Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
rated 2 of 5

At first I was ecstatic. My skin was smoother and appeared to have faded my acne scars. I only use this once a week and I use an SPF 30 on my face every single day and a heavy cream at night. However, lately my skin has been looking rather lack luster after use. Within a day, my skin literally starts PEELING. My forehead and nose are the worse. Along with the jawline and cheeks...ok EVERYWHERE. After a couple of days and intense moisture (now using jojoba oil), the peeling stops. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am not scrubbing the crap out of my face either. Lightly...just lightly... ..will not repurchase. I have not experienced any breakouts. I am very prone to it, but thankfully I have not experienced this while using it.

Hair Styling Tools -Remington - T-Studio Pearl Curling Wand
rated 5 of 5

This isn't normal...after using a product and I *immediately* want to share how much I am so happy I purchased this! After researching curling wands via YouTube and MUA...I just had to try this one out. I'm very impressed. I hold curls well, but this one definitely was bouncy and spirally! I even tried it on my mom and the curl held in pin straight hair. Now this is a feat...seriously! I got the 1 to 1/2 wand, but I am definitely going to purchase the larger barrel. I like looser waves, but this is a look (tighter curls) I enjoy as well!

Lipstick -Maybelline - high shine in coral lustre
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 9/15/2011 2:12:00 AM

Honestly, I don't buy too much drugstore brand lipstick, but this stuff was on a whim. Lately I've been trying to experiment with color. I'm a pretty fair (sometimes tan) Asian. NC 35 most of the year, but lately I've been avoiding the sun so I'm much lighter... I usually wear nude or muted pink lipsticks. I like that look...but I was craving color. On my quest to find a brighter lip color, I came across this one at CVS. I tested it on my hand it looked pretty. There's a subtle shimmer, but I don't mind. It's not pouring glitter or anything, so it's doable. It's probably the lipstick that my mom says looks absolutely amazing on me. She likes it even more than my paler/nude shades. And I absolutely LOVE it too. I really hope Maybelline does not discontinue this because it's just such an amazingly gorgeous reddish/coral color. The staying power isn't too strong. I do find myself reapplying every couple of hours...however, it's MUCH MORE moisturizing than my MAC lipsticks. I don't know why, but my MAC lipsticks give me peeled lips midday, and this stuff has not given me this sort of problem which is a LOVE. BTW, this is the first time I tried on a darker/brighter lip color and I have been wearing it everyday. GET IT!

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Kiss I-Envy Eyelashes
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 9/15/2011 2:03:00 AM

I use false lashes EVERYDAY because it's quicker than applying mascara (that and I have little to no lashes). I have tried every single brand from dirt cheap brands from Ardell, Red Cherry, Andrea, Revlon to expensive ones (MAC, Sephora brands, etc)... Most of them are pretty similar, all manufactured by a vendor but price points are different depending on the actual company selling them to retailers. However, I have taken notice that Kiss i-Envy lashes are of a much higher quality IMO. You can find them in most beauty supply stores...my absolute favorite is Beyond Naturale 03. I've searched for years for a HG lash...and this is it. I literally strip the beauty supply store clean of this particular style. I also saw that Walgreen's carries Kiss lashes with a thread on the side, which I have yet to try. I don't have trouble putting lashes on because I'm literally a pro and can get them in within seconds (literally). Takes a lot of practice, but it's possible ladies!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Merlot - Face Cream grape seed spf 15
rated 3 of 5
beautifulletdown 8/25/2011 12:48:00 PM

I wanted to like this product, but it wasn't moisturizing enough (it disappeared within seconds) and after two weeks, I started breaking out. Very disappointed with this product. I guess I'll just keep looking for the perfect SPF.

Hair -Sacha Cosmetics - Sally - Hair One Hair Cleanser and Conditioner
rated 3 of 5
beautifulletdown 12/14/2010 2:11:00 AM

I've been using this product for over a month now. I wash my hair every other day (I try to keep it down to 3x a week). When I first used this stuff, it was probably the best thing I've ever done to my hair.... ...however, lately it's been the complete opposite. It seems like I'm getting some nasty buildup in my hair. It's like, dirty looking on the top and just unmanageable on the bottom. Frizzy...after styling it, it looks like crap too. I don't get what it's doing to my hair but I'm not very happy about it. I use this and then follow it with Moroccan oil for styling. However, it's not holding up anymore. I might go out and buy a clarifying shampoo and just clean out all the nasty buildup and then figure out my next purchase.

