Makeup Brushes -Laura Geller - EyeRimz Brush
beemoody 3/17/2011 7:08:00 AM
I was excited to see the brush reviewed seperately! I LOVE this brush, and yes, i received with an eye rimz from QVC a few years ago - it is still going strong! I really love LG's eye rimz - think they are a great unique idea and have lots of pigment. Mostly, I use this brush with a pressed powder eye shadow. Though, it even worked pretty good with BE loose powdery e/s but they aren't my preference. This brush creates the easiest above the eye line ever and i love that you can use it wet or dry. VERY easy to use and i do use it almost every day. Definitely recommend wholeheartedly!!!!

Treatments (Eye) -Clarins - Advanced Extra-Firming Eye Contour Serum
beemoody 3/9/2011 7:43:00 PM
OK, told the SA that I'm on a search for the perfect eye cream which would help with my dark circles and fine lines...heard good things about Clarins.....tried so many eye creams...would Clarins be THE ONE? I can report that I bought this about a month ago and have used it religiously day and night AND it is definitely NOT my HG. I like the tube with the pump dispenser. I like the consistency - a gel with a touch of cream. Quickly and easily sinks in, but it does feel a little tight when it dries at first - doesn't bother me though....and my powder concealor goes on easily overtop. To be fair, I also bought the multi-active night cream (in blue tub) and have been using that too. So together, i have seen some minimizing of my fine lines like between my eyes above my nose, and on either side of my nose and mouth. I've noticed my smile lines are looking pretty good. HOWEVER, no change to the dark circles at all and I'm not willing to shell out $60 USD at a major dept store for a product that doesn't totally do what i want it to. My search continues......

Moisturizers -Clarins - Multi Active Night Cream
beemoody 3/6/2011 9:30:00 PM
Have been using this Nt Cream (in blue tub) since the beginning of Feb 2011 and wanted to give myself a chance to really see how it works before writing a review. Needed a new Nt cream since my Lancome ran out - read really good things about Clarins, so wanted to try it out. I went to a major department store in the USA and asked for some samples but they said they didn't give them out - i was about to walk away when they asked me to sit down to talk about my skin. Pretty quick they had me sitting down, provided me with a bottle of water, and started a 'make over' on me...Anyway, i wound up buying a lip liner and lipstick (b/c i really did love them!) and this night cream and the advanced Extra-firming Eye Contour serum ($60 USD)...the things i was really interested in to begin with. Anyway, while doing my make up a 'skin care specialist' asked me about my skin and said the ones in their line that matched my early 30s normal/dry skin was this nt cream and eye serum, which i purchased. They then offered me samples of some other products...which actually angered me a little bit since that was the 1st question i asked. My point of this is, i felt like they were nice but a little pushy and definitely were not honest about the samples. To get to my real review - i am liking the night cream - it was $58 USD, a little high in price BUT I'm worth it :) It is white, a thin to medium consistency and doesn't have much of a fragrance, although Clarins stuff does all have the same light fresh scent. You barely need to put any on - use a very small amt of product so it will last for awhile, but i really really hate tubs - it just feels unhygenic even if i know my hands are clean. It sinks in pretty quick and I have not had any break outs or adverse reactions. I'm using in conjuction with the eye serum described above and I do feel quite moisturized at nights - and very fresh, clean and hydrated in the mornings as well. not sure if this will be too thick for the summer.... Specifically, i feel that the serum and moisturizer have helped with some fine lines around my eyes and between my eyes above my nose and those lines on either side of your mouth. I did not have a big problem, just some fine lines, but i do think those lines are lessened. Overall, like the products i purchased (yes, i like all of them), and i will likely purchase other Clarins stuff, but i am a bit turned off by the sneak attack make-over and their stingyness with the samples to begin with. They sell Clarins at Sephora and other stores so i could always go there.

Moisturizers -Murad - Essential-C Night Moisture
beemoody 1/24/2011 7:14:00 AM
Like the others have said, it's nice, not too thick, but thick enough for nighttime and winter. has a very strong scent of "vitamin C" so if that bothers you, don't even bother trying it. it didn't do anything special or great for me...also did NOT break me out or cause any oiliness to my combo dry skin. if someone gave it to me for free, i would use it! haha

Styling Products -Wen by Chaz Dean - Cucumber Aloe Styling Cream
beemoody 1/24/2011 7:12:00 AM
So my sister introduced me to WEN cleansing conditioner (in the new Pomegranate) for Christmas. Immediately after Christmas, I cut my hair pretty short and got it colored, so figured it would be a good time to try out a new regime. The cleansing conditioner is very different from normal shampoo - and that's why it is awesome....it came with a big describing what it is made of and how to use it. You also should watch Chaz Dean explain it on his instructional DVD or when he is on QVC or go to his website. He's soooo nice and explains in detail the products, how they work and WHY they are so good for your hair. Anyway, i tried the styling cream from a friend who didn't want it anymore. I avoided the root and put on the shafts down as best i could following the direction on the back of the bottle. I DO NOT like the smell, but the rest is all good! Immediately I felt a softness to my hair. All through blow drying, could feel how soft and light my hair felt. Even got the confirmation from my sister that my hair looked and felt different - for the better! :) I slept on it and this morning my hair looks and feels amazing, soft, pretty, with volume. Wish it smelled better, but i dont' smell any residue scent this morning on it. I will defintiely continue to use and can't wait to try some of his other products out!

