Palettes -Coastal Scents - 26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette
rated 4 of 5
beautiflower 1/17/2012 8:30:00 PM

i can't get over how amazing this palette is for the price. it's just unbelievable. the colours are gorgeous and very pigmented, the blushes are also very pigmented and can be used as shadow too. my only two cons are the packaging and the fact that there's no highlight colours. the reason i don't like the packaging is because it's REALLY hard to open! sometimes it takes me a whole minute just to get the stupid thing open! haha when i first got it i had to get another person to open it for me. and even they had a hard time! but other than those two things i LOVE it!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
beautiflower 1/17/2012 8:12:00 PM

In my mind this is just the perfect liquid eyeliner. It's a very intense, carbon black. the felt tip works amazingly. i find it's much easier to use then a brush tip. you can get a really fine line or a thick dramatic line. And, it lasts all day! Love it!

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
beautiflower 1/17/2012 8:03:00 PM

i don't think this product actually controls shine like it claims to, but i still like it. it really does wake you up! it feels amazingly minty fresh and cool on your skin! and it leaves it really soft and clean. for the first couple weeks i did notice that it had tightened the pores on my nose as well. the little beads in it are completely useless. you only get about three or four per pump and they don't even do anything. also, now that i've been using it for about a month and a half i think my skin has just gotten to used to it! it feels less minty, and cool than it did the first couple weeks, and it doesn't seem to be tightening my pores anymore. it's still a keeper though, till it runs out.

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
rated 4 of 5
beautiflower 11/14/2011 5:13:00 PM

i've been wearing it for over a week and i only have a couple cons. the "25 hour" claim is completely false. i have oily skin, and this is a very nice natural (cross between dewy and matte, not the harsh, paint-like matte of revlon colorstay) finish for about 2 hours, then it starts getting a bit shiny on my nose, the actual coverage doesn't wear away, it just lets a little oil through. this is without blotting or powdering. if i DO blot and powder about half way through the day, then it looks pretty good. the large pores on my nose start getting kind of noticeable though around the same time as i get really oily, but if i quickly touch it up with a bit more foundation they disappear again. this foundation: comes in a convenient squeeze tube (unlike the infamous revlon CS' pumpless glass bottle), has great medium-full coverage (covered my acne scars and dark under eye circles quite well), is very bendable (much better then revlon colorstay!), i wear 103 true ivory. it could be a bit more yellow/olive, but it's the exact same shade (light-medium) as my skin). it also only costs $10 in Canada (as apposed to revlon CS which costs $20!) the cons: it smells like soap...this doesn't bother me, but i suppose it could bother some people. over all, i like it better than revlon colorstay as far as the initial, natural looking finish, and the color selection. but i wish it had the amazing staying power/oil control of revlon CS!

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - retractable kabuki
rated 5 of 5
beautiflower 11/14/2011 4:35:00 PM

LOVE! the packaging is awesome! it's great for travel or just throwing in your makeup bag or drawer. you don't have to worry about the bristles getting ruined, or shedding AT ALL. super super SUPER soft, yet firm (unlike those flimsy, crap kabuki brushes you usually find at the DS). it also picks up the perfect amount of product. the only thing is that it's a tad bit small. i use it more for blush or bronzer, but you can still use it for pressed powder! some people just prefer to use a huge, fluffy kabuki, but this is my baby. for life.

Concealers -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Concealer
rated 2 of 5
beautiflower 11/14/2011 4:22:00 PM

i was disappointed with this concealer. it's a decent price, and has good coverage. but that's about all i like about it. first of all when i bought this it only came in three shades: light, medium, and dark. i bought it in medium, which is way too dark/peachy/pink! i used it as a blemish concealer for a while. it blends fairly well (probably more so if it was the right shade), and as i said before, has good coverage. however, i have oily skin, and this stuff does not stay put! i was ready to chuck it in the garbage until i decided i should try it as an undereye concealer. i have blue veins under my eyes and thought that the peachy color would be good for counter-acting the blue, and that the creamy moist texture wouldn't crease under my eyes. i was wrong. this barely lasted a full day and did next to nothing for correcting the blueness. plus, it creased like MAD! this is not creamy, i would call it greasy. it might be good if you have dry, cool toned skin. but i hate it.

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Pressed Bronzer in Light to Medium
rated 3 of 5
beautiflower 11/14/2011 4:04:00 PM

i have been using this bronzer for almost an entire year, and i still haven't hit pan yet! it lasts forever! it goes on easily and looks just like a bronzer should. it's a very nice color, and if you look at the product under natural light you will notice that it has very fine gold shimmer. however you can't really see it once you've applied it to your skin. it just looks glowy! my one con is the price. it's $20 in canada. way too expensive for any drugstore product! i would re-purchase if it wasn't so expensive!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in #249 Vanity [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
beautiflower 10/7/2011 7:14:00 PM

i bought this because i'd heard so many good things about it. i'd also heard people compare it to the urban decay naked palette, which i wasn't about to plunk down $50 for! i was a little skeptical because it just looked like regular (crappy) drugstore eyeshadow. but i was wrong! it's pigmented, long lasting, blendable, and gorgeous! BUY IT. it's totally worth the price! i payed less than $10 for it in canada.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup *new formula*
rated 3 of 5
beautiflower 10/7/2011 7:04:00 PM

