply a sheer wash if you feel like it - it looks patchy if you try to do that. It needs to be packed on heavily to get a good look. I most likely wouldn't re-purchase as it's not a HG.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Phloof! (frost; Hollidazzle)
beesknees 4/25/2011 12:58:00 AM
I love Phloof! as a highlighter for under the brow bone. I wear it nearly every day as I find it's a very versatile colour that goes with everything. It's also the only pale eyeshadow colour that shows up well on my NC15 skin and I will repurchase once I run out.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Retrospeck (Lustre)
beesknees 4/25/2011 12:53:00 AM
I bought this eyeshadow a while ago as I was looking for a cool-coloured Gold and this seemed the closest to what I was after. It's an ok colour but it's not very pigmented, which means there's not much colour pay-off on the lid, even after packing it on. It's not very smooth or buttery and I find it a bit chalky. I'll keep searching for a better gold - both colour and texture wise.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Mood Swing Lip Gloss
beesknees 4/24/2011 11:51:00 PM
I tried this on with a disposable applicator at the store and it looked like a really nice, pearly, pale pink on my lips which I loved, so I bought it. It was the same price as my MAC glosses (AUD$32) and I should have just stuck with MAC. I wore this lipgloss to work and it was whiteish-pink when I put it on. When I arrived at work I saw that my lips had become more pink but still nice. About an hour in to the work day, I went to the bathroom and was shocked at the colour on my lips. It was an extremely bright, garish fuchsia and I felt really embarrassed that I'd had lips that were not only very bright but a gross colour at that. I put clear lip balm on to to try and mute the colour but it didn't really work. I also noticed that my index finger, which I'd used to touch up my application, had also been stained pink. This gloss doesn't remain shiny on the lips for very long either. Rather, it just stains them a horrid shade of pink that continues to darken during the day. Just to make sure it wasn't a one-off bad day, I tried this again on the weekend but had the same results. I won't ever use it again. What a waste of money.

Liquid -Bourjois - 10hr Sleep Effect
beesknees 4/24/2011 11:41:00 PM
I haven't used drugstore foundations for 10+ years but thought that maybe the formulas had improved a lot and wanted to give one a go - mostly because I was sick of paying a lot of money for foundation. I looked all over the store for something that would match my skin colour (NC15) and this foundation was the only one that was a perfect match. It was still very expensive for a drugstore foundation (AUD$32) but still, I thought I'd give it a go. However, all it has done is reminded me why I *don't* buy low-end makeup, especially foundation. The coverage was extremely minimal, even after I layered it 4 times. It looked like I had no foundation on and it did nothing to minimise some slight redness (old acne spots) or even out my skintone. Whatever I did have on didn't last more than a few hours either. I did like the smell though, it was refreshing, and the texture of the foundation was nice and it's great that it has a pump applicator (though it's quite flimsy and cheap type of plastic).

Eyeliner -Inglot - Eyeliner Gel
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:53:00 PM
I have this in black (#77) and LOVE it. I previously used Bobbi Brown and MAC gel liners, but the Inglot one is the best. It stays on all day and night, goes on smoothly and I can make it look really intense or more natural looking (depending on the technique I use) and is a really deep, true black. I'm now on to my second tub of it and will continue to re-purchase. My first tub lasted me about a year with daily use until the remaining product became a bit too dry to use, but for the price, I really don't care. My BB and MAC ones dried out earlier and so I lost more product, plus they were more expensive.

Shampoo -TiGi - Rockaholic Livin the Dream Sulfate-Free Shampoo
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:47:00 PM
I wanted to try this shampoo as it is sulfate-free and I liked the previous sulfate-free shampoos from TiGi that I'd tried. Unfortunately I didn't like this one. It weighed down my hair and left it oily and limp and I had to stop using it after a couple of weeks cos I couldn't stand it any more.

Shampoo -Redken - Body Full
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:44:00 PM
A nice, light shampoo that doesn't weigh hair down too much. I didn't repurchase this as it didn't clean my oily hair as well as I like, but I think this would be good for someone with normal (non-oily) hair, who wants a little bounce.

Shampoo -TiGi - Superstar
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:41:00 PM
I bought this shampoo because it is sulfate-free and good for volumising. As I have oily hair, I've found that a lot of volumising shampoos tend to work in helping the greasiness. I loved this shampoo but after a few months I found it no longer effective, so switched to something else. Again, after a few months, I went back to this as I remembered the good results I had gotten initially. I noticed that they have changed the formula of this shampoo (there is a sticker with the ingredients listed on it, placed over the top of the old ingredients list that's printed on the actual bottle). I really wish they hadn't changed the formula because I now hate it. The first time I washed my hair with the new formula really put me off. My hair didn't feel clean afterwards and there was no volumising effect like I used to get with this shampoo. I won't be wasting more money on trying this again in the future (it's expensive where I live). Also, it always used to take me longer to blow-dry my hair when I'd use this shampoo but that wouldn't bother me if I liked the results.

Shampoo -Redken - Hair Cleansing Cream
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:33:00 PM
I bought this shampoo as I need something that will clean my oily hair really well. It is a pretty good shampoo and left my hair less oily the next day than other shampoos do. As seems to happen to me though, my hair gets used to shampoos and after a while they aren't as effective at cleaning the grease from my hair and leave it sticky even 12 hours or so after washing it. I would definitely go back to this shampoo though and try it again. I wish it wasn't so expensive here though.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Drama Clean refreshing shampoo
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:30:00 PM
I don't normally use supermarket shampoos, however, I was getting desperate for something that would help clean my hair as I had a lot of oily build-up. I tried about 6 different salon shampoos within a few weeks, which did nothing but waste a lot of money. This shampoo was pretty good at cleaning the oils from my hair and is one of the shampoos that has left my hair clean for the longest. It's still oily the next day, but less so. Nice fragrance as well and doesn't weigh down the hair. I used about 4 bottles of this shampoo and am now on to something else as my hair got used to it and it wasn't cleaning as well as it used to, but I think that's just my scalp and not the fault of the shampoo. I would go back to this shampoo in the future and alternate it. Great price too.

Shampoo -LUSH - Squeaky Green
beesknees 4/24/2011 9:22:00 PM
I bought this shampoo bar to try and help my hair which gets oily the day after washing (and sometimes even the same night as it's been washed). I was excited to try the product after reading the reviews on MUA but was really disappointed with the results on my hair. Not only did it do absolutely nothing to help prevent the oiliness, it actually felt worse. My hair didn't feel as clean as I can get it with other shampoos but it also made my ends very dry. I persisted with this shampoo for about a week but gave up. My hair used to be (bottle) blonde however I dyed it back to dark brown about a year ago and my colour faded a LOT after using this shampoo for only a week.