Moisturizers -Lancome - Bienfait Multi-Vital SPF 30
beemoody 2/21/2010 2:19:00 PM
While Macy's was having its GWP, I decided to buy this day cream on the recommendation of a friend. I really needed something moisturizing and softening for the winter. I do think it is pricey, but there are so many more expensive moisturizers out there, that i think it is worth it. I have the 1.7 oz HIgh Potency Daily Moisturizing Cream with SPF 30 for Normal to Dry skin. Not sure yet if this will be too heavy for the summer, but its been absoultey perfect for the winter months. I really feel like my skin is just glowing - moreso than at any other time during the last year. This cream sinks right in, and makes my skin feel supple and smooth. Doesn't dry out by mid-day, and doesn't make my normal to dry skin oily by the afternoon either. Also no burning or white caste from the SPF. I also haven't felt my eyes burn at all, which happens when I get spf anywhere near them usually. I'm interested to see if this will be too much for the summer for my skin, which becomes much less dry at that time of year. Might have to switch to a more lotion consistency. Either way, will continue to use this and check out some of Lancome products too!

Moisturizers -Lancome - High Resolution - Refill 3x

Shanstuff did a great review for this item. I also recieved as a GWP, so I dont' know how much the large jar of this costs, but I assume it is a lot :) Really like the lite consistency and the ease with which it goes on. Smooth and sinks right in. Feel like its a good make up base, and I've actually stopped using foundation every day b/c I feel like my skin looks so darn good (if I do say so myself!)! Feel like this isn't just moisturizer but a part of a larger skin care regime that will really aid in my complextion long term. I actually like the scent, which I feel is pretty light and clean-smelling. I'm really happy with the sample size (a .5 oz jar) b/c it will last long enough for me to really really tell if it is worth the price of a whole jar. I'm sure it will last for quite awhile.

Treatments -Patricia Wexler MD Dermatology - MMPi Skin Regenerating Serum

I also rec'd this as a free sample little jar from BBW - which honestly will last me for awhile since you only need like a dab on the tip of your finger with this product. It is a pink silky substance that sort of glides onto or into your skin. I put it on under my moisturizer and usually as a make up primer b/c it makes your skin so smooth and seemless. Althoguh it does make my skin super smooth, I will not purchase this. I think the full size tub is like $60 USD or something extravagant like that which is too much for something that doesn't make that much of a difference for me personally.

I've had this for months and been using maybe once a week and it really does make my skin glow. I've tried a ton of exfoliators and this is one of the best. The granuales are so tiny you barely feel them till you start rubbing them in. My skin has not had an adverse reaction at all and I do think it cleans out my pores (especialy the slightly larger ones around the nose and cheeks). The liquidy gel it comes with sinks right in, but I still need to use another moisturizer over it. I think the full size products were about $65 USD, which I found expensive. But the product is right on and it works well for me. I'll probably re-purchase.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Graphite Shimmer Ink
beemoody 9/28/2008 5:03:00 PM
I ordered this from QVC as part of an Easy Pay about 2-3 months ago - it came with the Chocolate Shimmer and Graphite Shimmer and a small brush. Very cute package from QVC BTW. I reviewed the Chocolate separately. LOVE the color - a slight sheen or imperceptible glow to the not-quite-black color - could make it really dark with a thick line or smoke it out or do it thin. Whatever you do, just do it quick b/c this product dries very quickly. I also LOVE the consistency and ease of application - I'm still working on getting my upper lash line perfect though. Oh and it has great staying power! The Chocolate is kind of drying out already, but the Graphite is just fine. If anyone has successfully "revived" their gel e/l, please let me know how. If the chocolate doesn't dry out totally and is still wearable, I will definitely buy other colors, but its too expensive to be re-purchasing if the product dries out. I'd recommend highly! Update march 2011: i stopped using this awhile ago last year b/c it dryed out and i was unsuccessful in re-viving it, even though some nice ladies emailed me with ideas. These are too expensive to keep re-buying when i know they will dry out before i am finished with the product.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel eyeliner in Chocolate Shimmer
beemoody 9/28/2008 4:48:00 PM
About 2 or 3 months ago, QVC had an Easy Pay deal on two BB gel e/l (this Chocolate Shimmer and Graphite Shimmer) and a mini brush. I had read the MUA reviews before and figured I would give it a try considering most liked these. This is my first "gel" type liner so I have no basis of comparison, but I LOVE IT! I have seriously not used any of my other e/l since I got these two. It's definitely a chocolate color on me. The "shimmer" is minimal just enough to give it a pretty sheen which I like and make it different from most other e/l IMO. It could be deepened or it could be thinner depending on how much you put on or how thick of a line you do. To make it smoky I usually put a lot on with the brush and then just use a QTIP really quickly to smoke it out. I've just used the brush that came with it so far - which is cute (and tiny) and works well, but I may pick up a thinner brush like some of the other ladies recommend. I'll be honest, I have not mastered the upper lash line yet. It takes me a lot longer to do that, but the lower lash line is a breeze. Out of the two, the Chocolate seems like it is already drying out, but still useable. I'm wondering if anyone found a way to "re-hydrate" the product to make it good as new??? If so, please email me and let me know. I'm not at that point yet but it looks like it is headed there. The Graphite is just fine though - still as good as the day I opened it - I will review separately b/c I love that one too. This product had fantastic staying power! With my watery allergy-prone eyes, I find it lasts all day and I still need to take it off with make up remover at the end of the night - soap and water does NOT do the trick alone. BUT it dries very quickly, so if you need to do a correction or want to smudge it out, do it QUICKLY. Would highly recommend for wearability and ease of application. I will purchase other colors IF this one doesn't dry out totally. It's just too much money to spend on something that isn't going to last. update march 2011: i stopped using this a long time ago - just getting around to updating now - these totally dryed out for me and were no longer useable. i can't pay this much money for a product that won't last. i have so many other eyeliners that don't dry out and that i like, this seems like a waste after the fact.