i bought this in the normal skin formula when i was in my early teens. it was my very first foundation. it only costs $5-$8 in Canada, and for the price, it's pretty good. it doesn't have amazing coverage, probably medium, but then, i didn't have really bad skin in those days. it blends really well, has a pretty good color selection, and most of all, didn't clog my pores whatsoever (this is especially amazing considering i used to sleep in my foundation probably five days a week, and never got a single break out!) over all, it's good for what you pay, and i would recommend it to preteens/teens that don't have very troubled skin.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin
rated 4 of 5
beautiflower 10/7/2011 4:23:00 PM

i bought this because i was suffering from breakouts due to my previous cleanser which claimed to help prevent/fight breakouts! this is a very gentle cleanser, not harsh at all, like my previous one, and i find it's all ready helping diminish breakouts/scarring after my third use! it also lathers very nicely. especially with the scrublet! man, i love that thing. it's so gentle yet it really scrubs, cleaning out your pores. i love how it's so flexible and easy to use. i also love the little suction cup on the back so i can stick it to my mirror or sink and not have to worry about it getting lost! the only thing that kind of bugs me is the fact that it doesn't clean my heavy make up off as well as i would like. i have to remove most of it with a wipe first and then i go in with this, and that seems to work! i use this in the morning and night. love it!

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
beautiflower 10/7/2011 4:05:00 PM

this concealer: covers under eye circles (i have blueness and veins under my eyes and this does a decent job of covering/brightening them up), blends nicely, doesn't crease or settle in fine lines (and trust me, i have fine lines), lasts forever (you only need a tiny, tiny dot for under each eye), and comes in 4 shades. the only thing i don't like about it is the packaging. when i go to squeeze some out, i have to squeeze very gently or i'll get waaaay to much (remembering that you only need a TINY dot) and then i can't get it back into the tube since it doesn't unscrew. so over all, this is a great concealer. as long as you squeeze it out very gently, you'll have it for ages, and it will stay on your face all day!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Combination Skin Moisture Oil Free
rated 4 of 5
beautiflower 10/7/2011 3:48:00 PM

for a long time i didn't even moisturize my face because i had very oily skin. i say "had" because i used an acne fighting face wash that ended up drying out my cheeks and sides of my nose. however, my forehead, chin, and front of my nose were still oily. but not anymore! this is an excellent moisturizer for those with oily/combination skin. it does exactly what it says. it moisturizes dry areas while controlling shine on oily areas. i only need to use a pea size amount for my entire face, and it goes on beautifully. if i run fingers over my face a couple seconds after applying this i don't feel any stickiness or wetness at all. in my opinion, this is a PERFECT moisturizer. especially for combo/ oily skin!

Polishes -OPI - Black Shatter
rated 3 of 5
beautiflower 9/24/2011 7:54:00 PM

i think this is such a cool nail polish! when i first saw it on someone i was like "WOW" the shatter effect is so unique, and works really well. however, it can be a little tricky to get the hang of, because it's so different then regular nail polish in that it dries WAY faster ( it has to in order to get the "shatter" effect), this means you have to be very quick in applying it. no hesitations! the other thing is to MAKE SURE YOU SCREW THE LID ON TIGHTLY and DON'T LEAVE IT OPEN! i only got a couple uses out of it and then i went to apply it for the third time and when i pulled the brush out the polish had gone all lumpy sticky. overall i think this is a great product but i wouldn't buy the OPI version. too expensive. you can buy some that works almost just as well for 3 bucks at ardene!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash
rated 3 of 5
beautiflower 8/11/2011 11:18:00 PM

i have very oily, acne prone skin, and so far i really like this stuff! it washes off all my makeup and doesn't leave any residue whatsoever. it also seems to help with my acne spots. i thought i would go for a cleanser that would target my specific needs. oil free acne wash seemed like it would fit the bill, and it has! however this stuff is very gentle and in the three times i've used it i haven't noticed any spectacular results. also, it smells kind of like sunscreen, but i don't really mind. other than that i would recommend using a moisturizer after cleansing because this is very drying.still, i would definitely repurchase! *UPDATE* ok, i have been using this for about 2 months now and have noticed a few things that i couldn't have noticed in the first couple uses of this product. my skin has steadily been going down hill! it's been breaking out a lot! i'm not entirely 100% sure if it is this, or a foundation that i started using around the exact same time... i'll have to stop using one or the other for a little while to find out which is causing the problem, however, i'm leaning towards this as the culprit.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 3 of 5
beautiflower 7/31/2011 5:28:00 PM

i really like this but... i find it takes at least 2 or 3 coats to get the right intensity for my nearly invisible lashes. i like it in waterproof because it keeps the curl much better. however, it's not water proof! i went swimming and when i dunked under the water and came back up (without even touching my eyes) my friend said it was smudging! and by the time i got out of the lake and looked in the mirror, there was nothing left on my eyes but smudges of black on my lids. i would repurchase, but i'll buy a different waterproof mascara for swiming next time.
