Treatments -TRESemme - Nourishing Rituals Protein Renewal Creme
beberocket 7/3/2012 12:48:00 AM
I have super fine, thin hair. Usually, if I use a product like this it will weigh my hair down and make it a greasy mess the next day. That isn't the case with this product. I use it once a week, which seems to work well. My hair has never been in better condition since I began using this and the Split End shampoo and leave-in conditioner. I can't believe how effective this drugstore line is for my hair. I see more results with Tresemme' than more expensive salon products.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Black
beberocket 8/5/2007 1:44:00 PM
I bought this product to use for tightlining my upper lashline. I've found it flakes a bit and transfers to my lower lashline very quickly. It also smears underneath my lower lashes by the end of the day, just by tightlining my upper lashline! (?) What Smashbox attempted to do with Jet Set, L'Oreal HIP has done much better with their new cream eyeliners (the ones in the pots).

Styling Products -Sexy Hair Concepts - Big Sexy Hair - Spray and Play Hairspray
beberocket 8/5/2007 1:39:00 AM
This hairspray definitely offers a firm hold. It held the spiral curls in my hard-to-curl hair extensions very well. Sadly, it also left them looking very fake, crunchy, and unable to move around at all. I kept using it, just less of it (even though I wasn't crazy about it), because it is so expensive. A few days later, I began to notice a nasty film on everything in my bathroom. The film was a coating from using this hairspray. Then, to top it all off, it started making my skin break out. I have gone back to using Sebastian Shaper hairspray for a lighter hold and a bit of Aussie Freeze Spray for when I want more of a hold.

Polishes -Milani - Cherry Pie
beberocket 7/27/2006 11:30:00 PM
On my skintone, Cherry Pie is a beautiful deep blueish/plummy red. When I used it for a pedicure, it went on smoothly, dried quickly, and it lasted for 2 weeks with no chips at all! I love Milani's colors and always have to check them out. A fun, cheap buy.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice in Berry Shuffle LE
beberocket 7/26/2006 12:35:00 PM
You know how when summer rolls around, you get an itch for summery colors . . coral, bright oranges, popsicle red, and Barbie pink? Well this gloss scratched my itch for Barbie pink quite nicely. It's quite pigmented for such a cheap gloss. When I use my L'Oreal clear lip liner with it, it's stays as long as one would expect a gloss to stay on my lips. Berry Shuffle gives me the "baby lips" look. (I'm butterscotch blonde with green eyes and medium skin tone). I like to wear this gloss when I'm not wearing a whole lot of makeup, then it looks very sweet and fresh. The smell is divine, like cotton candy.

Top/Base Coats -New York Color - Extra Shiny Top Coat
beberocket 6/28/2006 11:21:00 PM
I can't believe how good this stuff is, considering how cheap it is. When I use this over my polish, I can get an average of 6 days out of a manicure and 3 weeks out of a pedicure. It dries super fast to a glossy shine, and it stays glossy. If the polish I use tends to dry a little streaky, this top coat somehow manages to help blend it out. I will buy this over and over again! It's a winner!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - French Connection United Kingdom

I won this fragrance in a magazine promotion, and I am pleasantly surprised by it. I admit, it's not something I would have ever paid attention to, but I am enjoying it very much. It's a very soft, feminine smell on me. Everytime I put this on, someone asks me what I'm wearing. The bottle is very sleek and modern-looking, with no cap to fiddle with. I will be purchasing this for myself when my "won" bottle runs out.

Blush -Revlon - Be Dazzling Blush in Hint of Ruby
beberocket 11/18/2005 5:55:00 PM
I'm sad that this is a limited edition product. It's a gorgeous wine blush (the shimmer doesn't really show up on my complexion [medium skin tone/blonde hair/green eyes]), that is very flattering to my coloring. It gives that "been out in the cold" flush for me. It's easy to layer the amount of color for a day or night look. I wear this with the Revlon LE lipgloss from the same Holiday Collection (wrapped in Rubies), and it's a gorgeous look with silvery eyes. I love the "old Hollywood" look of the oversized case. I'll probably pick up a few more of these before they go "bye-bye".