Bronzers -Laura Geller - Bronze-N-Brighten
beemoody 9/26/2008 12:11:00 AM
I have been looking for the perfect bronzer for years - the search never ends. I really do like this one though! I bought the backed basics collection - with the blush and brighten in berry and the balance n brighten and a brush (which was very stiff and didnt blend well). I've tried this bronzer several times and have had good results when using the BE flawless radiance brush to apply - all other brushes seem to harsh. the colors include a light pink, pale pink, taupe, beige, lite brown. It could even be used as a blush. I didn't break out and it didn't leave my face oily. Its got a silky smooth feel to it and a good consistency which means it will last forever. Look at yourself in the natural light to se if you applied too heavy. Liked this product over all and would say try for yourself!!!!

Powder -Laura Geller - Balance-n-Brighten
beemoody 9/25/2008 11:44:00 PM
I purchased the LG baked basics set from Sephora for around $50 which contains the balance n brighten (bnb), blush n brighten in berry and bronze n brighten .06 oz containers, which all come in little compacts with a half size mirror inside. The containers are in a MAC-like packaging and the size in ample. I personally won't need to re-buy any of the three for a long time. it also comes with a brush in a little holder, it found it hard, severe and stiff. Did not like or intend to use until it is broken in. I usually don't use any foundation except a light sweep of BE mineral MU if needed. However, I've been trying the bnb for awhile now and I do like it. Its a swirl of beige, nude, lite brownish. The coverage is pretty heavy if used with the wrong brush, however, I've been using the BE flawless Radiance brush and its been working great w/ lite buildable coverage. I do like it but probably won't re-buy. Worth a try and glad I bought the kit.

Blush -Laura Geller - Berry Blush N Brighten
beemoody 9/25/2008 11:25:00 PM
I actually love MAC blushes, but I wanted to try something new. I bought the LG baked basics collection for $50 USD - it included mini (.06 oz, which sounds small but will probably last me a year or more since I won't wear it everyday) versions of the balance n brighten, bronze n brighten and blush n brighten (bnb) in BERRY. The packaging is very similar to MAC blushes if you are familiar with that which I like and the writing on the bottom to ID the product easily in your MU bag was big and clear. First off, I like (not love) all the products and will continue to use to see how I can incorporate with my other make up. The kit came with a brush (similar to a small kabuki) which i do not like so far - very hard and stiff. it did not evenly distribute the MU and it just didn't feel good on my skin. It did come in a cute tiny carry case though that i liked. Specifically, my berry bnb has iridescent light pink, bronze and plum colored shades in it. I use a BE flawless radiance brush to apply b/c you really have to apply with a light hand otherwise you will look like a clown. i guess this is good b/c it means the blush is highly pigmented and it will last a long time - but just make sure to look at yourself in natural light if possible before you go out to make sure you don't look stupid. The product lasts on my cheeks all day and it maintains that rosy blush with a golden glow I was looking for. I've also used as an e/s and it looked very pretty. I do like this product and intend to keep the kit, however, i will never need to repurchase b/c i won't use this often enough. I'll review the other products too.

Cleansers -Patricia Wexler MD Dermatology - Universal Anti-Aging Cleanser with skin regenerating MMPi technology
beemoody 9/13/2008 10:21:00 PM
I bought several of the Pat Wex products several months ago and have been waiting to review. Honestly, I really didn't find anything special about this cleanser overall. i hated the packaging. It didn't have an odor and wasn't overpowering though. I also didn't break out which has happened to me everytime i've switched from the Clinique cleanser i usually use. I think it was about $16 USD, so it wasn't too expensive. I'm not going to rebuy. OH and it totally DID NOT take off any makeup (such as it claims) so don't believe it will.