Treatments -Aphogee - Two-Step Protein Treatment (formerly Treatment for Damaged Hair)
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 9/17/2010 7:34:00 PM

Here's the story of my hair... I dye it every 6 to 8 weeks and since I'm trying to grow this sucker out, I am not big on getting haircuts...even trims. I went to an Aveda salon last week and they messed up on my hair so bad that I had to go back a week later to get it fixed. My hair was already borderline suffering after the first visit, that the second visit left my hair fried. I use Pureology and/or Enjoy shampoo and conditioners in my hair (I need sulfate free products for my scalp condition) and even they won't fix. After reading the reviews on this product, I just had to try it since my hair was not responding to the Moroccan Oil serum after 2 weeks of use (I'm still buying it in hopes it will help but I need to find something else). I got the sample packet because since I've been so skeptical with products, I didn't want to have to go back and return it. The actual protein treatment smells like cat piss. I almost puked like 4x it was so bad. I don't know how some of you could stand it but it was horrible. I was hopeful though. After drying (I blow dried it and waited for another 30 minutes or so), I ran into the shower and rinsed it off... ...instantly I felt a difference in my hair all over. I applied the conditioner/moisture packet it came with and wow my hair feels like I just got a haircut. It's truly amazing stuff. I followed up with my Pureology conditioner. Very happy with the results. You all need to try this if you have extremely dried or overly processed hair!

Eyes -Ardell - Duralash
rated 5 of 5

If you want Kim Kardashian like lashes...this is the product. I don't have any lower lashes and no mascara could save me...so I got these for my lowers and it's SOOOO beautiful. I had to cut them down a bit (even for the short ones) and they look amazing. I wish I could wear these everyday but it takes me like 10 minutes to apply (just started using them). I'm a pro with the strips, but when it comes to the individual ones, it's gonna take some time to get used to them.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Likas Papaya Soap
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 1/25/2010 3:01:00 AM

For years I have struggled with acne. I've tried EVERYTHING. The severity of my acne ranged throughout the years. In high school, it was pretty bad. The doctor prescribed Differin and it worked the first round...but after my senior year it came back HARD and I tried Differin again and it failed. Acne was so bad, I waited until it got worse and then got on Accutane. I had bad acne then and it definitely cleared up. After the treatment, I still got breakouts here and there but not as bad before the Accutane. Then I just tried to fight it with Proactiv, Murad and this exfoliant treatment which all SUCKED. I started Jan Marini's glycolic acid product last year and it was probably the best one of all. However, I quit using it. My mom always tried to get me to use this soap since I started breaking out. My aunt used it in the past and she had terrible acne and swears by it. But being a stubborn teenager, I didn't listen. I WISH I LISTENED TO HER WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. BY FAR, this is THE best stuff. Actually, I started using it for different reasons. I wanted to fade my tan. I hate being so dark. I practically live on the beach so anytime I'm under the sun, in 5 minutes I'm 10 shades darker. I knew that this soap lightens the skin and yes it does. After a year of using, this has been my lifesaver. My skin has never been so clear (and lighter). The downside to this soap is that it will practically zap the moisture off your skin. I use it all over my body and face...very good stuff. I can easily fade my tan and have clear skin! Win win!

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stylist Mascara ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 12/29/2005 1:30:00 AM

OMG. I am in LOVE with this product! Why? The wand is not a brush, but a comb and it INSTANTLY combs the product into your lashes. I do not have any lashes and this totally gets in there making it fuller in one sweep. I added two sweeps and I'm done. I've cut down on my mascara putting on time by 10 minutes. I would seriously take 15+ minutes to put on my mascara since my lashes are super thin. It doesn't clump either since it's a comb. I am in love with this product. Definately worth a buy...and it's CHEAP so if you try it and don't like it...it's only worth a cup of coffee.

Lip Gloss -Pout - Plump
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 12/20/2005 1:53:00 AM

Well I didn't purchase it since I found it at a party...haha! Anyways, the gloss is awesome. I didn't know it was supposed to plump your lips until I went online on Sephora to read all about it. My lips are pretty full as it is though. The peppermint part is awesome, that is why I'm keeping it.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Vanilla Spice Body Butter
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 11/4/2005 12:12:00 PM

This is such an awesome product. I've been looking for a vanilla lotion that smells amazing and moisturizes...and I've found it! Not only does it keep me moisturized for hours, but the smell stays on until night. I kid you not! I put it in the very morning and even at night I still smell it. It responds well with men too, ladies...my co-workers and friends always ask me what smells so good. One whiff of me, and they know it's me. It's a strong scent I tell you. Good stuff. I'm going to buy more because it's only for the holidays...gotta stock up!

Well...it's my first time trying a salon shampoo and honestly I'm never going to go back to that stuff at department stores. Although my hair feels awesome, sometimes it gets real gross and greasy. I know there's better ones.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel eyeliner in Granite
rated 5 of 5
beautifulletdown 12/21/2004 12:47:00 AM

After reading the reviews, I just had to try it. I've been faithful to my MAC Powerpoint in Engraved, but I just had to find something that was less harsh. This one is like a soft black on my NC35, MMM skin. It comes in a pot so I'm sure it will last me awhile. Pencils tug on the skin on my eyes and sometimes liquid seeps into my eye (NOT GOOD), but this product is awesome. I've only bought a couple Bobbi Brown products, but so far the ones I've got are my HG! I want to try all the gel eyeliners! I'm getting Cobalt next!

I am a NC35/GGG and this stuff is just awesome. I bought it at the outlets and its just super cool. It goes so beautifully on my eyes. The colors are just awesome. I use it as eyeshadow, but it can be used to highlight your nose and cheeks. So nice! Will buy again!