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Clear Pore Cleanser Mask
beberocket 11/18/2005 5:45:00 PM
I'm 36 years old with combination skin that is acne prone. It's rare that I don't have some little breakout at least once a week. I picked this up a month ago, and have fallen in love with it. I use it once a day, and it doesn't dry my skin out at all (topical BP tends to give me the dry "flakies"). The texure is very nice. It's a bit thicker, so there's no dripping half of it down the drain when you try to apply it to your face. It feels nice going on, very creamy with a slight tingle. I leave it on about 45 seconds to 1 minute and then use a washcloth to lightly rub off and then rinse several times to make sure it's all removed. (The creaminess makes it a bit difficult for me to remove with just splashing water on my face). This stuff recently saved my face when I tried Alpha Hydrox 12% Souffle'. The AH broke my face out something fierce. I used the Clear Pore as a mask the night I started breaking out and then as my regular cleanser the next 2 days, and my face cleared back up in about 2 days. Clear Pore Mask/Cleanser is easy to find and dirt cheap, and it works. I will purchase this on a regular basis.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice - Taheati
beberocket 7/8/2005 12:29:00 AM
Generally, I have loved all the Color Juices that I have tried. This one is no exception. A beautiful rose/coral-golden color that looks gorgeous when I use self-tanner and bronzer on my face. It really goes well with my green eyes and blonde hair. A very good gloss for summertime. I enjoy the "candyish" smell of CJs.

Self Tanners -Coppertone - Oil-Free Sunless tanning Lotion- Light/Medium [DISCONTINUED]
beberocket 6/9/2005 1:06:00 AM
I've been using this self-tanner for about a week now, and I am very happy with it. After dry-scrubbing with a body brush to exfoliate well, I apply regular moisturizer to the typical dry areas (knees, feet, elbows, back of knees, hands) and then use latex gloves to apply in tight circular motions, keeping fingers together. Then I use a makeup sponge to lightly apply to hands and feet. So far, there has been no trouble with streaking. The vanishing tint color guide is very helpful. It did take me about 4 applications of this to get the depth of color that I wanted, which surprised me a little. I looked for this product in Medium/Dark, but couldn't find any. However, once the color develops on me, it is a nice golden brown color. A color similar to what I used to tan back before it became a no-no. No orange at all. If my feet or hands turn out a little too dark, I take one of those pads that come in a tub soaked in nail polish remover (they look Stridex acne pads) and lightly wipe over them with it. This seems to help even out the color, without removing too much color. I have very sensitive acne-prone facial skin, and I can use this without any problems at all on my face. There is no detectable odor at all to me, and it is not greasy. I will buy this many times again this summer.

Conditioner -Aquage - Healing Conditioner
beberocket 12/31/2004 11:34:00 PM
This is a very good conditioner. I can't believe how much shine this stuff gives my butterscotch blonde hair. It also manages to make my fine/thin hair very silky and hydrated without weighing it down or making it look oily. Personally, I really like the scent. Very clean and refreshing. It's not cheap, but it does what it claims it will do. A keeper.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Zero Frizz - Hydrating Conditioner
beberocket 12/31/2004 11:31:00 PM
I have very fine/thin hair just below my shoulders-length hair. I use this as a leave-in conditioner on the ends of my hair to keep my ends looking fresh (I don't get regular trims, because my hair grows so s-l-o-w-l-y). This stuff works great at making my ends look healthy without weighing it down. It also smells really nice and clean. Very, very cheap too.

Styling Products -Redken - Guts
beberocket 11/16/2004 8:15:00 PM
This product is very impressive to me. I have very fine, thin hair. When I use Guts, I always have a good hair day. My hair just has more movement and holds a curl better. I like how I can apply the product directly to the roots and massage it without having it get on the ends of my hair. Two downsides to this product, however. One, I feel a bit like a Christmas tree being flocked with snow when I use it. The spray does tend to go everywhere. Fortunately, it wipes right off with no residue. Two, I wish this product came in a travel size. (Edited: Thanks to my fellow MUAers for letting me know it does come in a travel size.)

Tools -Sally Hansen - French Manicure Kit
beberocket 10/24/2004 12:13:00 PM
Overall, I am pleased with this product, and I will be repurchasing. (Although, I'll probably try Orly and OPI's French Manicure sets also to compare quality of the polishes.) The first time I tried this kit, I used the stick-on guides (which I pressed down very securely). I had trouble with the tip polish bleeding underneath the guides. Also, the polish for the top coat (in Sheer Beige), went on very streaky. Well, I have slightly ridged nails anyway, so I decided to try it another time using a base coat before I applied this kit. I'm glad I did. I used a base coat, and did not use the guides. I just did the tips freehanded (which was actually very easy to do by rotating your hand, as you hold the brush steady). Using a base coat made a big difference in the results I got with this kit. No streaks. I also think the polishes in this kit dry very quickly. I had nice results that went chip free for about 8 days (I also used a top coat). As cheap as this kit is, I think the results are very nice.
