Love this scent, and most of Jo's other fragrances! Great in warmer weather! I just wish Estee Lauder didn't get their meathooks into this company. Watch them come out with Jo Malone EVERYTHING like they did to Bobbi Brown.

WHAT A DISASTER! You're better off paying to have a professional wax you. Really. You'll end up frustrated and disgusted due to the waste of time and the mess it causes. I laughed at the skimpy the amount of strips they gave me. Is muslin made of gold or something? Would never buy again.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Eau De Parfum

If youre looking for a true Gardenia scent, this is it! It's a refreshing blend, unlike older Gardenia based fragrances that will make you sick. This is by far the most beautiful Gardenia fragrance due to the aquatic notes added to take away that heavy, sickeningly sweet smell that others like Annick Goutal's Gardenia Passion have. A Five Star fragrance!

Moisturizers -Chantecaille - Biodynamic Lifting Cream
rated 5 of 5
beautynyc 2/6/2006 12:47:00 AM

I finally decided to try this cream and I can report that this product really stands out from other prestige creams. The ingredients are superb, and I like the Chantecaille uses pure rose water as a base for all treatments. The hexapeptide in this cream is pretty low on the ingredient deck, so don't expect it to be a s dramatic as Botox, but the other ingredients more than make up for it. It has a silky texture, and doesn't feel greasy. The fact that Petrolatum, or Vaseline, is NOT in the cream means that it won't just lay on the surface of your skin, it will actually absorb. Remember, when you see Petrolatum in a skin cream, this means you've got a derivative of Pertoleum on your skin which is ULTRA-OCCLUSIVE, and it's not bio-compatible, meaning your skin doesn't know what it is and does not respond well to it. The plant extracts, vitamins, marine extracts and floral waxes are much better for your skin than petrolatum. If you want a fine treatment cream, try this one!

A mediocre copycat product to cash in on the grape seed extract craze.Nice try Lancome, but you can't beat Caudalie for Grape Seed based skin care.

Moisturizers -Lancome - Resolution D-Contraxol
rated 3 of 5
beautynyc 2/6/2006 12:37:00 AM

Lancome's treatment has always left me cold for some reason. This cream is no exception. Their glossy adverts can really push a product, but as I've said ad nauseum, huge companies liek Lancome simply WON'T put enough actives in their creams to make a difference. They want to appeal to the masses, and if they want to pump out millions of jars of this stuff a year, you can be sure thay wat to do it for the least amount of money possible. The concentration of the hexapeptide that helps reduce lines caused by facial expression is so miniscule that it will barely effect your skin. Remember, Lancome, like the rest, wants to sell millions of jars and if they get a huge amount of clients with bad reactions to the cream, it will mean the end of the product from word of mouth. Knowing this, at least you are aware of the minimal line softening effects this product has. Just get Botox and save yourself the trouble. Nice moisturizer, but little results.

Toners -Cle de Peau - balancing softener tendre
rated 4 of 5
beautynyc 2/6/2006 12:29:00 AM

If you don't mind spending the money, this really is a fantastic product. Not really a toner, but it's used the same way. This product will moistuize, exfoliate, help soften the look of sun spots and prepare the skin for treatments to follow. Skin takes on a brighter appearance with contnued use. It can be a bit sticky feeling for some people, but in the winter months it's especially nice. I acutally used this as a moisturizer for a few real hot, humid days and it did the trick. I took off one lippie due to the $90.00 price tag. Shiseido should either lower the price for a 5oz. bottle, or make the bottle 7.oz like many other companies since it has a faster use-up rate than other products.

Masks -Cle de Peau - Masque Revivifiant/Cooling Mask
rated 2 of 5
beautynyc 2/5/2006 3:10:00 AM

Having gone through an entire box of these treatments, all I can say is I'm underwhelmed. Once again, lofty claims of reduced puffiness and firmer contours are just that, claims. To use this tedious product, you're supposed to give yourself a quick massage with the puff-reducing gel each morning, then follow with the rest of your usual routine. Too time consuming, and hell, the skin can only hold so much product! Once a week, preferably at night, you must use the cooling gel mask. Quite a "space-age" type of watery-gel mask that you apply after your usual skin care. I followed this faithfully, and no results whatsoever. Does it feel great, yes. Does it do anything? Don't know, I'm the only person I know who tried it. OOOH...OOOH...I feel a barrage of glowing praise from the reviewer "imqiora" in defense of this product coming! Watch for a full page ADVERTISEMENT in defense of this product. HA HA HA HA!!! You know me, Unfair and Ignorant! If I'm so ignorant, how do I know that this product is a DUD, and basically collects dust at many Cle de Peau counters???If you want firming there's Revitalizing Emulsion. If you want to reduce puffiness, there's the Eye Serum. Hardly a need for this white elephant, no? At least I'm honest with my reviews and don't give full page spreads complete with pictures and links when reviewing things.

Treatments (Eye) -Chanel - Precision Eye Cream No 1
rated 2 of 5
beautynyc 2/5/2006 2:24:00 AM

This, like most Chanel products, feels great going on, but does it DO anything??? Upon further inspection of the ingredient listing on the box, they DO have Matrixyl in this cream.....it's the VERY LAST INGREDIENT!!! The oxygenating claims they make about the No.1 Collection are a bit far-fetched. The one ingredient that could possibly make a difference is the LAST ingredient? Yet another way to make a lable claim, but save a ton of money in formulating this product. Don't bother buying it.

Masks -Astara - Blue Flame Purification Mask
rated 5 of 5
beautynyc 2/5/2006 2:18:00 AM

A vacuum cleaner for your pores! WOW this mask sucks out the blackheads and excess oils. Just be sure to wash it off the minute it's completely dry so as not to dry out the skin. Once a mask is dry, it's no longer working. A keeper!

Scrubs -Astara - Daily Refining Scrub
rated 5 of 5
beautynyc 2/5/2006 2:16:00 AM

This scrub must have been the precursor to all the at home microdermabrasion creams out there now. I was introduced to this product 8 years ago and I really loved the results. A great alternative to those scrubs where the particles are so big they don't do anything but fall down the drain. A definite must try!

Masks -Astara - Golden Flame Hydration Mask
rated 5 of 5
beautynyc 2/5/2006 2:13:00 AM

Excellent hydrating mask! Love this stuff, but DO NOT use it as an eye gel as the owners of the company (Bunny and Sunny) told me to do during a training for the line. I puffed up in ten minutes and it took 24 hours for the boatload of hydration to dissipate around my eyes. Super after sun! Would buy again!

Lip Treatments -Revive - Lip and Perioral Renewal Creme
rated 2 of 5
beautynyc 2/5/2006 2:08:00 AM

Although I find the Re Vive skin treatments to be fantastic, they lost me on this one. It's really nothing more than tons of silicone, EGF and some firmers. No exfoliants are present in this product. INGREDIENTS: Cyclomethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Ethylhexanoate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Polyethylene, Nylon-12, Microcrystalline Wax, Di-C12-15 Alkyl Fumarate, EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), Passiflora Incarnata Fruit Extract, Boron Nitride, Flavor. Feels awesome going on, but I woke up with dry lips. Good as a treatment, but not as a moisturizer / balm. I'm glad it was a few packets and not the whole bottle that I tried. Would not purchase.
