Powder -Alima - Satin Matte Mineral Foundation

I spent about $20 on samples only to find they don't have any shade that matches my skintone at all. Neutrals were too pink. Warms too yellow. I am have golden peachy tan skin right now and none of the colors matched. What's more, the coverage just didn't work for me. It was a bit more drier than what I am used to. I have acne scars and redness and I really had to use a lot to get any coverage, and it didn't seem to last too long either. I compared the level of coverage and creaminess on my hand just to test it against what I have been using (Everyday Minerals semi matte) and Alima was drier/chalkier, and it didn't cover as well either. I will say that if you need light coverage and need something a bit drier (say for summer esp for oily skin) this would be a good option.

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Prime Time
rated 2 of 5
beca108 6/3/2007 10:01:00 PM

This did not work well for me, sunk into my pores instead of filling them in and I was very oily after an hour or so. This is similar to Smashbox primer but not quite as bad. Smashbox primer made me very greasy and really sunk into my pores like nobody's business. The only product that has worked for hiding my pores is DHC Velvet Coat and even it seems to fail after several hours of wear, but it has lasted the longest of all the primers I have tried. In case you wonder what type of makeup I wear, it is MMU by everyday minerals.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Premium Powder Brush

Hated it from time I opened the package. Premium, I would say not. I have had better brushes from Target. I promptly gave this one away to someone else. Nothing good to say about it at all.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Sooshco Baby Kabuki Brush [DISCONTINUED]

I hated this brush. Not fluffy at all. I didn't like this from the start. I use it in my purse as touchups with the finishing powder, but I am about ready to pitch it and buy something else.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Double Ended Eye Shadow Brush

I really liked this eye shadow brush. I didn't have much problems with shedding at all. However, you can buy it cheaper at Walgreen's for $5, brand name Perfection.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Brush

I like this foundation brush but don't use it for applying all over foundation. I use it for concealing larger areas on my cheeks and forehead that need extra coverage. Also I have found that you can buy almost exact same brush (dual head brush) at Walgreens for $10 (brand is Perfection) with the same size as EDM's and then a smaller concealer brush at the end which I prefer over EDM's also.

Powder -Isadora - Mineral Powder Foundation - 02 Light Rose
rated 2 of 5

PROS: Didn't feel like anything on my face, no makeup feel. CONS: Didn't look like there was anything on my face. No coverage. I would not buy this again. I was hoping this would replace my everyday minerals b/c it is a pain to order and many times my order is messed up and it has taken weeks for EDM to send my exchange and I always have to follow up with them. This product is worse than BE in my opinion. At least I could tell BE was doing something for my complexion whereas I layered this carefully and could not see any difference in covering my redness, it was like I hadn't put anything on at all. Also like BE, this also has bismuth oxychloride, the stuff that many are allergic to and makes my skin burn occasionally, usually when I am sweaty. It is not cheap for a drugstore product around $15 at Walgreens and I promptly returned this. Don't bother with this product unless you have close to perfect skin but why bother at all then?

Mascara -Rimmel - Volum' Eyes
rated 1 of 5
beca108 12/26/2006 11:31:00 PM

What I really like in a mascara is its ability to lengthen and/or thicken. Pretty standard stuff. Anyhoo, this stuff is just awful. One layer and I had instant thickened lashes, but more along the lines, of say Tammy Faye Baker, comes to mind to describe my end result. Lashes clumped together with goopy mascara. I couldn't wash it off fast enough. Gave it a second go, b/c hey even my favorite mascara has its unexplanable bad days. I got the same result even being more careful than the 1st try, major tarantula eyes. Yuck!

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Premium Kabuki Brush [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5

I really like this brush. Much softer than the BE kabuki brush. I haven't noticed too much shedding at all either. I've never met a brush that didn't shed a little anyways, so this seems pretty good for the price (bought the kit of 5 for $24). I would buy this again, but it has a lifetime guarantee, and hopefully I don't need to buy another one for a while.
